A strictly aerobic, gram-negative, non-motile, reddish-pink pigmented, rod-shaped strain designated N5EA6-3A2BT, was isolated from an unidentified marine sponge by use of a bait-streaked agar technique. Phylogenetic analyses based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that the novel isolate represented a distinct and deep evolutionary lineage of descent in the family Flammeovirgaceae within the phylum Bacteroidetes and clustered with as yet uncultured bacteria. The most closely related established species was Roseivirga spongicola UST030701-084T (89% sequence similarity) in the family of Flammeovirgaceae. The strain could be differentiated phenotypically and physiologically from recognized members of the family Flammeovirgaceae. The G+C content of DNA was 43 mol%, the major respiratory quinone was menaquinone 7 (MK-7) and iso-C15:0, C16:1ω5c and iso-C17:0 3-OH were the major fatty acids. From the distinct phylogenetic position and combination of genotypic and phenotypic characteristics, the name Porifericola rhodea gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. A Gram-negative, strictly aerobic, pale-yellow pigmented, rod-shaped bacterium designated A4O-5T was isolated from a red coloured marine alga (Chondrus ocellatus Holmes). Phylogenetic analyses based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated that the new strain was affiliated with the family Flavobacteriaceae and shared approximately 90 % sequence similarity with Leptobacterium flavescens YM3-0301T and Gangjinia marincola GJ16T. The strain could be differentiated phenotypically from the related members of the family Flavobacteriaceae. The major fatty acids of strain A4O-5T were identified as iso-C15:0, iso-C17:0 3-OH and summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c and/or C16:1 ω6c). A complex polar lipid profile was present consisting of phosphatidylethanolamine, an unidentified phospholipid, three unidentified amino lipids and an unidentified lipid. The DNA G+C content of the strain was determined to be 41.9 mol% and the major respiratory quinone was identified as menaquinone 6 (MK-6). From the distinct phylogenetic position and combination of genotypic and phenotypic characteristics, the strain is considered to represent a novel genus in the family Flavobacteriaceae, for which the name Citreitalea marina gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. A Gram-positive, rod-shaped, motile and spore-forming bacterium, designated ZLD-8T, was isolated from a desert soil sample collected from Xinjiang Province in north-west China, and subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic analysis. This isolate grew optimally at 30°C and pH 7.0. It grew with 0–4% NaCl (optimum, 0–1%). Comparative 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that strain ZLD-8T was closely related to members of the genus Bacillus, exhibiting the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to Bacillus kribbensis DSM 17871T (98.0%). The levels of 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with respect to other Bacillus species with validly published names were less than 96.3%. The DNA G + C content of strain ZLD-8T was 40.1 mol%. The strain contained MK-7 as the predominant menaquinone. The diagnostic diamino acid in the cell-wall peptidoglycan was meso-diaminopimelic acid. The major polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol and phosphatidylethanolamine. The major fatty acids (>5% of total fatty acids) were anteiso-C15:0 (39.56%), iso-C14:0 (25.69%), C16:1 ω7c alcohol (10.13%) and iso-C15:0 (5.27%). These chemotaxonomic results supported the affiliation of strain ZLD-8T to the genus Bacillus. However, low DNA–DNA relatedness values and distinguishing phenotypic characteristics allowed genotypic and phenotypic differentiation of strain ZLD-8T from recognized Bacillus species. On the basis of the polyphasic evidence presented, strain ZLD-8T is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Bacillus, for which the name Bacillus deserti sp. nov. is proposed. Two bacterial isolates from soil samples taken in Korea, strains YM2-7T and WD2-19T, were characterized using a polyphasic approach. The cells were strictly aerobic, Gram-positive, motile with peritrichous flagella, and rod-shaped. Both strains formed ellipsoidal bulging positioned subterminal spores. Phylogenetic analysis of their 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed