本文记述尾秽蝇属Pygophora Schiner 5新种,即异斑尾秽蝇P. immacularis Cui et Xue、球尾秽蝇P. orbiculata Cui et Zhang、锤尾秽蝇P. capitata Cui et Xue、指尾秽蝇P. digitata Cui et Xue和周氏尾秽蝇P. choui Cui et Xue。 模式标本异斑尾秽蝇存于中国科学院动物研究所;锤尾秽蝇存于西北农业大学昆虫博物馆;其余存于沈阳师范学院生物系。  相似文献

Coenosia tschernovi sp. n. is described and illustrated from the Altai and Tuva republics. Coenosia nigrotincta Hennig, 1961 and C. xuei Cui et Li, 1996, are redescribed; the latter species is recorded from Russia for the first time. The new “apukaensis” group is erected for several similar Asian species. Coenosia altaica Sorokina, 2009 is considered a junior synonym of C. subgracilis Xue et Cui, 2001. Supplements to the key to the Siberian representatives of Coenosia Meigen, 1826 (Sorokina, 2009), to include new and recently found species, are given.  相似文献

本文记述分别采自山西省和湖南省厕蝇属2新种,多突厕蝇FanniapolystylataWangetXue,sp.nov,新种与FanniaFuscinataChillcott,1961近缘,但触角第3节长为宽的2.5倍,盾片具暗褐色纵条,前中鬃呈2列,腋瓣淡黄色,各足股、胫节黄色,后股无后腹鬃列等即可区别。正模♂,山西省沁水,1991-06-16,王明福采、裂叶厕蝇FanniascissifoliaXue,WangetHuang,sp.nov.,新种与FanniaedentulaNishda,1973近缘,但复眼裸,触角第3节长为宽的2.5倍,盾片无纵条,腋瓣黄色,中胫后背鬃3,后面观侧尾叶上枝较直,其内侧具齿状利等即可区别。正模♂,湖南省常德,1984-03-11,黄耀明采;副模3♂♂,同正模。模式标本保存于沈阳师范学院昆虫研究所。  相似文献

New materials of a seed-like organ, Sphinxiocarpon wuhanium (Li, Hilton et Hemsley) Wang, Xue et Prestianni, from the lower part of the Wutung Formation (Frasnian) at Xiannüshan Quarry of Wuhan, eastern Hubei, China provide new insights into its dehiscence mechanism. It is suggested that the oblique, longitudinally striated fibers within the sporophyll tissue serve as a structural mechanic to dehisce, and that the fimbriately opened apex of S. wuhanium is likely a result of the tissular dissolution and mechanical dynamics within its sporophyll and sporangial wall when it becomes mature. Sphinxiocarpon Wang, Xue et Prestianni, neither a seed nor a preovule, has the closest affinity to lycopsids and might represent an aberrant developmental form and/or an ecological adaptation to the local adversity.  相似文献

Miniature parallel bioreactors are becoming increasingly important as tools to facilitate rapid bioprocess design. Once the most promising strain and culture conditions have been identified a suitable scale-up basis needs to be established in order that the cell growth rates and product yields achieved in small scale optimization studies are maintained at larger scales. Recently we have reported on the design of a miniature stirred bioreactor system capable of parallel operation [Gill et al. (2008); Biochem Eng J 39:164-176]. In order to enable the predictive scale-up of miniature bioreactor results the current study describes a more detailed investigation of the bioreactor mixing and oxygen mass transfer characteristics and the creation of predictive engineering correlations useful for scale-up studies. A Power number of 3.5 for the miniature turbine impeller was first established based on experimental ungassed power consumption measurements. The variation of the measured gassed to ungassed power ratio, P(g)/P(ug), was then shown to be adequately predicted by existing correlations proposed by Cui et al. [Cui et al. (1996); Chem Eng Sci 51:2631-2636] and Mockel et al. [Mockel et al. (1990); Acta Biotechnol 10:215-224]. A correlation relating the measured oxygen mass transfer coefficient, k(L)a, to the gassed power per unit volume and superficial gas velocity was also established for the miniature bioreactor. Based on these correlations a series of scale-up studies at matched k(L)a (0.06-0.11 s(-1)) and P(g)/V (657-2,960 W m(-3)) were performed for the batch growth of Escherichia coli TOP10 pQR239 using glycerol as a carbon source. Constant k(L)a was shown to be the most reliable basis for predictive scale-up of miniature bioreactor results to conventional laboratory scale. This gave good agreement in both cell growth and oxygen utilization kinetics over the range of k(L)a values investigated. The work described here thus gives further insight into the performance of the miniature bioreactor design and will aid its use as a tool for rapid fermentation process development.  相似文献

