The metabolism of n-alkyleyclohexanes with an even number of carbon atoms (6, 8, 10, 12, 14) in the side chain by Micrococcus sp. RCO-4M was investigated. Evidence for the formation of cyclohexanecarboxylic acid (I), cyclohexaneacetic acid (II), 1-cyclohexenecarboxylic acid (III), 6-hydroxyhexanoic acid (IV), adipic acid (V), and trans-4-hydroxycyclohexaneacetic acid (VI) is presented. The presence of products (II), (IV) and (V) especially represent the complete degradation of n-alkylcyclohexanes with an even number of carbon atoms in the side chain by a single organism. The occurrence of a newly-identified product (VI) suggests that a new metabolic pathway for n-alkylcyclohexanes with even-carbon-number side chain operates in this organism.  相似文献

Peripubertal gilts (n = 25) were treated with corn oil (CO) or ovarian steroids, one month following an ovariectomy. The first day of treatment was assigned as the first day of the experiment. The gilts received: Group (Gr) I (n = 4)--CO (2 mL x day(-1) from 1st to 12th day), Gr II (n = 4) and Gr III (n = 4)--progesterone (P4; 10 to 100 mg x day(-1) from 1st to 12th day), Gr IV (n = 5)--estradiol benzoate (EB; 400 microg x day(-1) from 1st to 3rd day), Gr V (n = 4) and Gr VI (n = 4)--EB + P4 (EB 400 microg x day(-1) from 1st to 3rd day, 20 microg x day(-1) at 6th and 9th day, 50 microg at 12th day plus P4 10 to 100 mg from 4th to 15th day). All gilts were injected with oxytocin (OT; 20 IU; i.v.) on the following days of the experiment: 13th (Gr I and Gr II), 15th (Gr III and Gr IV), 16th (Gr V) and 18th (Gr VI). Concentrations of the PGF2alpha metabolite--PGFM were determined in blood samples, collected from 30 min before to 120 min after OT injection. Baseline PGFM concentrations (30 min before OT) differed among treatment groups and were the highest in Gr V and Gr VI (P < 0.01 vs. other groups). The magnitude of the PGFM response to OT increased only in four of the five gilts of Gr IV and in three of the four gilts of Gr VI, and it was higher (P = 0.009) in Gr VI than in Gr IV. In the remaining groups, PGFM concentrations did not increase above the baseline in response to OT. The day after OT injection, oxytocin receptors (OTR) were found in the uterine tissues of all animals studied. The lowest OTR concentrations were in Gr I--75.5 +/- 11.2 fmol x mg protein(-1) and the highest in Gr IV--712.9 +/- 86.7 fmol x mg protein(-1); (P < 0.05 vs. other groups). The values of K of OTR differed among groups (P < 0.001) and ranged from 1.62 +/- 0.44 nM in Gr I to 12. 08 +/- 1.9 nM in Gr VI. A positive correlation (r = 0.54; P < 0.01) between plasma E2 and uterine OTR concentrations was observed. In conclusion, E2 and P4 are involved in both PGF2 synthesis/secretion and OTR formation, however, full PGF response to OT does not develop before puberty. Estrogens are evident stimulators of uterine OTR synthesis ingilts.  相似文献

Haploids, diploids and tetraploids of Cyclamen persicum (2n=x=24, 2x=48 and 4x=96), C. graecum (2n=84) and their interspecific hybrids (2n=45, 3x=66, 4x=90) were analyzed cytologically. The mean chromosome association per PMC at diakinesis or at metaphase I in meiosis was 23.29–23.39 I + 0.31–0.36 II in C. persicum (x), 0.17–0.23 I + 23.88–23.92 II in C. persicum (2x), 0.52–1.18 I + 46.39–46.78 II + 0.03–0.09 III + 0.41–0.48IV in C. persicum (4x) and 0.40–0.46I + 41.34–41.63 II + 0.02 III + 0.07–0.21IV in C. graecum. The mean chromosome association per PMC at diakinesis or at metaphase I was 0.47–0.62 I + 44.69–44.76 II in the hybrid (2n=90) of C. persicum (4x) × C. graecum, 38.48–42.50 I + 1.27–3.26 II in microspore-derived plants (2n=45) from the hybrid (2n=90) by anther culture and 26.22–26.67 I + 19.67–19.89 II in the hybrid (2n=66) of C. persicum (2x) × C. graecum. The results indicate that C. graecum is an autotetraploid, the hybrid (2n=4x=90) is an amphidiploid, the microspore-derived plant (2n=45) is a polyhaploid and the hybrid (2n=3x=66) is a sesquidiploid. Based on studies of meiosis, the ploidy levels and the origin of C. graecum and C. persicum are discussed in comparison with several species in the genus Cyclamen.  相似文献

