During investigation on the helminth parasites from Brycon hilarii Valenciennes, 1850 (Characiformes, Characidae), from River Juba, Tangará da Serra, state of Mato Grosso, Brazil, several specimens of the nematode Neocucullanus Travassos, Artigas et Pereira, 1928 were detected. A detailed study of this material, including scanning electron microscopy, allowed to identify these nematodes as N. neocucullanus Travassos, Artigas et Pereira, 1928 and to confirm N. multipapillatus Petter, 1989 as a junior synonym of N. neocucullanus.  相似文献

A revision of genera and species is given for three families of the Thelastomatoidea (Oxyurida; Nematoda), namely the Travassosinematidae, the Pseudonymidae and the Protrelloididae. The Travassosinematidae combines the Chitwoodiellidae (minus the Aorurinae and Philippinematinae) and Pulchrocephalidae of Kloss (1960), as well as two genera, Binema Travassos and Isobinema Rao, considered as members of the Thelastomatidae by Kloss. In addition to the two above named, the family includes the type-genus Travassosinema Rao, Chitwoodiella Basir, Indiana Chakravarty, Mirzaiella Basir, Mohibiella Farooqui, Pteronemella Rao, Pulchrocephala Travassos and Singhiella Rao. Gryllocola gryllotalpae Singh & Singh and G. indicus Singh & Singh are transferred to Mirzaiella. Gryllonema Kakulia, with the type-species G. bispiculatum, is considered a synonym of Mirzaiella. The Pseudonymidae combines the Gyoeryiinae of Kloss and Itaguaiana Kloss; in addition to the latter genus are included Pseudonymus Diesing, Jarryella Van Waerebeke & Remillet, Stegonema Travassos and Zonothrix Todd. The Protrelloididae combines Kloss' Protrelloidinae and Protrelletinae, and includes Protrelloides Chitwood, Napolitana Kloss, Protrellatus Farooqui, Protrelleta Chitwood and Protrellus Cobb.  相似文献

Sagum posteli Delamare-Deboutteville & Nunes-Ruivo, 1954 (Copepoda: Lernanthropidae) is reported from the white grouper Epinephelus aeneus Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire caught off the Turkish Mediterranean coast. This documents the first discovery of this species in the Mediterranean and is only the second record. The species is redescribed from adult females and the cephalothoracic limbs are described for the first time. The valid species of the genus Sagum Wilson, 1913 are reviewed, and the poorly described species S. poeyi Ortiz, Lalana & Suarez, 2003 is relegated as a junior synonym of S. texanum Pearse, 1952, described from the same host. A key is provided to females of the ten valid species of Sagum and the known hosts for all species are summarised.  相似文献

Dactylogyridean monogeneans of the siluriform fishes of the Old World   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
This is a catalogue and discussion of the known dactylogyridean monogenean genera of siluriform fishes of the Old World. Of a total of 38 nominal genera, only 19 are considered valid. Seventeen of these 19 genera are currently in the Ancyrocephalidae (containing the Ancyrocephalinae and Ancylodiscoidinae), whilst the other two (Neocalceostoma and Neocalceostomoides) are in the Neocalceostomatidae. The 17 genera are Anchylodiscus, Ancylodiscoides, Bagrobdella, Bifurcohaptor, Bychowskyella, Chauhanellus, Cornudiscoides, Hamatopeduncularia, Mizelleus, Paraquadriacanthus, Pseudancylodiscoides, Protoancylodiscoides, Quadriacanthus, Schilbetrema, Schilbetrematoides, Synodontella and Thaparocleidus. Clariotrema Long, 1981 and Neobychowskyella Ma, Wang & Li, 1983 are considered synonyms of Bychowskyella Akhmerov, 1952, Anacornuatus Dubey, Gupta & Agarwal, 1992 is considered a synonym of Quadriacanthus Paperna, 1961, Mizellebychowskia Gupta & Sachdeva, 1990 is considered a synonym of Neocalceostoma Tripathi, 1959 and Hargitrema Tripathi, 1959 is treated as a synonym of Hamatopeduncularia Yamaguti, 1953. It is proposed that the Ancylodiscoidinae be raised to family status within the order Dactylogyridea to accommodate these 17 `ancyrocephalid' genera from siluriforms, together with Malayanodiscoides and Notopterodiscoides from notopterids. A key and the diagnostic characteristics of the 19 recognised dactylogyridean genera from catfishes plus two from notopterids, together with a list of species and synonyms, are included. New combinations made in this work are Thaparocleidus avicularia (Chen, 1987) n. comb., T. calyciflorus (Chen, 1987) n. comb., T. choanovagina (Luo & Lang, 1981) n. comb., T. dissimilis (Chen, 1988) n. comb., T. leiocassis (Reichenbach-Klinke, 1959) n. comb., T. meticulosa (Chen, 1987) n. comb., T. parasoti (Zhao & Ma, 1999) n. comb., T. persculpus (Chen, 1987) n. comb., T. valga (Chen, 1987) n. comb. and T. wulingensis (Yao & Wang, 1997) n. comb. [all from Silurodiscoides] and Bychowskyella glyptothoraci (Ma, Wang & Li, 1983) n. comb. [from Neobychowskyella].  相似文献

Summary A type specimen of Steinernema kraussei and a population of this nematode from the type host were compared with three species of Neoaplectana. No characters were found to separate the two genera and so Neoplectana Steiner, 1929 is considered to be a junior synonym of Steinernema Travassos, 1927. Valid species now included within the genus Steinernema are: S. kraussei (Steiner, 1923) Travassos, 1927 (type species); S. glaseri (Steiner, 1929) n.comb.; S. feltiae (Filipjev, 1934) n.comb. and S. bibionis (Bovien, 1937) n.comb. A key is given to these four species and their junior synonyms are listed.  相似文献