a clear affiliation with the Firmicutes. The 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity between YM2-7T and WD2-19T was 96.5%. Strains YM2-7T and WD2-19T showed 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities of 93.0–96.5% to type strains of recognized Cohnella species. The G+C contents of the DNA of strains YM2-7T and WD2-19T were 52.2 and 55.6 mol%, respectively. The major fatty acids of strains YM2-7T and WD2-19T were anteiso-C15:0 (44.4%), C16:0 (19.2%), and iso-C16:0 (16.8%) and anteiso-C15:0 (46.5%), iso-C16:0 (21.8%), and C16:0 (11.2%), respectively. Both strains contained menaquinone with seven isoprene units (MK-7) as the predominant quinone. Both strains had diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and lysophosphatidylglycerol as the major polar lipids. Comparative analysis of phenotypic and phylogenetic traits indicated that strains YM2-7T and WD2-19T represented two novel species of the genus Cohnella. The names Cohnella soli sp. nov. (type strain YM2-7T =KACC 13346T =NBRC 106486T), and Cohnella suwonensis sp. nov. (type strain WD2-19T =KACC 13347T =NBRC 106485T) are proposed for these organisms.  相似文献

A Gram-negative, strictly aerobic, golden-yellow pigmented, non-motile, rod-shaped strain designated J36A-7T was isolated from an unidentified yellow-green coloured marine sponge. Phylogenetic analyses based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that the novel isolate was affiliated with the family Flavobacteriaceae of the phylum Bacteroidetes and that it showed highest sequence similarity (85.6 %) to Nonlabens dokdonensis DSW-6T. The strain could be differentiated phenotypically from recognized members of the family Flavobacteriaceae. The major fatty acids of strain J36A-7T were identified as iso-C16:0, iso-C17:0 3-OH and summed feature three as defined by the MIDI system (C16:1 ω7c and/or iso-C15:0 2-OH). The DNA G+C content was determined to be 31.2 mol%, the major respiratory quinone was identified as menaquinone 6 (MK-6) and a complex polar lipid profile was present consisting of phosphatidylethanolamine, two unidentified glycolipids, one unidentified aminolipid and one unidentified lipid. From the distinct phylogenetic position and combination of genotypic and phenotypic characteristics, the strain is considered to represent a novel genus for which the name Spongiimonas flava gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. A taxonomic study was conducted on BR7-21T, a bacterial strain isolated from the soil of a ginseng field in Baekdu Mountain. Comparative studies of the 16S rRNA gene sequence showed that the isolate was most closely related to Conexibacter woesei DSM 14684T, Solirubrobacter pauli ATCC BAA-492T, Patulibacter minatonensis JCM 12834T, with 93.8%, 92.4%, and 91.5% sequence similarity, respectively; each genus represented a family in the order Solirubrobacterales. Strain BR7-21T was Gram-reaction positive, non-spore forming, aerobic, non-motile, and short rod-shaped. It grew well on half-strength R2A medium. The G + C content of the genomic DNA was 73.9%. It contained meso-diaminopimelic acid in the cell wall and the major menaquinones were MK-7(H4) and MK-8(H4). The major fatty acids were summarized as (C16:1ω7c/iso-C15:0 2-OH), iso-C16:0, and C17:0 cyclo. On the basis of polyphasic evidence, it was proposed that strain BR7-21T should be placed in a new genus and species, for which the name Baekduia soli gen. nov., sp. nov. was proposed with the type strain BR7-21T (= KCTC 22257T = LMG 24797T). The family Baekduiaceae fam. nov. is proposed to encompass the genus Baekduia gen. nov.  相似文献

The strain could be differentiated phenotypically from recognized members of the family Flammeovirgaceae. The G+C content of the DNA is 52.6 mol%, the major respiratory quinone is menaquinone 7 (MK-7) and iso-C15:0, C16:1ω5c and iso-C15:1 G (the double-bond position indicated by capital letter is unknown) were the major fatty acids. From the distinct phylogenetic position and combination of genotypic and phenotypic characteristics, the strain represents a novel taxon for which the name Tunicatimonas pelagia gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. A gram-negative, motile, straight to curved rod shaped, pink pigmented bacterium was isolated from a soil sample collected from the rhizosphere of an Indian medicinal plant, Nerium indicum (Chuvanna arali) and subjected to a detailed polyphasic