Dewey, Douglas R. (Utah State U., Logan.) Morphology and (cytology of synthetic hybrids of Agropyron trichophorum X Agropyron cristatum. Amer. Jour. Bot. 50(10): 1028–1034. Illus 1963.—Three hybrids were obtained from controlled crosses of pubescent wheatgrass, A. trichophorum (2n = 42), and hexaploid crested wheatgrass, A. cristatum (211 = 42). The hybrids were intermediate between the parent plants for all vegetative and spike characteristics observed. Under open pollination, 2 of the hybrids set 2 seeds each, and the other hybrid produced 60 seeds. Meiosis in the parent plants was basically regular. Average motaphase-I chromosome associations were 0.09 I, 20.56 II, 0.05 III, and 0.16 IV per cell in the A. trichophorum parent, which was described as a segmental autoallohexaploid. The hexaploid A. cristatum parent averaged 0.18 I, 7.44 II, 0.81 III, 2.86 IV, 0.08 V, and 2.11 VI per cell at diakinesis and was described as an autohexaploid. Chromosome pairing in the hexaploid hybrid averaged 5.08 I, 8.94 II, 4.33 III, 1.11 IV, 0.27 V, and 0.05 VI per cell. On the basis of chromosome pairing in the parent species and their hybrids, it was concluded that 1 of the A. trichophorum genomes was partially homologous with the 3 genomes of hexaploid A. cristatum. Genome formulae for hexaploid A. cristatum, A. trichophorum, and their hybrids were represented as AAAAAA, A1A1B1B1B2B2, and AAAA1B1B2 respectively.  相似文献

Summary

The vegetation of two ultramafic sites (MK1 and MK2) at Meikle Kilrannoch are described. MK1 is dome shaped and has much weathering bedrock whilst MK2 is flatter, lacks weathering bedrock and has probably been entirely peat covered. Six vegetation Groups were recognized: I, high-level blanket bog; II and III, grass heath (with II more sedge-rich); IV, dwarf shrub heath; V and VI, debris (an open vegetation on stony skeletal soils). Vegetation maps were produced which had five mapping units: Group I, Groups II and IH combined, Group IV, Groups V and VI combined, and non-vegetated eroding peat. Three main soil types occur: peat, which underlies Group I; a complex of freely draining magnesian brown soils and imperfectly drained magnesian gleys which bear Groups II–IV; and skeletal soils, derived either from weathering bedrock (MK1 only) or ultramafic drift, which bear vegetation in Groups V or VI. The rare plants are commonest in, but not restricted to, debris vegetation on skeletal soils. The likely plant toxicity of soil magnesium at the sites is reaffirmed but it is suggested that the low plant cover in the debris is more likely to result from low nutrients or intensive frost action or both. Floristic differences between MK1 and MK2 are discussed and quantified for Lychnis alpina (which had 68000individuals on the former site and 46 on the latter) but the causes of the differences remain unexplained.  相似文献

The genusViscum is very suitable for study of structural rearrangements in chromosomes, having very large chromosomes, low basic number and very little polyploidy. An extensive survey of the dioecious speciesV. album (n=10) in Japan has revealed the widespread occurrence of several different chromosomal translocation complexes. Male plants are always heterozygous for large sex-associated translocation complexes, having 6II ⊙8 (six bivalents and a ring-of-eight) or 5II ⊙10 or rarely 4II ⊙12 at meiosis. Female plants are homozygous for these complexes, usually having 10II. There is also a floating ⊙4 which occurs in both male and female plants. Female plants may be heterozygous for another ⊙4 or ⊙6, which do not occur in male plants. Models are presented to account for the relationship between all of the translocations involved. The high levels of translocation heterozygosity are probably important in maintaining heterozygosity in the species for large complexes of adaptive genes. However the sex-associated permanent translocation heterozygosity may have originally been established as a mechanism to stabilize dioecy based on non-allelic unlinked genes for maleness and femaleness.  相似文献

