3-Acetyl deoxynivalenol (3-ADON) and esterase production were determined in a strain ofFusarium culmorum insensitive to the fungicide, difenoconazole. Following further exposure to this fungicide for different periods of time, the initiation of 3-ADON production was observed to be accelerated in the insensitive strain compared to a control (sensitive) strain of the phytopathogen. In particular, 3-ADON appeared in insensitive cultures within 21 days of incubation with fungicide levels of 1 to 4 μg/ml media and at 43 days with difenoconazole levels of 6 and 10 μg/ml. However, in the control strain, 3-ADON production was delayed until 28 and 57 days for the respective doses of fungicide. For these times and fungicide levels, the overall production of 3-ADON by the insensitive strain was significantly different from the zero values recorded with the control strain (P<0.05). Moreover, although difenoconazole was generally effective in depressing 3-ADON synthesis in both strains, the suppression was not significant (P>0.05) for the insensitive strain at 43 and 57 days of incubation with fungicide added at 1 μg/ml. In a parallel experiment, total esterase production was observed to increase progressively over time and at consistently higher levels for the insensitive strain from day 14 onwards so that by day 35 the strain difference was significant (P<0.05). Although the increase with time occurred in both strains, this enhancement appeared at 14 days in the insensitive strain (P<0.05) but delayed until 21 days in the control strain (P<0.05). In conclusion, these investigations have demonstrated the persistence of 3-ADON production and enhanced levels of total esterases in a strain ofF. culmorum insensitive to difenoconazole. Furthermore, it is proposed that changes in esterase profiles might be of diagnostic value in identifying toxigenic strains of differentFusarium species.  相似文献

A total of 120 freshly harvested wheat samples from the 2004 season in nine locations from Northern Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, were analysed for trichothecene natural occurrence and associated mycoflora, and for determining the influence of commonly used fungicide field treatment and the cultivar type on trichothecene contamination. The trichothecenes T-2 tetraol, T-2 triol, HT-2 and T-2 toxin (HT-2, T-2), diacetoxyscirpenol (DAS), nivalenol (NIV), deoxynivalenol (DON), 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol (3-ADON) and 15-acetyldeoxynivalenol (15-ADON) were analysed by gas chromatography and electron capture detection. Detection limits ranged from 4 to 20 μg/kg. The isolation frequencies of species were calculated. Alternaria alternata, Fusarium graminearum, Fusarium poae and Fusarium semitectum were the predominant fungal species identified as endogenous mycoflora. The type of cultivar and the fungicide field treatment did not affect significantly the trichothecene contamination. The trichothecenes type A detected were HT-2 and T-2 triol toxins and the type B were DON, NIV and 3-ADON. Based on 120 samples the incidences were 21.7% for 3-ADON, 22.5% for HT-2, 27.5% for T-2 triol and 85% for DON. NIV was confirmed in one sample. Mean levels of trichothecene positive samples were between 7 and 2788 μg/kg.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to evaluate the fumonisin production by 16 F. verticillioides strains on corn cultures and the effect of quintozene and fludioxonil + metalaxyl-M fungicides on “in vitro” mycelial growth on agar. In addition, the effect of fludioxonil + metalaxyl-M on fumonisin production in defined liquid culture medium was analyzed. Fumonisin B1 levels on corn cultures ranged from 2.41 to 3996.36 μg/g and the F. verticillioides 103F strain produced the highest level (3996.36 ± 390.49 μg/g, P < 0.05). F. verticillioides strains were inoculated in potato dextrose agar with the addition of quintozene (75 to 9,375 μg/ml) and fludioxonil + metalaxyl-M (1.5 + 0.6 to 187.5 + 75 μg/ml) in order to evaluate the effect of these fungicides on “in vitro” mycelial growth. The F. verticillioides strains showed great variability concerning ED50 values, which were below the recommended application dose for quintozene, but above that for fludioxonil + metalaxyl-M. Moreover, fungicide addition to the culture medium increased mean FB1 levels compared to the control, suggesting the importance of focusing on the effect of fungicides on mycotoxin production as well as on the phytopathogen control.  相似文献

Mycelial yield and production of three trichothecenes, namely T-2 toxin, diacetoxyscirpenol (DAS) and neosolaniol (NEO) were compared in control (CS) and carbendazim-resistant strains (RS) ofFusarium sporotrichioides. Each strain was exposed to graded concentrations of carbendazim (0, 1, 2, and 4 μg/ml media) for 2, 5 and 7 days under shake-culture conditions at an incubation temperature of 25°C. Mycelial yield was significantly (P<0.001) affected by strain, carbendazim concentration and incubation time. The strain differences in mycelial mass at 2 days (P<0.05) became more pronounced at 5 and 7 days of incubation (P<0.001). However, mycelial growth differences between the two strains were greatest following exposure to carbendazim, with the effects becoming more divergent with time. Combined results for the three incubation times showed dose related effects in carbendazim inhibition of T-2 toxin production by CS isolates. In contrast, RS cultures exposed to the 2 μg/ml addition of carbendazim significantly increased T-2 toxin production (P<0.05 or better). At 1 and 4 μg/ml additions, T-2 toxin inhibition occurred but the effect was less marked than in the CS series. RS yielded more DAS than CS at 5 days (P<0.05) and at 7 days (P<0.01) of incubation. The major component of this strain difference arose from the effects of the 2 μg/ml addition of carbendazim (P<0.01). NEO production was also higher in RS than in CS, with the difference becoming progressively more pronounced from day 5 (P<0.05) to day 7 (P<0.01) of incubation. However, these differences reflected enhanced NEO output with carbendazim addition of 4 μg/ml (P<0.05) in day 5 extracts and of both 2 μg/ml (P<0.01) and 4 μg/ml additions (P<0.05) in day 7 samples. Moreover, the ratio of NEO to T-2 toxin production was affected by an interaction involving incubation time, strain and carbendazim dose (P<0.05 or better). On day 5, this ratio was greater in CS exposed to 2 μg/ml, but at 4 μg/ml, the ratio was higher in RS. It is concluded that carbendazim resistance induced genuine differences in the synthesis of T-2 toxin and NEO. It is suggested that the strain difference may reside in the conversion of NEO to T-2 toxin which may be sensitive to fungicide concentration. This would imply that carbendazim resistance induces changes in the terminal rather than initial phases of trichothecene biosynthesis.  相似文献

