A series of single‐phase full‐color emitting Li2Sr1−x−ySiO4:xDy3+,yEu3+ phosphors were synthesized by solid‐state reaction and characterized by X‐ray diffraction and photoluminescence analyses. The samples showed emission peaks at 488 nm (blue), 572 nm (yellow), 592 nm (orange) and 617 nm (red) under 393 nm excitation. The photoluminescence excitation spectra, comprising the Eu–O charge transfer band and 4f–4f transition bands of Dy3+ and Eu3+, range from 200 to 500 nm. The Commission Internationale de I'Eclairage chromaticity coordinates for Li2Sr0.98−xSiO4:0.02Dy3+,xEu3+ phosphors were simulated. By manipulating Eu3+ and Dy3+ concentrations, the color points of Li2Sr1−x−ySiO4:xDy3+,yEu3+ were tuned from the greenish‐white region to white light and eventually to reddish‐white region, demonstrating that a tunable white light can be obtained by Li2Sr1−x−ySiO4:xDy3+,yEu3+ phosphors. Li2Sr0.98−xSiO4:0.02Dy3+, xEu3+ can serve as a white‐light‐emitting phosphor for phosphor‐converted light‐emitting diode. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Eu2+‐doped Sr2SiO4 phosphor with Ca2+/Zn2+ substitution, (Sr1–xMx)2SiO4:Eu2+ (M = Ca, Zn), was prepared using a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction method. The structure and luminescence properties of Ca2+/Zn2+ partially substituted Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors were investigated in detail. With Ca2+ or Zn2+ added to the silicate host, the crystal phase could be transformed between the α‐form and the β‐form of the Sr2SiO4 structure. Under UV excitation at 367 nm, all samples exhibit a broad band emission from 420 to 680 nm due to the 4f65d1 → 4f7 transition of Eu2+ ions. The broad emission band consists of two peaks at 482 and 547 nm, which correspond to Eu2+ ions occupying the ten‐fold oxygen‐coordinated Sr.(I) site and the nine‐fold oxygen‐coordinated Sr.(II) site, respectively. The luminescence properties, including the intensity and lifetime of Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors, improved remarkably on Ca2+/Zn2+ addition, and promote its application in white light‐emitting diodes. High quality white light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) employ multi‐component phosphor mixtures to generate light of a high color rendering index (CRI). The number of distinct components in a typical phosphor mix usually ranges from two to four. Here we describe a systematic experimental technique for starting with phosphors of known chromatic properties and arriving at their respective proportions for creating a blended phosphor to produce light of the desired chromaticity. This method is applicable to both LED pumped and laser diode (LD) pumped white light sources. In this approach, the radiometric power in the down‐converted luminescence of each phosphor is determined and that information is used to estimate the CIE chromaticity coordinate of light generated from the mixed phosphor. A suitable method for mixing multi‐component phosphors is also described. This paper also examines the effect of light scattering particles in phosphors and their use for altering the spectral characteristics of LD‐ and LED‐generated light. This is the only approach available for making high efficiency phosphor‐converted single‐color LEDs that emit light of wide spectral width.  相似文献

Frequency up‐conversion (UC) emission from the Nd3+‐Yb3+/Nd3+‐Yb3+‐Li+ co‐doped gadolinium oxide (Gd2O3) phosphors prepared by the solution combustion technique in the visible range have been studied by using 980 nm near infrared (NIR) laser diode excitation. The crystalline structure and formation of the cubic phase has been confirmed with the help of X‐ray diffraction (XRD) studies. XRD peak shifts have been found towards the lower diffraction angle side in the case of the Nd3+‐Yb3+‐Li+ co‐doped phosphors. Surface morphology and particle size information have been observed by using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis. Down‐conversion emission study under 351 nm excitation in the visible region for the Nd3+‐Yb3+/Nd3+‐Yb3+‐Li+ co‐doped phosphors has been performed. The UC emission bands lying in the green and red region arising from the Nd3+ ions have been enhanced by ~260 times, ~113 times due to incorporation of Li+ ions in the Nd3+‐Yb3+ co‐doped phosphors. Photometric characterization has been done for the Nd3+‐Yb3+/Nd3+‐Yb3+‐Li+ co‐doped phosphors. The present study suggests the capability of the synthesized phosphors in near‐infrared (NIR) to visible upconverter and luminescent device applications.  相似文献