Similarity assessments against one or several references wereused to estimate "earthiness" in 7 pure cyclic alcohols. The "earthy" odor quality of 3 isomers (I, II, IV) of the moldmetabolite "geosmin" (1, 10dimethyl-9-decalol C12H22O) was foundto be present in 2 other alcohols possessing a partial geosminstructure: exo-2-ethyl-fenchol (C11H22O) (V) and cis-cis 2,6-di-methyl-cyclohexanol(C8H16O) (VI). All have in common an axial hydroxy group attachedto a 5 or 6 carbon ring with alpha methyls on both sides. The trans-cis and trans-trans isomers of 2,6 dimethyl cyclohexanol(VII, VIII) both with equatorial hydroxy groups, were rankedas different from the above group. Instead their odor resemblesmore that of their aromatic precursor — 2,4 dimethyl phenol(IX) — than that of their axial isomer (VI). The two trans-ring geosmin isomers (I,II) and 2-ethylfenchol(V) were still judged earthy at up to 1000x the lowest concentrationtested. However, the cis-ring geosmin isomer (IV) and the axial cyclohexanol(VI) were perceived by most subjects to change in quality: earthyat lower concentrations but increasingly different at higherones. Discrimination between earthy odorants decreased with decreasingconcentration. Geosmins I, IV and 2 ethyl-fenchol (V) were particularlyconfused. However, discrimination did not appear to be affectedby prior adaptation to geosmin IV. Subjects appeared to be able to focus on the earthy odor qualitycomponent in single odorants IV, V, VI in which several otherquality components could be discerned as well.  相似文献

Unicellular and multicellular tomato trichomes function as mechanical and chemical barriers against herbivores. Auxin treatment increased the formation of II, V and VI type trichomes in tomato leaves. The auxin response factor gene SlARF4, which was highly expressed in II, V and VI type trichomes, positively regulated the auxin‐induced formation of II, V and VI type trichomes in the tomato leaves. SlARF4 overexpression plants with high densities of these trichomes exhibited tolerance to spider mites. Two R2R3 MYB genes, SlTHM1 and SlMYB52, were directly targeted and inhibited by SlARF4. SlTHM1 was specifically expressed in II and VI type trichomes and negatively regulated the auxin‐induced formation of II and VI type trichomes in the tomato leaves. SlTHM1 down‐regulation plants with high densities of II and VI type trichomes also showed tolerance to spider mites. SlMYB52 was specifically expressed in V type trichomes and negatively regulated the auxin‐induced formation of V type trichome in the tomato leaves. The regulation of SlARF4 on the formation of II, V and VI type trichomes depended on SlTHM1 and SlMYB52, which directly targeted cyclin gene SlCycB2 and increased its expression. In conclusion, our data indicates that the R2R3 MYB‐dependent auxin signalling pathway regulates the formation of II, V and VI type trichomes in tomato leaves. Our study provides an effective method for improving the tolerance of tomato to spider mites.  相似文献

