Differences in breast volume and contour are subjectively estimated by surgeons. 3D surface imaging using 3D scanners provides objective breast volume quantification, but precision and accuracy of the method requires verification. Breast volumes of five test individuals were assessed using a 3D surface scanner. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) reference volumes were obtained to verify and compare the 3D scan measurements. The anatomical thorax wall curvature was segmented using MRI data and compared to the interpolated curvature of the posterior breast volume delimitation of 3D scan data. MRI showed higher measurement precision, mean deviation (expressed as percentage of volume) of 1.10+/-0.34% compared to 1.63+/-0.53% for the 3D scanner. Mean MRI [right (left) breasts: 638 (629)+/-143 (138) cc] and 3D scan [right (left) breasts: 493 (497)+/-112 (116) cc] breast volumes significantly correlated [right (left) breasts: r=0.982 (0.977), p=0.003 (0.004)]. The posterior thorax wall of the 3D scan model showed high agreement with the MRI thorax wall curvature [mean positive (negative) deviation: 0.33 (-0.17)+/-0.37 cm]. High correspondence and correlation of 3D scan data with MRI-based verifications support 3D surface imaging as sufficiently precise and accurate for breast volume measurements.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to determine whether the type of capsulectomy, anterior or total, affects the recurrence of capsular contracture around subglandular silicone-gel breast implants. A retrospective analysis was performed of patients who underwent either anterior or total capsulectomy for Baker grade 3 or 4 subglandular capsular contracture in our unit. All patients were invited to a review clinic where their capsular status was assessed. There were 100 anterior- disc capsulectomies in 60 patients between 1988 and 1997 and 99 total capsulectomies in 60 patients between 1990 and 1998. The follow-up in the former group was a median of 7 years and mean 6.9 years, compared with median 2.5 and mean 3.1 years in the latter group. Eighty-six percent of the implants removed from both groups at capsulectomy were smooth-walled gel-filled implants. Sixty-nine breasts in the anterior group received textured gel implants at capsulectomy; the remaining 31 received polyurethane-coated Meme implants. In the total capsulectomy group, all but two breasts (one patient) received textured gel implants. After review, the capsular status was known in 80 percent of the anterior and 92 percent of the total capsulectomy group. The review clinic found eight new contractures in five patients to have developed in the anterior compared with none in the total group. Recurrent contractures affected 50 percent of patients (46 percent of breasts) in the anterior and 11 percent of patients (10 percent of breasts) in the total capsulectomy group. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was applied to the data. By including only patients who received textured gel implants at capsulectomy, the Logrank found a statistical difference between the two treatment groups (0.01 < p < 0.5). We believe that this study provides some evidence that total capsulectomy for subglandular silicone breast implant capsular contracture results in a lower capsular recurrence than anterior- disc capsulectomy. The pattern and risk of recurrence after total capsulectomy and exchange for a modern textured prosthesis appear to approach those following primary augmentation.  相似文献

At the time of immediate breast reconstruction with submuscular implants, 76 consecutive patients (89 breasts) were randomized into two groups. One received a gel-saline, double-lumen implant with 40 cc of saline added to the outer lumen, while the other received the same implant plus 40 cc of saline and 16 mg methyl prednisolone (40 mg%). Patients were followed for a minimum of 3 years. The groups, which were matched for patient age and implant size, were evaluated at 3, 12, 24, and 36 months for capsular contracture, steroid atrophy, and other complications. With completion of the double-blind study, the patients with submuscular gel-saline implants with only saline added had an overall capsular contracture rate of 38 percent at 3 months, 38 percent at 12 months, and 44 percent at 24 and 36 months. Those with methyl prednisolone had an overall capsular contracture rate of 14 percent at 3 months, and this remained unchanged through the end of the study. The rates of all other complications were comparable. Methyl prednisolone in a dose of 16 mg in 40 cc saline (concentration 40 mg%), when used in the outer lumen of a double-lumen gel-saline implant in a submuscular pocket, is both safe and efficacious in reducing the risk of capsular contracture for a minimum of 3 years in patients undergoing immediate breast reconstruction with submuscular mammary implants.  相似文献

