The chelating behavior of 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis(2-aminobenzoylhydrazone) (H2dapa) towards manganese(II), cadmium(II) and oxovanadium(IV) ions has been studied by elemental analyses, conductance measurements, magnetic properties and spectral (IR, 1H NMR, UV-Vis and EPR) studies. The IR spectral studies suggest the pentadentate nature of the ligand with pyridine nitrogen, two azomethine nitrogens and two carbonyl oxygen atoms as the ligating sites. Six coordinate structure for [VO(H2dapa)]SO4 · H2O and seven coordinate structures for [Mn(H2dapa)(Cl)(H2O)]Cl · 2H2O and [Cd(H2dapa)Cl2] · H2O complexes have been proposed. Pentagonal bipyramidal geometry for [Mn(H2dapa)(Cl)(H2O)]Cl · 2H2O and [Cd(H2dapa)(Cl2)] · H2O complexes was confirmed by single crystal analysis. The X-band EPR spectra of the oxovanadium(IV) and manganese(II) complexes in the polycrystalline state at room (300 K) and also at liquid nitrogen temperature (77 K) were recorded and their salient features are reported.  相似文献

The preparation of a series of 1,2-phenylenedioxoborylcyclopentadienyl-metal complexes is described. These are of formula [M{η5-C5H4(BX)}Cl3] [M = Ti and X = CAT (2a), CATt (2b) or CATtt (2c); X = CATtt and M = Zr (4a) or Hf (4b)], [M{η5-C5H4(BX)}2Cl2] [M = Zr, X = CAT (3a) or CATt (3c); or M = Hf, X = CAT (3b) or CATt (3d)], [M{(μ-η5-C5H3BCAT)2 SiMe2}Cl2] [M = Zr (5a) or Hf (5b)], [M{η5-C5H3(BCAT)2}Cl3] [M = Zr (6a) or Hf (6b)], [M{η5-C5H4BCAT}3(THF)] [M = La (7a), Ce (7b) or Yb (7c)], [Sn{η5-C5 H4(BCATt)}Cl](8) and [Fe{η5-C5H4(BCATt)}2] (9). The abbreviations refer to BO2C6H4-1,2 (BCAT) and the 4-But (BCATt) and the (BCATtt) analogues. The compounds 2a-9 have been characterised by microanalysis, multinuclear NMR and mass spectra. Copper(II) cations coordinated with PMDTA (pentamethyldiethylenetriamine) and TMEDA (tetramethylethylenediamine) possess a high synthetic potential. The synthesis of these cations was carried out by metathesis reactions with silver salts. The cationic copper(II) complexes, [Cu(PMDTA)(Me2CO)Cl]+, [Cu(PMDTA)(H2O)Cl]+, [Cu(PMDTA)(DMF)]+, [Cu(PMDTA)Cl]+, [Cu(PMDTA)OAc]+, [Cu(PMDTA)(MeCN)2]2+, [Cu2(TMEDA)2Cl3]+ and [Cu(TMEDA)(MeCN)3]2+ were synthesised as PF6 salts, crystallised and characterised by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The acid-base properties and Cu(II), Ni(II), Ag(I) and Hg(II) binding abilities of PAMAM dendrimer, L, and of the simple model compounds, the tetraamides of EDTA and PDTA, L1, were studied in solution by pH-metric methods and by 1H NMR and UV-Vis spectroscopy. PAMAM is hexabasic and six pKa values have been determined and assigned. PAMAM forms five identifiable complexes with copper(II), [CuLH4]6+, [CuLH2]4+, [CuLH]3+, [CuL]2+ and [CuLH-1]+ in the pH range 2-11 and three with nickel(II), [NiLH]3+, [NiL]2+ and [NiLH-1]+ in the pH range 7-11. The complex [CuLH4]6+, which contains two tertiary nitrogen and three amide oxygen atoms coordinated to the metal ion, is less stable than the analogous EDTA and PDTA tetraamide complexes [CuL1]2+, which contain two tertiary nitrogen and four amide oxygen atoms, due to ring size and charge effects. With increasing pH, [CuLH4]6+ undergoes deprotonation of two coordinated amide groups to give [CuLH2]4+ with a concomitant change from O-amide to N-amidate coordination. Surprisingly and in contrast to the tetraamide complexes [CuL1]2+, these two deprotonation steps could not be separated. As expected the nickel(II) complexes are less stable than their copper(II) analogues. The tetra-N-methylamides of EDTA, L1(b), and PDTA form mononuclear and binuclear complexes with Hg(II). In the case of L1(b) these have stoichiometries HgL1(b)Cl2, [HgL1(b)H−2Cl2]2−, [Hg2L1(b)Cl2]2+, Hg2L1(b)H−2Cl2 and [Hg2L1(b)H−5Cl2]3−. Based on 1H NMR and pH-metric data the proposed structure for HgL1(b)Cl2, the main tetraamide ligand containing species in the pH range <3-6.5, contains L1(b) coordinated to the metal ion through the two tertiary nitrogens and two amide oxygens while the structure of [HgL1(b)H−2Cl2]2−, the main tetraamide ligand species at pH 7.5-9.0, contains the ligand similarly coordinated but through two amidate nitrogen atoms instead of amide oxygens. The proposed structure of [Hg2L1(b)Cl2]2+, a minor species at pH 3-6.5, also based on 1H NMR and pH-metric data, contains each Hg(II) coordinated to a tertiary amino nitrogen, two amide oxygens and a chloride ligand while that of [Hg2L1(b)H−5Cl2]3−, contains each Hg(II) coordinated to a tertiary amino nitrogen, two amidate nitrogens, a chloride and a hydroxo ligand in the case of one of the Hg(II) ions. The parent EDTA and PDTA amides only form mononuclear complexes. PAMAM also forms dinuclear as well as mononuclear complexes with mercury(II) and silver(I). In the pH range 3-11 six complexes with Hg(II) i.e. [HgLH4Cl2]4+, [HgLH3Cl2]3+, [Hg2LCl2]2+, [Hg2LH−1Cl2]+, [HgLH−1Cl2] and [HgLH−2Cl2]2− were identified and only two with Ag(I), [AgLH3]4+ and [Ag2L]2+. Based on stoichiometries, stability constant comparisons and 1H NMR data, structures are proposed for these species. Hence [HgLH4Cl2]4+ is proposed to have a similar structure to [CuLH4]6+ while [Hg2LCl2]2+has a similar structure to [Hg2L1(b)H−5Cl2]3−.  相似文献