Summary Triploids (2n=3X=60) were obtained from genetic male-sterile (ms1 ms1) soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] plants. Meiosis, pollen fertility, and chromosome number of their progeny were studied. Studies of meiosis in fertile and sterile triploids revealed no distinguishable differences in chromosome associations. Male-sterile plants formed coenocytic microspores characteristic of the ms1 mutant. Restitution of some dyad and tetrad nuclei were observed in male-sterile plants. Chromosomes of the triploids tended to occur in trivalents during diakinesis and metaphase I (MI), but multivalents, bivalents, and univalents also were observed. Average types and frequencies of chromosome associations per cell in diakinesis and MI from 542 pollen mother cells were 0.004 IX + 0.06 VI + 0.002 V + 0.005 IV + 16.99 III + 1.79 II + 5.03 I. Some secondary associations, nonhomologous pairing, and aberrant nucleolar distributions occasionally were observed. Such behavior support the hypothesis of duplicated genomes and the polyploid origin of soybean. Pollen fertility in male-fertile triploid plants (Ms1 ms1 ms1) varied from 57% to 82%, with an average of about 71%. Chromosome numbers of progenies obtained from these fertile triploids varied from 2n=40 to 2n=71, and exhibited a near-random distribution, with the majority (about 60%) being between 56 and 65. We examined the ability of the metal-reducing bacteria Geobacter metallireducens GS-15 and Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 to reduce Pu(VI) and Pu(V). Cell suspensions of both bacteria reduced oxidized Pu [a mixture of Pu(VI) and Pu(V)] to Pu(IV). The rate of plutonium reduction was similar to the rate of U(VI) reduction obtained under similar conditions for each bacteria. The rates of Pu(VI) and U(VI) reduction by cell suspensions of S. oneidensis were slightly higher than the rates observed with G. metallireducens. The reduced form of Pu was characterized as aggregates of nanoparticulates of Pu(IV). Transmission electron microscopy images of the solids obtained from the cultures after the reduction of Pu(VI) and Pu(V) by S. oneidensis show that the Pu precipitates have a crystalline structure. The nanoparticulates of Pu(IV) were precipitated on the surface of or within the cell walls of the bacteria. The production of Pu(III) was not observed, which indicates that Pu(IV) was the stable form of reduced Pu under these experimental conditions. Experiments examining the ability of these bacteria to use Pu(VI) as a terminal electron acceptor for growth were inconclusive. A slight increase in cell density was observed for both G. metallireducens and S. oneidensis when Pu(VI) was provided as the sole electron acceptor; however, Pu(VI) concentrations decreased similarly in both the experimental and control cultures.Effective bioremediation and waste management strategies at nuclear sites require an understanding of the fundamental biogeochemical processes that control the mobility of actinides. Microorganisms can influence the chemical speciation, valence state, and distribution of actinides in subsurface environments (2, 8, 12, 14). Dissimilatory metal-reducing bacteria (DMRB), which derive energy by respiring oxidized metals (Fe and Mn in nature), may play a particularly important role in the mobility of actinides, since the oxidized forms of many radionuclides are more mobile than their reduced forms. Remedial strategies have been proposed to biomineralize radionuclides via direct reduction by DMRB or indirectly by DMRB by-products (9-11). Several DMRB have been shown to conserve energy for anaerobic growth via the reduction of U(VI) (9-11, 14).Plutonium redox chemistry is more complex than that of most other actinides. Under environmental conditions, plutonium can exist in the III, IV, V, and VI oxidation states, and multiple oxidation states can coexist simultaneously (4, 5). The oxidized species of plutonium [Pu(V) and Pu(VI)] generally are much more soluble than the reduced species (4). Predicting the influence DMRB have on plutonium biogeochemistry is complicated by the fact that both Pu(III) and Pu(IV) are possible products of biological reduction. Also, the presence of chelating ligands can greatly influence the oxidation state formed during reduction as well as the reduction rate. The reduction of oxidized Pu species to Pu(IV) is desired, because it is highly insoluble and not very mobile. However, in the presence of complexing ligands and under reducing conditions the production of Pu(III) is favored, and Pu(III) complexes can be quite soluble (2). The conditions leading to the reduction of Pu(V) and Pu(VI) need to be understood and controlled so that they do not lead to the production of Pu(III), if the biological reduction of Pu(V) or Pu(VI) is to be used as an effective remediation strategy.There is little information available concerning the influence DMRB have on plutonium biogeochemistry. Few previous studies have reported the biological reduction of Pu(IV) to Pu(III) (2, 7, 16). During the earlier experiments (16), the solubilization of PuO2 increased approximately ∼40% in solutions with DMRB. In solutions with DMRB and nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA), approximately 90% of the available Pu was solubilized, but the production of Pu(III) was not observed in any of the cultures, either with or without NTA added (16). The enhanced solubility of Pu was attributed to Pu(IV) reduction, the solubilization of resultant Pu(III), and the reoxidation of Pu(III) to Pu(IV) with the NTA complexation of Pu(III). Since Pu(III) was not observed, the biological reduction of Pu(IV) was inferred from the data (16). The biological reduction of Pu(IV) to Pu(III) was first conclusively documented with the production of Pu(III) in monocultures of G. metallireducens GS-15 and S. oneidensis MR-1 both with and without the addition of a chelating agent (EDTA) (2). In experiments without EDTA, the aqueous concentration of Pu(III) in DMRB cultures was very low (<0.05 mM Pu) (2). The aqueous concentration of Pu(III) increased to approximately 60 to 80% (0.3 to 0.4 mM Pu) of the total Pu(IV) when EDTA was added to the cultures (2). To our knowledge, there are no published studies documenting the biological reduction of Pu(V) or Pu(VI) to either Pu(IV) or Pu(III). However, based on thermodynamics calculations, the reduction of Pu(V) and Pu(VI) by DMRB should be possible and yield greater energy for the bacteria than Pu(IV) reduction (2).The study presented here was designed first to assess the ability of G. metallireducens GS-15 and S. oneidensis MR-1 to reduce Pu(V) and Pu(VI) in monocultures under cell resting and growth conditions. Second, the aqueous and solid phases produced during the experiments were analyzed to determine the extent of biological reduction [i.e., to Pu(IV) or Pu(III)].  相似文献

