Ten known, viz. Criconema (Nothocriconemella) mutabile (Taylor, 1936) Raski & Luc, 1985, Neolobocriconema aberrans (Jairajpuri & Siddiqi, 1963) Andrássy, 1979, Macroposthonia sphaerocephala (Taylor, 1936) De Grisse & Loof, 1965, Nothocriconemoides basili (Jairajpuri, 1963) Loof & De Grisse, 1974, Hemicriconemoides cocophillus Loos, 1949, H. litchi Edward & Misra, 1963, H. mangiferae Siddiqi, 1961, Aulosphora indica (Siddiqi, 1961) Siddiqi, 1980, Paratylenchus obtusicaudatus Raski, 1975, and Tylenchulus semipenetrans Cobb, 1913, plus three new species of criconematids are recorded from Haryana state, India. Larvae of N. aberrans and N. basili are described for the first time. The main distinguishing features of the new species are as follows. M. paronostris n. sp.: R=117–128, R V=7–9, spear=55–62 μm, submedian lobes present, larvae with smooth annules; Criconemoides punicus n. sp.: R=75–85, R V=5–7, spear=73–81 μm, larvae with crenate annules: Hemicycliophora siddiqii n. sp.: R=185–198, R V=33–42, spear=57–59 μm, one incisure plus longitudinal lines on the cuticle. ac]19860702  相似文献

The phenotypes and gene frequencies of 3 blood groups, 7 red-cell enzymes and a serum protein were studied in 4 caste population groups of Haryana, North India. The results indicate that the distribution of these blood markers is rather homogeneous in the 4 groups and generally resembles that observed in various populations from neighbouring North Indian states.  相似文献

An attempt has been made in the present study to assess the allergenicity of dominant pollen types recorded from the atmosphere of Rohtak city. Skin prick test was performed with the antigenic extracts of 22 pollen types on 150 local patients who visited Asthma Clinic, University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. Markedly positive skin reactions (2+ and above) varied from 4.6 to 20.6 % to various pollen antigens. Cenchrus ciliaria (20.6 %), Zea mays (20 %) and Pennisetum typhoides (19.3 %) were the pollen allergens exhibiting maximum sensitivity. Antigenic extract of Cassia occidentalis, Cynodon dactylon and Ricinus communis showed marked skin reactivity in 18.6 % of patients. Prosopis juliflora, Chenopodium murale, Amaranthus spinosus, Cassia fistula and Cassia siamea showed 2+ and above reactions in 16.6, 15.3, 14.6 and 14.0 % of the local patients, respectively. Least reactivity (4.6 %) was shown to the antigenic extract of Cyperus rotundus. Out of 52 sera screened for the presence of specific IgE antibodies against different antigenic extracts, only 5.5 % showed >60 % binding. About 30 % and above binding was shown to the antigenic extracts of Z. mays, A. spinosus, R. communis and Xanthium strumarium. The concordance between positive skin reaction and serum-specific IgE antibodies ranged from 15 to 69 %.  相似文献

Cryphodera kalesari n. sp., recorded on Colebrookea oppositifolia Sm. from the Kalesar forests (Haryana), India, is described. Females: swollen, saccate, with two to three lip annules, with vulval lips protruding. Second stage juveniles: length 384±19 m, spear=26.5±1 m, tail 46.5±6 m, hyaline portion 21.5±2.5 m, en face dorsal and ventral arcs of head skeleton bifurcate. Males: not found.  相似文献

Summary Aerobiology studies of subtropical Eastern Hymalayas (Kurseong) were done for two years. A total of 32 airborne pollen types were recorded along with a few fern spores. In all 4961 pollen grains were trapped during 1981–82 and 4697 during 1982–83. The data reveals seasonal variation of pollen incidence. The incidence of tree pollen dominated over grasses and weeds. The trapped tree pollen originated fromAlnus, Betula, Engelhardtia, Quercus, Bucklandia, Acer, Salix, Ilex, Cryptomeria, Pinus, Cupressus, etc. among others, some of which are known to be allergenically significant in Kurseong. The pollen grains of weeds likeUrtica, Plantago, Cannabis, Rumex, Amaranthaceae, Chenopodiaceae etc. are also proved to be allergenically significant in Kurseong. Grass pollen grains established as highly allergenic, occurred in large amount round the year. The seasonal variation of pollen incidence was dependent mainly on variable flowering periods and climatic variations.  相似文献

