Using microwave irradiation during tissue fixation and immunostaining reduces sample preparation time and facilitates penetration of fixatives and antibody solutions into the tissues. This results in improved fixation and reduction of non-specific binding of antibodies, respectively. Experimental analyses of endothelial cells in blood vessels in situ have been limited because of the difficulty of tissue preparation. We report here a technique using intermittent microwave irradiation for blood vessel fixation and immunostaining the fixed tissues. Intermittent microwave irradiation during fixation reduced blood vessel contraction and resulted in well preserved morphology of blood vessels, especially the endothelial cells. Microwave irradiation also reduced non-specific binding of fluorescein-labeled antibodies. These microwave irradiation-assisted techniques are useful for analysis of endothelial cell function and for pathological study of blood vessels in situ.  相似文献

目的:探讨不同输血方法治疗自身免疫性溶血性贫血(autoimmune hemolytic anemia,AIHA)的效果。方法:2017年1月-2018年12月选择在本院血液科诊治的64例自身免疫性溶血性贫血患儿,根据输血方法的不同分为观察组与对照组,各32例。观察组给予洗涤红细胞输注治疗,对照组给予非洗涤红细胞(悬浮红细胞)输注治疗,记录两组输血效果。结果:治疗后4 w观察组的总有效率显著高于对照组(100.0%vs.87.5%,P0.05)。两组治疗后4 w的红细胞计数与血红蛋白都显著高于治疗前,且观察组显著高于对照组(P0.05)。观察组的吸氧、机械通气、住院时间都显著少于对照组(P0.05)。观察组治疗过程的过敏反应、发热反应、紫癜等不良反应发生率显著低于对照组(3.1%vs. 21.9%,P0.05)。结论:洗涤红细胞输注治疗自身免疫性溶血性贫血患儿能促进机体红细胞计数与血红蛋白恢复正常,减少不良反应的发生,提高治疗效果与促进患儿康复。  相似文献

Biological effects in the microwave band of the radiofrequency (RF) spectrum are thermally mediated. For acute high-power microwave exposures, these effects will depend on transient time-temperature histories within the tissue. In this article, we summarize the transient temperature response of rats exposed to RF energy emanating from an open-ended rectangular waveguide. These exposures produced specific absorption rates of approximately 36 and 203 W/kg in the whole body and brain, respectively. We then use the experimentally measured thermal data to infer the baseline perfusion rate in the brain and modify a custom thermal modeling tool based upon these findings. Finally, we compare multi-physics simulations of rat brain temperature against empirical measurements in both live and euthanized subjects and find close agreement between model and experimentation. This research revealed that baseline brain perfusion rates in rat subjects could be larger than previously assumed in the RF thermal modeling literature, and plays a significant role in the transient thermal response to high-power microwave exposures. © 2021 Bioelectromagnetics Society.  相似文献

目前国内外对通用型血的研究主要是改造修饰红细胞表面抗原。研制的方法有两种:体外酶解修饰人A、B抗原制备O型血和使用化学材料甲氧基聚乙二醇(mPEG)共价结合到红细胞表面,遮蔽血型抗原。两种修饰的结果均表明对红细胞的结构、功能无影响。这两种修饰方法为制备通用型血供临床输血开拓了崭新的途径,具有重要意义。  相似文献

This paper computationally verifies the effect of anesthesia on temperature variations in the rabbit eye due to microwave energy. The main reason for this investigation is that our previous paper suggested a reduction in blood flow due to the administration of anesthesia, resulting in an overestimated temperature increase. However, no quantitative investigation has yet been conducted. The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is used for calculating power absorption and temperature variation in rabbits. For this purpose, we used a computational rabbit phantom, which is comprised of 12 tissues (including 6 eye tissues) with a resolution of 1 mm. Thermal constants of the rabbit were derived by comparing measured and calculated temperatures. For intense microwave exposure to the rabbit eye, time courses of calculated and measured temperatures were in good agreement for cases both with and without the administration of anesthesia. The point to be stressed is that under anesthesia the thermoregulatory response was inactivated and blood flow and basal metabolism was reduced.  相似文献