Insect pathogens play significant roles in the biocontrol of medical and agricultural pests. Cui et al. demonstrated that genetically modified (GM) fungi expressing host mosquito miRNAs could enhance the efficacy of the fungus by suppressing the host immune response. Wild or commercially grown, native and exotic fruit were collected in 30 localities in the Tucumán province (NW Argentina) from January 1990 to December 1995 to determine their status as hosts of Anastrepha fraterculus (Wiedemann) and/or Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann), the only two fruit fly species of economic and quarantine importance in Argentina. A total of 84,094 fruit (3,466.1 kg) representing 33 species (7 native and 26 exotic) in 15 plant families were sampled. We determined the following 17 host plant associations: Annona cherimola Miller (Annonaceae), Citrus paradisi Macfadyn (Rutaceae), Diospyros kaki L. (Ebenaceae), Eugenia uniflora L., Psidium guajava L., Myrcianthes pungens (Berg) Legrand (Myrtaceae), Ficus carica L. (Moraceae), Juglans australis Grisebach (Juglandaceae), Mangifera indica L. (Anacardiaceae), Eriobotrya japonica (Thunb.) Lindl., Prunus armeniaca L., P. domestica L., and P. persica (L.) Batsch (Rosaceae) were infested by both A. fraterculus and C. capitata. Citrus aurantium L., Citrus reticulata Blanco, Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck (Rutaceae), and Passiflora caerulea L. (Passifloraceae) were only infested by Ceratitis capitata. Out of a total of 99,627 adults that emerged from pupae, 69,180 (approximately 69.5%) were Anastrepha fraterculus, 30,138 (approximately 30.2%) were C. capitata, and 309 (approximately 0.3%) were an unidentified Anastrepha species. Anastrepha fraterculus predominated in native plant species while C. capitata did so in introduced species. Infestation rates (number of larvae/kg of fruit) varied sharply from year to year and between host plant species (overall there was a significant negative correlation between fruit size and infestation level). We provide information on fruiting phenology of all the reported hosts and discuss our findings in light of their practical (e.g., management of A. fraterculus and C. capitata in citrus groves) implications.  相似文献

After oviposition, females of the Mediterranean fruit fly Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann deposit a host-marking pheromone on the fruit surface that deters oviposition by conspecifics. Methanolic extracts of fruit fly faeces elicit a similar deterrent effect. The results of laboratory and field experiments using raw methanolic extracts of C. capitata faeces as an oviposition deterrent are reported. Laboratory bioassays revealed a significant positive relationship between concentration of faeces and the inhibition of oviposition responses by C. capitata. Treatment of halves of coffee bushes with methanolic extracts containing 0.1, 1.0 and 10 mg faeces ml(-1) resulted in a significant reduction of infestation only at the highest concentration (P=0.03). Treatment of blocks of coffee bushes with an extract of 10 mg faeces ml(-1) resulted in an 84% reduction in infestation by C. capitata in sprayed plants and a 56% reduction in adjacent untreated coffee bushes surrounding treated plots, probably due to the deterrent effect of host-marking pheromone on fly oviposition. We conclude that faeces contain oviposition deterrent substances that effectively reduce fruit infestations by C. capitata, suggesting a clear potential for the use of this infochemical in integrated management programmes targeted at this pest.  相似文献

Powders that adhere to insect cuticle can be used as carrier particles for synthetic insecticides, entomopathogens, or pheromones in insect control systems, and insects can be lured into contact with such powder mixtures by using attractants. Secondary transfer of adhesive powders to conspecifics during social interactions has been reported; however, this transfer relies on insects leaving the source of powder and continuing normal behavior when contaminated. We examined the ability of the Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann (Diptera: Tephritidae), to fly and mate after being contaminated with one of two adhesive powders: an electrostatic wax powder, Entostat, and a proprietary metallic powder, Entomag. During continuous observations for 1 h in a flight tunnel, male C. capitata made significantly more flights than females. Treating C. capitata with either powder significantly suppressed the flight activity of male C. capitata compared with untreated controls, whereas powder treatment had a negligible effect on female flight activity. Within 1 h, male C. capitata treated with Entomag recovered normal flight activity, but Entostat-treated males were not fully recovered. Virgin male C. capitata treated with either Entostat or Entomag were able to mate with virgin female C. capitata, but the onset of mating was delayed compared with control C. capitata by approximately 1 h. Even though the effect of powder uptake on behavior seemed to be temporary, scanning electron micrograph images of treated C. capitata showed that both powders were retained for > 24 h on most body parts. The adhesive powders showed potential for use as carrier particles for pesticides, entomopathogens, or pheromones in novel C. capitata control systems.  相似文献
