A facile and ecofriendly synthesis of new chromonyl chalcones 3a-b from 3-formylchromone 1 and active methyl compounds 2a-b is reported under thermal solvent-free heating condition in good yields. The chromonyl chalcones 3a-b were used as intermediates under green condition for the synthesis of new bioactive pyrazoline derivatives 4a-f. The compounds were tested for antimicrobial activity by disk diffusion assay with slight modifications against Gram-positive, Gram-negative strains of bacteria as well as fungal strains. The investigation of antimicrobial screening revealed that compounds 3a-b and 4a-f showed antibacterial and antifungal activities.  相似文献

A novel approach was adopted for the synthesis of series of new pyrazolyl chalcones (3a-c) by the reaction of 5-chloro-3-methyl-1-phenylpyrazole-4-carboxaldehyde (1) with different 5-acetylbarbituric acid derivatives (2a-c) under thermal solvent-free condition. The chalcones were then converted to the corresponding pyrazolines (4a-c) under the same condition in excellent yields. All the synthesized compounds were characterized using elemental analysis and spectral data (IR, 1H NMR, and mass spectrometry). The synthesized compounds were tested for their antimicrobial activity by disk diffusion assay with slight modifications against Gram-positive, Gram-negative strains of bacteria as well as fungal strains. The investigation of antimicrobial screening revealed that compounds (3a-4c) showed good antibacterial and antifungal activities, respectively. Among the screened compounds, 3b showed more potent inhibitory activity (MIC = 12.5 μg/ml) nearly to that of standard antibiotics ciprofloxacin, griseofulvin and fluconazole.  相似文献

Chalcone derivatives have been synthesized by reaction of 1-(2,5-dimethyl-furan-3-yl)-ethanone with corresponding active aldehyde in ethanolic NaOH in microwave oven. The structure of these compounds was established by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and EI-MS spectral analysis. The anti-bacterial activity of these compounds was first tested in vitro by the disc diffusion assay against two Gram-positive and two Gram-negative bacteria, and then the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined with the reference of standard drug chloramphenicol. The results showed that pyrazol containing chalcone (compound 8) inhibited both types of bacteria (Gram-positive and Gram-negative) better than chloramphenicol.  相似文献

A series of new antibacterial and antifungal coumarin-derived compounds and their transition metal complexes [cobalt (II), copper (II), nickel (II) and zinc (II)] have been synthesized, characterized and screened for their in vitro antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhi, Shigella dysenteriae, Bacillus cereus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes bacterial strains and for in vitro antifungal activity against Trichophyton longifusus, Candida albicans, Aspergillus flavus, Microsporum canis, Fusarium solani, Candida glaberata. The results of these studies show the metal complexes to be more antibacterial and antifungal as compared to the uncomplexed coumarins. The brine shrimp bioassay was also carried out to study their in vitro cytotoxic properties.  相似文献

Three kinds of Schiff bases of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCTS) were prepared, and their antifungal activities were assessed according to Jasso de Rodríguez's method. The results indicated that 2-(2-hydroxybenzylideneamino)-6-carboxymethylchitosan (HNCMCTS) and 2-(5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzylideneamino)-6-carboxymethylchitosan (HCCMCTS) had better inhibitory effects than those of chitosan or CMCTS against Fusarium oxysporium f. sp. vasinfectum, Alternaria solani, and Valsa mali.  相似文献

Exposure of the phenol, (5-bromo-2-hydroxyphenyl)(2,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)methanone 18 to ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) resulted in the formation of 7-bromo-3,4a-dimethoxy-2H-xanthene-2,9(4aH)-dione 19 and 5-bromo-2',5'-dimethoxy-3H-spiro[benzofuran-2,1'-cyclohexa[2,5]diene]-3,4'-dione 20. The brominated spirobenzofuran 20 was then subjected to Suzuki-Miyaura reactions to give six derivatives 22a-f. These compounds, related diones and xanthones displayed mostly noteworthy antimicrobial activity, particularly towards the yeasts Cryptococcus neoformans and Candida albicans. Diones 15 and 30 displayed significant activity (7.8 μg/mL) against C. albicans and C. neoformans, respectively. Furthermore, dione 10 displayed the most significant activity (3.6 μg/mL) against both yeasts.  相似文献

A series of N-substituted carbazole derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for antibacterial and antifungal activities against Staphylococcus aureus, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus proteus, Candida albicans and Aspergillus fumigatus by two fold serial dilution technique. Some of the synthesized compounds displayed comparable or even better antibacterial and antifungal activities than reference drugs fluconazole, chloramphenicol and norfloxacin against tested strains.  相似文献

