K2TiF6:Mn4+ red phosphors with different Mn4+ doping concentrations were obtained using the co‐precipitation method. X‐Ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectra, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra and decay curves were used to characterize the properties of K2TiF6:Mn4+ phosphors. Under excitation at 470 nm, an intense red emission peak around 631 nm corresponding to the 2Eg4A2 transition of Mn4+ was observed for 2.48 mol% K2TiF6:Mn4+ phosphors and was used as the optimum doping concentration. The excellent luminescent properties of K2TiF6:Mn4+ suggest that this material might be a promising red phosphor for generating warm white light in phosphor‐converted white light‐emitting diodes. Pure and Li+‐doped Alq3 complexes were synthesized by simple precipitation method at room temperature, maintaining the stoichiometric ratio. These complexes were characterized by X‐ray diffraction, ultraviolet‐visible absorption and Fourier transform infrared and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. X‐ray diffraction analysis reveals the crystalline nature of the synthesized complexes, while Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirm the molecular structure, the completion of quinoline ring formation and presence of quinoline structure in the metal complex. Ultraviolet‐visible and PL spectra revealed that Li+ activated Alq3 complexes exhibit the highest intensity in comparison to pure Alq3 phosphor. Thus, Li+ enhances PL emission intensity when doped into Alq3 phosphor. The excitation spectra lie in the range of 383–456 nm. All the synthesized complexes other than Liq give green emission, while Liq gives blue emission with enhanced intensity. Thus, he synthesized phosphors are the best suitable candidates for green‐ and blue‐emitting organic light emitting diode, PL liquid‐crystal display and solid‐state lighting applications. A near ultraviolet excitable phosphor based on Sm3+‐doped YAl3(BO3)4 has been synthesized by modified solid‐state reaction at 1000°C. The phase purity and photoluminescence (PL) behavior of the phosphor are studied in detail using the powder X‐ray diffraction technique and PL measurements. X‐ray diffraction reveals that the phase purity of YAl3(BO3)4 critically depends upon the boric acid concentration. The phosphor has strong excitation at 406 nm in the near ultraviolet region (350–420 nm) and its emission peaks were monitored at 564, 599 and 643 nm. Further, detailed PL analysis demonstrates that the substitution of Sm3+ ions at sites of Y3+ and Al3+ ions enhances the PL efficiency of the phosphor appreciably. First, the PL efficiency of YAl3(BO3)4:Sm3+ was compared with commercial (Y,Gd)BO3:Eu3+ red phosphor. The Fourier transform infrared study provides essential information regarding the change in metal–oxygen bond vibrations of the phosphor. The morphology of the phosphor was investigated through scanning electron microscopy, which reveals that the phosphor possessed distorted spherical and rectangular shapes with average grain sizes in the range 0.5–1 µm. A blue CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+ phosphor was prepared by the solid‐state reaction method and the phosphor characterized in terms of crystal structure, particle size, photoluminescence (PL), thermoluminescence (TL) and mechanoluminescence (ML) properties using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), PL spectroscopy, TLD reader and ML impact technique. The XRD result shows that phosphor is formed in a single phase and has a monoclinic structure with the space group C2/c. Furthermore, the PL excitation spectra of Eu2+‐doped CaMgSi2O6 phosphor showed a strong band peak at 356 nm and the PL emission spectrum has a peak at 450 nm. The depths and frequency factors of trap centers were calculated using the TL glow curve by deconvolution method in which the trap depths were found to be 0.48 and 0.61 eV. The formation of CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+ phosphor was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The ML intensity increased linearly with the impact velocity of the piston used to deform the phosphor. It was shown that the local piezoelectricity‐induced electron bombardment model is responsible for the ML emission. Finally, the optical properties of CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+ phosphors are discussed. Cerium (Ce3+)‐doped (1, 3, and 7 mol%) yttrium vanadate phosphors were prepared using a co‐precipitation technique. The structural and optical properties of the synthesized samples were studied using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR‐TEM), optical absorption, and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy techniques. The tetragonal structure and the formation of the nanosized crystallites in the YVO4:Ce phosphor were confirmed using XRD analysis. HR‐TEM morphology showed rod‐like nanoparticles of different sizes. Optical absorption spectra demonstrated strong absorption bands at 268 and 276 nm. PL spectra showed strong peaks at 546, 574, and 691 nm following excitation at 300 nm. The calculated CIE chromaticity coordinates demonstrated that YVO4:Ce could be used as a novel phosphor for the development of light‐emitting diode lamps.  相似文献