In veterinary medicine, blood transfusion is commonly performed on companion animals. The common marmoset is a small nonhuman primate with increasing popularity as an animal model in biomedical research. Because of its small whole blood volume, the marmoset is at high risk of exsanguination, and blood transfusion is required to care for life-threatening bleeding. However, few clinical evaluations exist on transfusions for marmosets. This study performed whole blood transfusion with cross-matching on nine marmosets and surveyed the therapeutic effects. Recipients included clinical cases with persistent bleeding, anemia, and coma, as well as animals subjected to postoperative bleeding prophylaxis. Donors were selected from healthy marmosets, including littermates. Cross-match assay before transfusion were all negative, and recipients showed no visible signs of transfusion-related adverse reactions. Whole blood transfusions caused hemostasis and successful recovery in bleeding marmosets, including long-term improvement of anemia cases. Our results indicated that blood transfusion is effective for marmosets with severe anemia and persistent hemorrhage from both non-experimental and surgical causes. Furthermore, DNA sequencing for blood-group classification revealed that all subject marmosets were type A, suggesting that the risk of blood type mismatch may be low in this species.  相似文献

The effects of testosterone treatment of abdominally obese men have been assessed by evaluating the following parameters: The metabolic activity of different adipose tissue regions in vivo (using lipid label as a tracer) and in vitro (measuring lipoprotein lipase(LPL) activity), the total and visceral adipose tissue mass, insulin sensitivity, fasting blood glucose, blood lipids, and blood pressure as well as prostate volume. Middle-aged men with abdominal obesity were treated with transdermal administration of testosterone (T), dihydrotestosterone (DHT) or placebo (P) during 9 months. The study was double-blind. Treatment with T was followed by an inhibited uptake of lipid label in adipose tissue triglycerides, a decreased LPL-activity and an increased turn-over rate of lipid label in the abdominal adipose tissue region in comparisons with the DHT and P groups. These effects on adipose tissue metabolism were not detected in the femoral adipose tissue region in any of the groups. T treatment was also followed by a specific decrease of visceral fat mass (measured by CT-scan), by increased insulin sensitivity (measured with the euglycemic glucose clamp), by a decrease in fasting blood glucose, plasma cholesterol and triglycerides as well as a decrease in diastolic blood pressure. In the DHT group an increased visceral mass was detected. No other changes in these variables were found in the DHT and P groups. There were no detectable changes in prostate volume (measured by ultra-sound), prostate specific antigen concentration, genito-urinary history or urinary flow measurements in any of the groups. It is suggested that T substitution to a selected group of men results in general metabolic and circulatory improvements. The prostate area needs further careful attention.  相似文献

Adult male Wistar rats were exposed for 2 h a day, 7 days a week for up to 30 days to continuous 2450 MHz radiofrequency microwave (rf/MW) radiation at a power density of 5–10 mW/cm2. Sham-exposed rats were used as controls. After ether anesthesia, experimental animals were euthanized on the final irradiation day for each treated group. Peripheral blood smears were examined for the extent of genotoxicity, as indicated by the presence of micronuclei in polychromatic erythrocytes (PCEs). The results for the time-course of PCEs indicated significant differences (P<0.05) for the 2nd, the 8th and the 15th day between control and treated subgroups of animals. Increased influx of immature erythrocytes into the peripheral circulation at the beginning of the experiment revealed that the proliferation and maturation of nucleated erythropoietic cells were affected by exposure to the 2450 MHz radiofrequency radiation. Such findings are indicators of radiation effects on bone-marrow erythropoiesis and their subsequent effects in circulating red cells. The incidence of micronuclei/1000 PCEs in peripheral blood was significantly increased (P<0.05) in the subgroup exposed to rf/MW radiation after eight irradiation treatments of 2 h each in comparison with the sham-exposed control group. It is likely that an adaptive mechanism, both in erythrocytopoiesis and genotoxicity appeared in the rat experimental model during the subchronic irradiation treatment.  相似文献

A type 1 diabetic male reports multiple instances when his blood glucose was dramatically elevated by the presence of microwave radiation from wireless technology and plummeted when the radiation exposure ended. In one instance, his body temperature elevated in addition to his blood glucose. Both remained elevated for nearly 48 h after exposure with the effect gradually decreasing. Possible mechanisms for microwave radiation elevating blood glucose include effects on glucose transport proteins and ion channels, insulin conformational changes and oxidative stress. Temperature elevation may be caused by microwave radiation-triggered Ca 2+ efflux, a mechanism similar to malignant hyperthermia. The potential for radiation from wireless technology to cause serious biological effects has important implications and necessitates a reevaluation of its near-ubiquitous presence, especially in hospitals and medical facilities.  相似文献

