The impact of elevated ultraviolet-B radiation (UV-B, 280–320 nm) on membrane systems and lipid peroxidation, and possible involvement of active oxygen radicals was investigated in leaves of two UV-B susceptible rice cultivars (Oryza sativa L. cvs IR74 and Dular). Rice seedlings were grown in a greenhouse for 10 days and then treated with biologically effective UV-B (UV-BBE) radiation for 28 days. Oxidative stress effects were evaluated by measuring superoxide anion (O2) generation rate, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) content, malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration and relative electrolyte conductivity (EC) for IR74 and Dular at 0 (control), 6 or 13 kJ m?2 day?1 UV-BBE. Significant increases in these parameters were found in rice plants grown at 13 vs 0 kJ m?2 day?1 UV-BBE after 28 days; indicating that disruption of membrane systems may be an eventual reason for UV-B-induced injury in rice plants. There was a positive correlation between O2? generation and increases in EC or MDA in leaves. Activities of enzymatic and nonenzymatic free radical scavengers were measured for IR74 after 7, 14, 21 and 28 days of exposure to 13 or 0 UV-BBE to evaluate dynamics of these responses over time. Activities of catalase and superoxide dismutase (but not ascorbate peroxidase) and concentrations of ascorbic acid and glutathione were enhanced by 13 vs 0 UV-BBE after 14 days of UV-B exposure. Further exposure to 28 days of UV-B was associated with a decline in enzyme activities and ascorbic acid, but not glutathione. It is suggested that UV-B-induced injury may be associated with disturbance of active oxygen metabolism through the destruction and alteration of both enzymatic and nonenzymatic defense systems in rice.  相似文献

The penetration of natural and artificial UV-BBE (Biologically Effective UV-B, Caldwell 1971) and PAR (400–700 nm) in a grass canopy with increasing LAI was followed during 2 months. Overall, the transmission of UV-BBE sunlight is significantly higher than of PAR sunlight. This is mainly due to the higher proportion of diffuse light in the UV-B. Under cloudy conditions no difference between UV-BBE and PAR could be found. Sun angle and intensity of the radiation were less important in determining the penetration of light. Artificial light penetrates much more through the canopy, resulting in higher irradiation levels in the lower part of the canopy, but a lower UV-BBE/PAR ratio (since UV-B transmittance of the leaves is lower). The UV-BBE/PAR ratio reaching the leaves was influenced by LAI, sun angle, percent diffuse light and leaf angle. The large differences in UV-BBE/PAR ratio per unit leaf area under natural and artificial light conditions are important in understanding the influence of UV-B on plants.  相似文献

Effects of three levels of photosynthetic photon flux (PPF: 60, 160 and 300 μmol m−2s−1) were investigated in one-month-old Phalaenopsis plantlets acclimatised ex vitro. Optimal growth, chlorophyll and carotenoid concentations, and a high carotenoid:chlorophyll a ratio were obtained at 160 μmol m−2s−1, while net CO2 assimilation (A), stomatal conductance (g), transpiration rate (E) and leaf temperature peaked at 300 μmol m−2s−1, indicating the ability of the plants to grow ex vitro. Adverse effects of the highest PPF were reflected in loss of chlorophyll, biomass, non-protein thiol and cysteine, but increased proline. After acclimatisation, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, shikimate dehydrogenase, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) and cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD) increased, as did lignin. Peroxidases (POD), which play an important role in lignin synthesis, were induced in acclimatised plants. Polyphenol oxidase (PPO) and β-glucosidase (β-GS) activities increased to a maximum in acclimatised plants at 300 μmol m−2s−1. A positive correlation between PAL, CAD activity and lignin concentration was observed, especially at 160 and 300 μmol m−2s−1. The study concludes that enhancement of lignin biosynthesis probably not only adds rigidity to plant cell walls but also induces defence against radiation stress. A PPF of 160 μmol m−2s−1was suitable for acclimatisation when plants were transferred from in vitro conditions.  相似文献