Cu(II) ion‐doped NaCaAlPO4F3 phosphor has been synthesized using a solid state reaction method. The prepared sample is characterized by powder X‐ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, optical absorption, electron paramagnetic resonance photoluminescence and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy techniques. The crystallite size evaluated from x‐ray diffraction data is in nanometers. Scanning electron microscopy micrographs showed the presence of several irregular shaped particles. From optical absorption and electron paramagnetic resonance spectral data the doped Cu(II) ions are ascribed to distorted octahedral site symmetry. The synthesized phosphor exhibits emission bands in ultraviolet, blue and green regions under the excitation wavelength of 335 nm. The CIE chromaticity coordinates (x = 0.159, y = 0.204) also calculated for the prepared sample from the emission spectrum. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy spectrum revealed the characteristic vibrational bands of the prepared phosphor material. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor was prepared by the solid‐state reaction method under a weak reducing atmosphere. The obtained phosphor was characterized using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX) and Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) techniques. The phase structure of the Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor was akermanite type, which is a member of the melilite group. The surface morphology of the sintered phosphor was not uniform and phosphors aggregated tightly. EDX and FT‐IR spectra confirm the elements present in the Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor. Under UV excitation, a broadband emission spectrum was found. The emission spectra observed in the green region centered at 535 nm, which is due to the 4f–5d transition. The mechanoluminescence (ML) intensity of the prepared phosphor increased linearly with increases in the mechanical load. The ML spectra were similar to the photoluminescence (PL), which indicates that ML is emitted from the same emitting center of Eu2+ ions as PL. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, europium‐doped strontium aluminate (SrAl2O4:Eu2+) phosphors were synthesized using a combustion method with urea as a fuel at 600°C. The phase structure, particle size, surface morphology and elemental analysis were studied using X‐ray diffractometry (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra. The EDX and FTIR spectra confirm the elements present in the SrAl2O4:Eu2+ phosphor. The optical properties of SrAl2O4:Eu2+ phosphors were investigated by photoluminescence (PL) and mechanoluminescence (ML). The excitation and emission spectra showed a broad band with peaks at 337 and 515 nm, respectively. The ML intensities of SrAl2O4:Eu2+ phosphor increased proportionally with the increase in the height of the mechanical load, which suggests that this phosphor could be used in stress sensors. The CIE colour chromaticity diagram and ML spectra confirm that the SrAl2O4:Eu2+ phosphor emitted green coloured light. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We report synthesis of a cerium‐activated strontium pyrophosphate (Sr2P2O7) phosphor using a high‐temperature combustion method. Samples were characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), photoluminescence (PL) and thermoluminescence (TL). The XRD pattern reveals that Sr2P2O7 has an α‐phase with crystallization in the orthorhombic space group of Pnam. The IR spectrum of α‐Sr2P2O7 displays characteristic bands at 746 and 1190 cm‐1 corresponding to the absorption of (P2O7)‐4. PL emission spectra exhibit a broad emission band around 376 nm in the near‐UV region due to the allowed 5d–4f transition of cerium and suggest its applications in a UV light‐emitting diode (LED) source. PL also reveals that the emission originates from 5d–4f transition of Ce3+ and intensity increases with doping concentration. TL measurements made after X‐ray irradiation, manifest a single intense glow peak at around 192°C, which suggests that this is an outstanding candidate for dosimetry applications. The kinetic parameters, activation energy and frequency factor of the glow curve were calculated using different analysis methods. