保护科学前沿研究重视克服单一学科的局限而向超越自然科学和社会科学跨学科交叉融合转型。基于世界自然保护联盟-世界保护区委员会(IUCN-WCPA)自然保护地管理有效性框架,从规划制定、执行和评估三个方面系统梳理了我国保护科学的研究进展,分析了保护自然科学和社会科学在研究内容、方法和视角等方面的差异,识别出潜在的跨学科综合研究领域。结果表明,我国保护自然科学与社会科学研究大多相互独立、缺乏融合协作,少有的跨学科研究在整体性、系统性、兼容性、深入性和规范性上有待提高。自然科学家在介入社会科学研究时缺乏对现实制度的科学理解,所提出的保护政策和行动建议偏向理想主义,阻碍保护科学跨学科知识生产;社会科学家则缺乏自然科学方法和数据的知识积累,所提出的政策和行动建议脱离事实和证据,偏向主观主义,不利于保护科学知识进步。为此,构建了基于自然保护地适应性管理逻辑下的保护科学跨学科整合框架,以推动保护科学共同话语的形成,实现社会与生态的耦合协调发展。  相似文献

Microbial environmental monitoring represents one of the most useful methods to assess potential risks related to the integrity of cultural heritage and people’s health. The monitoring plan described in the present work is based on standardized techniques for measuring microbial air and surface contamination. Air contamination is assessed through both active and passive samplings, measuring the concentration of microbes in air (in colony forming units per cubic metre, CFU/m3) and the rate at which microorganisms settle on surfaces (expressed by the Index of Microbial Air Contamination, IMA, CFU/dm2/h). For surface contamination, two parameters are measured using nitrocellulose membranes: the Microbial Buildup (MB, the total number of microorganisms accumulated on a surface in an unknown period of time prior to the sampling) and the Hourly Microbial Fallout (HMF, the number of microorganisms that settle on a specific surface during 1 h). The monitoring plan was implemented at the Pilotta Palace in Parma, Italy, during the Correggio exhibition in 2009. Samplings were taken before and during opening times. Some microbial contamination was already detected before the arrival of visitors: air contamination mean values of 99.1 CFU/m3 and 5.2 CFU/dm2/h were recorded, while MB and HMF mean values for surfaces were 92 and 7 CFU/dm2, respectively. A significant increase was recorded in air contamination during opening times, with mean values of 323.7 CFU/m3 and 19.4 CFU/dm2/h; surface contamination values increased as well. This monitoring plan represents a contribution towards the definition of a much needed standardized methodology.  相似文献

The article presents the proposed concept of bioelements and the basic postulates of bioelementology for assessing and discussing them in the scientific community. It is known that chemical elements exist in the organism not by themselves, but in certain species having close interaction with other components. Such units are proposed to be called bioelements: the elementary functioning units of living matter, which are biologically active complexes of chemical elements as atoms, ions or nanoparticles with organic compounds of exogenous or biogenous origin. The scientific discipline that studies bioelements, is proposed to be called bioelementology. This discipline could lay the foundation for the integration of bioorganic chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, biophysics, molecular biology and other parts of life sciences.  相似文献

I am honored to receive the E. E. Just Award for 2010. In my invited essay, I have opted to discuss the state of diversity in the biological sciences with some recommendations for moving forward toward a more positive and inclusive academy. The need to develop cohorts of minority scientists as support groups and to serve as role models within our institutions is stressed, along with the need to ensure that minority scientists are truly included in all aspects of the academy. It is imperative that we increase our efforts to prepare for the unique challenges that we will face as the United States approaches a "majority minority" population in the next 50 years.  相似文献