In a series of coordination polymers based upon 4,4′-bitriazole (btr) [Cu3Cl2(H2O)2(btr)4]2(ZnCl4)2(Cl3ZnOZnCl3), [Cu3Cl2(H2O)2(btr)4](MCl4)2 (M = Cd; Hg), eight-connected metal-organic frameworks related to a CsCl (bcu) structure originate in the functionality of trinuclear copper/chloride ensembles bridged by the organic ligands. [Cu3Cl4(btr)4]Cl2 complex adopts simpler 1D polymeric structure also incorporating trinuclear copper/chloride clusters.  相似文献

Complexes of the type [M(pabh)(H2O)Cl], [M(pcbh)(H2O)Cl] and [M(Hpabh)(H2O)2 (SO4)] where, M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II); Hpabh = p-amino acetophenone benzoyl hydrazone and Hpcbh = p-chloro acetophenone benzoyl hydrazone have been synthesized and characterized with the help of elemental analyses, electrical conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, electronic, ESR and IR spectra, thermal (TGA & DTA) and X-ray diffraction studies. Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) chloride complexes are square planar, whereas their sulfate complexes have spin-free octahedral geometry. ESR spectra of Cu(II) complexes with Hpabh are axial and suggest as the ground state. The ligand is bidentate bonding through >C = N ? and deprotonated enolate group in all the chloro complexes, whereas, >C = N and >C = O groups in all the sulfato complexes. Thermal studies (TGA & DTA) on [Cu(Hpabh)(H2O)2(SO4)] indicate a multistep decomposition pattern, which are both exothermic and endothermic in nature. X-ray powder diffraction parameters for [Co(pabh)(H2O)Cl] and [Ni(Hpabh)(H2O)2(SO4)] correspond to tetragonal and orthorhombic crystal lattices, respectively. The ligands as well as their complexes show a significant antifungal and antibacterial activity. The metal complexes are more active than the ligand.  相似文献