Detection of subclinical infection in significant breast implant capsules   总被引:8,自引:0,他引:8  
The pathogenesis of fibrous capsular contracture after augmentation mammaplasty is still debated. One hypothesis implicates low-grade bacterial infections as a cause. The presence of a staphylococcal biofilm in a patient with recurrent capsular contracture was previously reported. A comparative, prospective, blinded, clinical study of implants and capsules removed from patients with or without significant capsular contracture was conducted to investigate the association of biofilm contamination, breast implants, and capsular contracture.Capsule and implant samples obtained during explantation were tested by routine microbiological culture, sensitive broth culture (after maceration and sonication), and scanning electron microscopy. Clinical parameters were correlated with microbiological findings. A total of 48 implant and/or capsule samples were obtained from 27 breasts during a 22-month period. Of the 27 breasts, 19 exhibited significant contracture (Baker grade III/IV). The mean duration of implantation was 9.2 years (range, 0.4 to 26.0 years). Routine swab cultures obtained at the time of explantation were negative for bacterial growth for all samples. The sensitive broth culture technique yielded 24 positive samples (50 percent, n = 48). An analysis of capsules demonstrated that 17 of 19 samples obtained from patients with significant contracture were positive, compared with only one of eight samples obtained from patients with minimal or no contracture (p = 0.0006). Fourteen of the 17 positive cultures from significantly contracted breasts yielded coagulase-negative staphylococci, mainly, species of the Staphylococcus epidermidis group. The presence of coagulase-negative staphylococci was also significantly associated with capsular contracture (p = 0.01). There was no significant difference in the frequency of culture positivity for saline versus silicone implants (p = 0.885). Scanning electron microscopy confirmed the presence of extensive biofilm on implants and within capsules.Biofilm, in particular, S. epidermidis biofilm, was detected for a significant proportion of patients with capsular contracture. This implicates biofilm disease in the pathogenesis of contracture, and strategies for its prevention should be explored.  相似文献

Cellular proliferation has been implicated as an important predictor of biologic behavior in breast cancer. Cellular proliferation of 95 breast carcinomas was evaluated by comparing Ki-67 immunoreactivity in frozen sections quantitated by image analysis with S-phase and S + G2/M phase fraction determined by flow cytometry on nuclei extracted from fixed, paraffin-embedded sections (modified Hedley's technique). These parameters were correlated with traditional morphologic features of histologic grade, including mitotic count. Ki-67 immunoreactivity correlated with S-phase fraction determined by flow cytometry (r = .41, P = .001) and with S + G2/M phase fraction determined by flow cytometry (r = .29, P = .008). There was also a correlation between histologic grade and Ki-67 immunoreactivity (r = .30, P = .004) and between histologic grade and S-phase fraction (r = .42, P = .0001). Mitotic count correlated with Ki-67 immunoreactivity (r = .25, P = .015) and with S-phase fraction (r = .35, P = .001). Image and flow cytometric analysis systems provide comparable measurements of cellular proliferation; their measurements correlate with histologic grade and mitotic count in breast cancer.  相似文献

The presence of a silicone (poly-dimethyl siloxane) breast prosthesis in a breast reconstruction patient typically leads to fibrous tissue encapsulation of the prosthesis. Fibrous capsular contracture forces the prosthesis into a hardened sphere. The initially satisfactory cosmetic result can thus be changed into a deformed mass of inappropriate compliance. It is the author's hope with the present study to identify a material for implantation with a diminished tendency to form fibrous encapsulation, to improve the long-term results of prosthetic implants. The purpose of this investigation was to compare the early capsule production quality of poly-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (PHEMA) and poly-dimethyl siloxane (silicone). Each of five rats subcutaneously underwent implantation with both a disk of poly-dimethyl siloxane (control) and a similar disk of PHEMA. In this study, the extent of fibrous encapsulation was assessed at 6 weeks after implantation of the two disk types. The five disks of poly-dimethyl siloxane were embedded in fibrous tissue, whereas there was no apparent fibrous tissue surrounding the implants of PHEMA. The author concludes that the results for PHEMA were superior to those for silicone at 6 weeks with regard to fibrous encapsulation (p = 0.0312).  相似文献

