The direct and transplacental action of aflatoxin B1 was studied on organic cultures of the embryonic pulmonary tissue of mice of the A line, BD-IX rats and golden hamsters (Cricetus auratus W.). Its toxic action on the cultures and the absence of any blastomogenic effect was demonstrated. In experiments on mice the transplacental penetration of aflatoxin B1 led to an increase in the incidence of the breast tumours in the progeny.  相似文献

A pediatric bronchoscope was modified for use in the European hamster (Cricetus cricetus) and has been used successfully to obtain biopsy specimens from these animals. Biopsy specimens were obtained by means of small forceps with visual control given by the modified bronchoscope.  相似文献

The motility of the isolated Cricetus auratus uterus was studied and compared to that of other species. Oxitocyn, epinephrine, norepinephrine, histamine, 5-hydroxy-tryptamine and acetylcholine were used as spasmogen agents. There was not contractil response with epinephrine or nor-epinephrine. Histamine reduced basal tonus. There was contraction with acetylcholine, oxytocin and 5-hydroxy-tryptamine. Cricetus auratus uterus appeared more sensitive when the contraction was registered by the isometric method. No taquifilaxy was produced by 5-hydroxy-tryptamine, as opposed to such effect in rat uterus. The Cricetus auratus uterus has, therefore, shown similar reactivity to that of rat, but different from rabbit and guinea-pig.  相似文献

In this paper, we present an analysis of the sex chromosomes of four hamster species after application of different staining techniques. The mitotic X chromosomes show a striking similarity in G-banding pattern but rather great differences in their C-banding patterns. A presumably homologous euchromatic segment that exhibits two distinct G-bands appears in the X chromosome of each species. The Y chromosome of Cricetus cricetus is in contrast to those of the other species, because it reveals a relatively well-differentiated G- and C-banding pattern. In meiotic metaphase I, interstitial chiasmata can be found in the sex bivalents of Cricetus cricetus and Cricetulus griseus, whereas the gonosomes of Mesocricetus auratus and Phodopus sungorus sungorus are terminally associated. The regions that are involved in pairing or association are always heterochromatic.  相似文献

Forty-four cosmonauts participating in 28 main long-term (73–438 days) missions on the Mirorbital station performed functional tests with graded physical exercise using a bicycle ergometer. There were two types of this functional load. The cosmonauts that participated in the first eight main missions performed a two-step exercise with a total load power of 1150 W. In the remaining cosmonauts, the exercise was three-step, with a total power of 1350 W. The results obtained during the flight were compared with the results of the same tests performed before the flight, which served as control values for each cosmonaut. To estimate the load tolerance, the heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure, stroke volume (SV), cardiac output (CO), and cardiac index were analyzed. The data were grouped according to the load, taking into account the type of blood circulation for each group before and during the flight. The ratio between different types of blood circulation was found to change during the flight. The responses to both types of exercises before the flight were less favorable in the cases of the hyperkinetic type of circulation. In these cases, the dominance of the chronotropic function of the heart determined the increase in CO. In the cases of the hypo- and eukinetic types of circulation, the response to the exercise was close to normotonic. In microgravity, irrespective of the circulation type and the exercise, the mechanism of the CO formation changed: the effect of HR was dominant, and there was no increase in SV. Insufficient venous return to the chambers of the heart is the main cause of the decreased response of SV to exercises during spaceflight.  相似文献

Summary Two methods are described by which epithelial cells from toad urinary bladders can be obtained for analysis of their intracellular water and electrolyte contents. In the first, a method similar to that described in 1968 by J. T. Gatzy and W. O. Berndt, sheets of epithelial cells are scraped from bladders after incubation in sodium Ringer's and collagenase (400 mg/liter). The scraped cells were incubated under various conditions and their composition subsequently determined. Oxygen consumption was also measured. In the second method, epithelial cells were scraped from hemibladders removed from chambers. These cells were then analyzed without further incubation. The morphology of epithelial cells obtained by each method is illustrated. Both methods yield similar results and evidence is provided that the derived intracellular values obtained truly reflect the composition of the epithelial cells.  相似文献

This study presents a comparison of the mitotic chromosomes of the two species of hamsters Cricetus cricetus (European hamster) and Cricetulus griseus (Chinese hamster), which have the same chromosome number of 2n=22. — G-banding procedure reveals striking similarities in both karyotypes and gives the possibility to analyse structural changes so that two examples for Robertsonian rearrangement can be observed. — A remarkable kind of difference between the two karyotypes becomes obvious after C-banding procedure. While Cricetus cricetus shows a large amount of predominantly centromeric heterochromatin, in Cricetulus griseus C-bands are less conspicuous, and a few chromosomes do not exhibit any centromeric heterochromatin at all.  相似文献