Mini UV lamps were installed over antarctic plants at Léonie Island, Antarctic peninsula, and shoot length measurements of Deschampsia antarctica were performed during the austral summer January–February 1999.We studied the response of the antarctic hairgrass, Deschampsia antarctica to enhanced UV-B. In a climate room experiment we exposed tillers of Deschampsia antarctica, collected at Léonie Island, Antarctic peninsula, to ambient and enhanced levels of UV-B radiation. In this climate room experiment with 0, 2.5 and 5 kJ m–2 day–1 UV-BBE treatments we observed that length growth of shoots at 2.5 and 5 kJ m–2 day–1 UV-BBE was markedly reduced compared to 0 kJ m–2 day–1 UV-BBE. In addition, there was an increased number of shoots and increased leaf thickness with enhanced UV-B. The Relative Growth Rate (RGR) was not affected by UV-B, possibly because reduced shoot length growth by enhanced UV-B was compensated by increased tillering. Light response curves of net leaf photosynthesis of plants exposed to 5 kJ m–2 day–1 UV-BBE did not differ from those exposed to 0 kJ m–2 day–1 UV-BBE. The content of UV-B absorbing compounds of plants exposed to increasing UV-B did not significantly change.Mini UV-B lamp systems were installed in the field, to expose the terrestrial antarctic vegetation at Léonie Island to enhanced solar UV-B. In that study, the increment of shoot length of tagged plants of Deschampsia antarctica during the January-February 1999 at Léonie Island, was recorded and compared to shoot length growth under controlled conditions. The consequences of enhanced UV-B radiation as a result of ozone depletion for the terrestrial antarctic ecosytems are discussed.  相似文献

Summary Experiments were performed to determine the effects of UV-B (ultraviolet, 280–320 nm) radiation on motility and growth of phytoplankton from lakes and ponds in South Georgia. After 4 h of solar radiation and 4h artificial radiation (UV-BBE 11.6 kJ m-2 day-1, UV-B lamps) the swimming velocity of Cryptomonas sp. decreased. The growth rate of Botryococcus, Lyngbya sp. and Stauraslrum sp. did not show any significant variations between the different light conditions. The UV-B component was reduced by filtering solar radiation through glass bottles und cellulose acetate. Cloudy days had only 30% of the radiation of clear days in both the PAR (photosynthetic active radiation) and UV-B regions. The ponds contained large amounts of humic substances, which are responsible for the absorbance in the UV region.  相似文献

This study reports changes in the plant's chemical composition and the decomposition of this plant material under enhanced solar UV-B radiation. Calamagrostis epigeios, a dominant grass species in the dune grassland in The Netherlands, was grown outdoor on an experimental field under ambient and enhanced solar UV-B (5 and 7.5 kJ m-2 day-1 UV-BBE, respectively), corresponding to about 15% stratospheric ozone depletion. After one growing season aerial plant parts were harvested. The decomposition of this harvested leaf material was studied in a dune grassland and on the above mentioned experimental field under ambient (5 kJ m-2 day-1 UV-BBE) and enhanced (7.5 kJ m-2 day-1 UV-BBE) radiation, using litter bags. The chemical quality of the leaves grown under enhanced solar UV-B changed. There was an increase in the leaf content of lignin, while no significant changes occurred for the content of -cellulose, hemicellulose and tannins under enhanced UV-B. In the field, the rate of decomposition of leaf material grown under enhanced UV-B (with an increased content of lignin) was reduced. The content of lignin of the decomposing leaf material increased, but less under exposure to enhanced UV-B. The latter may be explained by photodegradation of the lignin. The consequences of enhanced UV-B radiation for carbon fluxes in the dune grassland ecosystem are discussed.  相似文献

Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.)Karst.) from seven seed sources was grown in a greenhouse with 8.3 and 14.7 kJ·m−2·d−1 m UV-BBE (biologically effective UV-B: 280–320 nm) irradiation, and with no supplemental irradiation as control. The seedlings total biomass (dry weight) and shoot growth decreased with high UV-B treatment but spruce from low elevation seed sources were more affected. The seedlings grown at the highest UV-B irradiance (14.7 kJ·m−2·d−1) showed from 5 to 38% inhibition of total biomass and 15 to 70 % shoot growth inhibition. Norway spruce populations from higher altitude seed sources manifested greater tolerance to UV-B radiation compared to plants from low altitudes. Changes in phospholipids and protective pigments were also determined. The plants grown at the lower UV-B irradiance (8.3 kJ·m−2·d−1) showed greater ability to concentrations UV-B-absorbing pigments then control plants. Chlorophyll a fluorescence parameter Rfd, (Rfd=(Fm-Fs)/Fs) showed a significant decrease in needles of UV-B treated plants and this correlated with the altitude of seed source. Exposure to UV-B affect levels of the ratio of variable to maximum fluorescence (Fv/Fm). Results from this study suggest that the response to increased levels of UV-B radiation is depended upon the ecotypic differentiation of Norway spruce and involved changes in metabolites in plant tissues.  相似文献