Radiation-shielding of healthy tissue is mandatory in breast intraoperative electron radiotherapy (IOERT). In this regard, dedicated radioprotection disks have been introduced. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the performance of three radioprotection disks widely used for breast IOERT. A Monte Carlo simulation approach was used for this purpose. The considered disks included Al + Pb, PMMA + Copper, and PTFE + Steel. They were stimulated by means of the MCNPX Monte Carlo code at depths around R100 and R90 of different electron energies in a water phantom, and their impact on the dosimetric properties of the therapeutic beam was evaluated in both correct and upside down disk placements. The electron energy spectrum immediately above and below each disk was calculated and analyzed. Furthermore, performance characteristics of the studied disks such as backscatter factors (BSFs) and transmission factors (TFs) at different electron energies were determined and compared. The results show that the Al + Pb disk most effectively attenuates the beam, while at the same time exhibits maximum BSF values. Employing the PMMA + Copper disk can minimize the BSF value but at the expense of an increased TF. The Al + Pb disk showed the best performance from the radiation protection viewpoint, while its highest BSF values could lead to perturbation of dose homogeneity within the target volume. PTFE + Steel disk showed an intermediate performance regarding the electron backscattering and transmission among the studied disks. The reverse placement of each disk can substantially increase the BSF value as compared to the correct situation but had less impact on the TF value.  相似文献

Smooth-walled silicone implants have been widely used in breast surgery. Capsular contracture, causing undesirable firmness and spherical deformity, has been a common problem. Recent studies suggest that polyurethane-covered breast implants are associated with a lower incidence of capsular contracture. The statistical methodology employed in some of these studies, however, may be subject to criticism. Between July of 1984 and June of 1990 (72 months), 427 polyurethane breast implants were used in 279 patients and 439 smooth prostheses were used in 250 patients for a variety of aesthetic and reconstructive procedures. The occurrence of capsular contracture was carefully monitored and then analyzed using the Kaplan-Meier method of survival analysis. This method is particularly well suited to analysis of these types of clinical data because it allows for the fact that contractures occur at varying intervals after surgery and that follow-up of patients is incomplete. The probability of capsular contracture with smooth-walled prostheses was found to be significantly greater than with polyurethane-covered implants in each group of patients studied (p less than 0.05). Other complications occurred at a similar rate regardless of prosthesis type. This study supports the belief that polyurethane breast implants have a lower contracture rate; furthermore, it introduces the Kaplan-Meier method for analyzing the outcome of alternative plastic surgical therapies.  相似文献

Although textured silicone breast implants have been shown to reduce the incidence of capsular contracture, there is little evidence if this effect is maintained in the long term. It has been 10 years since the double-blind randomized trial in which 53 patients received either Mentor smooth (26) or textured silicone gel implants (27). Of the 14 patients who were not known to have developed a contracture in the smooth group, 11 were reviewed. Three had bilateral contractures. In the textured group, 18 of the 24 patients not known to have contractures were reviewed. None had developed contractures. At 10 years, the incidence of capsular contracture was 65 percent of patients with smooth implants (an increase of 6 percent on the 3-year results) and 11 percent for the textured implant patients (no change on the 3-year results). A database containing the details of 1100 patients reinforces these results by examining the differences in contracture rates of textured, smooth, and polyurethane-coated implants. The effect of submuscular placement on reducing contracture rates regardless of texturing is discussed, as is the apparent increase in capsular contracture in patients who smoke.  相似文献

In a previous prospective randomized clinical study comparing in the same patient textured and smooth saline-filled mammary implants (Biocell) with large pore size (300 to 600 microm), we saw no difference in capsular contracture. This study was undertaken in a similar way to compare capsular contracture around smooth and textured saline-filled prostheses with pores of small size. During a period of 7.5 years, the breast hardness was followed up, and at the end of the study patient satisfaction was evaluated.Twenty healthy women with a mean age of 30 years were operated on for breast augmentation. Two surgeons performed all operations in a standardized way. Each patient received subglandularly a Siltex textured saline-filled prosthesis with a pore size of 30 to 70 microm in one breast, and a smooth saline-filled prosthesis in the other. The hardness of the breasts was evaluated after 0.5, 1, and 7.5 years using Baker grading and applanation tonometry. Eighteen patients completed 1-year and 7.5-year follow-up. Two breasts with smooth prostheses were contracted after 6 months (Baker III or IV). After 1 year, four patients with smooth prostheses and one with a textured prosthesis had capsular contracture (p = 0.34). Seven and one-half years after surgery, six patents with smooth and four with textured implants had contracture (p = 0.66). On two patients with smooth prostheses and one patient with a textured prosthesis, the capsule around the implant hardened between 6 and 12 months. Between 1 year and 7.5 years, three breasts with smooth and textured implants contracted and one with a textured implant softened.The patients reported on a Visual Analogue Scale (1 to 10) the impact of the augmentation on their quality of life to be 9 +/- 1. Four patients preferred the breast with the smooth prosthesis, three preferred the breast with the textured prosthesis, and the others found both breasts equal. This study showed no significant difference of contracture with smooth versus fine textured implants. The majority of the patients preferred the smooth implants. The patients reported that the breast augmentation had had an extremely high impact on their quality of life.  相似文献