taxonomic study. The strain, designated as IMTB-1969T, matched with most of the phenotypic and chemotaxonomic properties of the genus Pontibacter and represents a novel species. The major fatty acids of the strain were monounsaturated iso/anteiso branched C17 fatty acids (45.1%) and iso-C15:0 (16.5%). MK-7 was the predominant isoprenoid quinone. According to 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, strain IMTB-1969T was indicated to belonged to the phylum Bacteroidetes and further phylogenetic analysis revealed that the strain IMTB-1969T belongs to the family Cytophagaceae and genus Pontibacter. The highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity was with Pontibacter korlensis CCTCC AB 206081T (97.2%) and lower sequence similarity was observed with other species in the genus Pontibacter (95.9–94.0%). DNA–DNA relatedness study of the strain IMTB-1969T confirmed that it represents a novel species. The G+C content of the genomic DNA was 52.2 (±0.5) mol%. The results of physiological and biochemical tests allowed the genotypic and phenotypic distinction of strain IMTB-1969T from its closest phylogenetic relatives. The strain IMTB-1969T should be classified as novel species of the genus Pontibacter, for which the name Pontibacter rhizosphera sp. nov. is proposed. A novel actinobacterium, strain DB165T, was isolated from cold waters of Llullaillaco Volcano Lake (6170 m asl) in Chile. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences identified strain DB165T as belonging to the genus Subtercola in the family Microbacteriaceae, sharing 97.4% of sequence similarity with Subtercola frigoramans DSM 13057T, 96.7% with Subtercola lobariae DSM 103962T, and 96.1% with Subtercola boreus DSM 13056T. The cells were observed to be Gram-positive, form rods with irregular morphology, and to grow best at 10–15 °C, pH 7 and in the absence of NaCl. The cross-linkage between the amino acids in its peptidoglycan is type B2γ; 2,4-diaminobutyric acid is the diagnostic diamino acid; the major respiratory quinones are MK-9 and MK-10; and the polar lipids consist of phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol, 5 glycolipids, 2 phospholipids and 5 additional polar lipids. The fatty acid profile of DB165T (5% >) contains iso-C14:0, iso-C16:0, anteiso-C15:0, anteiso-C17:0, and the dimethylacetal iso-C16:0 DMA. The genomic DNA G+C content of strain DB165T was determined to be 65 mol%. Based on the phylogenetic, phenotypic, and chemotaxonomic analyses presented in this study, strain DB165T (= DSM 105013T = JCM 32044T) represents a new species in the genus Subtercola, for which the name Subtercola vilae sp. nov. is proposed.  相似文献

A novel halophilic, filamentous actinobacterium, designated TRM 40136T, was isolated from a hypersaline habitat in Xinjiang Province, north-west China. The strain is aerobic, Gram-positive, halophilic, and the optimum NaCl concentration for growth is 10–15% (w/v). The whole-cell sugar pattern consists of xylose, glucose and arabinose. The predominant menaquinone is MK-6 (51.2%) and the major fatty acids are anteiso-C15:0 (35.2%), anteiso-C17:0 (15.9%) and iso-C15:0 (13.7%). The phospholipid pattern consists of phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylcholine and two unknown phospholipids. The G + C content of the genomic DNA is 68.9 mol%. Phylogenetic analysis showed that strain TRM 40136T had 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity of 96.1% with the closest described species Actinopolyspora mortivallis, and it can be distinguished from all species in the genus Actinopolyspora by using these data of polyphasic taxonomy study. On the basis of the polyphasic evidence, the strain TRM 40136T should be designated as a novel species of the genus Actinopolyspora for which the name Actinopolyspora xinjiangensis sp.nov. is proposed. Novel pinkish-orange pigmented, Gram-negative staining, half-moon shaped, non-motile, strictly aerobic strains designated AK24T and AK26 were isolated from water and sediment samples of Lonar Lake, Buldhana district, Maharahstra, India. Both strains were positive for oxidase, catalase and β-galactosidase activities. The predominant fatty acids were iso-C15:0 (41.5%), anteiso-C15:0 (9.7%), iso-C17:0 3OH (9.6%), iso-C17:1 ω9c (10.2%) and C16:1 ω7c/C16:1 ω6c/iso-C15:0 2OH (summed feature 3) (14.4%). The strains contained MK-7 as the major respiratory quinone, and phosphatidylethanolamine