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We report the synthesis and structural characterization of Er3+,Yb3+‐doped Gd2O3 phosphor. The sample was prepared using the conventional solid‐state reaction method, which is the most suitable method for large‐scale production. The prepared phosphor sample was characterized using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermoluminescence (TL), photoluminescence (PL) and CIE techniques. For PL studies, the excitation and emission spectra of Gd2O3 phosphor doped with Er3+ and Yb3+ were recorded. The excitation spectrum was recorded at a wavelength of 551 nm and showed an intense peak at 276 nm. The emission spectrum was recorded at 276 nm excitation and showed peaks in all blue, green and red regions, which indicate that the prepared phosphor may act as a single host for white light‐emitting diode (WLED) applications, as verified by International de I'Eclairage (CIE) techniques. From the XRD data, the calculated average crystallite size of Er3+ and Yb3+‐doped Gd2O3 phosphor is ~ 38 nm. A TL study was carried out for the phosphor using UV irradiation. The TL glow curve was recorded for UV, beta and gamma irradiations, and the kinetic parameters were also calculated. In addition, the trap parameters of the prepared phosphor were also studied using computerized glow curve deconvolution (CGCD). Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In the yttrium aluminium system, the YAlO3 phosphor is a prominent host because of the yttrium aluminium ratio (1:1). Phosphor was synthesized by the solid‐state reaction method at variable concentrations of erbium (0.1–2.5 mol%). This method is suitable for large‐scale production and is a less time‐consuming method when compared with the soft synthesis method. The prepared sample was characterized by X‐ray diffraction technique and the crystallite size was calculated by Scherer's formula. Vibrational and bending analysis of prepared phosphor for optimized concentration of erbium ion is described based on the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic technique. The photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra of prepared phosphor for variable concentrations of erbium ion were recorded and the excitation spectrum was found to be at 291 nm with three shoulder peaks at 305, 270 and 242 nm. For 291 nm excitation, the emission spectrum was found at 546 nm and 552 nm. PL intensity increased with increasing concentrations of erbium and after 2 mol% emission intensity decreased due to concentration quenching. Spectrophotometric determination of YAlO3:Er3+ is described by CIE co‐ordinates and shows an intense emission in the green region such that the prepared phosphor can act as a single host for green light emission. Thermoluminescence glow curve analysis of the YAlO3:Er3+ phosphor was recorded for different ultraviolet (UV) light exposures and gamma exposure. Different gamma doses 0.5–2 kGy show a linear response. Kinetic parameters were calculated by the peak shape method. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

An intense green luminescent Na2Ca(PO4)F:Mn2+ phosphor has been prepared at high temperature by reduction treatment in a charcoal environment. The emission band of Mn2+ was obtained at around 522 nm (green) under 259 nm excitation. Enhancement in emission intensity arising from the thermal treatment is reported. The intense emission of the spectrum was assigned to electronic transitions 4T16A1 of Mn2+ ions. Intense PL emission suggested that temperature employed plays an important role in the present matrix. X‐ray diffraction pattern, photoluminescence and morphology by SEM of the host lattice of phosphors at different temperatures have been reported in this paper. The results obtained show that the present phosphor has potential for application in green emitting phosphors for the lamp industry. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A series of Eu2+ activated SrCaP2O7 pyrophosphate phosphors were synthesized by the modified solid‐state reaction method. The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) properties of these phosphors were investigated at room temperature. The excitation spectra indicate that these phosphors can be effectively excited by Hg‐free excitation. The emission spectra exhibit strong blue performance, which is due to the 4f65d1→4f7 transition of Eu2+. The Fourier transform infrared spectrum at room temperature was investigated and surface morphology has been studied by scanning electron microscope. The prepared phosphor exhibited intense blue emission at the 427 nm owing to Eu2+ ion by Hg‐free excitation at 330 nm, that is, solid‐state lighting excitation. Hence, the availability of such a phosphor will significantly help in the growth of blue‐emitting solid‐state lighting applications. