The world's argasid tick fauna comprises 183 species in four genera, namely Argas, Carios, Ornithodoros and Otobius in the family Argasidae. The ixodid tick fauna consists of 241 species in the genus Ixodes and 442 species in the genera Amblyomma, Anomalohimalaya, Bothriocroton, Cosmiomma, Dermacentor, Haemaphysalis, Hyalomma, Margaropus, Nosomma, Rhipicentor and Rhipicephalus in the family Ixodidae, with the genus Boophilus becoming a subgenus of the genus Rhipicephalus. The family Nuttalliellidae is represented by the monospecific genus Nuttalliella. The species names of these ticks, based on seven previous complete or partial listings, as well as those of recently described new species, are presented in tabular format. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Background

The genus Arachis comprises 80 species and it is subdivided into nine taxonomic sections (Arachis, Caulorrhizae, Erectoides, Extranervosae, Heteranthae, Procumbentes, Rhizomatosae, Trierectoides, and Triseminatae). This genus is naturally confined to South America and most of its species are native to Brazil. In order to provide a better understanding of the evolution of the genus, we reconstructed the phylogeny of 45 species using the variation observed on nucleotide sequences in internal transcribed spacer regions (ITS1 and ITS2) and 5.8 S of nuclear ribosomal DNA.  相似文献

Filibryum, a new genus of the family Hypnaceae, is described to include three species from East Asia. Filibryum ogatae and F. yakoushimae are transferred to it from the genus Glossadelphus, while F. deguchianum is a newly described species. The genus is distinguished by the absence of a central strand in the stem, prorate leaf cells, and heteroblastic and deciduous stem leaves. Molecular data suggest that the genus is closely related to Taxiphyllum and the phylogenetic position of the new genus in the Hypnaceae is supported by an approximately unbiased (AU) test.  相似文献

The ant genus Prenolepis (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) is the nominal member of the recently established Prenolepis genus‐group within the subfamily Formicinae. Our molecular phylogenetic analyses using fragments from five nuclear genes (arginine kinase, carbomoylphosphate synthase, elongation factor 1‐alpha F1, elongation factor 1‐alpha F2, wingless) and one mitochondrial gene (cytochrome oxidase I) indicate that this genus is polyphyletic. Although the majority of Prenolepis species was found to belong to the same monophyletic group (Prenolepis sensu stricto), a smaller subset of Prenolepis species, all found in either Central America or the Greater Antilles, was robustly inferred to comprise a distinct lineage that is sister to the Old World genus Paraparatrechina. Here we describe this newly discovered lineage within the larger Prenolepis genus‐group clade. The genus Zatania, gen.n. is composed of five extant species (Zatania albimaculata, Zatania cisipa, Zatania gibberosa, Zatania gloriosa, sp.n. and Zatania karstica) and one Dominican amber fossil species (Zatania electra?, sp.n. ). These are medium‐sized ants (generally between 2.5 and 3 mm in total length) that are characterized by having long scapes and legs, and elongated mesosomata. A reliance on worker‐based taxonomy has previously prevented the discovery of this new lineage because of worker convergence consisting of various combinations of elongated mesosomata, long scapes and legs, and a constriction immediately behind the pronotum, observed in several distinct lineages within the Prenolepis genus‐group. However, we did find that male morphology complements our molecular results in revealing important diagnostic and potentially phylogenetically informative characters. Our study highlights the value for ant systematics to expand beyond its traditional foundation of worker‐based morphology and embrace character systems from other castes and molecular data.  相似文献

Studies on antagonistic marine actinomycetes from the Bay of Bengal   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Screening of 26 marine sediment samples near 9 islands of the Andaman Coast of the Bay of Bengal resulted in the isolation of 88 isolates of actinomycetes. On the basis of sporophore morphology and structure of the spore chain, 64 isolates were assigned to the genus Streptomyces, 8 isolates to the genus Micromonospora, 5 to the genus Nocardia, 7 to the genus Streptoverticilium and 4 to the genus Saccharopolyspora. Among 64 Streptomyces spp., 44 isolates showed antibacterial activity and 17 isolates showed antifungal activity. Three isolates showed very promising antagonistic activities against multi-drug resistant pathogens.  相似文献

