A new species of Adenocalymma (Bignoniaceae, Bignonieae) is described and illustrated. Adenocalymmacalcareum Udulutsch & P. Dias sp. nov. is known only from the Rondônia State of western Brazil. Its main diagnostic features are dark yellow corolla provided with nectaries, lepidote ovary, glabrous capsule with prominently thick and calcareous wings and wingless seeds. A discussion on the relationships of the new taxon and a key to all species of Adenocalymma reported from Brazilian Amazonia are provided.  相似文献

A new teleomorphic genus Ascobotryozyma, with a single species, A. americana, is proposed. Its anamorph is a Botryozyma that differs from the type species, B. nematodophila, on distributional, physiological, and molecular criteria; it is described as Botryozyma americana, anam. sp. nov. Ascobotryozyma is characterized by globose asci bearing four lunate ascospores. Fusion of thallus cells precedes ascus formation. Ascobotryozyma americana was isolated from the surface of nematodes (Panagrellus dubius) associated with galleries of the poplar borer (Saperda calcarata) in trembling aspen (Populus tremuloides) in eastern Washington, USA. The teleomorph has not been produced in pure culture.  相似文献

A new species of Gloeococcns, G. minutissimus, is described from unialgal culture; the organism was isolated from soil collected near Bastrop, Bastrop Co., Texas. This alga consistently produced Chlamydomonas-like vegetative cells that were motile within nonmotile colonies of definite shape. Its taxonomic position is also discussed.  相似文献

A new species of Paederia L. (Rubiaceae, Rubioideae, Paederieae), P. ntiti Mouly & Puff, endemic to the Comoros (Grande Comore, Anjouan and Mayotte) and occurring in natural elevated forests is described and illustrated. Its conservation status is evaluated and the species is rated ‘Endangered’ (EN). A key to the Paederia taxa of the Comorian archipelago is provided. Also included are notes on the three other species of rubiaceous climbers and lianas known from the Comoros: Paederia bojeriana (A. Rich. ex DC.) A new species of Manihot was discovered in the course of revising the taxonomy of some species of the genus occurring in the Midwest Region of Brazil. Its morphology resembles species which belong to different sections of the genus. However, a set of characters related to stem, leaves, inflorescences and flowers serves to differentiate it from the closest species, especially from M. falcata, to which it is most similar. The geographical distribution and conservation status of the new species as well as its flowering and fruiting period are also provided. Additionally, anatomical information about the aerial parts of the stem, a novelty regarding the wild species of the genus, is provided.  相似文献

Trachyspermum reginei Ajani & Mozzaff. sp. nov., is described and illustrated as a new species from Chaharmahale Bakhtiari province, SW Iran. The new species differs from its closest relative T. confusum, endemic to Afghanistan, mainly by stem, leaf and fruit morphological characters. Its taxonomic relationships with T. podlechii and T. ammi are also discussed. The new species is threatened by different factors and its protection is recommended.  相似文献

The sexual behaviour of Harpagoxenus canadensis closely resembles that of European H. sublaevis. Young ♀♀ of both species exhibit a sexual-calling behaviour (Locksterzeln) during which they attract the ♂♂ by poison gland secretion. The sexual pheromones of both species seem to be identical, but interspecific mating is prevented by various behavioural mechanisms of the ♀♀. A third species, H. americanus, seems to be less closely related to H. canadensis and H. sublaevis: Its ♂♂ are not sensitive to the pheromones of these two species.  相似文献

A new photosynthetic dinoflagellate species, Coolia canariensis S. Fraga sp. nov., is described based on samples taken from tidal ponds on the rocky shore of the Canary Islands, northeast Atlantic Ocean. Its morphology was studied by LM and SEM. It is almost spherical and has a thick smooth theca with many scattered pores. Plate 1′ is the biggest of the epithecal plates, and 7″ is twice as wide as it is long. Phylogeny inferred from the D1/D2 regions of the LSU nuclear rDNA of three strains of C. canariensis and several strains of other Coolia species, C. monotis, C. sp., showed that C. canariensis strains clustered in a well‐supported clade distinct from the other species. No toxins were detected using mouse bioassay, liquid chromatography with Fluorescence detection (LC‐FLD) or liquid chromatography‐mass spectrometry (LC‐MS). Its pigment composition is of the peridinin type of dinoflagellates. Together with this new species, many other strains of C. monotis from the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea have been analyzed for toxin presence, and no evidence of toxin production related to yessotoxins (YTXs) was found, as was previously suggested for C. monotis from Australia.  相似文献

Packera insulae-regalis (Asteraceae, Senecioneae) is a new species that is only known from one population occurring near the summit of Mount Franklin on Isle Royale, Michigan, U.S.A. It resembles both P. paupercula and P. indecora but is hexaploid, whereas the former has diploid and tetraploid populations and the latter is octoploid around the western Great Lakes. Whereas most species of Packera are self-incompatible (as is P. paupercula) and a few are self-compatible (as is P. indecora), P. insulae-regalis is unique in the genus in being partially self-compatible, as far as is known. Its origin post-glacially by hybridization between these two species is hypothesized.  相似文献

Alstroemeria hygrophila andA. orchidioides are both described as new from the state of Goiás (including Distrito Federal) in Brazil.Alstroemeria hygrophila is a cerrado bog-dwelling species that grows semi-epiphytically on the culms of a sedge. The vegetative stems of this species characteristically zig-zag between the pseudonodes. Like other wetlandAlstroemeria in Brazil (e.g.,A. apertiflora, A. isabellana, andA. sellowiana),A. hygrophila has wiry stems bearing narrow, lanceolate, nonresupinate leaves, and does not form root tubers.Alstroemeria orchidioides is a hysteranthus forest understory species with large vegetative leaves aggregated at the apex of the stems. The leaves on flowering stems are reduced to scarious bract-like scales. Its flowers are a pale, nearly white, greenish yellow, a color not reported in any other Brazilian species. Passiflora punicea Ruiz & Pavón ex DC., considered by Maxwell T. Masters (1872) and E. P. Killip (1938) to be a synonym of P. vitifolia Kunth is here reinstated at species rank. It is described and illustrated in colour and with black and white line drawings. Its history, distribution, similarities to related species and cultivation are discussed.