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A europium (Eu)‐doped di‐calcium magnesium di‐silicate phosphor, Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+, was prepared using a solid‐state reaction method. The phase structure, particle size, surface morphology, elemental analysis, different stretching mode and luminescence properties were analyzed by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) with energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, photoluminescence (PL) and mechanoluminescence (ML). The phase structure of Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ was an akermanite‐type structure, which belongs to the tetragonal crystallography with space group P4?21m; this structure is a member of the melilite group and forms a layered compound. The surface of the prepared phosphor was not found to be uniform and particle distribution was in the nanometer range. EDX and FTIR confirm the components of Eu2+‐doped Ca2MgSi2O7 phosphor. Under UV excitation, the main emission peak appeared at 530 nm, belonging to the broad emission ascribed to the 4f65d1→4f7 transition of Eu2+. The ML intensity of the prepared phosphor increased linearly with increasing impact velocity. A CIE color chromaticity diagram and ML spectrum confirmed that the prepared Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ phosphor would emit green color and the ML spectrum was similar to that of PL, which indicated that ML is emitted from the same center of Eu2+ ions. A novel far-red emitting phosphor Sr2MgWO6: Mn4+ was fabricated using high-temperature solid-state reaction. X-ray diffraction patterns, scanning electron microscopy images, and photoluminescence excitation and photoluminescence spectra for this phosphor were analyzed in detail. The analysis revealed that its emission ranged from 600 to 800 nm and peaked at 699 nm, which was attributed to the 2Eg4A2g transition of Mn4+ under 314 nm excitation. Moreover, we introduced rare-earth Yb3+ ions into the Sr2MgWO6:Mn4+ to improve its far-red emitting intensity. The photoluminescence (PL) intensity of the Yb3+ co-doped phosphor was three times higher than that of the single-doped phosphor. Therefore charge compensation is an efficient approach to improving PL intensity. The phosphor emitted a far-red light that resembled the pigments essential for plant growth in terms of the absorption spectrum. Therefore, the obtained phosphor, Sr2MgWO6:0.006Mn4+,0.2Yb3+, had the potential to be a new type of far-red luminescent powder for indoor plant growth LEDs.  相似文献

In this study, ZnSe and ZnSe:Cu quantum dots (QDs) were synthesized using Na2SeO3 as the Se source by a rapid and room temperature photochemical (UV‐assisted) approach. Thioglycolic acid (TGA) was employed as the capping agent and UV illumination activated the chemical reactions. Synthesized QDs were successfully characterized using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), photoluminescence (PL) and UV–visible (UV–vis) spectroscopy, Fourier transform‐infrared (FT‐IR), and energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX). XRD analysis demonstrated the cubic zinc blend phase QDs. TEM images indicated that round‐shaped particles were formed, most of which had a diameter of about 4 nm. The band gap of the ZnSe QDs was higher than that for ZnSe in bulk. PL spectra indicated an emission with three peaks related to the excitonic, surface trap states and deep level (DL) states. The band gap and QD emission were tunable only by UV illumination time during synthesis. ZnSe:Cu showed green emission due to transition of electrons from the Conduction band (CB) or surface trap states to the 2T2 acceptor levels of Cu2+. The emission was increased by increasing the Cu2+ ion concentration, such that the optimal value of PL intensity was obtained for the nominal mole ratio of Cu:Zn 1.5%.  相似文献