The net photosynthetic rate (P N), the sample room CO2 concentration (CO2S) and the intercellular CO2 concentration (C i) in response to PAR, of C3 (wheat and bean) and C4 (maize and three-colored amaranth) plants were measured. Results showed that photorespiration (R p) of wheat and bean could not occur at 2 % O2. At 2 % O2 and 0 μmol mol?1 CO2, P N can be used to estimate the rate of mitochondrial respiration in the light (R d). The R d decreased with increasing PAR, and ranged between 3.20 and 2.09 μmol CO2 m?2 s?1 in wheat. The trend was similar for bean (between 2.95 and 1.70 μmol CO2 m?2 s?1), maize (between 2.27 and 0.62 μmol CO2 m?2 s?1) and three-colored amaranth (between 1.37 and 0.49 μmol CO2 m?2 s?1). The widely observed phenomenon of R d being lower than R n can be attributed to refixation, rather than light inhibition. For all plants tested, CO2 recovery rates increased with increasing light intensity from 32 to 55 % (wheat), 29 to 59 % (bean), 54 to 87 % (maize) and 72 to 90 % (three-colored amaranth) at 50 and 2,000 μmol m?2 s?1, respectively.  相似文献

The photosynthetic characteristics through P-E curves and the effect of UV radiation on photosynthesis (measured as rapid adjustment of photochemistry, F v/F m) and DNA damage (as formation of CPDs) were studied in field specimens of green, red and brown algae collected from the eulittoral and sublittoral zone of Fildes Peninsula (King George Island, Antarctic). The content of phenolic compounds (phlorotannins) and the antioxidant activity were also studied in seven brown algae from 0 to 40 m depth. The results indicated that photosynthetic efficiency (α) was high and did not vary between different species and depths, while irradiances for saturation (E k) averaged 55 μmol m?2 s?1 in subtidal and 120 μmol m?2 s?1 in eulittoral species. The studied species exhibited notable short-term UV tolerance along the vertical zonation. In intertidal and shallow water species, decreases in F v/F m by UV radiation were between 0 and 18 %, while in sublittoral algae, decreases in F v/F m varied between 3 and 35 % relative to PAR treatment. In all species, recovery was high averaging 84–100 %. The formation of CPDs increased (15–150 %) under UV exposure, with the highest DNA damage found in some subtidal species. Phlorotannin content varied between 29 mg g?1 DW in Ascoseira mirabilis from 8 m depth and 156 mg g?1 DW in Desmarestia menziesii from 17 m depth. In general, phlorotannin concentrations were constitutively high in deeper sublittoral brown algae, which were correlated with higher antioxidant activities of algal extracts and low decreases in photosynthesis. UV radiation caused a strong decrease in phlorotannin content in the deep-water Himantothallus grandifolius, whereas in D. menziesii and Desmarestia anceps, induction of the synthesis of phlorotannins by UV radiation was observed. The antioxidant activity was in general less affected by UV radiation.  相似文献

Shade light found in ecological niches where plants are growing under a canopy or in proximity of taller neighbouring vegetation consist mainly of two separate light signals: low red to far-red ratio and low photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). The effect of the latter on the growth of 7-day old sunflower shoots was examined by assessing hypocotyl, cotyledon and leaf tissue growth under three varying PAR levels: near-normal of 1,000 μmol m?2 s?1, low of 100 μmol m?2 s?1 and very low of 10 μmol m?2 s?1. Then, the possible interaction between PAR signaling and ethylene in regulating growth of these sunflower tissues was investigated. The results showed that gradual decrease in PAR level increases hypocotyl elongation and decreases ethylene evolution. However, gradual decrease in PAR level decreases cotyledon and leaf growth and increases ethylene evolution. Thus it seems possible that PAR regulation of shoot growth is mediated by changes in ethylene evolution in tissue specific manner. This hypothesis was supported by experiments with the ethylene releasing factor, ethephon, and the ethylene biosynthesis inhibitor, AVG, as well as by transfer experiments where sunflower seedlings were transferred from one PAR regime to another with subsequent growth and ethylene measurements.  相似文献

