Optical materials composed of Ba9–3(m+n)/2ErmYbnY2Si6O24 (m = 0.005–0.2, n = 0–0.3) were prepared using a solid‐state reaction. The X‐ray diffraction patterns of the obtained phosphors were examined to index the peak positions. The photoluminescence (PL) excitation and emission spectra of the Er3+‐activated phosphors and the critical emission quenching as a function of Er3+ content in the Ba9–3m/2ErmY2Si6O24 structure were monitored. The spectral conversion properties of Er3+ and Er3+–Yb3+ ions doped in Ba9Y2Si6O24 phosphors were elucidated under diode‐laser irradiation at 980 nm. Up‐conversion emission spectra and the dependence of the emission intensity on pump power for the Ba8.55Er0.1Yb0.2Y2Si6O24 phosphor were investigated. The desired up‐conversion of the emitted light, which passed through the green, yellow, orange and red regions of the spectrum, was achieved through the use of appropriate Er3+ and/or Yb3+ concentrations in the host structure and 980 nm excitation light. A series of Sr1‐x‐yCayMoO4:xSm3+ (0 ≤ x ≤ 7 mol% and 0 ≤ y < 1) phosphors was synthesized by a conventional solid‐state reaction method in air, and their structural and spectroscopic properties were investigated. The optimal doping concentration of Sm3+ in SrMoO4:Sm3+ phosphor is 5 mol%. Under excitation with 275 nm, in Sr1‐x‐yCayMoO4:xSm3+ (0 ≤ x ≤ 7 mol% and 0 ≤ y < 1) phosphors, the emission band of the host was found to overlap with the excitation bands peaking at ~500 nm of Sm3+ ion, and the energy transfer from MoO42? group to Sm3+ ion can also be observed. The International Commission on Illumination (CIE) chromaticity coordinates of Sr0.95‐yCayMoO4:0.05Sm3+ phosphors with excitation 275 nm varied systematically from an orange (0.4961, 0.3761) (y = 0) to a white color (0.33, 0.3442) (y = 0.95) with increasing calcium oxide (CaO) concentration. However, Sr0.95‐yCayMoO4:0.05Sm3+ phosphors with excitation at 404 nm only showed red emission and the energy transfer between MoO42? group to Sm3+ ion was not observed. Two julichrome monomers, julichromes Q11 ( 1 ) and Q12 ( 2 ), along with five known julichromes (Q10, Q3 ? 5, Q3 ? 3, Q6 ? 6, Q6, 3 – 7 ) and four known anthraquinones (chrysophanol, 4‐acetylchrysophanol, islandicin, huanglongmycin A, 8 – 11 ), were isolated from the marine gastropod mollusk Batillaria zonalis‐associated Streptomyces sampsonii SCSIO 054. This is the first report of julichromes isolated from a marine source. Extensive dissection of 1D and 2D NMR datasets combined with X‐ray crystallography enabled rigorous elucidation of the previously reported configurations of julichrome Q3 ? 5 ( 4 ) and related julichrome Q3 ? 3 ( 5 ); both of the configuration at C(9) needs to be revised. In addition, julichrome Q12 ( 2 ) was found to display antibacterial activity against Micrococcus luteus and Bacillus subtilis with MICs of 2.0 and 8.0 μg mL?1; four compounds ( 1 , 3 , 6 , 7 ) also showed inhibitory activities against an array of methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus, S. aureus and S. simulans AKA1 with MIC values ranging from 8 to 64 μg mL?1.  相似文献

Salvia × westerae is described and illustrated, its floral characteristics being contrasted with those of its parents. The characteristics and distribution of the parent species, Salvia haenkei and S. orbignaei, are discussed and short biographies of their eponymous discoverers, Haenke and D'Orbigny are provided. A solid‐state reaction route‐based LiTi2 ? xEux(PO4)3 was phosphor synthesized for the first time to evaluate its luminescence performance by excitation, emission and lifetime (τ) measurements. The LiTi2 ? xEux(PO4)3 phosphor was excited at λexci. = 397 nm to give an intense orange–red (597 nm) emission attributed to the 5D07F1 magnetic dipole (ΔJ = ±1) transition and red (616 nm) emission (5D07F2), which is an electric dipole (ΔJ = ±2) transition of the Eu3+ ion. Beside this, excitation and emission spectra of host LiTi2(PO4)3 powder were also reported. The effect of Eu3+ concentration on luminescence characteristics was explained from emission and lifetime profiles. Concentration quenching in the LiTi2 ? xEux(PO4)3 phosphor was studied from the Dexter's model. Dipole–quadrupole interaction is found to be responsible for energy transfer among Eu3+ ions in the host lattice. The LiTi2 ? xEux(PO4)3 phosphor displayed a reddish‐orange colour realized from a CIE chromaticity diagram. We therefore suggest that this new phosphor could be used as an optical material of technological importance in the field of display devices. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

