Summary Thysanote alternans n. sp., a lernaeopodid copepod parasitic on Polynemus sextarius is described and illustrated. A key to 19 species of Thysanote is provided (two unnamed species included). Specific diagnosis within the genus is based on the number and shape of maxillary and posterior trunk processes. The limitations of their value as discriminant characteristics are discussed. Host affiliations of the members of the genus are examined. Distribution of Thysanote is shown to have two centres, one in the Indian Ocean and another, a smaller one, in the Caribbean. The connections between them are tenuous. ac]19810127  相似文献

A new species of Harmonicon F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1896 (Araneae, Dipluridae) is described, from a medium-sized lateritic cave in Parauapebas, Pará, Brazil. The male holotype and only specimen known of H. cerberus sp. n. was found near the entrance of Pequiá cave. This taxon is the fourth species described and the southernmost record for the genus. The new species displays some troglomorphic characteristics, such as reduction and merging of the posterior median and both pairs of lateral eyes and pale yellow to light brown coloration. Both characters are diagnostic when compared to the normal separated eyes and reddish to dark brown of other Harmonicon species. Other diagnostic characteristics are isolated, long, rigid setae distal to the lyra and the shape of the copulatory bulb. This is the second troglomorphic mygalomorph species from Brazil and the first from the Amazonian region.  相似文献

This work performed a seasonal and spatial survey of Drosophila groups, focusing on the repleta group species, in an enclave of xerophytic vegetation in the Araucaria forest phytophysiognomy. The Drosophilidae community, in terms of Drosophila groups, was seasonally affected probably because of cold winters of the highland Araucaria forest surveyed. The spatial variation of groups was not significant, but distinct distributions were observed, both in height and related to the fragment edge/interior, for some groups. Regarding the repleta group, no clear pattern of species seasonal and spatial distribution was detected, probably due to the observation that some species were collected in different seasons and occupied different regions of the area. The considerably high abundance of D. senei, compared to other studies, is one aspect that should be better investigated.  相似文献

Buller’s Albatross, Thalassarche bulleri, is a New Zealand breeding endemic that is frequently observed in the subtropical and sub-Antarctic South Pacific Ocean between Australia and Peru. However, in the South Atlantic Ocean, it is a vagrant, as information on its presence in this region is limited to only a few sightings. Here, we report a new record of T. bulleri in the south-western Atlantic Ocean off Argentina (55°06′13″S, 66°06′44″W) while investigating interactions between commercial fisheries and seabirds. This record provides new information about the distribution of this albatross species and its relation with fisheries outside of its regular range.  相似文献

Although the genus Leucothoe has been reported repeatedly in the Magellan Region, the citations in the Channels and Fjords Ecoregion were either unidentified or attributed to the previously considered cosmopolitan Leucothoe spinicarpa. In this work, Leucothoe kawesqari sp. n. is described, which can be distinguished from other species of the genus in the Southern Ocean by having eyes present, epimeral plates with no setae, anterior coxae not acutely produced or excavate, coxa 5 slightly bilobed, accessory flagellum present, mandibular palp article 3 shorter than ½ article 2, pereopods 5–7 basis expanded, ovoid, posterior margin weakly crenulate and telson apex irregularly truncated. The new species was found in hard substrates, both unvegetated and with macroalgae, mainly in kelp forest of Macrocystis pyrifera.  相似文献

Seven new species of Hypselostomatidae are described from the Chinese province Guangxi: Angustopila dominikae Páll-Gergely & Hunyadi, sp. n., Angustopila fabella Páll-Gergely & Hunyadi, sp. n., Angustopila subelevata Páll-Gergely & Hunyadi, sp. n., Angustopila szekeresi Páll-Gergely & Hunyadi, sp. n., Hypselostoma socialis Páll-Gergely & Hunyadi, sp. n., Hypselostoma lacrima Páll-Gergely & Hunyadi, sp. n. and Krobylos sinensis Páll-Gergely & Hunyadi, sp. n. The latter species is reported from three localities. All other new species are known only from the type locality. Specimens nearly identical to the type specimens of Angustopila huoyani Jochum, Slapnik & Páll-Gergely, 2014 were found in a cave in northern Guangxi, 500 km from the type locality. Adult individuals of Angustopila subelevata sp. n. (shell height = 0.83–0.91 mm, mean = 0.87 mm) and Angustopila dominikae sp. n. (shell height of the holotype = 0.86 mm) represent the smallest known members of the Hypselostomatidae, and thus are amongst the smallest land snails ever reported. We note that Pyramidula laosensis Saurin, 1953 might also belong to Krobylos. Paraboysidia neglecta van Benthem Jutting, 1961, which was previously included in Angustopila, is classified in Hypselostoma.  相似文献

