We report here the complete genomic sequence of an avian-origin H3N2 canine influenza A virus containing multiple mutations in farmed dogs in southern China. Phylogenetic analyses of the sequences of all eight viral RNA segments demonstrated that these are wholly avian influenza viruses of the Asia lineage. To our knowledge, this is the first report of interspecies transmission of an avian H3N2 influenza virus to domestic farm dogs under natural conditions in Southern China. The amino acid information provided herein suggests that continued study is required to determine if this virus could be established in the farm dog population and pose potential threats to public health.  相似文献

A canine influenza virus (CIV) strain of avian origin designated A/Canine/Jiangsu/06/2010 (H3N2) was isolated from dogs exhibiting severe respiratory disease in Jiangsu, China. We announce the complete genome sequence of this viral strain and report major findings from the genomic analysis. This sequence will help us understand the molecular characteristics and evolutionary of H3N2 CIV in China.  相似文献

Previous studies indicate that the H3 influenza virus has the ability to establish infection upon interspecies transmission and poses a threat to mammals. Therefore, it is important to enhance the surveillance of H3 avian influenza viruses (AIVs). In this study, A/duck/Shanghai/C84/2009(H3N2) (C84) was isolated from a live poultry market in Shanghai, China. Using PCR and sequencing analyses, we obtained the whole-genome sequence of this virus. The H3N2 virus proved to be a novel multiple-gene reassortant AIV whose genes were derived from H3N2, H4N6, H6N2, and H9N2. Knowledge regarding the complete genome sequence of the C84 virus will be useful for epidemiological surveillance.  相似文献

We report the complete genome sequence of an H5N2 avian influenza virus (AIV) that was first isolated from a parrot in Guangdong in southern China in 2004. Genomic sequence and phylogenetic analyses showed that it was highly homologous with the North American H5N2 viruses and all eight genes of this virus belonged to the North American gene lineage. These data will help in the investigation of the epidemiology and host range of AIVs in southern China.  相似文献

We isolated a recombinant H9N2 avian influenza virus (AIV) from fresh egret feces in the Ardeidae protection region of the Dongting Lake wetland area in China, and it was designated A/Egret/Hunan/1/2012(H9N2). This is the first report of isolating H9N2 AIV from wild birds in the Dongting Lake wetland. Its eight gene segments are generated by reassortment of gene segments of different AIV subtypes. These results are helpful for understanding the epidemiology and evolution of AIV in wild birds during migration.  相似文献

We report here the complete genomic sequence of a novel H6N1 avian influenza virus strain, A/Duck/Guangxi/GXd-5/2010(H6N1), isolated from pockmark ducks in Guangxi Province, Southern China. All of the 8 gene segments of A/Duck/Guangxi/GXd-5/2010(H6N1) are attributed to the Eurasian lineage; the amino acid motif of the cleavage site between HA1 and HA2 was P-Q-I-E-T-R-G. These are typical characteristics of the low-pathogenicity avian influenza virus. This study will help to understand the epidemiology and molecular characteristics of avian influenza virus in ducks.  相似文献

Pigs are proposed to be “mixing vessel” hosts that can produce genetically novel reassortant viruses with pandemic potential. The appearance of any novel influenza viruses among pigs should pose concerns for human health. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of a novel H4N1 influenza virus [A/Swine/HuBei/06/2009(H4N1)] isolated from a pig in Central China in 2009. The genomic sequence analysis indicates that this virus is a wholly avian-original influenza virus. Each gene may come from different avian influenza viruses outside mainland China, suggesting the role of migratory birds in the dispersal of influenza virus.  相似文献

We report here the complete genomic sequence of a novel avian-like H3N2 swine influenza virus containing an H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza virus segment that was obtained from swine in southern China. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that this virus might originate from domestic aquatic birds. A/chicken/Nanjing/908/2009(H11N2) (CK908) was isolated from a live poultry market in Nanjing, China. Using PCR and sequencing analysis, we obtained the complete genome sequences of the CK908 virus. The sequence analysis demonstrated that this H11N2 virus was a novel reassortant AIV whose PB1, PB2, PA, HA, NP, NA, M, and NS genes originated from H9N2, H7N7, H5N2, H11N8, H3N6, H6N2, H1N1, and H5N1, respectively. Knowledge regarding the complete genome sequences of the CK908 virus will be useful for epidemiological surveillance.  相似文献

The genome of a porcine H1N1 influenza A strain is reported in this study. The strain proved to be a monoreassortant strain with a typical porcine N1 gene on the genetic backbone of the pandemic H1N1 influenza A virus strain. Monitoring of descendants of the pandemic 2009 H1N1 strain is needed because of concerns that more-virulent strains may emerge in forthcoming epidemic seasons.  相似文献

The distribution and prevalence of H3 subtype influenza viruses in avian and mammalian hosts constitutes a potential threat to both human and avian health. We report a complete genome sequence of a novel reassortant H3N2 avian influenza virus. Phylogenetic analysis showed that HA and NA showed the highest sequence homologies with those of A/white-backed munia/Hong Kong/4519/2009 (H3N2). However, the internal genes had the highest sequence homologies with those of H6 and H7 subtypes. The data provide further evidence of the existence of a natural reassortant H3N2 strain in southern China.  相似文献

We reported the complete genome sequence of an H5N5 avian influenza virus (AIV) that was first isolated from duck in central China in 2010. Genomic sequence and phylogenetic analyses showed that this virus was a recombinant between H5N1 AIV circulated in southeastern Asia and an N5 subtype influenza virus. An H5N1 avian influenza virus (AIV) designated A/Parrot/Guangdong/C99/2005 (H5N1) was first isolated from a sick parrot in Guangdong in southern China in 2005. The complete genome of this strain was analyzed. Genome sequence analysis showed that all 8 gene segments of the virus nucleotide had 99.0% homology to A/chicken/Henan/12/2004 (H5N1). Phylogenetic analysis demonstrated that all 8 gene segments of the virus were derived from the Eurasian lineage. The availability of genome sequences is useful to investigate the host range and genetic evolution of the H5N1 avian influenza virus in Southern China.  相似文献

A/duck/Shanghai/28-1/2009(H4N2) (DK28) was isolated from a live poultry market in Shanghai, China. Using PCR and sequencing analysis, we obtained the complete genome sequences of the DK28 virus. The sequence analysis demonstrated that this H4N2 virus was a novel multiple-gene reassortant avian influenza virus (AIV) whose genes originated from H1N1, H1N3, H3N3, H4N2, and H4N6. A virulent rabies virus (RABV) strain, GD-SH-01, was isolated from brain tissue of a rabid pig in China.