The necropolis of S’Illot des Porros, one of the most important prehistoric funerary sites of the Balearic Islands (Spain), was in use from the VIth and Vth century BCE until the Ist century CE. Located in a funerary area which contains two cementeries and one sanctuary, this site is constituted by three funerary chambers named A, B and C, respectively. Investigations on all the human burnt bone remains of the chambers, carried out mainly by the X-ray diffraction and supplemented in some cases by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy pointed to the simultaneous use of inhumation and cremation funerary rites, probably due to existing social differences.In particular, it was argued that the chambers were differentiated, i.e., B was dedicated to inhumations and A to cremations, the cremations found in chamber B very likely being a result of a cleaning-purification of the burial area. Moreover, chamber C, which is the most ancient (IVth century BCE) and with the largest number of inhumed remains, contains the smallest number of remains that were exposed to fire and just in one case it seems possible to attribute a genuine high-temperature cremation.  相似文献

The physical behavior of total lipids, microsomes and microsomal lipids prepared from brain hemispheres of European Hamsters (Cricetus cricetus) was approached by the measure of the fluorescence polarization of the probe 1,6-diphenyl 1,3,5-hexatriene. We compare in this study the results obtained for two critical periods for a hibernator: winter (torpid state) and summer (active state). An increase in fluidity was noticed in the winter lipid and membrane preparations. The difference was however of very low magnitude, suggesting that only the microenvironment of some proteins was involved, rather than the bulk membrane fluidity.  相似文献

Early scalp responses evoked by stimulation of the infraorbital nerve (W1, W2, W3) have been investigated in 23 patients affected by tumours of the base of the skull (parasellar area and cerebello-pontine angle) and in 38 patients suffering from ‘idiopathic’ trigeminal neuralgia. Differences in conduction times between healthy and affected side were evaluated and confronted with data obtained from 30 normal volunteers.Alterations of the response were found in all the patients with tumours of the base of the skull who had clinical signs in the trigeminal area and in 7 of the 12 cases without such signs. The usual pattern of alteration in cases with tumours of the parasellar area was a parallel involvement of W2 and W3 (both absent or delayed to the same extent), whereas in tumours of the cerebello-pontine angle W3 was more seriously affected than W2. Wave W1 was never altered. Pre- and post-operative recording sessions in 2 patients showed definite improvement of the responses after removal of the tumour.In 9 patients suffering from ‘idiopathic’ trigeminal neuralgia delays of conduction were found on the painful side, suggesting that damage to the trigeminal root, possibly at its entry zone into the pons, had taken place. Retrogasserian injection of glycerol was performed in 12 of the 38 patients with trigeminal neuralgia. Stimulation of the operated side showed disappearance of W2 and W3 in 9 cases, prolonged W1–W3 interval in 2 cases and no alterations in 1 case. The extent of response alteration usually paralleled the clinical results.  相似文献

A compact, solid, spherico-ellipsoidal chamber (SEC), which has approaching 4 pi ("all around") light collection, has been developed for flow cytometry. This was mounted onto the stage of a standard fluorescence photomicroscope, and the camera was replaced by a photomultiplier. Both components can be added or removed in minutes. The increased light collection efficiency of the SEC (about 85%) compared with about 4% from standard chambers enabled a fluorescence microscope with a 50 W mercury vapour lamp to "double" as a flow cytometer. The system was tested with microbeads and cells stained for DNA with ethidium bromide, and results were comparable to those obtained with our laser-based instrument.  相似文献

Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) represent a new biological method for generating electricity directly from biodegradable compounds. Efficiency of MFCs using manure as substrate is generally low. This study proposed a new design by incorporating biocathodes into a three-chamber MFC, which yielded maximum power densities much higher than those reported in literature. The new design placed cylindrical anode chamber for easy stirring and two symmetrical cathodic chambers with reduced anode-cathode distance. The biocathodes were applied to reduce charge transfer resistance. Additionally, biocathode microbial community was cultured to enrich favorable microorganisms. With external loading of 100 Ω, the power densities for new biocathode MFC using 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10% total solids diary manure reached 7.85±1.0 W m(-3), 7.84±1.20 W m(-3), 8.15±0.20 W m(-3), 7.60±0.97 W m(-3) and 5.63±0.97 W m(-3), respectively. The pH drop as a result of manure hydrolysis limited the power output. To provide detailed information of the microbial community in the biocathode MFC, the 454-pyrosequencing technique was adopted. The Firmicutes, γ-, β-, α- and δ-Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes and Actinobacteria were the major groups on the anode, while γ-, β-, and α-Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes and Actinobacteria were the predominant groups on the cathode.  相似文献

通过对繁殖期雌雄大仓鼠胁腺重的比较研究发展雌雄鼠的胁腺重和体重分别存在正相关关系,非成年雌雄大仓鼠的胁腺重无显著性别差异,成年雄性大仓鼠的胁腺显著重于成年雌鼠,通过石蜡切片发现,雄鼠胁腺的皮脂细胞显著于雌鼠,对胁腺分泌物进行了气相色谱分析发现,雌雄胁腺分泌物的化学成分的种类和数量存在明显差异,本文从胁腺的形态,组织结构和化学成分三个方面初步揭示了胁腺在繁殖期具有性别别功能的机制。  相似文献