Reactions of labile [MCl3(PPh3)2(NCMe)] (M = Tc, Re) precursors with 1H-benzoimidazole-2-thiol (H2L1), 5-methyl-1H-benzoimidazole-2-thiol (H2L2) and 1H-imidazole-2-thiol (H2L3), in the presence of PPh3 and [AsPh4]Cl gave a new series of trigonal bipyramidal M(III) complexes [AsPh4]{[M(PPh3)Cl(H2L1-3)3]Cl3} (M = Re, 1-3; M = Tc, 4-6). The molecular structures of 1 and 3 were determined by X-ray diffraction. When the reactions were carried out with benzothiazole-2-thiol (HL4) and benzoxazole-2-thiol (HL5), neutral paramagnetic monosubstituted M(III) complexes [M(PPh3)2Cl2(L4,5)] (M = Re, 8, 9; M = Tc, 10, 11) were obtained. In these compounds, the central metal ions adopt an octahedral coordination geometry as authenticated by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis of 8 and 11. Rhenium and technetium complexes 1, 4 and rhenium chelate compounds 8, 9 have been also synthesized by reduction of [MO4] with PPh3 and HCl in the presence of the appropriate ligand. All the complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, FTIR and NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献

The Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes with triazolopyrimidine C-nucleosides L1 (5,7-dimethyl-3-(2′,3′,5′-tri-O-benzoyl-β-d-ribofuranosyl-s-triazolo)[4,3-a]pyrimidine), L2 (5,7-dimethyl-3-β-d-ribofuranosyl-s-triazolo[4,3-a]pyrimidine) and L3 (5,7-dimethyl[1,5-a]-s-triazolopyrimidine), [Pd(en)(L1)](NO3)2, [Pd(bpy)(L1)](NO3)2, cis-Pd(L3)2Cl2, [Pd2(L3)2Cl4] · H2O, cis-Pd(L2)2Cl2 and [Pt3(L1)2Cl6] were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and NMR spectroscopy. The structure of the [Pd2(L3)2Cl4] · H2O complex was established by X-ray crystallography. The two L3 ligands are found in a head to tail orientation, with a Pd?Pd distance of 3.1254(17) Å. L1 coordinates to Pd(II) through N8 and N1 forming polymeric structures. L2 coordinates to Pd(II) through N8 in acidic solutions (0.1 M HCl) forming complexes of cis-geometry. The Pd(II) coordination to L2 does not affect the sugar conformation probably due to the high stability of the C-C glycoside bond.  相似文献

Some new complexes of mefenamic acid with potentially interesting biological activity are described. The complexes of mefenamic acid [Mn(mef)2(H2O)2], 1, [Co(mef)2(H2O)2], 2, [Ni(mef)2(H2O)2], 3, [Cu(mef)2(H2O)]2, 4 and [Zn(mef)2], 5, were prepared by the reaction of mefenamic acid, a potent anti-inflammatory drug with metal salts. Optical and infrared spectral data of these new complexes are reported. Monomeric six-coordinated species were isolated in the solid state for Mn(II), Ni(II) and Co(II), dimeric five-coordinated for Cu(II) and monomeric four-coordinated for Zn(II). In DMF or CHCl3 solution the coordination number is retained and the coordinated molecules of water are replaced by solvent molecules. The anti-oxidant properties of the complexes were evaluated using the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, DPPH, free radical scavenging assay. The scavenging activities of the complexes were measured and compared with those of the free drug and vitamin C. We have explored their ability to inhibit soybean lipoxygenase, β-glucuronidase and trypsin- induced proteolysis. The complex [Mn(mef)2(H2O)2] exhibits the highest antioxidant activity and the highest inhibitory effect against the soybean lipogygenase (LOX), properties that are not demonstrated by mefenamic acid. Their inhibitory effects on rat paw edema induced by Carrageenan was studied and compared with those of mefenamic acid. The complex [Zn(mef)2] exhibited a strong inhibitory effect at 0.1 mmol/Kg B.W. (81.5 ± 1.3% inhibition), superior to the inhibition induced by mefenamic acid at the same dose (61.5 ± 2.3% inhibition). Mefenamic acid and its metal complexes have been evaluated for antiproliferative activity in vitro against the cells of three human cancer cell lines: MCF-7 (human breast cancer cell line), T24 (bladder cancer cell line), A-549 (non-small cell lung carcinoma) and a mouse fibroblast L-929 cell line. The copper(II) complex displays against T24, MCF-7 and L-929 cancer cell lines, IC50 values in a μM range similar to that of the antitumor drug cis-platin and they are considered for further stages of screening in vitro and/or in vivo as agents with potential antitumor activity.  相似文献