探讨超声引导经皮微波消融治疗邻近血管的原发性肝癌的疗效。2010年1月至2013年6月期间,回顾性分析在我院采用超声引导下微波消融技术治疗的213例(267个病灶)原发性肝癌患者的病例资料,根据患者病灶位置分为邻近血管组(76例,91个病灶)和对照组(137例,176个病灶),比较两组患者的微波消融次数、微波消融时间、完全消融率、局部肿瘤进展率、累计存活率及并发症。邻近血管组和对照组的原发性肝癌患者消融次数均为1~3次,两组平均微波消融次数无显著差异(p<0.05)。两组微波消融时间为5~28 min,其中邻近血管组显著高于对照组(p>0.05)。微波消融1个月后,邻近血管组的完全消融率与对照组无显著差异(p<0.05)。两组患者在3个阶段(1随访1年,3年和5年)的的局部肿瘤进展率和累计生存率无统计学差异(p<0.05)。两组患者5年随访时间内分别有29例和53例患者死亡。主要死亡原因包括肝癌进展、肝功能衰竭、血管曲张破裂、脑出血、急性肺栓塞、心肌梗死等。邻近血管组共有25例出现术后并发症,对照组有44例。主要并发症类型为腹腔积液、膈疝、出血、肝脓肿、气胸、肝区疼痛和发热。两组之间并发症发生率无统计学意义(p=0.907)。微波消融治疗邻近血管的原发性肝癌具有较好的局部肿瘤控制率,可对邻近血管的危险病灶区域进行有效治疗。  相似文献

Long-Evans male adult rats were intermittently exposed for 14 weeks to continuous wave (CW) 2450-MHz microwaves at an average power density of 2.5 mW/cm2. The mean specific absorption rate was 0.70 W/kg (+/- 0.02 SEM). The rats were exposed 7 h/day, 7 days/week in a radiation chamber with a monopole above ground, while housed in Plexiglas cages. Weekly measures of body mass and food intake did not indicate statistically significant effects of microwave irradiation. Assessments of threshold for electric-footshock detection revealed a significant difference between microwave and sham-exposed animals. Assessments of cholinesterase and sulfhydryl groups in blood and 17-ketosteroids in urine did not distinguish the two groups of rats. Behavioral measures made at the end of the 14-week exposure included an open-field test, shuttlebox avoidance performance, and schedule-controlled lever-pressing for food pellets. Statistically significant differences between microwave- and sham-exposed rats were observed for these measures. Examination of adrenal tissue, plasma electrolytes, and organ masses after 14 weeks of exposure revealed no difference between the two groups of rats.  相似文献

This paper reviews research on neurological effects of low-level microwave irradiation, which was performed at the University of Washington, during the decade of the 1980s. We studied in the rat the effects of microwave exposure on the actions of various psychoactive drugs, on the activity of cholinergic systems in the brain, and on the neural mechanisms involved. Our results indicate that endogenous opioids play an important mediating role in some of the neurological effects of microwaves, and that parameters of microwave exposure are important determinants of the outcome of the microwave effects.  相似文献

Implantable microwave coagulation was used to perform resection on 62 patients that had intracranial meningiomas. When 20–60 W microwave power was applied for 15 s, the temperature at the center of the tumor tissue was 43–63°C; 30 mm from the center, the temperature was under 40°C. Histological changes in the center of the tumor showed coagulative necrosis, diminished nuclei, and obliterated blood vessels. The changes at 10–20 mm from the center of the tumor showed coagulative necrosis and degeneration and, 30–50 mm from the center of the tumor, showed normal cell morphology after microwave coagulation. The thermal field in brain tumor has an effective diameter of about 40 mm. No side effects on the normal brain tissues were observed. The amount of blood loss during the operation was minimal while the meningioma was coagulated, especially when the meningioma was located at the skull base or in the parasagittal or cerebral convexity region. After microwave coagulation, the entire tumor could easily be removed. Among the 62 surgically treated cases, gross total tumor excision was 85%. No postoperative complications occurred after microwave coagulation, and there was no operative mortality in the series. We believe that this new technique has the advantage of simplicity, less blood loss, and smooth postoperative procedures. Hemostatic effects during the operation are satisfactory, and blood transfusion can be reduced by 50–60%. © 1996 Wiley-Liss, Inc.  相似文献