High‐quality CdxZn1 – xSe and CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS core/shell quantum dots (QDs) emitting in the violet–green spectral range have been successfully prepared using hydrothermal methods. The obtained aqueous CdxZn1 – xSe and CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS QDs exhibit a tunable photoluminescence (PL) emission (from 433.5 nm to 501.2 nm) and a favorable narrow photoluminescence bandwidth [full width at half maximum (FWHM): 30–42 nm]. After coating with a ZnS shell, the quantum yield increases from 40.2% to 48.1%. These CdxZn1 – xSe and CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS QDs were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. To further understand the alloying mechanism, the growth kinetics of CdxZn1 – xSe were investigated through measuring the fluorescence spectra and X‐ray diffraction spectra at different growth intervals. The results demonstrate that the inverted ZnSe/CdSe core/shell structure is formed initially after the injection of Cd2+. With further heating, the core/shell structured ZnSe/CdSe is transformed into alloyed CdxZn1 – xSe QDs with the diffusion of Cd2+ into ZnSe matrices. With increasing the reaction temperature from 100 °C to 180 °C, the duration time of the alloying process decreases from 210 min to 20 min. In addition, the cytotoxicity of CdxZn1 – xSe and CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS QDs were investigated. The results indicate that the as‐prepared CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS QDs have low cytotoxicity, which makes them a promising probe for cell imaging. Finally, the as‐prepared CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS QDs were utilized to ultrasensitively and selectively detect Hg2+ ions with a low detection limit (1.8 nM).  相似文献

A series of phosphors KAl1‐xPO4Cl:Eux3+ (0.1 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) was synthesized using a facile combustion method using urea as a fuel and their structural, morphological and photoluminescence properties were investigated. It was found that the particle size was in the range of 1–2 µm with an irregular shape. The f–f transitions of Eu3+ in the host lattice were assigned and discussed. The excitation and emission spectra indicated that this phosphor can be efficiently excited by ultraviolet (395 nm), and exhibit reddish orange emission corresponding to the 5D07FJ (J = 0, 1, 2) transitions of Eu3+. The impact of the Eu3+ concentration on the relative emission intensity was investigated, and the best doping concentration is 0.5. The present study suggests that the KAl0.5PO4Cl: Eu0.53+ phosphor is a strong candidate as a red component for phosphor‐ converted white light‐emitting diodes (LEDs). 1. Selection does not only operate in a genotype (G) × environment (E) context, but can also be modulated by the activities of organisms interacting with their environment (G × G × E). 2. The influences of aphid clonal identity and host plant (Vicia faba) intraspecific genetic variation on the performance of five genotypes of pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum) were investigated – with and without interaction with a competing heterospecific clone of vetch aphid (Megoura viciae) – across three cultivars of V. faba. 3. Pea aphid performance in the presence of a competing vetch aphid clone (G × G × E) compared with the absence of competition (G × E) revealed strong context‐dependent, genotype‐specific shifts in performance, influenced by plant cultivar, competitor presence and their interaction. 4. The performance of vetch aphid in competition with each pea aphid clone was also compared. Here, competitor's genotype and abundance underlay a remarkably varied response by vetch aphid across interactions. 5. The study shows that aphid genotypes exhibit a varying degree of risk spreading, contingent on competitor identity and the patterns of aggregation across three plant cultivars. Owing to feedback loops between species activities and selective forces acting on them, our findings suggest that there are context‐dependent responses by competitors that are shaped via the interplay of the co‐occurring species and their biotic environment. 6. This work highlights the complexity of species interactions and the importance of investigating reciprocity between competition and intraspecific genetic variation. A better understanding of the eco‐evolutionary interactions between phloem‐feeding insects and their host plants can potentially be used to enhance crop protection and pest control.  相似文献