The BaB2O4:Eu3+ nano/microphosphors with sphere‐, rod‐, and granular‐like morphologies were successfully obtained by a two‐step method using Ba‐B‐O:Eu3+ as the precursor. The structure, morphology and photoluminescent properties of the products were characterized by Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), X‐ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetry‐differential thermal analysis (TG‐DTA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL). The formation mechanisms of Ba‐B‐O:Eu3+ and BaB2O4:Eu3+ were proposed. The results show that the BaB2O4:Eu3+ could retain the original morphologies of their respective precursors largely. The BaB2O4:Eu3+ prepared by this two‐step method exhibited better morphology, smaller particle size and better crystallinity than when prepared by a solid‐state method. The granular‐like BaB2O4:Eu3+ red phosphor prepared by this two‐step method exhibited stronger PL intensity and better red color purity than when prepared by a solid‐state method.  相似文献

Dy3+‐doped ZnO nanofibres with diameters from 200 to 500 nm were made using an electrospinning technique. The as‐fabricated amorphous nanofibres resulted in good crystalline continuous nanofibres through calcination. Dy3+‐doped ZnO nanofibres were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX), X‐ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) light spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and photoluminescence (PL). XRD showed the well defined peaks of ZnO. UV–vis spectra showed a good absorption band at 360 nm. FTIR spectra showed a Zn–O stretching vibration confirming the presence of ZnO. Photoluminescence spectra of Dy3+‐doped ZnO nanofibres showed an emission peak in the visible region that was free from any ZnO defect emission. Emissions at 480 nm and 575 nm in the Dy3+‐doped ZnO nanofibres were the characteristic peaks of dopant Dy3+ and implied efficient energy transfer from host to dopant. Luminescence intensity was found to be increased with increasing doping concentration and reduction in nanofibre diameter. Colour coordinates were calculated from photometric characterizations, which resembled the properties for warm white lighting devices.  相似文献

Dy3+‐doped CaAl12O19 phosphors were synthesized utilizing a combustion method. Crystal structure and morphological examinations were performed respectively using X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques to identify the phase and morphology of the synthesized samples. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) estimations were carried out using the KBr method. Photoluminescence properties (excitation and emission) were recorded at room temperature. CaAl12O19:Dy3+ phosphor showed two emission peaks respectively under a 350‐nm excitation wavelength, centered at 477 nm and 573 nm. Dipole–dipole interaction via nonradiative energy shifting has been considered as the major cause of concentration quenching when Dy3+ concentration was more than 3 mol%. The CIE chromaticity coordinates positioned at (0.3185, 0.3580) for the CaAl12O19:0.03Dy3+ phosphor had a correlated color temperature (CCT) of 6057 K, which is situated in the cool white area. Existing results point out that the CaAl12O19:0.03Dy3+ phosphor could be a favorable candidate for use in white light‐emitting diodes (WLEDs).  相似文献

A novel blue luminescent 6‐chloro‐2‐(4‐cynophenyl) substituted diphenyl quinoline (Cl‐CN DPQ) organic phosphor has been synthesized by the acid‐catalyzed Friedlander reaction and then characterized to confirm structural, optical and thermal properties. Structural properties of Cl‐CN‐DPQ were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction technique (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive analysis of X‐ray (EDAX) spectroscopy. FTIR spectra confirmed the presence of different functional groups and bond stretching. 1H–NMR and 13C–NMR confirmed the formation of an organic Cl‐CN‐DPQ compound. X‐ray diffraction study provided its crystalline nature. The surface morphology of Cl‐CN‐DPQ was analyzed by SEM, while EDAX spectroscopy revealed the elemental analysis. Differential thermal analysis (TGA/DTA) disclosed its thermal stability up to 250°C. The optical properties of Cl‐CN‐DPQ were investigated by UV–vis absorption and photoluminescence (PL) measurements. Cl‐CN‐DPQ exhibits intense blue emission at 434 nm in a solid‐state crystalline powder with CIE co‐ordinates (0.157, 0.027), when excited at 373 nm. Cl‐CN‐DPQ shows remarkable Stokes shift in the range 14800–5100 cm?1, which is the characteristic feature of intense light emission. A narrow full width at half‐maximum (FWHM) value of PL spectra in the range 42–48 nm was observed. Oscillator strength, energy band gap, quantum yield, and fluorescence energy yield were also examined using UV–vis absorption and photoluminescence spectra. These results prove its applications towards developing organic luminescence devices and displays, organic phosphor‐based solar cells and displays, organic lasers, chemical sensors and many more.  相似文献