Fouling of surfaces by abiotic and biotic substances has molecular, microbial, and macro-organismal levels of organization. Fouling involves molecular bonding and biological adhesives. Existing commercial solutions to fouling are antifouling or foul-release. Antifouling uses broad-spectrum biocides which kill foulers by virtue of oxidation or toxic metal ions. Foul-release coatings are dimethyl silicone polymers that foul, but clean easily. The best foul-release coatings also contain additives that kill organisms. Environmentally unacceptable consequences of toxic antifouling coatings, especially those based on organotins, have prompted interest in antifoulants found in living organisms. Laboratories worldwide now use bioassays with target fouling organisms to direct purification and identification of antifoulant compounds. Natural antifoulants are common and include toxins, anesthetics, surface-active agents, attachment and/or metamorphosis inhibitors and repellents. Development of commercial coatings using natural products is blocked by cost, the time horizon to meet government regulations and performance standards based upon coatings with unacceptable environmental impacts. If blocks are removed, the potential for environmentally acceptable solutions that combine natural products with organic biocides is high.  相似文献

Nanoparticles are materials with overall dimensions in the nanoscale, ie, under 100 nm. In recent years, these materials have emerged as important players in modem medicine, with clinical applications ranging from contrast agents in imaging to carriers for drug and gene delivery into tumors. Indeed, there are some instances where nanoparticles enable analyses and therapies that simply cannot be performed otherwise. However, nanoparticles also bring with them unique environmental and societal challenges, particularly in regard to toxicity. This review aims to highlight the major contributions of nanoparticles to modem medicine and also discuss environmental and societal aspects of their use.  相似文献

人类对生态系统的管理和干预促使生态系统服务权衡向协同转化,有助于生态系统服务综合效益提升。但当前缺乏对长时间序列分析背景下生态系统服务权衡协同驱动因素及其非线性影响的理解与把握。以芜湖市“生态系统服务功能极重要区”为研究案例,考虑生境质量、碳固定和土壤保持三种关键生态系统服务,基于多源数据,运用逐像元趋势叠加分析法评估1990—2020年间研究区生态系统服务变化趋势及其权衡协同空间分布规律,采用随机森林模型探索该区域生态系统服务权衡协同形成的关键驱动因素及其非线性影响效应。研究结果表明:(1)31年间芜湖市域生境质量显著下降区域面积约为提升面积的两倍,存在进一步衰退的风险。同时,城市扩张导致市郊边缘地带碳固定、土壤保持显著下降。(2)研究区生态系统服务供给能力受权衡协同影响显著,受影响区域总面积占比达64.48%。受权衡影响区域与协同影响区域存在显著空间差异。(3)土地利用强度是管理生态系统服务权衡向协同转化的主导因素。土地利用强度对权衡协同的影响表现出非线性特征并且存在影响阈值。当强度等级介于弱与中且偏向弱强度时对不同服务协同增益具有积极作用。  相似文献

The contribution of applied microbiology and biotechnology for the preservation and restoration of culturally relevant stoneworks has been used only to a minor extent. Until recently it only involved the identification of the living organisms accountable for the deterioration of those materials by classic phenotypic identification methods. This seems to be changing, given the amount of work recently published that focuses in the introduction of molecular-based techniques for the detection of microorganisms in historic stone. Such techniques complement and expand the information up till now gathered by conventional identification methods. Along with this, efforts are being made to develop and implement bio-based methodologies that may actively contribute to the bioremediation of weathered historic stoneworks. The present mini-review aims to provide an overview of recent findings on these matters.  相似文献

After a brief review of the history of time-of-flight (TOF) positron emission tomography (PET) instrumentation from the 1980s to present, the principles of TOF PET are introduced, the concept of time resolution and its effect on TOF gain in signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are discussed. The factors influencing the time resolution of a TOF PET scanner are presented, with focus on the intrinsic properties of scintillators of particular interest for TOF PET. Finally, some open issues, challenges and achievements of today's TOF PET reconstruction are reviewed: the structure of the data organization, the choice of analytical or iterative method, the recent experimental assessment of TOF image quality, and the most promising applications of TOF PET.  相似文献

Sterolomics can be thought of as the quantitative determination of the entire complement of molecules based on the cyclopentanoperhydrophenanthrene skeleton in a system. Mass spectrometry is the dominant analytical technology employed. In this article we highlight some pitfalls in analysis, data interpretation and annotation.