A total of 100 maize and 50 poultry feed samples collected in 1998 at random from nine and eight districts of Haryana, respectively, were analysed for fumonisin B1. The samples were collected from poultry farms, feed manufacturers and markets. Ninety one (91%) maize samples and forty two (84%) poultry feed samples were found to contain fumonisin B1. Fumonisin B1 contamination in the maize samples ranged from 0.1–87.0 ppm. Whereas the poultry feed samples contained fumonisin B1 in the range of 0.02–28.0 ppm. It indicated widespread prevalence of fumonisin B1 in maize and poultry feeds in different areas of Haryana. Hypertension is an important public health problem and the major causes of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality among aged and elderly population in India. The present study is an attempt to assess age related trends of blood pressure and prevalence of hypertension in rural and urban women as well as correlation of blood pressure with obesity indicators (WC, BMI, and WHR). Data for present cross-sectional study were collected by purposive sampling method from six hundred Jat women (300 rural and 300 urban), aged 40 to 70 years. Karl Pearson's correlation coefficient (r) was employed to find the relationship between blood pressure and obesity indicators. The results revealed an age associated increase in mean values of systolic and diastolic blood pressure in rural and urban women. Urban women showed significantly higher overall mean value of systolic (mm of Hg) (133.93 vs. 130.79, p < 0.001), diastolic blood pressure (mm of Hg) (84.34 vs. 82.81, p < 0.01) and pulse rate (81.72 +/- 6.27 vs. 80.94 +/- 9.06, p > 0.05) as compared to rural women. The overall prevalence of hypertension was found to be 9% in rural and 26.66% in urban women as per JNC VII criteria. Increased prominence of hypertension among urban Jat women may be attributed to their modern lifestyle having more stress, less manual work and faulty dietary habits. There was a very low awareness of hypertension in the rural subjects (37%) than their urban (72%) counterparts. Rural and urban women revealed a positive and significant association of systolic blood pressure with body mass index, whereas only urban women displayed positive correlation of waist circumference with systolic (r = 0.183**) and diastolic (r = 0.151**) blood pressure.  相似文献

A Rhizobium–legume interaction stands out from other plant–microbe interactions as one in which a true developmental mutualism occurs. To study the genotypic diversity in native population of rhizobia-nodulating Vicia faba plants, we retrieved 64 rhizobial isolates from root nodules of faba bean grown in pots holding soils collected from arid and semi-arid regions of the state of Haryana, India. The amplification of nodC in all the isolates authenticated these as rhizobia. The nitrogen-fixing potential of the isolates was tested by the amplification of the nifH gene. Only 50 isolates out of 64 showed nifH gene amplification. The characterization of the isolates by amplified 16S rDNA restriction analysis (ARDRA) categorized these into 36 16S rDNA genotypes using a combination of MspI and HaeIII restriction enzymes. Majority of the isolates resolved into separate genotypes, indicating a wide diversity among them, which seemed to arise from their geographical origin and soil characteristics. These findings may be immensely useful in agriculture towards developing rhizobial inoculants specific for faba beans under arid and semi-arid conditions.  相似文献

