Modern data on the etiology and pathogenesis of invasive streptococcal infection and the syndrome of streptococcal toxic shock are presented. In the course of the last 10-15 years essential changes in the system of interaction of group A streptococci and the macroorganism have been noted. The growth of morbidity in severe invasive forms of streptococcal infection with different clinical manifestations, including the syndrome of toxic shock, is observed. Most often this disease develops in elderly people, making up a group of risk, but sometimes affects healthy young people. Different pathogenicity factors of streptococci, capable of inducing the development of infection, are analyzed. Special attention is given to superantigens: pyrogenic toxins and M-protein. The suggestion that the development of the disease is seemingly linked with the state of specific protective immunity is substantiated. In spite of achievements in the field of the microbiology and immunology of group A streptococci, the causes of the appearance and development of invasive streptococcal infection have not yet been determined. 相似文献

The ultrastructural study of spermatozoa of hermaphroditic land molluscs Trichia hispida and Succinea putris has shown that the general pattern of their structure is similar. At the same time differences were found in the fine structure of acrosome, centriolar region (neck) and mitochondrial derivate (accessory nucleus). High-throughput sequencing was used for comparative analysis of microbial communities of the water and mat from the Hoito-Gol mesothermal mineral sulfide spring (Eastern Sayan Mountains, Buryat Republic). Activity of microbial communities was determined. While both spring biotopes were dominated by members of three bacterial phyla—Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Firmicutes—they differed drastically in the composition of predominant phylotypes (at the genus level). In the water, the organisms widespread in aquatic environments were predominant, mostly aerobic chemoorganotrophs of the genera Acinetobacter, Pedobacter, and Flavobacterium. In the microbial mat, the organisms actively involved in the sulfur cycle predominated, including sulfur-reducing bacteria Sulfurospirillum, sulfate-reducing deltaproteobacteria, sulfuroxidizing chemoautotrophic bacteria, anoxygenic phototrophic bacteria of the phyla Chloroflexi and Chlorobi, as well as purple bacteria belonging to the α-, ß-, and γ-Proteobacteria. Ribosomal biogenesis involves the processing of pre-ribosomal RNA. A deficiency of some ribosomal proteins (RPs) impairs processing and causes Diamond Blackfan anemia (DBA), which is associated with anemia, congenital malformations and cancer. p53 mediates many features of DBA, but the mechanism of p53 activation remains unclear. Another hallmark of DBA is the upregulation of adenosine deaminase (ADA), indicating changes in nucleotide metabolism. In RP-deficient zebrafish, we found activation of both nucleotide catabolism and biosynthesis, which is consistent with the need to break and replace the faulty ribosomal RNA. We also found upregulation of deoxynucleotide triphosphate (dNTP) synthesis – a typical response to replication stress and DNA damage. Both RP-deficient zebrafish and human hematopoietic cells showed activation of the ATR/ATM-CHK1/CHK2/p53 pathway. Other features of RP deficiency included an imbalanced dNTP pool, ATP depletion and AMPK activation. Replication stress and DNA damage in cultured cells in non-DBA models can be decreased by exogenous nucleosides. Therefore, we treated RP-deficient zebrafish embryos with exogenous nucleosides and observed decreased activation of p53 and AMPK, reduced apoptosis, and rescue of hematopoiesis. Our data suggest that the DNA damage response contributes to p53 activation in cellular and zebrafish models of DBA. Ultrastructure of the silkworm's ducts defferens is described after spermatozoa went out of lobulli testis and after the end of secretion. D. defferens is composed of an external layer of the ring and longitudinal muscles and of an internal layer of glandular cells. Both layers are separated by structurless lamina--tunica propria. Z-discs of irregular form are placed at the borders of sarcomeres. M-lines are absent. Sarcolemma intrudes into the muscle fibers at the level of Z-discs and gives origin to T-system the tubes of which together with sarcoplasmic reticulum form dyades. Structures like intercalate discs are observed in muscle tissue at the level of Z-discs. Glandular cells have unusually developed nucleoli, many ribosomes, lysosome-like and residual bodies. 228 strains of soil and rhizosphere pseudomonads isolated in different geographic zones were screened, with the use of two tester systems, for the capacity to produce N-acetyl-homoserine lactones (AHLs), which are autoinducers involved in quorum-sensing (QS) regulation. AHL production was found in 11.4% of the strains investigated. In five Pseudomonas chlororaphis strains shown to be active AHL producers and chosen for further study, PCR identified two QS systems that involved the phzI, phzR, csaI, and csaR genes; this finding suggests the conservative nature of these regulation systems in P. chlororaphis. Strain P. chlororaphis 449, chosen as a model object and studied in greater detail, produced three AHL species including N-butanoyl-homoserine lactone and N-hexanoyl-homoserine lactone. This strain produced three types of phenazine antibiotics, as well as siderophores and cyanide; it also exhibited antagonistic properties toward a wide spectrum of phytopathogenic fungi. The phzI and csaI genes, coding for synthases of AHLs of two types, were cloned and sequenced; mutants with knocked-out phzI and csal genes were obtained. With the use of transposon mutagenesis and the gene substitution method, mutations were obtained in the global expression regulator genes gacS, coding for the GacA-GacS regulation system kinase, and rpoS, coding for the sigma S subunit of RNA polymerase. The effect of these mutations on the AHL synthesis and on the regulation of various metabolic processes in P. chlororaphis was studied. 相似文献

The microflora of the skin and the nasal mucosa was studied in 14 healthy newborns, 3 newborns with purulent infections and a nurse working in a neonatal ward. To make this study, washings were obtained with the use of 0.1% Triton X-100 solution. The determination of the number of microorganisms, the percentage of staphylococci, the percentage of lecithinase-positive staphylococci and the number of colonies with antagonistic properties revealed that these characteristics differed according to the state of health of the newborns and the time elapsed after their birth, and that changes in the number of antagonistically active bacteria occurred in parallel with changes in the total number of bacteria. Among S. aureus strains isolated from the subjects covered by the survey strains belonging to phagovar 80, as well as untyped strains, and among S. epidermidis strains those belonging to biovars I and II occurred most frequently. Strains belonging to the same biovar or phagovar differed in their plasmid markers. 相似文献