and five unidentified lipids as the polar lipids. Blast analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain AK24T showed that it was closely related to Aquiflexum balticum, with a pair-wise sequence similarity of 91.6%, as well as to Fontibacter ferrireducens, Belliella baltica and Indibacter alkaliphilus (91.3, 91.2 and 91.2% pair-wise sequence similarity, respectively), but it only had between 88.6 and 91.0% pair-wise sequence similarity to the rest of the family members. The MALDI-TOF assay reported no significant similarities for AK24T and AK26, since they potentially represented a new species. A MALDI MSP dendrogram showed close similarity between the two strains, but they maintained a distance from their phylogenetic neighbors. The genome of AK24T showed the presence of heavy metal tolerance genes, including the genes providing resistance to arsenic, cadmium, cobalt and zinc. A cluster of heat shock resistance genes was also found in the genome. Two lantibiotic producing genes, LanR and LasB, were also found in the genome of AK24T. Strains AK24T and AK26 were very closely related to each other with 99.5% pair-wise sequence similarity. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that the strains were members of the family Cyclobacteriaceae and they clustered with the genus Mariniradius, as well as with the genera Aquiflexum, Cecembia, Fontibacter, Indibacter, and Shivajiella. DNA–DNA hybridization between strains AK24T and AK26 showed a relatedness of 82% and their rep-PCR banding patterns were very similar. Based on data from the current polyphasic study, it is proposed that the isolates be placed in a new genus and species with the name Lunatimonas lonarensis gen. nov., sp. nov. The type strain of Lunatimonas lonarensis is AK24T (=JCM 18822T = MTCC 11627T).  相似文献

A Gram stain-negative, yellowish green-pigmented, facultatively anaerobic, motile, curved rod-shaped bacterium designated as strain JJ016T was isolated from an artificial lake in South Korea, and characterized using a polyphasic approach. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain JJ016T indicated that the isolate belonged to the family Rhodocyclaceae and exhibited 95.0% identity to Uliginosibacterium gangwonense 5YN10-9T. The major cellular fatty acids of the novel strain were summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω6c and/or C16:1 ω7c), C16:0, C14:0, and summed feature 8 (C18:1 ω7c and/or C18:1 ω6c). The DNA G+C content of strain JJ016T was 61.9 mol%. The major respiratory quinone and major polar lipid of strain JJ016T were ubiquinone-8 and phosphatidylethanolamine, respectively. Based on the morphological and physiological properties and the biochemical evidence presented, we concluded that strain JJ016T represents a novel species of a new genus in the family Rhodocyclaceae, for which the name Viridibacterium curvum gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. A novel Gram-stain-positive, slightly halophilic, catalase- and oxidase-positive, endospore-forming, motile, aerobic, rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain JSM 081003T, was isolated from non-saline forest soil in Hunan Province, China. Growth occurred with 0.5?C15% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 2?C4%) at pH 6.5?C10.5 (optimum pH 7.5?C8.5) and at 5?C40°C (optimum 30°C). meso-Diaminopimelic acid was present in the cell-wall peptidoglycan. The major cellular fatty acids were iso-C15:0, anteiso-C15:0 and iso-C14:0. Strain JSM 081003T contained MK-7 as the predominant respiratory quinone, and diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylglycerol as the major polar lipids. The genomic DNA G + C content of strain JSM 081003T was 40.9 mol%. A phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequence comparisons revealed that strain JSM 081003T should be assigned to the genus Bacillus, and was related most closely to the type strains of Bacillus lehensis (sequence similarity 99.6%), Bacillus oshimensis (99.4%) and Bacillus patagoniensis (96.6%); lower than 96.0% sequence similarity was observed with other Bacillus species. The combination of phylogenetic analysis, DNA?CDNA relatedness values, phenotypic characteristics and chemotaxonomic data supports the view that strain JSM 081003T represents a new species of the genus Bacillus, for which the name Bacillus hunanensis sp. nov. is proposed. A novel Gram-negative, orange pigmented, strictly