Complexes of Co(II), Ni(lI), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pt(II) with 1-formylisoquinoline thiosemicarbazone (1-iqtsc-H) were prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, conductance measurement and spectral studies. On the basis of these studies a distorted octahedral structure for [Co(1-iqtsc)2]·2H2O, a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal structure for [Ni- (1-iqtsc-H)Cl2], [Cu(1-iqtsc-H)Cl2] and [Zn(1-iqtsc- H)(OAc)2]·H2O and a square-planar structure for [Pt(1-iqtsc)Cl] are suggested. All these metal(II) complexes were screened for their antitumour activity in the P388 lymphocytic leukaemia test system in mice. Except for Pt(Il), the complexes were found to possess significant activity; the Ni(II) complex showed a T/C value of 161 at the optimum dosage.  相似文献

A new bis(macrocycle) ligand, 7,7-(2-hydoxypropane-1,3-diyl)-bis{3,7,11,17-tetraazabicyclo[11.3.1]heptadeca-1(17),13,15-triene} (HL), and its dicopper(II) ([Cu2(HL)Cl2](NO3)2 · 4H2O (4a), [Cu2(HL)I2]I2 · H2O (4b)) and dinickel(II) ([Ni2(L)(OH2)](ClO4)3 (5a), [Ni2(L)(OH2)]I3 · 2H2O (5b), [Ni2(L)N3](N3)2 · 7H2O (5c)) complexes have been synthesized. The alkoxide bridged face-to-face structure of the dinickel(II) complex 5c has been revealed by X-ray crystallography, as well as the “half-opened clamshell” form of the bis(macrocyclic) dicopper(II) complex 4b. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility studies have indicated that there exists intramolecular antiferromagnetic coupling (J=−33.8 cm−1 (5a), −32.5 cm−1 (5b), and −29.7 cm−1 (5c)) between the two nickel(II) ions in the nickel(II) complexes.  相似文献

A variety of platinum(II) complexes of methimazole (2-mercapto-1-methylimidazole; HImS = neutral form and ImS = thiolate form), coordinated in both thione and thiolate forms, have been isolated by reacting methimazole with [PtCl(terpy)]Cl (terpy = 2,2′:6′,2″ terpyridine), [PtCl2(bipy)] (bipy = bipyridine), [PtCl2(o-phen)] (o-phen = o-phenanthroline), [PtCl2(CH3CN)2] and [PtCl2(COD)] (COD = 1,5-cyclooctadiene). These complexes were characterized by electronic absorption, IR and NMR (1H, 13C, 195Pt) spectroscopies. Molecular structure of [Pt(bipy)(HImS)2]Cl2·3H2O (3a·3H2O) has been established by single crystal X-ray crystallography. Platinum thiolate complex, [Pt(ImS)2(HImS)2] (5), could be obtained by treatment of [Pt(HImS)4]Cl2 with sodium methoxide in methanol. The solution of 5 in organic solvents yielded bi- and tri-nuclear platinum complexes. The effect of diimine ligands on oxidation of methimazole moiety in the complexes has been studied by electrochemical oxidation and pulse radiolytic oxidation employing specific one-electron oxidant, radical.  相似文献