A new genus, Versicolorisporium, is established for the coelomycetous fungus collected in Japan on dead culms of the bamboos Pleioblastus chino and Sasamorpha borealis. The type species of the genus, V. triseptatum, is characterized by the production of holoblastic, 3-septate, obovoid, versicolored conidia. Versicolorisporium is similar to Toxosporiella, Neohendersonia, Toxosporiopsis, and Scolicosporium in having versicolored conidia, but differs from these genera by the uniloculate pycnidial conidiomata with a periphysate ostiole, lacking paraphyses, and the conidia without black-banded septa. A BLAST search using LSU nrDNA sequence indicates that the new genus is a member of Pleosporales, Dothideomycetes.  相似文献

Kanouh, M., Tixier, M.‐S., Okassa, M. & Kreiter, S. (2010). Phylogenetic and biogeographic analysis of the genus Phytoseiulus (Acari: Phytoseiidae) —Zoologica Scripta, 39, 450–461. The taxonomy of the genus Phytoseiulus (sub‐family Amblyseiinae), has a tumultuous and confused history. This genus currently contains four species, but in previous revisions it contained five, sometimes grouped in two genera. There are no thorough phylogenetic analyses available for the group, analyses against which taxonomic and evolutionary hypotheses could be tested. The present study aims to apply morphological and molecular data to determine phylogenetic relationships among the four species presently included in this genus plus Afroseiulus robertsi, which was previously included in this genus. The new analyses show that the species of the genus Phytoseiulus do not constitute a monophyletic group. A delineation between (i) P. macropilis, P. persimilis, P. fragariae and (ii) P. longipes and A. robertsi is observed. Biogeographic data sets showed that the Neotropical and Afrotropical regions contain the highest diversity of species of Phytoseiulus and of their host plants. Consequently, the western part of Gondwana is hypothesized to be the probable centre of origin for this taxon.  相似文献

Plasmopara penniseti is the sole member of the genus Plasmopara parasitic to Poaceae, after the genus Viennotia had been described to accommodate Plasmopara oplismeni. Morphological, ultrastructural, and molecular phylogenetic data indicate that Plasmopara penniseti is not closely related to the generic type, and it is, therefore, transferred to the newly described genus Poakatesthia. The view that the genera of downy mildews with pyriform to vesicular haustoria (Basidiophora, Benua, Bremia, Paraperonospora, Plasmopara, Plasmoverna, and Protobremia) include species parasitic to Poaceae has to be discarded. All of these genera are apparently restricted to dicotyledonous hosts.  相似文献

Abstract. We investigated the phylogeny and taxonomy of the Prenolepis genus‐group, a clade of ants we define within the subfamily Formicinae comprising the genera Euprenolepis, Nylanderia, gen. rev. , Paraparatrechina, gen. rev. & stat. nov. , Paratrechina, Prenolepis and Pseudolasius. We inferred a phylogeny of the Prenolepis genus‐group using DNA sequence data from five genes (CAD, EF1αF1, EF1αF2, wingless and COI) sampled from 50 taxa. Based on the results of this phylogeny the taxonomy of the Prenolepis genus‐group was re‐examined. Paratrechina (broad sense) species segregated into three distinct, robust clades. Paratrechina longicornis represents a distinct lineage, a result consistent with morphological evidence; because this is the type species for the genus, Paratrechina is redefined as a monotypic genus. Two formerly synonymized subgenera, Nylanderia and Paraparatrechina, are raised to generic status in order to provide names for the other two clades. The majority of taxa formerly placed in Paratrechina, 133 species and subspecies, are transferred to Nylanderia, and 28 species and subspecies are transferred to Paraparatrechina. In addition, two species are transferred from Pseudolasius to Paraparatrechina and one species of Pseudolasius is transferred to Nylanderia. A morphological diagnosis for the worker caste of all six genera is provided, with a discussion of the morphological characters used to define each genus. Two genera, Prenolepis and Pseudolasius, were not recovered as monophyletic by the molecular data, and the implications of this result are discussed. A worker‐based key to the genera of the Prenolepis genus‐group is provided.  相似文献

