Zusammenfassung Die Pflanzengesellschaften werden als objektive Einheiten der Erdoberfläche angesehen, die als Grundlage für biosoziologische Untersuchungen dienen können. Die verschiedenen bislang angewandten Untersuchungsverfahren zur quantitativen Erfassung des Tierartenbestandes eines einheitlichen Gebietes wereden angeführt und erörtert. Die eigenen Untersuchungen wurden in Probeflächen des Melico- und Carici-Fagetum durchgeführt. Dabei wurden mehrere Probequadrate von 25×25 cm abgesteckt und zu einer Probefläche zusammengefaßt. Zur Angabe der Frequenz und Abundanz wird ein Klassensystem benutzt (+, 1 bis 5). In Waldgesellschaften sind mindestens 8 Probequadrate erforderlich. Der Vergleich mehrerer einheitlicher Bestände ergibt die Konstanz (I bis V). Für das Carici-Fagetum lassen sich Abida secale, Clausilia parvula und Iphigena plicatula als Kenn-Arten ausscheiden. Die Artenzahl ist im Melico-Fagetum geringer. Einige Arten können evtl. als geographische Differentialarten angesehen werden.
Summary The plant associations are considered to be objective units of the earth surface which may be a basis for biosociological researches. The different methods used for quantitative studies of the animal species of a homogeneous area are recorded and discussed. Own studies of the Melico-Fagetum and Carici-Fagetum have been carried out in northwestern Germany. Several sample squares of 25×25 cm are marked out and treated as a whole called sample area. Frequency and abundancy are represented by five classes (1 to 5). In wood communities 8 sample squares are necessary. The constancy means the frequency within several homogeneous sites (I to V). Thus it was found that the Carici-Fagetum is characterized by Abida secale, Clausilia parvula and Iphigena plicatula as euconstant species. The number of species is less in the Melico-Fagetum. Sporozoites and merozoites of three species ofEimeria, E. tenella, E. maxima, andE. necatrix, that cause diarrhea in chickens worldwide, were examined for their expression of sialidase (SA) activity. The enzyme was found in three species, and the activity of merozoites was 10–20 times higher than that of sporozoites. The enzyme was resistant to degradation by proteases that are normally present in the intestine, a site inhabited by theEimeria parasites, and it was relatively resistant to heat, with optimum activity being at 40°C, which is within the range of temperature in the chicken intestine (40–43°C).E. tenella SA was immuniprecipitated by monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies raised against theTrypanosoma cruzi SA (TCSA), and enzyme activity was neutralized by these antibodies.E. tenella SA was identified by immunoblots as a doublet of molecular weight 190 000 and 180 000 using, as a probe, anti-TCSA antibodies and antibodies against a synthetic peptide (TR) derived from the long tandem repeat domain of TCSA. Binding of the monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies toE. tenella was completely blocked by TR, but not by an irrelevant peptide (BR). Therefore,E. tenella expresses a developmentally regulated SA that is structurally related to theT. cruzi counterpart. Because of the high SA activity in merozoites, and by analogy with other SA-producing microbes that inhabit mucin-rich epithelia, we suggest that theEimeria SA plays a role in desialylating intestinal mucins to reduce viscosity of the local environment and thereby facilitate parasite migration. Tissue biopsies from (1) some chronic inflammatory diseases, (2) a necrotic tumoral process, (3) normal human lymphatic ganglia, and (4) two congenital diseases of the adrenal cortex were selected for study. A block from each biopsy was fixed in glutaraldehyde-paraformaldehyde; a second block was fixed in 10% formaldehyde. In all cases septate junctions between digestive vacuoles did occur in phagocytic cells and some adrenal cortex cells fixed in formaldehyde. These junctions were similar to those reported recently for malakoplakia phagocytes. Consistently, they were not found to attach organelles other than lysosomes derivatives. Both phagocytes and adrenal cortex cells in the material fixed in glutaraldehyde-paraformaldehyde did not display adhesive specializations between digestive vacuoles. This suggests that the septate junctions described herein are artifactuous structures induced by formaldehyde. There is, however, a certain degree of specificity of cells having the capability of developing these septate junctions. It is assumed that the coating material of digestive organelles in phogocytes and some other cells would be responsible for both cell specificity and organelle specificity of the formaldehyde-induced septate junctions. 相似文献