aerobic bacterium, designated strain IP9T, was isolated from seawater at the sea shore of Incheon Eulwang-ri beach, South Korea. Cells of strain IP9T were observed to be straight or slightly curved rods and colonies to be round and convex. Strain IP9T was found to be catalase and oxidase positive, and non-motile. Growth was observed in the temperature range of 10–37 °C (optimum at 30 °C), pH range of 6–10 (optimum at pH 7–8) and salt concentration range of 0–7% (w/v) NaCl (optimum at 0–1%). On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity and phylogenetic analysis, strain IP9T was found to be related to the members of the family Flavobacteriaceae, being closely related to Hwangdonia seohaensis KCTC 32177T (95.3% sequence similarity). The DNA G?+?C content of the novel strain was determined to be 39.1 mol%. The major polar lipids were found to be phosphatidylethanolamine, three unidentified aminoglycolipids and two unidentified glycolipids. The major fatty acids (>?10%) were identified as iso-C15:0 and iso-C17:0 3-OH. The predominant quinone was found to be menaquinone 6 (MK-6). Based on the biochemical, phylogenetic and physiological data, we conclude that strain IP9T (=?KCTC 52523T?=?JCM 31732T) represents the type species of a novel genus of the family Flavobacteriaceae for which the name Thalassorhabdus aurantiaca gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed.  相似文献

Taxonomic studies were performed on three strains isolated from Cheonho reservoir in Cheonan, Korea. The isolates were Gram-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped, non-motile, catalase-positive, and oxidase-positive. Colonies on solid media were cream-yellow, smooth, shiny, and circular. Phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that these strains belong to the genus Flavobacterium. The strains shared 98.6–99.4% sequence similarity with each other and showed less than 97% similarity with members of the genus Flavobacterium with validly published names. The DNA-DNA hybridization results confirmed the separate genomic status of strains ARSA-42T, ARSA-103T, and ARSA-108T. The isolates contained menaqui-none-6 as the predominant menaquinone and iso-C15:0, iso-C15:0 3-OH, iso-Ci15:1 G, and iso-C16:0 3-OH as the major fatty acids. The genomic DNA G+C content of the isolates were 31.4–33.2 mol%. According to the phenotypic and genotypic data, these organisms are classified as representative of three novel species in the genus Flavobacterium, and the name Flavobacterium koreense sp. nov. (strain ARSA-42T =KCTC 23182T =JCM 17066T =KACC 14969T), Flavobacterium chungnamense sp. nov. (strain ARSA-103T =KCTC 23183T =JCM 17068T =KACC 14971T), and Flavobacterium cheonanense sp. nov. (strain ARSA-108T =KCTC 23184T =JCM 17069T =KACC 14972) are proposed.  相似文献

A bacterial strain, designated Iso4T, was isolated from the East Sea of Korea and was subjected to a poly-phasic taxonomy study including phenotypic and chemotaxonomic characteristics as well as 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. Cells of the strain were Gram-negative, motile, non-budding, non-stalked, and strictly aerobic. Strain Iso4T grew optimally at 20°C in the presence of 1∼2% (w/v) NaCl and at pH 6.9∼7.6. The major respiratory quinone was Q-10 and the major cellular fatty acids were C18:1 ω7c (53.5%), C17:1 ω5c (11.7%), C17:1 ω6c (8.1%), C16:0 (7.8%), C17:0 (4.8%), C15:0 (2.9%), and C16:1 ω5c (2.2%). The DNA G+C content of strain Iso4T was 56.2 mol%. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain Iso4T formed a monophyletic clade in the family Hyphomonadaceae, supported by high bootstrap value and was most closely related to the genus Hyphomonas (92∼94%), a member of marine bacteria in the family. The phenotypic, genotypic, and chemotaxonomic evidences also suggest strain Iso4T represents a novel genus and species in the family Hyphomonadaceae, for which the name Henriciella gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. A polyphasic taxonomic approach was used to characterize a Gram-negative, non-motile bacterium, designated MJ15T, that was isolated from soil of a GS-Caltex Oil reservoir in Korea. As shown by comparative 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, strain MJ15T belongs to genus Brevundimonas. The 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities ranged from 95.6–99.2% between strain MJ15T and validated representatives of the genus