Mysidacea (Crustacea) from the Minicoy lagoon (Lakshadweep, India) with description of a new species of Anisomysis

Four species of mysids collected from the Minicoy lagoon are reported. Anisomysis minicoyensis sp. nov. is distinguished from the related species by the shape of the rostrum, the relative length of the antennal scale and the short protuberances on the second segment of the mandibular palp. The other three species recorded are Siriella australiensis, Anisomysis truncata and unidentified species of subfamily Gastrosaccinae.     

Two new species of the genus Anisomysis (Anisomysis) (Crustacea,Mysida, Mysidae) from coral reef waters in Thailand

Two new species of Anisomysis Hansen, 1910 (Mysida, Mysidae), Anisomysis (Anisomysis) spinaintus sp. n. and Anisomysis (Anisomysis) phuketensis sp. n., from coral-reef waters in Thailand are described. Anisomysis (Anisomysis) spinaintus, collected in the Chaolao Beach, Chanthaburi Province, is distinguished from the closely allied species Anisomysis (Anisomysis) incisa Tattersall, 1936, and Anisomysis (Anisomysis) hawaiiensis Murano, 1995, by the presence of 6–9 spines on the apical cleft of telson, which are absent in the latter two allied species. The new species can also be distinguished from Anisomysis (Anisomysis) aikawai Ii, 1964, by the presence of a deep telson cleft and a large number of spines on the lateral margin of telson. Anisomysis (Anisomysis) phuketensis sp. n., collected in Ko Lon, Phuket, is distinguished from the allied species Anisomysis (Anisomysis) robustispina Panampunnayil, 1984, by having a short telson and a pair of long spines on the apical part of the telson. Keys to the subgenera and species of Anisomysis, including the two new species, are presented.     

Two new species belonging to the genus Anisomysis (Crustacea, Mysidacea) and a new record of Anisomysis bipartoculata from the Indian Ocean

This paper deals with three species of the genus Anisomysiscollected from the South West coast of Australia of which A.gracilis and A. robustispina are new to science and A. bipanocularais reported for the first time from the Indian Ocean.     

Two new species of Blechnum (Blechnaceae) from the neotropics

Blechnum moranianum is a new species similar toB. loxense, andB. nigrum is segregated from theB. fragile complex. Both are described and illustrated as result of the author's taxonomic fern work in Costa Rica. Blechnum moranianum es una especie nueva similar aB. loxense, yB. nigrum es segregada del complejoB. fragile. Ambas son aquí descritas e ilustradas como resultado de los trabajos taxonómicos del autor en los helechos de Costa Rica.     

Two new species of Zingiber (Zingiberaceae) from the Philippines

Zingiber banahaoense and Z. matutumense from the Philippines are described and illustrated.     

Two new species of Rhynchospora (Cyperaceae) from Mexico

Two new species ofRhynchospora from Mexico are described and illustrated. The white-bractedR. oaxacana is clearly a member of subsectionLongibracteatae which is otherwise found only in South America. A key to all the species of that subsection is provided. The thickened achene summit and slightly sunken style base appear to placeR. durangensis in sectionHarveyae.     

Two new species of Jatropha (Euphorbiaceae) from Somalia

The new species Jatropha miskatensis , from limestone slopes of the Cal Miskaat Range in north-eastern Somalia, and J. marmorata , from bushland on shallow soil over limestone just south of the Nugaal valley in north-eastern Somalia, are described. An illustration is provided for J. miskatensis.     

Two new species of Vigna (Leguminosae) from Somalia

The new species Vigna monantha ( V. subgen. Vigna sect. Catjang ) from coastal dunes of northern and central Somalia, and V. virescens ( V. subgen. Macrorhynchus ) from the inland of central and southern Somalia are described and illustrated. V. virescens is unique in Vigna by having branched stylar hairs, a character indicating a relationship between V. subgen. Macrorhynchus and the monotypic Wajira.     

Two new species of Esterhazya (Scrophulariaceae) from Brazil

Barringer, Kerry (Department of Botany, Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago, IL 60605). Two new species of Esterhazya (Scrophulariaceae) from Brazil. Brittonia 37: 195–198. 1985.—Esterhazya petiolata is a distinctive species with ovate, petiolate leaves, spreading brances, and broadly tubular-campanulate flowers. It is known from the Serra Dourada of Goiás. Esterhazya eitenorum has narrow, lanceolate leaves, acute calyx lobes, and purple-pink flowers and is known from the planalto of Mt. Itatiaia.     

Two new species of Polygala (Polygalaceae) from Somalia

The new species Polygala praetermissa , a dwarf perennial herb growing in stony places on limestone, and P. dasanensis , a shrublet apparently confined to gypsum, are described. Both species occur in the Cal Miskaat Range in north-eastern Somalia, but P. praetermissa has a wider distribution in northern Somalia.     

Two new species of Stivalius (Siphonaptera--Pygiopsyllidae--Pygiopsyllinae) from Indonesia

The fleas, S. meridionalis n. sp. from Timor and S. franciscae n. sp. from Sulawesi, Indonesia are described and illustrated. S. meridionalis was collected in Central Timor (Timor Tengah) at elevations between 930 m and 1,520 m, mainly from the murine rodent Rattus tanezumi, although one specimen was recovered from a house shrew, Suncus murinus. S. franciscae was collected in Central Sulawesi (Sulawesi Tengah) at known elevations between 950 m and 2,255 m from six species of native endemic murine rodents, especially Rattus hoffmanni, and from two species of commensal murine rodents. One specimen of S. franciscae was also collected from the native endemic murine Paruromys dominator in North Sulawesi (Sulawesi Utara) at 1,780 m. These two new flea species are compared with the previously described taxa included in the genus Stivalius sensu stricto.     

Two new species of Acacia (Leguminosae-Mimosoideae) from Yemen

The new species Acacia harala and A. mahrana , both from southern Yemen, are described and illustrated. A. harala belongs to A. subgen. Acacia and is known from the Abyan and Shabwah Regions, whereas A. mahrana belongs to A. subgen. Aculeiferum and is known only from the Mahrah Region.     

Two new species of Serjania (Sapindaceae) from Brazil

Two new Brazilian species,Serjania fluminensis andS. unidentata, are described, illustrated, and discussed.     

Two new species of Acalypha (Euphorbiaceae) from Peru

Two new species of the genus Acalypha are described and illustrated., A. salicina and A. simplicistyla , based on Peruvian material. Comments on the systematics of related species are included.     

Two new species of Monadenium (Euphorbiaceae) from Somalia

Two species of Monadenium, M. gillettii related to M. ellenbeckii , and M. lindenii related to M. virgatum are described as new endemics of Somalia.     

Two new species of Habracanthus (Acanthaceae) from Colombia

Two new Colombian species ofHabracanthus,H. malacus from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta andH. latifolius from the Sierra de Perijá, are described, illustrated, and compared withH. antipharmacus, their closest relative.

Two new species of Boesenbergia are described from Temburong District, Brunei, Borneo and their relationships are discussed. Additional chromosome counts of Bosenbergia are included.