A series of Sm3+‐activated Sr3La(VO4)3 phosphors were synthesized by a facile sol‐gel method. X‐ray diffraction patterns and photoluminescence (PL)/cathodoluminescence (CL) spectra as well as PL decay curves were employed to characterize the obtained samples. Upon 402 nm light excitation, the characteristic emissions of Sm3+ ions corresponding to 4G5/26HJ transitions were observed in all the as‐prepared products. The PL emission intensity was increased with increase in Sm3+ ion concentration, while concentration quenching occurred when the doping concentration was over 4 mol%. The non‐radiative energy transfer mechanism for concentration quenching of Sm3+ ions was dominated by dipole–dipole interaction and the critical distance was around 21.59 Å. Furthermore, temperature‐dependent PL emission spectra revealed that the obtained phosphors possessed good thermal stability with an activation energy of 0.19 eV. In addition, the CL spectra of the samples were almost the same as the PL spectra, and the CL emission intensity showed a tendency to increase with increase in accelerating voltage and filament current. These results suggest that the Sm3+‐activated Sr3La(VO4)3 phosphors with good color coordinates, high color purity and superior thermal stability may be a potential candidate for applications in white light‐emitting diodes and field‐emission displays as red‐emitting phosphors.  相似文献

We report the photoluminescence characterization of Dy3+‐activated NaM4(VO4)3 (M = Ca, Ba, Sr) phosphors prepared by a solid‐state method. The synthesis was confirmed by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) characterization and photoluminescence (PL) emission results showed sharp blue and yellow bands for NaM4(VO4)3 (M = Ca, Ba, Sr):Dy3+ phosphors at the excitation wavelength of 323 nm, which is near‐UV excitation. Thus, these phosphors could be applicable for near‐UV excited solid‐state lighting devices. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A series of novel red‐emitting Sm3+‐doped bismuth silicate phosphors, Bi4Si3O12:xSm3+ (0.01 ≤ x ≤ 0.06), were prepared via the sol–gel route. The phase of the synthesized samples calcinated at 800 °C is isostructural with Bi4Si3O12 according to X‐ray diffraction results. Under excitation with 405 nm light, some typical peaks of Sm3+ ions centered at 566, 609, 655 and 715 nm are found in the emission spectra of the Sm3+‐doped Bi4Si3O12 phosphors. The strongest peak located at 609 nm is due to 4G5/26H7/2 transition of Sm3+. The luminescence intensity reaches its maximum value when the Sm3+ ion content is 4 mol%. The results suggest that Bi4Si3O12:Sm3+ may be a potential red phosphor for white light‐emitting diodes. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+,Li+ phosphors were prepared using a simple high temperature solid method for luminescence enhancement. The structures of the as‐prepared samples agreed well with the standard phase of Sr3(PO4)2, even when Dy3+ and Li+ were introduced. Under ultraviolet excitation at 350 nm, the Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+ sample exhibited two emission peaks at 483 nm and 580 nm, which were due to the 4F9/2 → 6H15/2 and 4F9/2 → 6H13/2 transitions of Dy3+ ions, respectively. A white light was fabricated using these two emissions from the Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+ phosphors. The luminescence properties of Sr3(PO4)2:Dy3+,Li+ phosphors, including emission intensity and decay time, were improved remarkably with the addition of Li+ as the charge compensator, which would promote their application in near‐ultraviolet excited white‐light‐emitting diodes.  相似文献

A series of Eu3+‐, Ce3+‐, Dy3+‐ and Tb3+‐doped (Y,Gd)BO3 phosphors was synthesized by a solid‐state diffusion method. X‐Ray diffraction confirmed their hexagonal structure and the scanning electron microscopy results showed crystalline particles. The excitation spectra revealed that (Y,Gd)BO3 phosphors doped with Eu3+, Ce3+ , Dy3+ and Tb3+ are effectively excited with near UV‐light of 395 nm/blue light, 364, 351 and 314 nm, respectively. Photoluminescence spectra of Eu3+‐, Ce3+‐ and Tb3+/Dy3+‐doped phosphor showed intense emission of reddish orange, blue and white light, respectively. The phosphor Y0.60Gd0.38BO3:Ce0.02 showed CIE 1931 color coordinates of (0.158, 0.031) and better color purity compared with commercially available blue BAM:Eu2+ phosphor. The phosphor (Y,Gd)BO3 doped with Eu3+, Dy3+ and Tb3+ showed CIE 1931 color coordinates of (0.667, 0.332), (0.251, 0.299) and (0.333, 0.391) respectively. Significant photoluminescence characteristics of the prepared phosphors indicate that they might serve as potential candidates for blue chip and near‐UV white light‐emitting diode applications. A new Eu3+‐substituted CsK2Y[VO4]2 glaserite‐type orthovanadate phosphor was synthesized by the conventional high temperature solid‐state reaction method. The phase purity was confirmed by powder X‐ray diffraction study and it reveals that all the compositions crystallize in the hexagonal structure. The morphology and elemental composition were measured by FE‐SEM with Energy Dispersive Analysis Of X Rays (EDAX). The band gap is determined by diffuse reflectance spectra. The self‐activated luminescence of the host and Eu3+‐substituted luminescence behaviours were studied in detail by photoluminescence spectra. The host CsK2Y[VO4]2 shows green emission, whereas the Eu3+‐substituted compositions show red emission. Effect of Eu3+ concentrations on the photoluminescence behaviour were also been studied. The Eu3+‐doped samples show not only several sharp emission lines but also a broad emission band due to presence of the [VO4]3? in the host, which clearly indicates that there is incomplete energy transfer from (VO4) charge transfer band to Eu3+. The life time of the phosphors also been studied. The Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity colour coordinates were calculated and it is very much closer to the National Television Standard Committee (NTSC) standards. These investigations evidently reveal that the self‐activated and Eu3+‐activated phosphors show a great potential applications as a red phosphor for solid‐state lighting includes white light‐emitting diodes (wLEDs).  相似文献