The leafy liverwort genus Herbertus exhibits considerably variable morphology and widely disjunct distributions in both hemispheres. Here, the biogeographic history of the genus and its phylogenetic relationships with the focus on the taxonomically difficult, northern hemispheric disjunct species, were investigated. We conducted a time-calibrated, molecular-based phylogenetic analysis using psbA, trnL-F, and ITS1-2 loci and different approaches for ancestral range inference of the genus. Herbertus is inferred to have originated in the Cenozoic era about 51 million years ago, in an ancestral area including southern South America, the Neotropics, Oceania, and South-east Asia. The current distribution of the genus is supported to have resulted from long-term in situ persistence, short and long distance dispersals, extinctions and recolonizations. Postglacial range shifts between the southern and northern hemisphere in the genus show distinct patterns. In the southern hemisphere, Herbertus is characterized by in situ persistence, not showing further dispersal until the uplift of the Andean Cordillera. Species of the northern hemisphere showed wide range expansions and repeated recolonizations, including north- and southward dispersals, recolonizations and extinctions. Our results support that the ancestor of South-east Asiatic Herbertus had a Gondwanan origin and arrived in Asia via Indian Plate migration. The uplift of high mountains must have had a strong influence in the diversification and dispersal of the genus. Our results further suggest that climate changes must have had a profound effect on the evolution and biogeography of the species of Herbertus in the northern hemisphere, and might also have influenced the reproductive strategies of the genus. Few genetic differentiations amongst currently recognized species H. aduncus, H. dicranus, H. hutchinsiae, H. stramineus, H. delavayi, and H. kurzii, and amongst H. sendtneri, H. armitanus, and H. circinatus were shown, suggesting that the morphological characters that are currently used for delimiting species should be re-evaluated.  相似文献

A partial sequence of the cytb gene (382 bp) was amplified and sequenced from 35 individuals (mainly museum specimens) of the genus Pernis representing all valid taxa (10) and two taxa (P. p. gurneyi, P. p. japonicus) with questionable validity as well as representatives of the Old World Perninae, namely Henicopernis and Aviceda, to assess their relationships to the genus Pernis. Furthermore, Gypaetus barbatus, Neophron percnopterus, and Buteo buteo were included as outgroup taxa. In the trees derived from the sequence data, Aviceda represents the sister group of the genus Pernis. The genus Henicopernis and the Old World vultures Gypaetus andNeophron appear rather distantly related to Pernis. Within the genus Pernis, two of the described species (Pernis apivorus, Pernis ptilorhyncus) form monophyletic groups, whereas the relationships of the two clades representing three subspecies of Pernis celebensis are still uncertain. Although this study is based on comparatively short DNA‐sections, the trees deduced from these sequences can be considered as a first approach for inferring the phylogenetic relationships of the genus Pernis and related genera and for addressing questions concerning the evolutionary history, biogeography, and systematics of this group.  相似文献

An integrated molecular-genetic and morphological study of 14 species of 6 genera of Zoarcidae of the subfamily Lycodinae was performed. A high coincidence of study results obtained using both methods was found. The generic independence of the genus Petroschmidtia that includes species P. albonotata and P. toyamensis was justified. It was shown that species L. schmidti and L. nigrocaudatus belong to the genus Lycogrammoides; and the generic status of the genus Bothrocarichthys with species B. microcephalus and of the genus Allolepis with species A. hollandi was restored. The studied taxa fall into three large monophyletic groups that include species of the genus Petroschmidtia, species of the genus Lycodes, and species of the genera Bothrocara, Allolepis, Bothrocarichthys, and Lycogrammoides. Taxa of the last group are characterized by a large complex of morphological differences from the first two groups, including the absence of ventral fins. A key to species and genera of Lycogrammoides and Bothrocarichthys was compiled. The problem of determination of the time of divergence of the studied zoarcid-like fish using the concept of “molecular clock” and its calibration according to paleontological and paleogeographic data is discussed.