IR68 and Dular rice cultivars were grown under ambient, 13.0 (simulating 20% ozone depletion) and 19.1 (simulating 40% ozone depletion) kJ m-2 day-1 of biologically effective ultraviolet-B (UV-BBE) for 4 weeks. Plant height and leaf area were significantly reduced by supplemental UV-BBE radiation. Greater reduction in leaf area than of plant height was observed. A decrease in indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) content and increase in peroxidase and IAA oxidase activities of UV-B treated plants in both cultivars were observed compared with ambient control. Calmodulin content also decreased after plants were treated with high supplemental UV-B for two weeks and medium UV-B treatment for four weeks. The results indicated that peroxidase and IAA oxidase activities in rice leaves were stimulated by supplemental UV-B, resulting in the destruction of IAA which in turn may cause inhibition of rice leaf growth. Although the mechanism is unclear, calmodulin is most likely involved in leaf growth.  相似文献

Cyanobacteria produce phosphatases in response to phosphorus deficiency as some other autotrophs. However, little has been documented on the effects of key climate change factors, such as temperature rise and solar UV radiation (280–400 nm), on cyanobacterial alkaline phosphatase activity. Here, we found that the terrestrial cyanobacterium Nostoc flagelliforme showed higher activity of the enzyme with increasing temperature and pH levels, exhibiting maximal values at 45 °C and pH?11, respectively. However, when exposed to solar radiation in the presence of UV-A (320–400 nm) and UV-B (280–320 nm), significant reduction of the enzyme activity was observed at a photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) level of 300 W?m?2 (1,450 μmol photons m?2 s?1), which is equivalent or lower than the noontime level of solar PAR at the organism's habitats. UV-A and UV-A + UV-B induced about 21 and 39 % inhibition of the enzyme activity in the 3-h exposures. The decrease in the activity of phosphatase can be attributed to the UV radiation-induced inactivation of the enzyme and indirectly to the UV radiation-induced production of reactive oxygen species.  相似文献

Plants of Phaseolus vulgaris L. (cv. Stella) were grown in controlledconditions under three different irradiances of visible lightwith or without UV-B (280–320nm) radiation. The biologicallyeffective UV-B radiation (UV-BBE) was 6.17 kJ m–2 d–1,and simulated a c. 5% decrease in stratospheric ozone at 55.7?N,13.4?E. The photon flux densities of the photosyntheticallyactive radiation (PAR, 400–700 nm) were either 700 µmolm–2–1 (HL), 500, µmol m–2 s–1(ML) or 230 µmol m–2 s–1 PAR (LL). Under highlight (HL) conditions plus UV-B radiation, bean plants appearedmost resistant to the enhanced levels of UV-B radiation, andresponded only by increasing leaf thickness by c. 18%. A smallincrease in UV screening pigments was also observed. Both thelower irradiances (ML and LL) increased the sensitivity of theplants to UV-B radiation. Changes in leaf structure were alsoobserved. Photosystem II was inhibited under ML and LL togetherwith UV-B radiation, as determined by Chi fluorescence inductionand calculation of the fluorescence half-rise times. Leaf reflectivitymeasurements showed that the amount of PAR able to penetrateleaves of UV-B treated plants was reduced, and that a possiblecorrelation may exist between the reduced PAR levels, loss ofChi and lowered photosynthetic activity, especially for LL +UV-Bgrown plants, where surface reflection from leaves was highest.Changes in leaf chlorophyll content were mostly confined toplants grown under LL + UV-B, where a decrease of c. 20% wasfound. With regard to protective pigments (the carotenoids andUV screening pigments) plants subjected to different visiblelight conditions responded differently. Among the growth parametersmeasured, there was a substantial decrease in leaf area, particularlyunder LL + UV-B (c. 47% relative to controls), where leaf dryweight was also reduced by c. 25%. Supplementary UV-B (12.2 kJ m−2 d−1 UV-BBE) provided to Vigna radiata for 2 h d−1 suppressed the length of root, shoot and whole plants, number of leaves, total leaf area, leaf area index, specific leaf mass, fresh and dry mass of leaves and shoot, relative growth rate and net productivity. In unstressed green gram plants (10 kJ m−2 d−1 UV-BBE), triadimefon (TRIAD) (20 mg dm−3) enhanced growth in all parameters over control. The growth promoting effect of TRIAD enabled the UV-B impacted plants to overcome the growth inhibitions to varying degrees indicating its protective potential against UV-B stress. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Due to anthropogenic influences, solar UV-B irradiance at the earth’s surface is increasing. To determine the effects of enhanced UV-B radiation on photosynthetic characteristics of Prunus dulcis, two-year-old seedlings of the species were submitted to four levels of UV-B stress, namely 0 (UV-Bc), 4.42 (UV-B1), 7.32 (UV-B2) and 9.36 (UV-B3) kJ m−2 d−1. Effects of UV-B stress on a range of chlorophyll (Chl) fluorescence parameters (FPs), Chl contents and photosynthetic gas-exchange parameters were investigated. UV-B stress promoted an increase in minimal fluorescence of dark-adapted state (F0) and F0/Fm, and a decrease in variable fluorescence (Fv, Fv/Fm, Fv/F0 and F0/Fm) due to its adverse effects on photosystem II (PSII) activity. No significant change was observed for maximal fluorescence of dark-adapted state (Fm). Enhanced UV-B radiation caused a significant inhibition of net photosynthetic rate (P N) at UV-B2 and UV-B3 levels and this was accompanied by a reduction in stomatal conductance (g s) and transpiration rate (E). The contents of Chl a, b, and total Chl content (a+b) were also significantly reduced at increased UV-B stress. In general, adverse UV-B effects became significant at the highest tested radiation dose 9.36 kJ m−2 d−1. The most sensitive indicators for UV-B stress were Fv/F0, Chl a content and P N. Significant P<0.05 alteration in these parameters was found indicating the drastic effect of UV-B radiation on P. dulcis.  相似文献

