Two new aphids viz. Prociphilus (Stagona) himalayaensis sp. nov. infesting the roots of Pinus excelsa and an unidentified plant and Capitophorus tricholepidis sp. nov. infesting Tricholepis furcata, collected from Simla Himalayas and Kumaon Himalayas, respectively, of the North-west India are described. 相似文献

A new aphid genus Raychaudhuriella and two new specices viz. Raychaudhuriella myzaphoides and Rhopalosiphoninus sensoriatus are described from Himachal Pradesh, north-west Himalaya. The affinity of Raychaudhuriella gen. nov. is drawn with Aspidophorodon Verma, Cavariela del Guercio, Myazphis van der Goot, Tricaudatus Narzikulov and Vesiculaphis del Guercio. Figures and biometrical data of the new species have been provided. 相似文献

A new mealybug species, Chorizococcus zoysiaesp. n., feeding on Zoysia tenuifolia (Poaceae), is described from Taiwan. Adult female, third-instar female, second-instar female and first-instar nymph were described and illustrated in this article. Keys are provides to (a) separate this new species from similar species of Chorizococcus and those of same genus on zoysia grasses and (b) to identify instars of the new species. In addition, Chorizococcus mirzayansi Moghaddam is transferred to the genus Spilococcus as Spilococcus mirzayansi (Moghaddam), comb. n. 相似文献

Abstract. Populations of Planococcus cini, Planococcus ficus, Pseudococcus obscurus, Pseudococcus calceolanae and Pseudococcus longispinus were selected for immunoelectrophoretic tests from which correlation and distance coefficients were calculated. Cluster analysis of serological data allowed construction of a dendrogram in which the phylogenetic relationships among the five species are presented. The conclusions were found to be in agreement with modern views on taxonomic interrelations among the five species based on female and male morphology. The recent separation of Planococcus citn' and Planococcus ficus as independent species is emphasized. 相似文献

Identification of Planococcus citri (Homoptera: Pseudococcidae) and the description of a new species
JENNIFER M. COX 《Systematic Entomology》1981,6(1):47-53
Planococcus pacificus sp.n. is described from the South Pacific, Australia and South East Asia. P.citricus is synonymized with P.citri. A key and illustrations are given to separate the species discussed from each other and from the similar P.ficus group. 相似文献

The monotypic genus Mombnsinia was established by the writer (De Lotto, 1964) for the inclusion of Pseudococcus pulcherrimus De Lotto, 1960; a very peculiar mealy bug collected in Mombasa, Kenya, on the underside of leaves of Flacourtia indica L. To the genus is referred here the following new species, very closely related to the type, which has recently been collected in South Africa on a host belonging to the same plant family. 相似文献

Abstract. Eriopeltis varleyi from Wytham in Britain is described as new. The adult female and male are described and all stages are illustrated. Keys are provided for the identification of all known species of Eriopeltis, and to the males of the three species known from Britain. E. varleyi is univoltine and apparently specific to Brachypodiumpinnatum (L.) Beauv. Males and females occur in equal proportions, but many more males were produced when populations were reared under very warm dry conditions in the laboratory. The population studied at Wytham was parasitized by a number of species of chalcid wasps and a chamaemyid fly egg predator. 相似文献

A new species of Strophingia is described from males and females taken in Dorset and Hampshire. Its separation from Strophingia ericne is discussed, and notes on the host plants and geographical range of the two species are included. 相似文献

Thottea ponmudiana sp. nova from Kerala (India) can readily be distinguished from its closest allyTh. siliquosa and all the other known species of the genus by its yellow flowers with purple eyes, deeply lobed perianth with strongly reflexed margins, uniseriate stamens united in three bundles and strongly 4-angled, green, glabrescent fruits. 相似文献

A mass rearing program was developed for the pink pineapple mealybug (PPM), Dymsicoccus brevipes (Cockerell) (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae), to provide host material for producing the encyrtid parasitoid Anagyrus ananatis (Gahan). PPM individuals produce honeydew that accumulates on heavily infested squash and entraps crawlers and older instars. A new protocol was tested to reduce accumulated honeydew with minimal mortality to PPM. Butternut and kobocha squash were placed in rearing containers and covered with coarse vermiculite (>2.36?mm diameter) after being infested with PPM. Use of vermiculite removed the honeydew from the squash surface. PPM produced using vermiculite were easily harvested from the host squash, but mealybugs produced on squash without vermiculite were embedded within the honeydew. When individual kobocha squash fruit were inoculated with 300–400 mature PPM adults (>0.6?mm length), about 700 adult PPM (appropriate for A. ananatis production) were produced for each dollar value (USA) of squash fruit (i.e., ~1500?PPM per individual squash). 相似文献