The present paper describes the synthesis, characterization and in vitro biological evaluation screening of different classes (ammoniacates, dioximates, carboxylates, semi- and thiosemicarbazidates) of Co(II), Co(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Zn(II) and Fe(III) complexes. Schiff bases were obtained from the reaction of some salicyl aldehydes with, respectively, furoylhydrazine, benzoylhydrazine, semicarbazide, thiosemicarbazide and S-methylthiosemicarbazide to give tridentate ligands containing ONO, ONS or ONN as donor atoms. The synthetic metal complexes are of various geometrical and electronic structures, thermodynamic and thermal stabilities, and magnetic and conductance properties. All complexes, except those of Cu, are octahedral. Some Cu, Co and Mn compounds have a dimeric or a polymeric structure. The composition and structure of complexes were analysed by elemental analysis, IR and (1)H NMR and (13)C NMR spectroscopies, and magnetochemical, thermoanalytical and molar conductance measurements. All ligands and metal complexes were tested as inhibitors of human leukemia (HL-60) cells growth, and the most potent, the Cu(II) complexes, have been also tested for their in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities. Microwave irradiation of 2-hydroxy chalcones under solvent-free conditions resulted in a “green-chemistry” procedure for the preparation of flavanones in good yields, using an unmodified household microwave oven and silica as solid support. By irradiation of 2-hydroxy chalcones with trifluoroacetic acid over silica gel, 11 known flavanones were prepared in high yields. The synthesised compounds were characterised using spectroscopic techniques, namely, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and IR, and screened for their antifungal activity in vitro against Sclerotium rolfsii and Rhizoctonia solani by poisoned food technique. The compounds tested were found to be more active against R. solani, whereas against S. rolfsii, moderate activity was observed, as evident from LC50 values. The most potent compound 2-(4-fluorophenyl)-2,3-dihydrochromen-4-one (4a) had LC50 value of 12.0 mg L?1 followed by 11, 11a, 3a, 9a, 8a, 10a and 10 having LC50 values 18.21, 18.3, 32.9, 50.7, 88.8, 118.8 and 119.7 mg L?1, respectively.  相似文献

A new series of triazole compounds possessing a carbon atom in place of a sulfur atom were efficiently synthesized and their in vitro antifungal activities were investigated. The carbon analogs showed excellent in vitro activity against Candida, Cryptococcus, and Aspergillus species. The MICs of compound 1c against C. albicans ATCC24433, C. neoformans TIMM1855, and A. fumigatus ATCC26430 were 0.016, 0.016, and 0.125 microg/mL, respectively (MICs of fluconazole: 0.5, >4, and >4 microg/mL; MICs of itraconazole: 0.125, 0.25, and 0.25 microg/mL).  相似文献

Anacardic acid derivatives exhibit a broad range of biological activities. In this report, an efficient method for the synthesis of anacardic acid derivatives was explored, and a small set of salicylic acid variants synthesised retaining a constant hydrophobic element (a naphthyl tail). The naphthyl side chain was introduced via Wittig reaction and the aldehyde installed using directed ortho-metalation reaction of the substituted o-anisic acids. The failure of ortho-metalation using unprotected carboxylic acid group compelled us to use directed ortho-metalation in which a tertiary amide was used as a strong ortho-directing group. In the initial route, tertiary amide cleavage during final step was challenging, but cleaving the tertiary amide before Wittig reaction was beneficial. The Wittig reaction with protected carboxylic group (methyl ester) resulted in side-products whereas using sodium salt resulted in higher yields. The novel compounds were screened for antibacterial activity and cytotoxicity. Although substitution on the salicylic head group enhanced antibacterial activities they also enhanced cytotoxicity.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of crude ethanolic extracts and fractions of the ariel parts and the fruits of Galium tricornutum subsp. longipedunculatum, traditionally used in northern areas of Pakistan for treating microbial infections of skin. Extracts and their fractions were tested against six bacteria and six fungal strains using the hole diffusion method and macrodilution method. All extracts and fractions possessed significant antimicrobial effect. Four fungal strains, Candida albicans, Trichophyton longifusus, Fusarium.solani and Candida glabrata, showed interesting susceptibility profiles when evaluated using the extracts and fractions with MICs ranging from 0.18 to 200 mg/mL. In case of bacterial strains, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Salmonella typhi were significantly susceptible to the extracts and fractions with MICs ranging from 0.12 to 200 mg/mL. Comparative results were carried out using imepenem, miconazole and amphotericin B as standard antibiotics.  相似文献