These experiments were designed to investigate the effects of sub-resonant microwave (MW) exposure (350 MHz, E orientation, average power density 38 mW/cm2, average whole-body specific absorption rate 13.2 W/kg) on selected physiological parameters. The increase in peripheral body temperature during 350 MHz exposure was greater than that in earlier experiments performed at 700 MHz (resonance). Heart rate and mean arterial blood pressure were significantly elevated during a 1 °C increase in colonic temperature due to 350 MHz exposure; respiratory rate showed no significant change. The results are consistent with other investigators' reports comparing sub-resonance exposures with those at resonance and above. 本研究观察了家兔双后足重度冻伤后用蝮蛇抗栓酶(0.25U/kg体重加入20ml/kg体重生理盐水中,耳缘静脉点滴)进行治疗后其血凝系统某些指标的改变。结果表明,重度冻伤后家兔的出血时间及凝血时间明显缩短,血小板功能呈不同程度的改变,血浆纤维蛋白原含量增加,血液处于高凝状态;用蝮蛇抗栓酶治疗后,上述各项指标均有不同程度的改善,结果提示,蝮蛇抗栓酶可明显缓解冻伤所致的血凝增强的病变过程,这对重度冻伤的治疗将起到重要作用  相似文献

Rabbit erythrocytes were exposed in vitro to continuous wave (CW) and pulse-modulated X-band microwaves in wave guide exposure chambers. Erythrocytes were exposed as whole (hep-arinized) blood suspensions or as washed cells in 1:1 isotonic buffered K+-free saline suspensions. Statistically significant increases in K+ efflux relative to thermal controls were detected when red cells were exposed in whole blood suspensions to either CW or pulsed 8.42-GHz microwaves at SARs that resulted in equilibrium sample temperatures of approximately 24 °C. Under the same exposure conditions, no statistically significant K+ efflux occurred in the case of 1:1 red cell suspensions. Measured differences in sample heating rates and temperature gradients between microwave-exposed and heated control suspensions may account in part for the differential effect of microwave exposure but such effects do not appear to explain the results of this study fully.  相似文献

目的:研究松龄血脉康胶囊联合立普妥对老年高血压患者血清细胞外基质蛋白-3 (Fibulin-3)、脂蛋白a (Lipoprotein(a),Lp(a))、单核细胞趋化蛋白-1 (monocyte chemoattractant protein-1,MCP-1)水平的影响。方法:选择2015年04月至2017年12月在我院治疗的老年高血压患者72例,按照随机数字表法为观察组和对照组,对照组采用立普妥口服治疗,观察组在对照组的基础上联用松龄血脉康胶囊口服治疗,观察和比较两组临床治疗效果,治疗前后血脂、动态血压及Fibulin-3、Lp(a)、MCP-1水平的变化情况。结果:治疗后,观察组总有效率为88.89%,明显高于对照组(69.44%,P0.05);观察组血清血清总胆固醇(Serum total cholesterol,TC)、低密度脂蛋白胆固醇(low density lipoprotein cholesterol,LDL-C)、甘油三酯(triglyceride,TG)、游离脂肪酸(nonesterified fatty acid,FFA)、Lp(a)、MCP-1等水平均显著低于对照组(P0.05),而血清HDL-C、Fibulin-3水平明显高于对照组(P0.05);治疗后,观察组动态血压水平降低范围较对照组更明显(P0.05);观察组患者生活愉快、心理健康及认知功能等方面评分均显著高于对照组(P0.05)。结论:松龄血脉康胶囊联合立普妥治疗老年高血压患者的临床疗效显著优于单用立普妥口服治疗,其能更有效维持动态血压的正常水平,且显著改善Fibulin-3、Lp(a)、MCP-1水平,降脂效果良好。  相似文献

This double-blind study tested the effects of pulsating electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy sessions on the changes in peripheral cardiovascular function in a group of aging adults after 12 weeks of treatment. Each therapy session involved 15 min of exposure to low-frequency PEMF with asymmetrical waveforms emitted by the Impulser? Pro mattress. The treatment was provided 5 days per week for a total of 60 sessions. Resting blood pressure and arterial stiffness index were determined for peripheral cardiovascular function. Fifty-four older men and women (mean age 59.8 ± 3.5 yrs) completed the entire protocol involving either the PEMF or a sham treatment. The results include statistically significant reductions in systolic and pulse blood pressure, while no significant difference in diastolic pressure or the index of arterial stiffness was observed. These findings suggest that the PEMF treatment might be linked to improvements in peripheral resistance or circulation.  相似文献