Capsella bursa-pastoris (L.) Medic (2n = 4x = 32) is a natural double-low (erucic acid < 1%, glucosinolates < 30 micromol/g) germplasm and shows high degree of resistance to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Hybridizations were carried out between two Brassica species viz. B. rapa (2n = 20) and B. napus (2n = 38) as female and C. bursa-pastoris as male parent to introduce these desirable traits into cultivated Brassica species. Majority of F(1) plants resembled female parents in morphology and only a few expressed some characters of male parent, including the white petals. Based on cytological observation of somatic cells, the F(1) plants were classified into five types: two types from the cross with B. rapa, type I had 2n = 27-29; type II had 2n = 20; three types from the crosses with B. napus, type III was haploids with 2n = 19; type IV had 2n = 29; type V had 2n = 38. One to two chromosomes of C. bursa-pastoris were detected in pollen mother cells (PMCs) of type I plant by genomic in situ hybridization (GISH), together with chromosomal segments in ovary cells and PMCs of some F1 plants. Amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) bands specific for the male parent, novel for two parents and absent bands in Brassica parents were generated in majority of F1 plants, even in Brassica-types and haploids, indicating the introgressions at various levels from C. bursa-pastoris and genomic alterations following hybridization. Some Brassica-type progeny plants had reduced contents of erucic acid and glucosinolates associated with improved resistance to S. sclerotiorum. The cytological and molecular mechanisms behind these results are discussed.  相似文献

4-Ethoxy-3-methoxyphenylglycerol-γ-formyl ester (compound IV) was identified as a degradation product of both 4-ethoxy-3-methoxyphenylglycerol-β-syringaldehyde ether (compound I) and 4-ethoxy-3-methoxyphenylglycerol-β-2,6-dimethoxyphenyl ether (compound II) by a ligninolytic culture of Coriolus versicolor. An isotopic experiment with a 13C-labeled compound (compound II′) indicated that the formyl group of compound IV was derived from the β-phenoxyl group of β-O-4 dimer as an aromatic ring cleavage fragment. However, compound IV was not formed from 4-ethoxy-3-methoxyphenylglycerol-β-guaiacyl ether (compound III). γ-Formyl arylglycerol (compound IV) could be a precursor of 4-ethoxy-3-methoxyphenylglycerol (compound VI), because 3-(4-ethoxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1-formyloxy propane (compound VII) was cleaved to give 3-(4-ethoxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1-propanol (compound VIII) by C. versicolor. 4-Ethoxy-3-methoxyphenylglycerol-β,γ-cyclic carbonate (compound V), previously found as a degradation product of compound III by Phanerochaete chrysosporium (T. Umezawa, and T. Higuchi, FEBS Lett., 25:123-126, 1985), was also identified from the cultures with compound I, II, and III and degraded to give the arylglycerol (compound VI). An isotopic experiment with 13C-labeled compounds II′ and III′ indicated that the carbonate carbon of compound V was derived from the β-phenoxyl groups of β-O-4 substructure.  相似文献

The oxidation of D-lactobionic acid by Cr(VI) yields the 2-ketoaldobionic acid and Cr(3+) as final products when a 20-times or higher excess of the aldobionic acid over Cr(VI) is used. The redox reaction takes place through a complex multistep mechanism, which involves the formation of intermediate Cr(IV) and Cr(V) species. Cr(IV) reacts with lactobionic acid much faster than Cr(V) and Cr(VI) do, and cannot be directly detected. However, the formation of CrO(2)(2+), observed by the first time for an acid saccharide/Cr(VI) system, provides indirect evidence for the intermediacy of Cr(IV) in the reaction path. Cr(VI) and the intermediate Cr(V) react with lactobionic acid at comparable rates, being the complete rate laws for the Cr(VI) and Cr(V) consumption expressed by: -d[Cr(VI)]/dt=[k(I)+k(II)[H(+)]][lactobionicacid][Cr(VI)], where k(I)=(4.1+/-0.1) x 10(-3) M(-1) s(-1) and k(II)=(2.1+/-0.1) x 10(-2) M(-2) s(-1); and -d[Cr(V)]/dt=[k(III)[H(+)]+(k(IV)+k(V)[H(+)])[lactobionicacid]] [Cr(V)], where k(III)=(1.8+/-0.1) x 10(-3) M(-1) s(-1), k(IV)=(1.1+/-0.1) x 10(-2) M(-1) s(-1) and k(V)=(1.0+/-0.1) x 10(-2) M(-2) s(-1), at 33 degrees C. The Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectra show that five-co-ordinate oxo-Cr(V) bischelates are formed at pH 1-5 with the aldobionic acid bound to Cr(V) through the alpha-hydroxyacid group.  相似文献