New 3-chloro-1-hydroxy-2,6-diarylpiperidin-4-ones 18-22 were synthesized, characterized by melting point, elemental analysis, MS, FT-IR, one-dimensional NMR ((1)H & (13)C) spectroscopic data and evaluated for their in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities. All the newly synthesized compounds exerted a wide range of antibacterial activities against the entire tested gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial strains except Escherichia coli. Compounds 21 and 22 exerted strong antifungal activities against Aspergillus flavus, mucor and Microsporum gypsuem. In addition, compound 20 was more potent against Rhizopus.  相似文献

A collection of 4-(4-morpholinophenyl)-6-aryl-6H-1,3-thiazin-2-amines (20–28) were synthesized and their in vitro antimicrobial activity was investigated. Compound 21 against P. aeruginosa, 23 against B. subtilis, 24 against V. cholerae and P. aeruginosa, 26 against S. aureus and B. subtilis, 27 against B. subtilis and E. coli, and 28 against all tested bacterial strains exerted excellent antibacterial activity. Compound 20 against A. flavus and Rhizopus, 21, 26 against Rhizopus, 22, 27 against Mucor, 23 against A. flavus, 24 against both A. flavus and Mucor, 25 against all tested strains, and 28 against Rhizopus and M. gypseum exerted excellent antifungal activity.  相似文献

A series of novel galbonolide derivatives having a modified methyl enol ether moiety were prepared in total synthetic procedures and evaluated for their in vitro antifungal activities. The antifungal activity was labile to modification of the enol ether functionality and almost all of the modified compounds lacked the activity except for the analogue with an introduction of a methylthio group at the C-6 position, which retained a modest antifungal potency against Cryptococcus neoformans.  相似文献

A series of 15 previously reported N4-substituted isatin-3-thiosemicarbazones 3a-o has been screened for cytotoxic, antibacterial, antifungal and urease inhibitory activities. Compounds 3b, 3e and 3n proved to be active in cytotoxicity assay; 3e exhibited a high degree of cytotoxic activity (LD50 = 1.10 × 10? 5 M). Compound 3h exhibited significant antibacterial activity against B. subtilis, whereas compounds 3a, 3k and 3l displayed significant antifungal activity against one or more fungal strains i.e. T. longifusus, A. flavus and M. canis. In human urease enzyme inhibition assay, compounds 3g, 3k and 3m proved to be the most potent inhibitors, exhibiting relatively pronounced inhibition of the enzyme. These compounds, being non-toxic, could be potential candidates for orally effective therapeutic agents to treat certain clinical conditions induced by bacterial ureases like H. pylori urease. This study presents the first example of inhibition of urease by isatin-thiosemicarbazones and as such provides a solid basis for further research on such compounds to develop more potent inhibitors.  相似文献

Twenty-nine novel triazole analogues of ravuconazole and isavuconazole were designed and synthesized. Most of the compounds exhibited potent in vitro antifungal activities against 8 fungal isolates. Especially, compounds a10, a13, and a14 exhibited superior or comparable antifungal activity to ravuconazole against all the tested fungi. Structure-activity relationship study indicated that replacing 4-cyanophenylthioazole moiety of ravuconazole with fluorophenylisoxazole resulted in novel antifungal triazoles with more effectiveness and a broader-spectrum.  相似文献

目的评价6种抗真菌药物对皮肤癣菌体外抗真菌活性。方法采用CLSI推荐的M-38P方案对分离自足癣和体、股癣的皮肤癣菌进行联苯苄唑、硝酸舍他康唑、硝酸异康唑、盐酸布替萘芬、阿莫洛芬、利拉萘酯6种抗真菌药物敏感性测定。结果联苯苄唑MIC范围为0.03—4mg/L,MIC50为1mg/L,MIC90为2mg/L。硝酸舍他康唑分别为0.06—16mg/L、0.5mg/L和2mg/L。硝酸异康唑分别为0.03~2mg/L、0.25mg/L和0.5mg/L。盐酸布替萘芬分别为0.0025~0.04mg/L、0.01mg/L和0.02mg/L。阿莫罗芬分别为0.01~〉0.08mg/L、0.02mg/L和0.04mg/L。利拉萘酯分别为0.004—0.625mg/L、0.039mg/L和0.312mg/L。结论6种抗真菌药物对皮肤癣菌均有强的抗菌活性,由强到弱依次为布替萘芬、阿莫罗芬、利拉萘酯和咪唑类药物。  相似文献