Halichoeres raisneri, new species, is described from three specimens captured by the Johnson Sea Link submersible at 114-125 m off Wolf Island, Galápagos. Distinctive features of the new species include a dorsally projecting fleshy flap along the posterior three-quarters of the upper lip and the absence of a canine tooth at the corner of the upper jaw. The body color of freshly caught females is pale pink with two yellow stripes and five prominent pink spots above the uppermost stripe. Similarities between the new species and other labrids are discussed, and a key to the 16 nominal species of Labridae known from the Galápagos Islands is provided. Decodon melasma is recorded from the Archipelago for the first time.  相似文献

The genus Microstictia is characterized, its species are diagnosed and keyed; their distribution and collecting period summarized; and their taxonomic status discussed. Photographs of selected important characters are provided. Two new species are described, Microstictia pimensis from Arizona (in the rufescens species group) and M. eos from Florida (in the femorata species group). This is the first unambiguous record of Microstictia from the eastern USA. Based on this finding, M. femorata may actually have originated from Florida, which is frequently questioned. Microstictia minutula (described in Monedula), currently misinterpreted, is a valid name for M. texensis Gillaspy, new synonym. This new synonymy is largely based on female colour characters, whose significance is discussed. The species hitherto known as M. minutula is actually M. exigua (W. Fox), with M. divergens (J. Parker) as a new junior synonym.  相似文献

Using the example of a model group of macromycete (clavarioid fungi), a large-scale investigation into the mycological complex of the Eurasian Arctic is conducted. The species composition of clavarioid fungi’s complex is revealed in all longitudinal sectors and latitudinal subzones, and a comparative analysis is carried out. It has been determined that, among groups of aphyllophoroid fungi, the clavarioid life form is the most adapted to the extremally psychrophilic conditions of the Arctic. It is shown that the near-oceanic sectors are the richest, whereas the continental sectors are much poorer. The distribution of the species composition of fungi conforms to the similar distribution of flowering plants, especially hemicryptophytes. The average annual quantity of atmospheric precipitation is the leading climatic factor. The differences make it possible to subdivide the Eurasian Arctic into four mycogeographical regions: Atlantic (European), Siberian, Chukotian (Beringian), and High Arctic.  相似文献

One island group suggested to be an exception to the species–area Relationship is the Vanuatu Archipelago, a group of 13 large and 80 small islands in the southwest Pacific Ocean. To test the hypothesis that the lizard fauna of the Vanuatu Archipelago does not meet the predictions of the species-area relationship, and thus is depauperate, we compare diversity among several island groups in the southwest Pacific: Fiji, the Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Vanuatu. We found that the lizard diversity of Vanuatu meets the pattern of diversity predicted by the species-area relationship. The Solomon Islands, the largest and least isolated oceanic archipelago considered, has the greatest species diversity and endemism of the oceanic islands. Inclusion or exclusion of island groups based on factors such as geologic history or faunal source affects the strength of the relationship between diversity, area, and history of emergence, and influences perceptions of diversity within individual archipelagos. In addition to island size, factors such evolutionary time scale, speciation, and archipelago complexity influence species richness on islands.  相似文献

The endogean carabid Typhlocharis zaballosi n. sp., belonging to the T. gomezi group, is described and illustrated. The work provides diagnostic characters, in particular the structure of male and female genitalia, affinities to putative relatives and some remarks on its ecology and distribution. A key for the identification of all known species of the T. gomezi species group are provided. Some remarks on the external microsculpture of the last abdominal sternum “belt” of T. carinata Serrano & Aguiar 2006, T. quarta Pérez-González & Zaballos 2013, T. crespoi Serrano & Aguiar 2007 and T. zaballosi n. sp. are given. An overall revision of the presence/absence of this structure in the genus is provided and its taxonomic relevance is also discussed.  相似文献