Six N-alkyl and N-aryl 5-(1,3,3-trimethylindolinyl) carbamates were synthesized and studied for their structure-activity relationships in inhibiting eel acetylcholinesterase (AChE). The carbamates were 5-(1,3,3-trimethylindolinyl)N,N-dimethylcarbamate (Cui Xing Ning) (I), 5-(1,3,3-trimethylindolinyl)N,N-diethylcarbamate (IV), 5-(1,3,3-trimethylindolinyl)N-ethylcarbamate (III), 5-(1,3,3-trimethylindolinyl)N,N-diethylcarbamate (IV), 5-(1,3,3-trimethylindolinyl)N-heptylcarbamate (V), and 5-(1,3,3-trimethylindolinyl)N-(3-chlorophenyl)carbamate (VI). The inhibition studies were carried out at 25.0 degrees C at pH 7.60. The rank order of the ki values for eel AChE inhibition is II > V > I > III > VI > IV. Compound II has a greater affinity for the enzyme than any irreversible inhibitor cited in the literature (Kd = 7.14 x 10(-8) M). Our findings should aid in the application of these carbamates (1) for counteracting the cholinergic problems associated with various diseases, and (2) for developing potential pretreatment compounds for organophosphate poisoning.  相似文献

Kinetic data for the oxidations of d-fructose and l-sorbose by chromium(VI) and vanadium(V) in perchloric acid medium are reported. The addition of perchloric acid and sodium perchlorate increases the pseudo-first-order rate constants. Change of the reaction medium from water to deuterium oxide appreciably affects the rates of chromium(VI) oxidations, but does not affect those of vanadium(V) oxidations. The activation parameters are ΔH3 = 46.6 ±3.4 (fructose) and 50.6 ±6.3 (sorbose) kJ.mol?1, and ΔS3 = ?105 ±11 (fructose) and ?100 ±20 (sorbose) J.deg?1.mol?1 for chromium(VI) oxidations, and, for the other reactions, ΔH3 = 53.2 ±4.2 (fructose) and 52.3 ±6.3 (sorbose) kJ.mol?1, and ΔS3 = ?139.0 ±14 (fructose) and ?137 ±20 (sorbose) J.deg?1.mol?1. The kinetics of the oxidations of ketohexoses by chromium(VI) indicate no intermediate-complex formation, whereas those for vanadium(V) indicate the formation of a 1:1 intermediate complex between ketohexoses and vanadium(V).  相似文献

A hybrid swarm betweenViola lutea subsp.sudetica (2n=50, native species) andViola tricolor (2n=26, introduced species) originated in the 1970’s in the Krkono?e Mts. Analyses of chromosome numbers, reproductive biology, morphology, and ecology gave the following results: (1) Compared to the plants found in the 1970’s, the number of colour morphs have decreased and the types now prevailing in the field are morphologically closer toV. lutea subsp.sudetica, forming a continuum. (2) In the field, hybrids having approximately the same chromosome number as the primary hybrids are most common. Some plants of the hybrid swarm have certain characters unknown to their parents. (3) In the field, autogamous types similar toV. tricolor were found. (4) A limited number of plants from the field and culture have higher somatic chromosome numbers thanV. lutea subsp.sudetica; there was a tendency towards increasing chromosome numbers in their progeny (up to 2n=62). These plants have some new morphological characters (a small proportion of hexacolpate pollen) not found in the parents (nor in the other hybrids with prevailing tetracolpate and pentacolpate pollen grains) and higher pollen fertility in comparison to the other hybrids. These plants also have the highest germination rate. (5) There is a tendency for chromosome numbers to decline in the progeny of open pollinated hybrid plants in the lowland experimental graden. (6) The phenology of the plants in the mountain grasslands and the lowland garden is different; the parents behave in a totally contrasting manner. (7) In the field at least some hybrids extend outside the geographical and ecological ranges of the parental species, invading new communities. (8) Seeds ofV. tricolor do not show any dormancy and germinate in the year of production; most of theV. lutea subsp.sudetica seeds germinate during the spring of the following year. Hybrids with intermediate chromosome numbers had both types of germination strategy. The germination rate of intermediates with high chromosome numbers was even higher than that ofV. tricolor.  相似文献