Three cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) cultivars were exposed to a daily dose of 11.6 kJ m-2biologically effective ultraviolet-B (UV-BBe) radiation in an unshaded greenhouse before and/ or after infection by Colletotrichum lagenarium (Pass.) Ell. and Halst. or Cladosporium cucumerinum Ell. and Arth. and analyzed for disease development. Two of these cultivars, Poinsette and Calypso Hybrid, were disease resistant, while the third cultivar, Straight-8, was disease susceptible. Preinfectional treatment of 1 to 7 days with UV-BBE in Straight-8 led to greater severity of both diseases. Postinfectional UV treatment did not lead to increased disease severity caused by C. lagenarium, while preinfectional UV treatment in both Straight-8 and Poinsette substantially increased disease severity. Although resistant cultivars Poinsette and Calypso Hybrid showed increased anthracnose disease severity when exposed to UV-B, this effect was apparent only on the cotyledons. Both higher spore concentration and exposure to UV-B radiation resulted in greater disease severity. Of the cucumber cultivars tested for UV-B sensitivity, growth in Poinsette was most sensitive and Calypso Hybrid was least sensitive. These preliminary results indicate that the effects of UV-B radiation on disease development in cucumber vary depending on cultivar, timing and duration of UV-B exposure, inoculation level, and plant age.  相似文献

Cytokinins are a class of plant growth regulators that regulate several developmental processes in plants, and recently their role in counteracting the deleterious effects of abiotic stresses has been noted. The impacts of kinetin (10 µM, KN; an artificial cytokinin) on growth, photosystem II photochemistry, and nitrogen metabolism in tomato seedlings exposed to two levels (UV-B1, ambient+?1.2 kJ m?2 day?1, and UV-B2, ambient+?2.4 kJ m?2 day?1) of enhanced UV-B radiation were analyzed under open field condition. The growth, pigment contents, carbonic anhydrase activity, photosynthetic O2 yield, and values of chlorophyll a fluorescence parameters: F v/F 0, F v/F m or φP0, ψ 0, φE 0, and PIABS declined, whereas the values of energy flux parameters (ABS/RC, TR0/RC, ET0/RC, and DI0/RC) of PS II, efficiency of water splitting complex (F 0/F v), and respiratory rate of O2 uptake increased under UV-B stress. Likewise, UV-B exposure at both doses significantly inhibited the activity of enzymes involved in nitrogen metabolism: nitrate reductase, nitrite reductase, glutamine synthetase, and glutamate synthase. In contrast, an enhancing effect on glutamate dehydrogenase activity was observed under UV-B stress. Exogenous KN resulted in a significant attenuation in UV-B-induced negative effects on growth, pigments, photosynthesis, and nitrogen metabolism. The study concludes that exogenous KN improved the growth performance of tomato seedlings by attenuating the damaging effects of UV-B radiation on photochemistry of PS II and nitrogen metabolism, and the alleviating effect against the low dose (UV-B1) of UV-B was more pronounced.  相似文献