We have prepared and structurally characterized six-coordinate Fe(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) complexes of types [MII(HL1)2(H2O)2][ClO4]2 (M = Fe, 1; Co, 3; and Ni, 5) and [MII(HL2)3][ClO4]2 · MeCN (M = Fe, 2 and Co, 4) of bidentate pyridine amide ligands, N-(phenyl)-2-pyridinecarboxamide (HL1) and N-(4-methylphenyl)-2-pyridinecarboxamide (HL2). The metal centers in bis(ligand)-diaqua complexes 1, 3 and 5 are coordinated by two pyridyl N and two amide O atoms from two HL1 ligands and six-coordination is completed by coordination of two water molecules. The complexes are isomorphous and possess trans-octahedral geometry. The metal centers in isomorphous tris(ligand) complexes 2 and 4 are coordinated by three pyridyl N and three amide O atoms from three HL2 ligands. The relative dispositions of the pyridine N and amide O atoms reveal that the pseudo-octahedral geometry have the meridional stereochemistry. To the best of our knowledge, this work provides the first examples of structurally characterized six-coordinate iron(II) complexes in which the coordination is solely by neutral pyridine amide ligands providing pyridine N and amide O donor atoms, with or without water coordination. Careful analyses of structural parameters of 1-5 along with that reported in the literature [MII(HL1)2(H2O)2][ClO4]2 (M = Cu and Zn) and [CoIII(L2)3] have allowed us to arrive at a number of structural correlations/generalizations. The complexes are uniformly high-spin. Spectroscopic (IR and UV/Vis) and redox properties of the complexes have also been investigated.  相似文献

The synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of the new symmetric, ligand bis(salicylaldehyde)methyliminodiacetylhydrazone (H4MeImds) is reported. The reactions of H4 MeImds with copper(II) chloride, nitrate and sulfate give trinuclear metal complexes of formula Cu3(MeImds)Cl2 · CHCl3 · H2O, Cu3(MeImds)(NO3)2 · 2H2O and Cu3(MeImds)(SO4) · 8H2O; the trinuclear species are obtained in spite of the used metal:ligand molar ratio. The X-ray crystal structure of [Cu3(MeImds)(SO4)(H2O)3] · 5H2O is determined; it consists of linear units, with the nonadentate ligand bound to three copper ions. The trimetallic units are bridged via sulfate anions to give hexanuclear dimers with an imposed centre of symmetry. The magnetic properties of [Cu3(MeImds)(SO4)(H2O)3] · 5H2O are characterized by a significant antiferromagnetic coupling within the trimetallic units and by a weak antiferromagnetic coupling between them. The analogous trinuclear copper(II) complexes Cu3(HImds)Cl2 · H2O and Cu3(HImds)(SO4) · 4H2O (H5Imds, bis(salicylaldehyde)iminodiacetylhydrazone) were also prepared and spectroscopically characterized.  相似文献

The interaction of potassium tetrachloropalladate(II) with theophylline in a 1:1 molar ratio resulted in the formation of the monotheophylline (K[Pd(ThH)Cl3]) or monotheophyllinato ([Pd(Th)Cl]2) complexes, depending on the solvent and the acidity conditions. In the first complex, theophylline coordinates to Pd(II) as a neutral molecule through its N9 atom, while in the second as a monoanion through both its N7 and O6 atoms. Both complexes react with nucleosides, giving the complexes [Pd(Nucl)(ThH)Cl2] and [Pd(Nucl)(Th)Cl], respectively. Those complexes with one N(1)H ionizable imino-proton undergo deprotonation and two new series of mixed ligand complexes, [Pd(Nucl − H+)(ThH)Cl] and [Pd(Nucl − H+(Th)] are formed. In the mixed ligand complexes, theophylline maintains its coordination modes. The nucleosides, on the other hand, exhibit their usual coordination sites; i.e. in the nondeprotonated complexes they coordinate only through their N7 atoms, while in the deprotonated they act as bidentate through both their N7 and O6 atoms. All complexes were characterized with elemental analyses, conductivity measurements and various spectroscopic techniques.  相似文献

The preparation of well-defined adducts of the M(guH)(2Cl3 (M = Cr, Fe) and VO(guH)Cl2 types (guH = neutral guanine), by refluxing ligand and metal chloride mixtures in ethanol-triethyl orthoformate, is reported. Characterization studies suggest that the new complexes are probably linear chain-like polymeric species, involving single bridges of bidentate guH ligands between adjacent metal ions. Bidentate bridging guH is most probably coordinated through the N(7) and N(9) imidazole nitrogens. The chloro ligands present in the adducts are exclusively terminal. Infrared evidence rules out the possibility of coordination of guanine through either of its exocyclic potential binding sites (i.e., CO oxygen and NH2 nitrogen) [1].  相似文献