Aqueous acetic acid was used to fix and store specimens of tissue prior to dissociation into nuclear suspensions for flow cytometric quantitation of DNA. The optimum concentration was 20 volumes of glacial acetic acid in 80 volumes of distilled water. Both neoplastic and benign nuclei were easily released from the fixed tissue blocks by slicing and shaking. Residual undissociated tissue was suitable for microscopic examination to confirm its identity. The nuclei fluoresced brightly after staining with propidium iodide, and yielded histograms similar to those from unfixed samples. Acetic-acid fixation resulted in slightly broader G1 and G0 peaks in the DNA histograms in comparison to unfixed cells, but fluorescent debris was less and correlation between the flow cytometric S-phase fraction (SPF) and in vitro thymidine labelling index (TLI) was better than with unfixed cells. Twenty-one of thirty-nine acetic-acid-fixed breast carcinomas had DNA indices in excess of 1.0 (increased nuclear DNA content in comparison to benign cells), and eighteen had DNA indices of 1.0 (normal or near-normal). The SPF was usually in excess of the TLI, but the two were significantly correlated (r = 0.72, P less than 0.0001). However, a significant correlation of SPF with TLI held only for the group with DNA index greater than 1.0. DNA indices greater than 1.0 were associated with high SPF and TLI, and high SPF and TLI each associated with low content of estrogen receptor.  相似文献

Our center undertook an industry-funded, outcomes-based, multicenter, retrospective review to evaluate the safety and efficacy of saline-filled breast implants. Our review was part of a pre-market approval review process mandated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The design of our review was modeled on a Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation outcomes study previously conducted by our center. For this study, several significant changes were made to our previous protocol, including improved patient tracking, stronger biostatistical support, and a mandatory 10-year minimum patient follow-up period. Physician-reported and patient-reported data on 450 patients with 882 saline-filled breast implants placed between January 1, 1980, and June 30, 1986, were obtained. Mean patient follow-up period was 13.0 years. Most implants (93.9 percent) were placed for breast augmentation. Seventy-four percent were placed in a submammary position; 25.6 percent, subpectorally; and 0.2 percent, subcutaneously. The overall complication rate was 20.2 percent. Reoperation for capsular contracture or implant deflation was necessary in 104 of 450 patients (23.1 percent). Deflation occurred in 73 implants (8.3 percent) and was underreported according to the physicians' record review alone. This deflation rate is higher than the 5.5 percent previously reported by our center. However, 26 of these 73 deflations (35.6 percent) occurred in a single cohort of patients at one center using Surgitek saline implants. If this cohort is excluded, the deflation rate drops to 5.8 percent, a figure more consistent with data published in the literature and found in our previous study. Of the 73 deflations, spontaneous deflation was reported for 50 (74.6 percent), and the remainder were iatrogenic. Actuarial survival of the non-Surgitek implants was 98.4 percent to 99.8 percent at 5 years and 96.9 percent to 98.9 percent at 10 years (95 percent confidence interval). Risk factors for implant deflation included the use of Surgitek saline-filled implants (odds ratio = 17.5, p < 0.01), use of Heyer-Schulte and Mentor model 1800 implants (odds ratio = 3.0, p < 0.01), and implant size greater than 450 cc (odds ratio = 1.01, p < 0.02). Risk factors for capsular contracture included submammary implant position (odds ratio = 2.05, p = 0.03) and implant size greater than 450 cc (odds ratio = 1.01, p < 0.01). Overall, satisfaction was high: 93 percent of patients were "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with their implants. As in our earlier study, risk factors for patient dissatisfaction were reconstruction after mastectomy (odds ratio = 7.6, p = 0.011), significant breast firmness (odds ratio = 6.2, p < 0.001), and patient desire for smaller implants (odds ratio = 3.0, p = 0.020). In conclusion, our review provides additional outcomes-based evidence that saline-filled breast implants remain a safe, effective alternative to silicone gel-filled models.  相似文献