The contribution of Jonathan Pereira to plant taxonomy is reviewed. He described three species in the course of his extensive publications on materia medica. All three are members of the Zingiberaceae. Elettaria cardamomum-zeylanicum J. Pereira from Sri Lanka has been completely overlooked since its publication. It is a synonym of Elettaria cardamomum var. major Baker. The West African Amomum citratum J. Pereira is correctly known as Aframomum citratum (J. Pereira) K. Schum. Amomum korarima J. Pereira is a synonym of Aframomum corrorima (A. Braun) P. C. M. Jansen, an important spice-plant from Ethiopia. The typification of these taxa and their synonyms is reviewed. This includes new lectotypifications for two species described by Gaertner, Zingiber ensal and Z. minus. A note concerning the valid publication of 14 nomenclatural novelties by B. A. Abeywickrama is included.  相似文献

The infrequently reported allocreadiid digenean Creptotrema funduli Mueller, 1934 is documented from the blackstripe topminnow, Fundulus notatus (Cyprinodontiformes: Fundulidae), in the headwaters of the Biloxi River, Harrison County, Mississippi. Specimens from Mississippi were compared with the type material from Fundulus diaphanus menona from Oneida Lake, New York, and no substantial difference was found. A fragment of ribosomal DNA, comprising a short portion of the 3' end of 18S nuclear rDNA gene, internal transcribed spacer (ITS) genes (including ITS1, 5.8S, and ITS2), and the 5' end of the 28S gene including variable domains D1-D3 was sequenced for the species. A portion of the 28S rDNA gene from C. funduli, plus similar fragments from 8 other allocreadiids and the callodistomatid Prosthenhystera sp., were aligned and subjected to maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference analyses. Resulting phylogenetic trees were derived from the analyses and used to estimate the relationship of Creptotrema Travassos, Artigas, and Pereira, 1928 with other allocreadiids. Creptotrema was found to be closely related to Megalogonia Surber, 1928 and 3 Neotropical genera, i.e., Wallinia Pearse, 1920, Creptotrematina Yamaguti, 1954, and Auriculostoma Scholz, Aguirre-Macedo, and Choudhury, 2004. No molecular data were available for species in Creptotrema prior to this study, so the ITS1, 5.8S, and ITS2 genes have been made available for comparative studies involving neotropical species in the genus.  相似文献

Parataenia Linton cannot exist as a cestode genus as it is preoccupied. Discobothrium van Beneden is not a junior synonym of Echeneibothrium van Beneden, and Hornellobothrium Shipley & Hornell and Eniochobothrium Shipley & Hornell are very likely not junior synonyms of Discobothrium. Hexacanalis Perrenoud should be considered a junior synonym of Cephalobothrium Shipley & Hornell. Yogeshwaria Chincholikar & Shinde, Spinocephalum Deshmukh and Flapocephalus Deshmukh are considered unrecognisable. Staurobothrium Shipley & Hornell should be returned to the Phyllobothriidae. Balanobothrium Hornell should remain in the Onchobothriidae Braun. The order Lecanicephalidea was not established by Baylis. There are no grounds for recognising the superfamily Lecanicephaloidea Southwell which contains only the Lecanicephalidae Braun. The elevation of the lecanicephalids to an order, the Lecanicephala, does not appear to be valid. To avoid further confusion the scheme set out by Braun (1900) should be used as a basis for classification of the lecanicephalids.  相似文献

Testudotaenia testudo (Magath, 1924) is redescribed from the intestine of the softshell turtle Apalone spinifera (Le Sueur) (Trionychidae) and the bowfin Amia calva Linnaeus (Amiidae) from Reelfoot Lake, Tennessee, United States. A new subfamily, the Testudotaeniinae, is erected. The new taxon differs from all proteocephalidean subfamilies in the position of the genital organs in relation to the longitudinal internal musculature, i.e. the testes are cortical, rarely medullary; the ovary is partly medullary, with cortical lobes; the vitelline follicles are mainly medullary, with some follicles in the cortex; and the uterus is cortical. A key to the subfamilies of the order Proteocephalidea Mola, 1928 is provided. The most characteristic features of T. testudo are the precocious uterine aperture, the presence of internal uterine pores (as previously described for Proteocephalus paraguayensis (Rudin, 1917)), the eggs laid unripe, the very long strobila (up to 970 mm), and the presence of an anterior circular musculature in the suckers, which is considered as a good differential character. Three other species were found in Amia calva: Proteocephalus perplexus La Rue, 1911, P. ambloplitis (Leidy, 1887) and a new, undescribed form. Sequences of the partial nuclear 28S rRNA gene of specimens of T. testudo from Apalone spinulifera and Amia calva confirm the conspecificity of samples from these two very distinct hosts, which may represent a capture phenomenon. As the subfamily Adenobrechmoinae Bursey, Goldberg & Kraus, 2006 and the genus Adenobrechmos Bursey, Goldberg & Kraus, 2006 are based on the presence of an apical organ, a character which reflects a rather common convergence, we consider the Adenobrechmoinae to be a junior synonym of the Proteocephalinae La Rue, 1911 and Adenobrechmos a junior synonym of Ophiotaenia La Rue, 1911. Adenobrechmos greeri Bursey, Goldberg & Kraus, 2006 thus becomes Ophiotaenia greeri (Bursey, Goldberg & Kraus, 2006) n. comb.  相似文献
