Four new species of trematodes of the genus Diplostomum are described from metacercariae found in fishes from Lake Tana in Ethiopia: Diplostomum garrae sp. n. from the lens of Garra dembecha, D. longicollis sp. n. from the lens of Barbus humilis, D. montanum sp. n. from the lens of Barbus humilis, and D. tilapiae sp. n. from the vitreous body of Oreochromis niloticus. The metacercariae of the new species considerably differ in morphology and size from those of all known Holarctic species. It is the first African record of metacercariae of the genus Diplostomum in fish.  相似文献

Primulina elegans (Gesneriaceae), a new species from Vietnam is described. This species is similar to P. gemella and P. diffusa in having stolons and papillose-hispid leaves, but is easily distinguished from them by having 9–15 cymes and corollas with two brown stripes on the adaxial lip and nine purplish lines on the abaxial lip. Furthermore, Primulina elegans differs from P. gemmella by its broadly infundibuliform corollas with purplish glandular pubescent filaments, and from P. diffusa by having three slightly purplish glandular pubescent staminodes.  相似文献

Secubelmis limpida n. sp., n. gen., is described from Montana, U.S.A. The monotypic genus resembles the lumbriculid genera Rhynchelmis and Tatriella in having atria in X, spermathecae in VIII, and semi-prosoporous male ducts. It differs from Tatriella in having paired atria and spermathecae, and from Rhynchelmis in having petiolate atria. The single prostate gland is unique within the Lumbriculidae. The new species appears to have a restricted range in the northern Rocky Mountains.  相似文献

A new species of Metacyclops is described from hyporheic waters and small rock depression with leaf litter in North Vietnam, the Tam Đao Mountains). Metacyclops amicitiae sp. n. can be distinguished from its congeners by the unique combination of the following characters: 12-segmented antennule, distal segment of P4 endopodite bearing a single apical spine, and the surface ornamentation of the intercoxal sclerites in P1–P4 (pilose on the distal margin of P1-P4 and spinulose on the caudal surface of P4). The latter character separates the new Metacyclops from its closest relative, Metacyclops ryukyuensis, known only from the Ryukyu Islands (Ishigaki). The genus Metacyclops with the new species described herein is also for the first time recorded from Vietnam. An identification key is provided to the south and east Asian species of the genus.  相似文献

One new species Belisanadenticulatasp. n. (♂) is reported from northern Vietnam based on material collected by fogging the forest canopy. This species resembles Belisanascharffi Huber, 2005, but can be distinguished by relatively long distance between proximal parts of proximo-lateral apophysis and distal apophysis on male chelicerae, by presence of a nearly saddle-shaped prolateral sclerite on procursus, and by different shape of retrolateral membranous flap on procursus. Type specimens are deposited in the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in Hanoi.  相似文献

We describe a new species of megophryid frog from Phu Yen Province in southern Vietnam. Leptolalax macrops sp. nov. is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following morphological attributes:(1) body size medium(SVL 28.0–29.3 mm in three adult males, 30.3 mm in single adult female);(2) supra-axillary glands present, creamy white; ventrolateral glands indistinct;(3) tympanum externally distinct;(4) dorsal skin roughly granular with larger tubercles, dermal ridges on dorsum absent;(5) rudimentary webbing present between fingers Ⅰ–Ⅱ and Ⅱ–Ⅲ; rudimentary webbing between all toes; fingers and toes without dermal fringes;(6) in life ventral surface greyish-violet with white speckling;(7) supratympanic fold distinct, dark brown in life;(8) iris bicolored, typically golden in upper half, fading to golden green in lower half;(9) tibia short(TbL/SVL 0.44–0.45 in males); and(10) eyes large and protuberant(ED/SVL 0.15–0.16 in males). From all congeners for which comparable sequences are available, the new species differs markedly in the 16 S rRNA mitochondrial gene sequence(P-distance5.7%). The new species is currently known only from montane evergreen tropical forests of Song Hinh District, Phu Yen Province, and M'Drak District of Dak Lak Province at elevations of 470–630 m a.s.l.. We suggest the new species should be considered as Data Deficient following the IUCN's Red List categories. We also report a previously unknown Leptolalax mt DNA lineage from an evergreen tropical forest in the Hoa Thinh District of Phu Yen Province, which may also represent an undescribed species.  相似文献

