It is recommended to estimate the clinical effect of antibacterial therapy in patients with different purulent inflammatory complications with an account of the data on both the clinical and bacteriological examinations. The full affect consisted in disappearance of the clinical signs and complete bacteriological sanation of the purulent inflammatory foci. The partial effect was shown by a marked decrease in the clinical manifestations without complete bacteriological sanation of the foci. The ill effect was evidenced by clinical picture having no time course and no favourable time course in bacteriological tests. No effect was indicated by deterioration of the clinical picture and no favourable time course in the bacteriological tests. 相似文献

Experimental data are presented on evaluating the efficiency of auditory perception of the dolphin Tursiops truncatus of tonal signals of different duration and of the fixed energy on the background of Gauss obstacle. The dependence of percepting properties on time characteristics of the signal are stated. A comparative analysis of the efficiency of dolphin auditory system with that of the coordinated filter is carried out. Biological receiving systems are shown to be adaptive. The self-tuning linits of the dolphin auditory system at a given level of the possibility of correct detection are determined. 相似文献

The highly conserved cardiotonic steroid (CS) binding site present on the ubiquitous membrane sodium pump, sodium, potassium-ATPase, appears to have been conserved by no force other than its capacity to bind CS: a family that includes plant-derived cardiac glycosides and putative endogenous vertebrate counterparts. Binding of ligand is inhibited by increased extracellular potassium. This implies functional coordination because inhibition of the sodium pump would be counterproductive when extracellular potassium is elevated. The interesting biology of the CS binding site continues to stimulate investigations into the identity of endogenous ligands, their role as pump regulators at the cellular level, and as mediators of body fluid balance and blood pressure regulation. In addition to inhibition of sodium and potassium transport, there is considerable recent evidence suggesting that the sodium pump may act as a cell signaling receptor activated by CS binding and responding by coordination of intracellular signaling pathways that can be dependent on and also independent of the reduction in transmembrane ion flux resulting directly from pump inhibition. This signaling may influence cell survival, growth, and differentiation. Recent insight into the biology of pump regulation by CS is reviewed. 相似文献

A procedure for preparing stable A. chrysogenum protoplasts capable of 60 per cent regeneration was developed. Two morphogenetic types of the regeneration were detected. The variants isolated after the protoplast regeneration were characterized by wide ranges of morphological variation. Capacity for the antibiotic production varied from 60 to 160 per cent of the activity of the starting strain. A procedure for isolating functionally active mitochondria from protoplasts of A. chrysogenum was also developed. Their main bioenergetic parameters were studied. Oncolytic viruses are genetically engineered viruses that are designed to kill cancer cells while doing minimal damage to normal healthy tissue. After being injected into a tumor, they infect cancer cells, multiply inside them, and when a cancer cell is killed they move on to spread and infect other cancer cells. Chondroitinase ABC (Chase-ABC) is a bacterial enzyme that can remove a major glioma ECM component, chondroitin sulfate glycosoamino glycans from proteoglycans without any deleterious effects in vivo. It has been shown that Chase-ABC treatment is able to promote the spread of the viruses, increasing the efficacy of the viral treatment. In this paper we develop a mathematical model to investigate the effect of the Chase-ABC on the treatment of glioma by oncolytic viruses (OV). We show that the model''s predictions agree with experimental results for a spherical glioma. We then use the model to test various treatment options in the heterogeneous microenvironment of the brain. The model predicts that separate injections of OV, one into the center of the tumor and another outside the tumor will result in better outcome than if the total injection is outside the tumor. In particular, the injection of the ECM-degrading enzyme (Chase-ABC) on the periphery of the main tumor core need to be administered in an optimal strategy in order to infect and eradicate the infiltrating glioma cells outside the tumor core in addition to proliferative cells in the bulk of tumor core. The model also predicts that the size of tumor satellites and distance between the primary tumor and multifocal/satellite lesions may be an important factor for the efficacy of the viral therapy with Chase treatment. 相似文献

Endogenous periodic oscillations of the heart beat rate are described in rat pups aged 3–4, 7–8, 10–11, 13–14, 21–22 days and 1.5 month after birth. These oscillations have all characteristic features established earlier for the secondary rhythms of endogenous contractile activity in the wall of various regions of the gastrointestinal tract and for bursts of spontaneous somatomotor excitation in the early postnatal ontogeny of rats: a multi-stage organization, inconstancy, irregularity of components. In frequency spectra of secondary oscillations of the heart rate obtained by means of fast Fourier transform of R–R intervals of the periodogram, age-related changes of the spectral frequency power are demonstrated in 4 ranges, 0.01–0.03, 0.03–0.1, 0.1–1.0, and 1.0–2.5 Hz, which correspond to the about-one-minute, decasecond, and about-one-second waves of the heart rhythm oscillations and to sinus arrhythmia. It is shown that the dominating frequencies of the secondary rhythms in each range do not have regular age-related changes, which is characteristic of all endogenous secondary rhythms. 相似文献

Experiments on dogs have shown that tension of peripheral capacitive vessels decreased and development of the blood deposition reaction in the venous part of the vascular bed occurred immediately after beginning of long-ischemized tissue perfusion. This leads to limitation of venous blood return to the heart, decrease of the cardiac output and development of the system hypotension. Lowering in the perfusion coronary pressure induced limitation of the coronary blood flow and inhibition of the myocardial contractility. Indicated constriction of resistive vessels and dilatation of the capacitive ones may be due to an increase of the prostacyclin and thromboxane A2 blood levels. Cerebral mechanisms of musical abilities were explored in musically gifted children. For this purpose, psychophysiological characteristics of perception of emotional speech information were experimentally studied in samples of gifted and ordinary children. Forty six schoolchildren and forty eight musicians of three age groups (7-10, 11-13 and 14-17 years old) participated in the study. In experimental session, a test sentence was presented to a subject through headphones with two emotional intonations (joy and anger) and without emotional expression. A subject had to recognize the type of emotion. His/her answers were recorded. The analysis of variance revealed age- and gender-related features of emotional recognition: boys musicians led the schoolchildren of the same age by 4-6 years in the development of mechanisms of emotional recognition, whereas girls musicians were 1-3 years ahead. Musical education in girls induced the shift of predominant activities for emotional perception in the left hemisphere; in boys, on the contrary, initial distinct dominance of the left hemisphere was not retained in the process of further education. 相似文献