We have previously investigated the response mechanisms of photosystem II complexes from spinach to strong UV and visible irradiations (Wei et al J Photochem Photobiol B 104:118–125, 2011). In this work, we extend our study to the effects of strong light on the unusual cyanobacterium Acaryochloris marina, which is able to use chlorophyll d (Chl d) to harvest solar energy at a longer wavelength (740 nm). We found that ultraviolet (UV) or high level of visible and near-far red light is harmful to A. marina. Treatment with strong white light (1,200 μmol quanta m?2 s?1) caused a parallel decrease in PSII oxygen evolution of intact cells and in extracted pigments Chl d, zeaxanthin, and α-carotene analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography, with severe loss after 6 h. When cells were irradiated with 700 nm of light (100 μmol quanta m?2 s?1) there was also bleaching of Chl d and loss of photosynthetic activity. Interestingly, UVB radiation (138 μmol quanta m?2 s?1) caused a loss of photosynthetic activity without reduction in Chl d. Excess absorption of light by Chl d (visible or 700 nm) causes a reduction in photosynthesis and loss of pigments in light harvesting and photoprotection, likely by photoinhibition and inactivation of photosystem II, while inhibition of photosynthesis by UVB radiation may occur by release of Mn ion(s) in Mn4CaO5 center in photosystem II.  相似文献

Forest soils and canopies are major components of ecosystem CO2 and CH4 fluxes. In contrast, less is known about coarse woody debris and living tree stems, both of which function as active surfaces for CO2 and CH4 fluxes. We measured CO2 and CH4 fluxes from soils, coarse woody debris, and tree stems over the growing season in an upland temperate forest. Soils were CO2 sources (4.58 ± 2.46 µmol m?2 s?1, mean ± 1 SD) and net sinks of CH4 (?2.17 ± 1.60 nmol m?2 s?1). Coarse woody debris was a CO2 source (4.23 ± 3.42 µmol m?2 s?1) and net CH4 sink, but with large uncertainty (?0.27 ± 1.04 nmol m?2 s?1) and with substantial differences depending on wood decay status. Stems were CO2 sources (1.93 ± 1.63 µmol m?2 s?1), but also net CH4 sources (up to 0.98 nmol m?2 s?1), with a mean of 0.11 ± 0.21 nmol m?2 s?1 and significant differences depending on tree species. Stems of N. sylvatica, F. grandifolia, and L. tulipifera consistently emitted CH4, whereas stems of A. rubrum, B. lenta, and Q. spp. were intermittent sources. Coarse woody debris and stems accounted for 35% of total measured CO2 fluxes, whereas CH4 emissions from living stems offset net soil and CWD CH4 uptake by 3.5%. Our results demonstrate the importance of CH4 emissions from living stems in upland forests and the need to consider multiple forest components to understand and interpret ecosystem CO2 and CH4 dynamics.  相似文献

We evaluated the nighttime CO2 flux (ecosystem respiration) on Rishiri Island, located at the northern tip of Hokkaido, Japan, from 2009 to 2011, by using the relationship between atmospheric 222Rn and CO2 concentrations. The annual mean CO2 flux was 1.8 μmol m?2 s?1, with a maximum monthly mean in July (4.6 ± 2.6 μmol m?2 s?1) and a broad minimum from December to March (0.33 ± 0.29 μmol m?2 s?1). The annual mean was comparable to fluxes at the JapanFlux sites in northern Japan. During the season of snow cover (mid-December to early April), the CO2 flux was low (0.45 ± 0.43 μmol m?2 s?1). Total annual respiration was estimated at 679 ± 174 g cm?2, about 8 % of which occurred during the season of snow cover.  相似文献