New species of the genera Gymnothorax (fam. Muraenidae) and Parapercis (fam. Mugiloididae) are described from coastal waters of central Vietnam. G. emmae sp. n. is a common species all along the coast from the Van Phong Bay to the Phan Thiet Bay and differs from other species of this genus in characters of coloration, dentition, and the vertebral formula. P. bicoloripes sp. n. is common in the Phan Thiet Bay and is also know from one specimen from the Nha Trang Bay; from other species of the genus, it differs in coloration and meristic characters.  相似文献

Two new nematode species, Beaninema nayaritense n. gen., n. sp. and Rhabdochona xiphophori n. sp., are described on the basis of the specimens recovered from the gall bladder and intestine of 2 fishes, Cichlasoma beani (Jordan) (Cichlidae, Perciformes) and Xiphophorus sp. (Poeciliidae, Cyprinodontiformes), respectively, from Mexico. The monotypic genus Beaninema differs from other rhabdochonid genera mainly in the presence of large conical teeth in the middle of the prostom. Rhabdochona xiphophori is characterized mainly by a unique structure of the prostom (presence of 6 anterior teeth; dorsal and ventral teeth unusually broad, with 2 lateral horns) and the shape of the deirids (bifurcated, with markedly long base).  相似文献

Two larval species of the genus Metorchis, M. bilis and M. xanthosomus, are reported from fishes of West Siberia. Larvae of the first species can develop into adult forms in birds (terns, gulls, ducks) and in mammals (cats, golden hamsters, white mice). Larvae of the second species developed only in ducks. Experimental infection of golden hamsters, white mice and black terns with M. xanthosomus failed. On the results of the experimental infection and literary data the synonyms, M. bilis and M. xanthosomus, are given.  相似文献

Synopsis A recent (1979) expedition to the Chagos Archipelago resulted in the collection of about 40 new taxa of fishes. A new genus,Trimmatom, and two new species,T. nanus andT. offucius, are described here. The new genus is characterized by having all pelvic-fin rays simple (unbranched), a scaleless body, no head pores, a wide gill opening extending anteroventrally to below the eye, and hypurals 1 and 2 fused to the complex formed by the fusion of the ural centrum and hypurals 3 and 4.T. nanuss andT. offucius are differentiated on the basis of fin ray counts and colour pattern.T. nanus is the smallest vertebrate yet to be described. Mature females with ovaries full of eggs are 8–10 mm in standard length.  相似文献

The genus Genarchella Travassos, Artigas & Pereira, 1928 is reinstated for some species from South American fishes previously attributed to Halipegus Looss, 1899. Aspects of the morphology of G. genarchella Travassos, Artigas & Pereira, 1928 and G. parva Travassos, Artigas & Pereira, 1928 are redescribed. Astyanax bimaculatus, Moenkhausia doceana, Oligosarcus robustus and Salminus maxillosus are recorded as new hosts of G. parva, and H. cryptorchis Mané-Garzon & Gascón, 1973 and H. szidati Yamaguti, 1971 [= G. tropica of Szidat (1954)] are listed amongst new synonyms of this species. Aspects of the morphology of Thometrema magnifica (Szidat, 1954) and T. overstreeti (Brooks, Mayes & Thorson, 1979) are redescribed. T. rioplatense Lunaschi, 1989 is considered a synonym of T. overstreeti. New host-records of T. overstreeti are Pimelodus maculatus and Rhamdia sp. G. genarchella of Hamann (1986) is considered as synonym of T. overstreeti. Paravitellotrema Watson, 1976, Caballeroiella Lamothe-Argumedo, 1977 and Quadripaludus Jimenez, Guajardo & Briseno, 1981 are considered synonyms of Genarchella. The features distinguishing Halipegus, Genarchella and Thometrema Amato, 1968 are discussed.  相似文献