This study evaluated the effect of Summon Preferred Food Source on feeding, tunneling, and bait station discovery by the Formosan subterranean termite, Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki. Bioassays were conducted to determine whether Summon disks affected the aggregation and feeding behavior of termites and to determine whether the presence of Summon disks caused increased recruitment of termites to wood blocks. When termites encountered the disk, they immediately clustered on top of the disk. Termites were observed aggregating on top of the disk throughout the experiment. Consumption of Summon disks was significantly greater than consumption of cardboard disks in paired choice tests. The presence of a Summon disk on top of a wood block caused a significant increase in consumption of the wood block. Bioassays also were conducted to determine whether water extracts of Summon disks affected termite behavior. Consumption of filter paper disks treated with a water extract of Summon disks was significantly greater than consumption of control filter paper disks. Termites tunneled through sand treated with a water extract of Summon disks faster than they tunneled through untreated sand. In a field test, the rate of infestation of monitoring stations with a Summon disk was 3 times greater than the rate of infestations of stations without a disk.  相似文献

A study of volumes of the right and left breasts of 248 subjects was undertaken using biostereometric analysis. This measurement technique uses close-range stereophotogrammetry to characterize the shape of the breast and is noncontact, noninvasive, accurate, and rapid with respect to the subject involvement time. Volumes and volumetric differences between breast pairs were compared, using chi-square tests, with handedness, perception of breast size by each subject, age, and menstrual status. No significant relationship was found between the handedness of the subject and the larger breast volume. Several groups of subjects based on age and menstrual status were accurate in their perception of breast size difference. Analysis did not confirm the generally accepted clinical impression of left breast volume dominance. Although a size difference in breast pairs was documented, neither breast predominated.  相似文献

The use of stacked polyurethane-covered mammary implants has proven useful in improving results in the correction of deficiencies of mammary form and projection that can occur in certain cases of congenital and acquired breast deformity. The method has been used in 57 patients (102 breasts). The rate of significant complications, including seroma, rash, infection, hematoma, and capsular contracture, has been low (1 to 6 percent). Polyurethane-covered implants will maintain their position when used in a stacked system because of their unique biophysical characteristics, which include tissue bonding and a high friction coefficient between the implant surfaces.  相似文献

We recently showed that the correlation of gray and white matter volume with full scale IQ and the Working Memory dimension are completely mediated by common genetic factors (Posthuma et al., 2002). Here we examine whether the other WAIS III dimensions (Verbal Comprehension, Perceptual Organization, Processing Speed) are also related to gray and white matter volume, and whether any of the dimensions are related to cerebellar volume. Two overlapping samples provided 135 subjects from 60 extended twin families for whom both MRI scans and WAIS III data were available. All three brain volumes are related to Working Memory capacity (r = 0.27). This phenotypic correlation is completely due to a common underlying genetic factor. Processing Speed was genetically related to white matter volume (r(g) = 0.39). Perceptual Organization was both genetically (r(g) = 0.39) and environmentally (r(e) = -0.71) related to cerebellar volume. Verbal Comprehension was not related to any of the three brain volumes. It is concluded that brain volumes are genetically related to intelligence which suggests that genes that influence brain volume may also be important for intelligence. It is also noted however, that the direction of causation (i.e., do genes influence brain volume which in turn influences intelligence, or alternatively, do genes influence intelligence which in turn influences brain volume), or the presence or absence of pleiotropy has not been resolved yet.  相似文献