Brevundimonas. With respect to Brevundimonas species, strain MJ15T exhibited DNA-DNA relatedness values below 40.7%. The G+C content of the genomic DNA was 61.7 mol%. Strain MJ15T contained ubiquinone Q-10. The major fatty acids were C16:0 (27.7%), C19:0 cyclo ω8c (23.2%), summed feature 8 (containing C18:1 ω7c/C18:1 6c) (28.5%), and major hydroxyl fatty acid was C12:0 3OH (3.7%). Based upon its phenotypic and genotypic properties, as well as its phylogenetic distinctiveness, strain MJ15T (KCTC 22461T; JCM 16237T) should be classified in the genus Brevundimonas as the type strain of a novel species. The name Brevundimonas olei sp. nov. is proposed for this new species.  相似文献

A Gram staining negative, rod-shaped, aerobic bacterial strain J5-3T with a single polar flagellum was isolated from coking wastewater collected from Shaoguan, Guangdong, China. It was motile and capable of optimal growth at pH 6–8, 30 °C, and 0–2 % (w/v) NaCl. Its predominant fatty acids were 11-methyl C18:1 ω7c (29.2 %), C16:0 (20.6 %), C19:0 cyclo ω8c (18.2 %), C18:0 (11.0 %), and C18:1 ω7c/C18:1 ω6c (10.9 %) when grown on trypticase soy agar. The major polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, two unknown glycolipids (GL1, GL2), and two unknown phospholipid (PL1, PL2). The predominant ubiquinone was Q-10, and the genome DNA G+C content was 61.7 mol %. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that strain J5-3T belonged to the family Hyphomicrobiaceae in Alphaproteobacteria. It shared the 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities of 93.8–96.1 % with the genus Devosia, 94.5–94.8 % with the genus Pelagibacterium, and <92.0 % with all the other type strains in family Hyphomicrobiaceae. It can be distinguished from the closest phylogenetic neighbors based on several phenotypic and genotypic features, including α-galactosidase activity, tetracycline susceptibility, major fatty acid composition, polar lipid profile, DNA gyrase B subunit (gyrB) gene sequence, and random-amplified polymorphic DNA profile. Therefore, we consider strain J5-3T to represent a novel species of a novel genus within the family Hyphomicrobiaceae, for which the name Paradevosia shaoguanensis gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. A Gram-stain negative, aerobic, oxidase and catalase positive, non-flagellated, pink coloured bacterium with gliding motility, designated as strain UDD1T was isolated from soil. The bacterium lacked flexirubin-type pigments. Phylogenetic analysis based on its 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that strain UDD1T formed a lineage within the family Cytophagaceae of the phylum Bacteroidetes, and forms a distinct clade with type strains of the closely related genus Pontibacter with similarities of 91.36–93.62%. Strain UDD1T contained MK-7 as the predominant menaquinone and summed feature 4 (iso-C17:1 I and/or anteiso-C17:1 B) and iso-C15:0 as the major fatty acids. The major polar lipids were phosphatidylethanolamine and an unidentified glycolipid. The DNA G+C content of strain UDD1T was 49 mol%. On the basis of phenotypic, genotypic and phylogenetic analyses, the strain UDD1T represents a novel species of a new genus in the family Cytophagaceae, for which the name Edaphorhabdus rosea gen. nov., sp. nov., is proposed. A bacterial strain 5YN5-8T was isolated from peat layer on Yongneup in Korea. Cells of strain 5YN5-8T were strictly aerobic, Gram-negative, coccobacilli, non-spore forming, and non-motile. The isolate exhibited optimal growth at 28°C, pH 7.0, and 0–1% NaCl. Results of 16S rRNA gene sequence analyses indicated a close relationship of this isolate to Acinetobacter calcoaceticus (97.8% similarity for strain DSM 30006T). It also exhibited 94.4–97.8% 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities to the validly published Acinetobacter species. The value for DNA-DNA hybridization between strain 5YN5-8T and other members of the genus Acinetobacter ranged from 16 to 28%. Predominant cellular fatty acids were C18:1 ω9c, summed feature 4 containing C15:0 iso 2-OH and/or C16:1 ω7c, and C16:0. The DNA G+C content was 43.9 mol%. Phylogenetic, phenotypic, and chemotaxonomic data accumulated in this study revealed that the isolate could be classified in a novel species of the genus Acinetobacter. The name Acinetobacter brisouii sp. nov. is proposed for the novel species, with 5YN5-8T (=KACC 11602T = DSM 18516T) as the type strain.  相似文献