Polycrystalline Sr2SnO4 phosphors doped with Tb3+ were prepared by conventional solid‐state reaction method. Materials were characterized by powder XRD and EDS techniques. The luminescence properties of these materials were investigated under UV and VUV excitation. Upon excitation at 272 nm, phosphors exhibited intense emissions at 492 and 543 nm due to 5D47 F6 and 5D47 F5 transitions of Tb3+ ions, respectively. Materials also exhibited strong emissions from these transitions under VUV excitation at 147, 173 and 230 nm. Quantitative analysis of the spectra indicated probable applications of these phosphors for PDP and other display devices as green emitting phosphors. A new efficient phosphor, A9B(VO4)7 [A = Ca, Sr, Ba and B = La, Gd] has been synthesized by the solid‐state method at high temperature. X‐ray diffraction analysis confirmed the formation of the compound. Photoluminescence excitation measurements show that the phosphor can be efficiently excited by near‐ultraviolet light from 300 nm to 400 nm to realize emission covering the 397–647 nm region of visible spectrum. Therefore, newly synthesized novel phosphor may be useful as green‐emitting phosphor in solid‐state lighting. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this study, Eu‐doped Li2(Ba1‐xSrx)SiO4 powders (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6) were synthesized at 850°C in a reduction atmosphere (5% H2 + 95% N2) for a duration of 1 h using a solid‐state reaction method. The reduction atmosphere was infused as the synthesis temperature reached 850°C, and was removed as the temperature dropped to 800–500°C. Li2(Ba1‐xSrx)SiO4 (or Li2BaSiO4), (Ba,Sr)2SiO4 (or BaSiO4), and Li4SiO4 phases co‐existed in the synthesized Eu‐doped Li2(Ba1‐xSrx)SiO4 powders. A new finding was that the reduction atmosphere removing (RAR) temperature of the Li2(Ba1‐xSrx)SiO4 phosphors had a large effect on their photoluminescence excitation (PLE) and PL properties. Except for the 800°C‐RAR‐treated Li2BaSiO4 phosphor, PLE spectra of all other Li2(Ba1‐xSrx)SiO4 phosphors had one broad emission band with two emission peaks centred at ~242 and ~283 nm; these PL spectra had one broad emission band with one emission peak centred at 502–514 nm. We showed that the 800°C‐RAR‐treated Li2BaSiO4 phosphor emitted a red light and all other Li2(Ba1‐xSrx)SiO4 phosphors emitted a green light. Reasons for these results are discussed thoroughly.  相似文献