The quantitative characteristics of chromosomal nucleolus-organizing regions (NORs) and some other nucleolar components were studied on ultra-thin sections of pig embryo kidney cells (PK cells). It was shown that: 1) nucleoli-per-cell volumes were 3 times smaller in the G0 period than in the G2 period; 2) the number of fibrillar centers (FCs) per cell in the G0 period, the G2 period, and at metaphase was equal to 7, 33.7, and 8, respectively; 3) mean volumes of individual FCs in the G0 period (0.033 +/- 0.005 micron3), G2 period (0.014 +/- 0.001 micron3), and at metaphase (0.025 +/- 0.002 micron3) were significantly different; 4) the total volumes of FCs calculated per haploid set of chromosomes were practically the same in the G0 (0.105 micron3) and G2 (0.107 micron3) periods, but were twice as large as those at metaphase (0.04-0.05 micron3). These data show that partial activation and inactivation of ribosomal genes in interphase PK cells are not accompanied by a considerable change in the total volume of FCs and may be due to the fragmentation and fusion of individual FCs. Complete inactivation of ribosomal genes in mitosis results in a decrease of total volumes of FCs per cell; 5) in G0 and G2 periods the total volume of the dense fibrillar component per nucleolus is practically proportional to the nucleolus volume (r = 0.99); 6) in the G2 period, the nucleolus volume is also proportional to the number of FCs (r = 0.99; 7) the volume of the dense fibrillar component within individual fibrillar complexes is not a constant one.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to validate low radiation dose, contrast‐enhanced, multi‐detector computed tomography (MDCT) as a non‐invasive method for measuring ovarian volume in macaques. Computed tomography scans of four known‐volume phantoms and nine mature female cynomolgus macaques were acquired using a previously described, low radiation dose scanning protocol, intravenous contrast enhancement, and a 32‐slice MDCT scanner. Immediately following MDCT, ovaries were surgically removed and the ovarian weights were measured. The ovarian volumes were determined using water displacement. A veterinary radiologist who was unaware of actual volumes measured ovarian CT volumes three times, using a laptop computer, pen display tablet, hand‐traced regions of interest, and free image analysis software. A statistician selected and performed all tests comparing the actual and CT data. Ovaries were successfully located in all MDCT scans. The iliac arteries and veins, uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix, ureters, urinary bladder, rectum, and colon were also consistently visualized. Large antral follicles were detected in six ovaries. Phantom mean CT volume was 0.702±SD 0.504 cc and the mean actual volume was 0.743±SD 0.526 cc. Ovary mean CT volume was 0.258±SD 0.159 cc and mean water displacement volume was 0.257±SD 0.145 cc. For phantoms, the mean coefficient of variation for CT volumes was 2.5%. For ovaries, the least squares mean coefficient of variation for CT volumes was 5.4%. The ovarian CT volume was significantly associated with actual ovarian volume (ICC coefficient 0.79, regression coefficient 0.5, P=0.0006) and the actual ovarian weight (ICC coefficient 0.62, regression coefficient 0.6, P=0.015). There was no association between the CT volume accuracy and mean ovarian CT density (degree of intravenous contrast enhancement), and there was no proportional or fixed bias in the CT volume measurements. Experiments were conducted in rabbits comparing polyurethane foam-covered implants with otherwise identical smooth silicone gel implants. Using five objective methods of measurement of capsular contracture, no significant difference could be identified. The foam-covered implants consistently developed capsular contracture, although in most cases this was of mild degree and would not have been clinically significant. In this study we recorded auditory brainstem responses to airborne sounds to determine the hearing sensitivity of Xenopus laevis frogs and correlated their hearing profiles with middle ear characteristics. In newly metamorphosed frogs (body mass 0.5–0.76 gm, snout-vent length 17–20 mm) best hearing sensitivities were measured in the 2.4–2.8 kHz range, whereas optimal hearing sensitivity of older adults (body mass 18–90 gm; snout-vent length 57–100 mm) ranged from 1.0 to 1.2 kHz. Middle ear volumes reconstructed from serial sections showed approximate volume of 0.002 cc and 0.04–0.07 cc in newly metamorphosed and older frogs, respectively. This inverse frequency–volume relationship is consistent with the properties of an acoustic resonator indicating that differences in best hearing sensitivity are at least in part correlated to variation in middle ear volumes for airborne sounds. These results are consistent with peak frequency vibrational velocity profiles of Xenopus tympanic disk that have been shown to be dependent on underlying middle ear volumes and corroborate the occurrence of peak amplitudes of otoacoustic emissions in the 1.0–1.2 kHz region in adult Xenopus frogs.  相似文献