The properties of the isozymes of pyruvate kinase (ATP: pyruvate phosphotransferase, EC 2.7.1.40) found in unfertilized frog egg have been compared to those found in adult tissues of Rana pipiens. Chromatographic, kinetic, and electrophoretic data indicate that, of the five electrophoretic forms found in egg, the isozyme with the least anodic mobility (isozyme I) is the same molecular species as the only isozyme found in heart, and the egg isozyme with the greatest anodic mobility (isozyme V) is identical to the major isozyme found in liver.The activity of egg isozyme I was markedly inhibited by the antibody to the skeletal muscle enzyme, which has been shown previously to cross-react with the cardiac enzyme, but was unaffected by the antibody to liver isozyme V; the opposite effects were observed with egg isozyme V. The antibody to the skeletal muscle enzyme inhibited egg isozymes II > III > IV whereas the antibody to the liver enzyme gave the reverse inhibitory pattern, e.g., isozyme IV > III > II.In vitro dissociation-reassociation of mixtures of isozyme I and V led to the formation of the other three isozymes. Similar experiments performed individually with either egg isozyme III or IV resulted in the production of predominantly isozymes III, II, and I due to the instability of isozyme V during the hybridization procedure.The above results indicate that isozymes I and V are tetramers of the respective parental subunits and that isozymes II, III, and IV are hybrid molecules with subunit assignments of (I3V1), I2V2), and (I1V3), respectively.  相似文献

This study was designed to investigate the functional roles of histamine and histamine H1-receptor agonist and antagonist in the development of liver function impairment in immunized rabbits. The study comprised of six groups containing 18 rabbits each. Group III–VI received histamine (100 μg/kg, s.c.), H1R-agonist (HTMT, 10 μg/kg, s.c.), H1R-antagonist (pheniramine, 10 mg/kg, i.m.), and H1R-antagonist (pheniramine, 10 mg/kg, i.m.) plus histamine (100 μg/kg, s.c.), respectively, b.i.d. for 10 days. Group I (negative control) and group II (positive control) received sterile distilled water intramuscularly b.i.d. for 10 days. Groups II–VI were immunized on day 3 with intravenous injection of SRBC (1 × 109 cells/ml). Blood samples were collected on pre-immunization day 0, as well as on days 7-, 14-, 21-, 28-, and 58-post-immunization. Biochemical parameters AST, ALT, alkaline phosphatase and bilirubin [total bilirubin (TB), direct bilirubin (DB), and indirect bilirubin (IB)] were determined. On each experimental day, the mean values of serum enzymes and bilirubin in group I and group II showed no significant changes while in group III, IV, V, and VI, these enzymes and bilirubin levels showed significant changes (p < 0.05), when compared with their experimental values within the group. The levels of serum enzymes and bilirubin showed significant difference (p < 0.05) in group III, IV, V, and VI on each experimental day, when compared with the corresponding values of each other, and also compared with the corresponding values of group I and II. Histamine, HTMT, pheniramine, and combination of histamine + pheniramine cause hepatic function impairment in terms of altered serum enzymes and bilirubin levels. The present findings suggest that HTMT causes moderate liver function impairment while others show mild impairment.  相似文献

As a model reaction of polyamino acid formation from non-amino acid precursors, diammonium citraconate (I), ammonium citraconamate(II) and ammonium itaconamate(III) were converted to polyimide type polymers by thermal polycondensation by heating at 130–210°C. The imide type polymer was partially hydrolyzed to the corresponding peptide type polyamino acid. The polymer was composed of α-methylaspartic acid (IV), threo- and erythro-ß-methylaspartic acid (V) and α-(aminomethyl) succinic acid (VI). On the other hand, IV was thermally polycondensed to the corresponding polymer. It was found that the amino acid composition of the polymer was similar to that of the polymer prepared from I, II and III. The formation and isomerization of amino acids during the thermal polycondensation are described.  相似文献