The novel red‐emitting phosphors KxSr1?2xMoO4:Pr3+x (0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.04) were prepared by solid‐state reaction. The crystallization and particle sizes of samples were investigated by powder X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). TEM images were in good agreement with the theoretical calculation data from the XRD patterns. Photoluminescence analysis indicated that there were three excitation peaks under 430–500 nm, and all samples showed the intensely red emission at 648 nm corresponding to the 3P03F2 transition of Pr3+. The concentrations of doping ions, temperature and polyethylene glycol in the phosphor system can significantly influence the intensity of the red emission. The photoluminescence spectral intensity reached its maximum at x = 0.02. The results showed that the investigated phosphor is a potential red phosphor for white light‐emitting diodes. Eu3+‐activated MAl(SO4)2Br phosphors (where M = Mg or Sr) are successfully prepared using a wet chemical reaction technique. The samples are characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopies. The XRD pattern revealed that both the samples are microcrystalline in nature. PL of Eu3+‐doped SrAl(SO4)2Br and MgAl(SO4)2Br phosphors exhibited characteristic red emission coming from the 5D07F2 (616 nm) electron transition, when excited by 396 nm wavelength of light. The maximum intensity of luminescence was observed at a concentration of 1 mol% Eu3+. The intensity of the electric dipole transition at 616 nm is greater than that of the magnetic dipole transition at 594 nm. The results showed that MAl(SO4)2Br:Eu3+, (M = Mg, Sr) phosphors have potential application in near‐UV light‐emitting diodes as efficient red‐emitting phosphor. Safety has been a major technological concern hindering the deployment of lithium‐ion batteries for automobile applications. We investigated the decomposition mechanism of delithiated cathode materials at thermal abuse conditions using Li1.1[Ni1/3Mn1/3Co1/3]0.9O2 as a model cathode material. An in‐situ high‐energy X‐ray diffraction technique was established as an alternative to conventional thermal analysis techniques like differential scanning calorimetry and accelerating rate calorimetry. The X‐ray diffraction data revealed that the thermal decomposition pathway of delithiated Li1‐x[Ni1/3Mn1/3Co1/3]0.9O2 strongly depended on the exposed chemical environment, like solvents and lithium salts. A phase transformation of dry delithiated Li1‐x[Ni1/3Mn1/3Co1/3]0.9O2 was observed at about 278 °C, and its onset temperature was reduced to about 197°C with the presence of the electrolyte. It is suggested that the reduction in thermal stability is possibly related to proton intercalation into the delithiated material.  相似文献

Earlier research has revealed numerous advantages of the wet chemical method in reaction acceleration, yield improvement, enhanced photoluminescence properties and the evolution of new material phases. In the present study the novel nanophosphor Li2Sr2Al2PO4F9:Dy3+ was synthesized by a one‐step wet chemical method. Formation of single‐phase compounds was confirmed by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and characterized by photoluminescence (PL) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. The average diameter of the particles was calculated from the TEM image as ca. 20 nm. The synthesized nanophosphor exhibited intense blue and yellow emissions at 482 and 575 nm, respectively, owing to the Dy3+ ion, by Hg‐free excitation at 387 nm, i.e. solid‐state lighting excitation. The results obtained showed that phosphors have the potential for applications in the lamp industry. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We report the thermoluminescence properties of Sr1.96Al2SiO7:Eu0.04 and Sr1.92Al2SiO7:Eu0.04Dy0.04 phosphors. These phosphors were prepared by a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction method. The prepared phosphors were characterized by X‐ray diffraction. A 254 nm source was used for ultraviolet (UV) irradiation and a 60Co source was used for γ‐irradiation. The effect of heating rate and UV‐exposure were examined. The thermoluminescence temperature shifts to higher values with increasing heating rate and thermoluminescence intensity increases with increasing UV exposure time. The trapping parameters such as activation energy (E), order of kinetics and frequency factor (s) were calculated by peak shape method. The effect of γ‐ and UV‐irradiation on thermoluminescence studies was also examined.  相似文献

A series of praseodymium (Pr3+) ion activated Sr3Gd(1−x)(PO4)3:xPr3+ (0 ≤ x ≤ 2.0 mol%) phosphors were prepared and their structural, compositional and luminescence properties were investigated. The X-ray diffraction profiles indicate that the studied phosphors crystallized into body centred cubic structure and the Pr3+ ions have no influence on Sr3Gd(PO4)3 phase. The high-resolution scanning electron microscopy images show the agglomeration of particles that are inter-connected and form irregular shape Sr3Gd(PO4)3 structures. The excitation transitions corresponding to Pr3+:3H43P2,1,0 transitions at 445, 471 and 483 nm, respectively, matched well with the emission of blue-light-emitting diode (LED) chip. The emission spectra show strong reddish-orange luminescence through 1D23H4 transition when excited at 445 nm blue wavelength. The synthesized phosphors have the potential to be used as reddish-orange lighting devices.  相似文献

Pyrophosphates K2AEP2O7 (AE = Ca, Sr) prepared by the classical solid‐state technique and activated with Ce3+ are described. Intense emission was observed in K2AEP2O7 (AE = Ca, Sr). The effect of Mn2+ co‐doping was studied. The broad emission peak of Mn2+ was observed at 534 nm in K2SrP2O7:Ce3+ and at 539 nm in K2CaP2O7:Ce3+, Mn2+. Mn2+ emission was greatly enhanced by addition of the sensitizer Ce3+ due to efficient energy transfer from Ce3+ to Mn2+. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