Four transition metal complexes of 3,8-di(thiophen-2′,2″-yl)-1,10-phenanthroline (dtphen), formulated as [Ni(dtphen)2(H2O)2]·(ClO4)2 (1), [Zn(dtphen)2(H2O)]·(ClO4)2 (2) [Cu(dtphen)2(H2O)]·(ClO4)2 (3), [Cu(dtphen)(phen)2]·(ClO4)2 (4) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) with different metal-to-ligand ratios, were synthesized and characterized herein. The X-ray single-crystal diffraction studies of 1-4 exhibit that different molecular configurations for the dtphen ligand can be observed where the side thiophene rings adopt the trans/trans, trans/cis, trans/disorder and cis/cis conformations relative to the central 1,10-phenanthroline unit in different compounds. Fluorescence emission spectra of 1-4 in methanol show that the fluorescence emission of 2 is much stronger than the other three metal complexes, which is mainly due to its full d10 electronic configuration of Zn(II) ion.  相似文献

Four new coordination complexes, NiII(L)2 (1), [CoIII(L)2]ClO4 (2), [Zn(HL)(L)]ClO4 · H2O (3) and [Zn(L)2][Zn(L)(HL)]ClO4 · 7H2O (4) (where L is a monoanion of a Schiff base ligand, N′-[(2-pyridyl)methylene]salicyloylhydrazone (HL) with NNO tridentate donor set), have been synthesised and systematically characterised by elemental analysis, spectroscopic studies and room temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that 1 is a neutral complex, while 2-4 are cationic complexes. Among them, 4 is a rare type of cationic complex with two molecules in the asymmetric unit. The ligand chelates the metal centre with two nitrogen atoms from the pyridine and imino moieties and one oxygen atom coming from its enolic counterpart. All the reported complexes show distorted octahedral geometry around the metal centres, with the two metal-N (imino) bonds being significantly shorter than the two metal-N (Py) bonds.  相似文献

Palladium(II) complexes with triphenylphosphine (PPh3) and thioamides of the general formulae, [Pd(L)2(PPh3)2]Cl2 and [Pd(L)2(PPh3)2] have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR (1H, 13C and 31P) methods, and two of them (trans-[Pd(PPh3)2(Dmtu)2]Cl2·(H2O)(CH3OH)0.5 (1) and trans-[Pd(PPh3)2(Mpy)2] (2)) by X-ray crystallography; where L = thiourea (Tu), methylthiourea (Metu), N,N′-dimethylthiourea (Dmtu), tetramethylthiourea (Tmtu), 2-mercaptopyridine (Mpy), 2-mercaptopyrimidine (Mpm) and thionicotinamide (Tna). The spectral data of the complexes are consistent with the sulfur coordination of thioamides to palladium(II). The crystal structures of the complexes show that (1) has ionic character consisting of [Pd(PPh3)2(Dmtu)2]+2 cations and uncoordinated Cl ions, while (2) is a neutral complex with Mpy behaving as anionic thiolate ligand. The coordination environment around palladium in (2) is nearly regular square-planar, while in (1) the trans angles show significant distortions from 180°. The complexes were screened for antibacterial effects, brine shrimps lethality bioassay and antitumor activity. These complexes showed significant activities in most of the cases against the tested bacteria as compared to that of a standard drug. Transition metal complexes [Co(cyclen)(NH3)2](ClO4)3⋅H2O (cyclen = 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane) (2), [Co(NH3)5(OH2)](CF3SO3)3 (3) [Ni(NH3)6]Br2 (4) and [Ru(NH3)6]Cl3 (5) were tested against Sindbis infected baby hamster kidney (BHK) cells and show differential effects from the previously reported anti-viral complex [Co(NH3)6]Cl3 (1). The macrocyclic complex 2 and labile aqua complex 3 show either no or little effect on the survival on Sindbis virus-infected cells as compared to that for 1, which show a monotonic increase in % BHK cell survival. Nickel and ruthenium ammine complexes 4 and 5 had a moderate influence of cell survival. While the results showed some anti-viral activity for some of the structural variations, it appears that 1, with its potential to be a broad-spectrum anti-viral compound, occupies a unique position in its ability to both significantly enhance cell survival and to decrease viral expression of infected cells. We also show that 1 also shows anti-viral activity against Adenovirus lending support to the broad-spectrum potential of this complex.  相似文献