Two pairs of new neolignan enantiomers, (±)‐torreyayunan A ( 1a / 1b ) and (±)‐torreyayunan B ( 2a / 2b ), featuring a rare C‐8 ? C‐9′ linked skeleton, were isolated from leaves and twigs of Torreya yunnanensis. Their absolute configuration involving two chiral centers was determined by combined spectral and Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculation. This investigation was undertaken because biological studies to evaluate the effects of intermediate frequency magnetic fields are insufficient. White Leghorn fertile eggs (60/group) were either exposed to a 20 kHz, 1.1 mT(rms) sinusoidal magnetic field or sham‐exposed during the first 2, 7, or 11 days of embryogenesis. Lower dose exposures at 0.011 and 0.11 mT(rms) for 2 days were also conducted to elucidate possible dose–response relationships. Additional eggs given all‐trans‐retinoic acid, a teratogen, were exposed to the 1.1 mT(rms) magnetic field for the same periods to investigate the modification of embryotoxicity. After exposure, embryos were examined for mortality and developmental abnormalities. Developmental stage, number of somite pairs, and other developmental endpoints were also evaluated. Experiments were triplicated and conducted in a blind fashion. No exposure‐related changes were found in any of the endpoints in intact embryos exposed to1.1 mT(rms) or to the lower doses of 0.11 and 0.011 mT(rms) magnetic fields. Retinoic acid administration produced embryotoxic responses, which were embryonic death and developmental abnormalities, in 40–60% of embryos in the sham‐exposed groups. The magnitude of these responses was not changed significantly by the magnetic field exposures. Under the present experimental conditions, exposure to 20 kHz magnetic field up to 1.1 mT(rms) was not embryotoxic in the chick and did not potentiate the embryotoxic action of retinoic acid. The horn fly Haematobia irritans (Diptera: Muscidae) is a blood obligate ectoparasite of bovids that causes annual losses to the U.S. beef cattle industry of over US$1.75 billion. Climate warming, the anthropogenic dispersion of bovids and the cross‐breeding of beef cattle with other bovid species may facilitate novel horn fly–host interactions. In particular, hybridizing yaks [Bos grunniens (Artiodactyla: Bovidae)] with beef cows (Bos taurus) for heterosis and carcass improvements may increase the exposure of yak × beef hybrids to horn flies. The present paper reports on the collection of digital images of commingled beef heifers (n = 12) and F1 yak × beef hybrid bovids (heifers, n = 7; steers, n = 5) near Laramie, Wyoming (~ 2200 m a.s.l.) in 2018. The total numbers of horn flies on beef heifers and F1 yak × beef heifers [mean ± standard error (SE): 88 ± 13 and 70 ± 17, respectively] did not differ significantly; however, F1 yak × beef steers had greater total horn fly abundance (mean ± SE: 159 ± 39) than female bovids. The present report of this experiment is the first such report in the literature and suggests that F1 yak × beef bovids are as susceptible as cattle to horn fly parasitism. Therefore, similar monitoring and treatment practices should be adopted by veterinarians, entomologists and producers.  相似文献

KNaSO4 microphosphor doped with Ce,Gd and Ce,Tb and prepared by a wet chemical method was studied using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL) characterization. KNaSO4 has a 5‐µm particle size detected by SEM. KNaSO4:Ce3+,Tb3+ showed blue and green emission (at 494 nm, 557 nm, 590 nm) of Tb3+ due to 5D47FJ (J = 4, 5, 6) transitions. KNaSO4:Ce3+,Gd3+ showed luminescence in the ultraviolet (UV) light region at 314 nm for an excitation at 271 nm wavelength. It was observed that efficient energy transfer took place from Ce3+ → Gd3+ and Ce3+ → Tb3+ sublattices indicating that Ce3+ could effectively sensitize Gd3+ or Tb3+ (green emission). Ce3+ emission weakened and Gd3+ or Tb3+ enhanced the emission significantly in KNaSO4.