A replication study with some extensions was made to confirm enhancement of ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) activity in murine L929 fibroblasts after radiofrequency (RF) field exposure reported in earlier studies. L929 cells purchased from two cell banks were exposed for 2, 8, or 24 h to continuous wave or DAMPS (burst modulated at 50 Hz, with 33% duty cycle) signals at specific absorption rate (SAR) levels of 2.5 or 6.0 W/kg. Exposures were carried out in Crawford and waveguide chambers, at frequencies 835 and 872 MHz, respectively. The results did not confirm findings of previous studies reporting increased ODC activity in RF-exposed cells. When Crawford cell exposure system was used, ODC activity was either not affected (in the case of 8 or 24 h exposures) or decreased after 2 h exposure at the highest SAR level (6 W/kg). The decrease was most pronounced when cooling with air flow was not used, and is most likely related to increased temperature. The minor methodological differences (use of antibiotics, increased sensitivity of ODC assay) are not likely to explain the inconsistency of the findings of the present and previous studies. Different results were obtained in experiments with the waveguide system that involves more efficient temperature control. In this exposure system, ODC activity was increased after 8 h exposure at 6 W/kg. Further studies are warranted to explore whether this finding reflects a true non-thermal effect. The present study did not provide evidence for modulation-specific effects reported in earlier studies.  相似文献

We developed primers for eight polymorphic microsatellite loci in the endangered common hamster (Cricetus cricetus L.). Population genetic parameters were analysed on the basis of 70 adult individuals captured from a single population. Allele numbers per locus ranged from eight to 17. Expected and observed heterozygosities per locus ranged from 0.67 to 0.91 and from 0.41 to 0.8, respectively.  相似文献

Comparisons of national standard of air kerma for conventional and mammographic diagnostic X-ray radiation qualities were conducted by the IAEA. Eleven secondary standards dosimetry laboratories provided calibration data for Exradin A3 and Radcal RC6M transfer ionization chambers circulated. Each comparison result expressed as the ratio of the participant and IAEA calibration coefficient were within the acceptance limit of ±2.5%. From the 67 results of 11 participants and 10 available beam qualities, the comparison result was within its standard uncertainty in 63 cases, and within the expanded (k = 2) uncertainty in four cases. Detailed calibration uncertainty budgets from participant laboratories are presented. The relative standard calibration uncertainty of each participant was in the range of 0.5–1.3%. These results indicate that the calibration related uncertainty component is reasonable low for a clinical measurement. In addition to the calibration coefficient, other corrections should be applied for clinical measurement to achieve the recommended accuracy.  相似文献

The authors previously described a model of tissue engineering in rats that involves the insertion of a vascular pedicle and matrix material into a semirigid closed chamber, which is buried subcutaneously. The purpose of this study was to develop a comparable model in mice, which could enable genetic mutants to be used to more extensively study the mechanisms of the angiogenesis, matrix production, and cellular migration and differentiation that occur in these models. A model that involves placing a split silicone tube around blood vessels in the mouse groin was developed and was demonstrated to successfully induce the formation of new vascularized tissue. Two vessel configurations, namely, a flow-through pedicle (n = 18 for three time points) and a ligated vascular pedicle (n = 18), were compared. The suitability of chambers constructed from either polycarbonate or silicone and the effects of incorporating either Matrigel equivalent (n = 18) or poly(DL-lactic-co-glycolic acid) (n = 18) on angiogenesis and tissue production were also tested. Empty chambers, chambers with vessels only, and chambers with matrix only served as control chambers. The results demonstrated that a flow-through type of vascular pedicle, rather than a ligated pedicle, was more reliable in terms of patency, angiogenesis, and tissue production, as were silicone chambers, compared with polycarbonate chambers. Marked angiogenesis occurred with both types of extracellular matrix scaffolds, and there was evidence that native cells could migrate into and survive within the added matrix, generating a vascularized three-dimensional construct. When Matrigel was used as the matrix, the chambers filled with adipose tissue, creating a highly vascularized fat flap. In some cases, new breast-like acini and duct tissue appeared within the fat. When poly(dl-lactic-co-glycolic acid) was used, the chambers filled with granulation and fibrous tissue but no fat or breast tissue was observed. No significant amount of tissue was generated in the control chambers. Operative times were short (25 minutes), and two chambers could be inserted into each mouse. In summary, the authors have developed an in vivo murine model for studying angiogenesis and tissue-engineering applications that is technically simple and quick to establish, has a high patency rate, and is well tolerated by the animals.  相似文献

The genetic diversity of 12 populations in the present range of the common hamster Cricetus cricetus (Linnaeus, 1758) in Poland was established. The 366 bp of the mtDNA control region was sequenced for 195 individuals. As few as seven haplotypes were found and their distribution was geographically structured. The large geographic areas were fixed or almost fixed for a single haplotype and three groups of populations, that do not share any haplotypes, have been defined. Proportions of genetic diversity attributable to variation between groups of populations, between populations within groups and within populations were 93.64, 1.92 and 4.45% (SAMOVA: p < 0.001 for all estimates), respectively. Such pattern of variation is most probably the result of historical, postglacial bottlenecks and present genetic drift after the population decline in the last few decades.  相似文献