An aeropalynological survey was conducted at two different sites in Rohtak city, Haryana, at a height of 1.8 m, three times a day, for two consecutive years (July 2007–June 2009). A total of 31 pollen types were identified to the lowest taxonomical level whenever possible. The major contributor to the pollen load was Cannabis sativa (28.9 %) followed by Poaceae (20.65 %), Chenopodiaceae/Amaranthaceae (10.56 %), Parthenium hysterophorus (6.80 %), Morus alba (6.15 %), Artemisia sp. (4.03 %), Cyperus sp. (3.20 %) and Eucalyptus sp. (3.07 %). Two major pollen seasons were recognized, that is, July–October and March–April, although pollen was recorded in varying concentrations all along the year. Spatial variations were also observed, with higher pollen loads at the site surrounded by dense vegetation. The study will provide preliminary but useful data to local allergologists for effective diagnosis and treatment of respiratory allergic ailments.  相似文献

This paper deals with the plant folk medicines among Nicobarese aboriginals of Katchal Island, in the Nicobar group, India. The tribals, living in complete geographical isolation, have been using folk medicines from time immemorial. Data on 65 plant species were gathered from experienced old men and women. Therapeutic applications and manner of using are initially documented and described as plant remedies in folkloric tradition and popular domestic medicine. No chemical principles are identified; no putative herbal remedies are pharmaceutically and medically evaluated. A brief account of the geography of the islands, climate, ethnology, and methodology of the present work is given. Vernacular name(s) of the plants in the Nicobarese language are incorporated for the first time in literature.  相似文献

Quantification of uranium in drinking water has great significance considering its effects on human health. Drinking water samples collected from different sources, viz., hand pumps, tube-wells, and public water supply from Sonipat and Panipat districts of Haryana, India have been analyzed for uranium and other physico-chemical parameters. Uranium concentration in water samples was measured using Pulsed LED Fluorimeter. Uranium concentration in collected water samples ranges from 9.1 to 155.1 µg/L in Sonipat district and 14.9 to 123.3 µg/L in Panipat district. It was inferred from the data that uranium concentration in some water samples was higher than WHO &; USEPA recommended limit of 30 µg/L. The mean cancer risk due to uranium in drinking water in Sonipat and Panipat districts was found to be 1.40 × 10?4 and 1.63 × 10?4, respectively, which is lower than the maximum permissible limit (<10?3). Total Dissolve Salts (TDS) in water samples of some villages in Sonipat district was higher than permissible limits for drinking prescribed by WHO &; BIS.  相似文献

The Konaje stream near Mangalore University Campus has been surveyed during 1980–1981 for the occurrence of water-borne fungi by using three methods: leaf litter observations, foam analysis and water filtration. A total of twenty species of fungi has been recorded. Three species of fungi, Lunulospora curvula, Triscelophorus monosporus and Triscelophorus sp. were found to occur throughout the year. In all three methods Lunulospora curvula occurred in highest frequency. The occurrence of different species was found to correlate with the rainfall and leaf deposition in this region and not with water temperature.  相似文献

Information on 73 species and their therapeutic applications and manner of use are initially documented and described as remedies in folkloric tradition and popular domestic medicine. The begomovirus infection in plants has been widely reported throughout the world. The chief carrier of this virus is the whitefly. All of the reports, however, concern plants that grow at a stumpy height from the ground; moreover, the whitefly transmits the begomovirus infection to plants at this low height only by residing under their leaves. To date, there has been no record of the begomovirus infection in trees as the prevalence of the whitefly at tree level is unlikely. For this reason, this study focuses on and presents the first report of airborne begomovirus infection in an ornamental tree—the Melia azedarach (or Pride of India) found on the Indian subcontinent.  相似文献

Frullania larjiana Sushil K. Singh & Singh is described as a new species from the Western Himalaya, India. The species is characterized by ovate-suborbicular leaf lobes that are truncate at their antical bases; uniformly lanceolate–explanate lobules, 0.15?0.17 × 0.0?0.09 mm with a vestigial stylus 1–2 cells long; small underleaves, 0.16?0.3 × 0.1?0.15 mm; obovate to oblong-obovate female bract lobes; triangular lanceolate bract lobules without a stylar tooth and an obovoid, smoothly 5-keeled, shortly beaked perianth.  相似文献