The protein-bound polysaccharides of Coriolus versicolor (CPS) have been reported to stimulate overall immune functions against cancers and various infectious diseases by activating specific cell functions. A New Zealand isolate (Wr-74) and a patented strain (ATCC-20545) of C. versicolor were compared in this study. The fruit bodies of both strains were grown for visual verification. Both strains were grown in submerged-culture using an airlift fermentor with milk permeate as the base medium supplemented with glucose, yeast extract and salt. Metabolic profiles of both strains obtained over 7-day fermentation showed very similar trends in terms of biomass production (8.9–10.6 mg/ml), amounts of extracellular polysaccharide (EPS) from the culture medium (1150–1132 μg/ml), and intracellular polysaccharide (IPS) from the mycelium (80–100 μg/ml). Glucose was the dominant sugar in both EPS and IPS, and the polymers each consisted of three molecular weight fractions ranging from 2 × 106 to 3 × 103 Da. Both the EPS and IPS were able to significantly induce cytokine production (interleukin 12 and γ interferon) in murine splenocytes in vitro. Highest levels of interleukin 12 (291 pg/ml) and γ interferon (6,159 pg/ml) were obtained from samples containing Wr-74 IPS (0.06 μg/ml) and ATCC 20545 IPS (0.1 μg/ml), respectively. The results indicated that lower levels of EPS and IPS generally resulted in higher immune responses than did higher polymer concentrations.  相似文献

Benomyl-resistant (BR) and wild-type (WT) strains of Fusarium lateritium were examined for their tolerance to benomyl on potato dextrose agar (PDA) containing benomyl and control of the Eutypa lata in grapevine bioassays. The WT strain grew on PDA containing 1 μg/ml benomyl at 13, 26 and 29°C. The BR strain grew on PDA containing 10 μg/ml benomyl at 4°C, on PDA containing 100 μg/ml benomyl at 29°C, and on PDA containing 1000 μg/ml benomyl at 13 and 26°C. The BR strain was also able to colonize grapevine segments and control E. lata in the presence of 1000 μg/ml benomyl. Both strains were amenable to production via liquid fermentation and both achieved 100% control of E. lata in grapevine bioassays. Neither the duration of fermentation nor incubation temperature during grapevine bioassays influenced the efficacy of either strain against E. lata. The results suggest that application of BR F. lateritium alone or in combination with benomyl may provide good control of E. lata. Antimicrobial susceptibility of 25 Helicobacter pylori strains isolated from patients with acid peptic diseases were tested for in vitro sensitivity to commonly used antibiotics using disk-diffusion and E-test, methods. All strains tested were susceptible to tetracycline by E-test, with the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values being <0.125 μg/ml for all strains except for 6 (<0.023 μg/ml). However 1 strain was resistant by disk-diffusion method. One strain was resistant to clarithromycin both by disk diffusion and E-test (MIC <48 μg/ml), and 1 strain was resistant only by disk diffusion. Only one strain was resistant to amoxicillin by disk diffusion and E-test (MIC >256 μg/ml). For ciprofloxacin, three strains were resistant by disk diffusion and two by E-test (MIC <32 μg/ml). Sixteen strains were resistant to metronidazole by disk diffusion and E-test (MIC ≥ 8 μg/ml), and 1 was resistant only by E-test (MIC <48 μg/ml). Overall, 64% of the strains were resistant to metronidazole. The MIC for metronidazole was also tested by agar-dilution method, and metronidazole resistant strains had an, MIC >8 μg/ml. The disk-diffusion method showed excellent correlation with E-test results; there was 100% agreement for amoxicillin a other antibiotics showed 90% to 95% accuracy. Disk diffusion is cheaper than E-test (approximately 2.6 cents vs. US$2.60), is easy to perform, and is a reliable method for testing H. pylori susceptibility to antimicrobial agents in the clinical microbiology laboratory.  相似文献

The in vitro influence of three prebiotics viz. mannitol, maltodextrin and sorbitol was evaluated on probiotic aspects like bile salt tolerance, cholesterol lowering efficiency and bacteriocin production of the strain, Pediococcus acidilactici LAB 5 which was isolated from vacuum packed fermented meat product. Optimum temperature for bacteriocin production in MRS medium was 37°C. The strain deconjugated bile salt (sodium taurocholate) to 607.66 ± 10.894 μg/ml from initial bile salt concentration 3 mg/ml. In vitro cholesterol removal capability of the strain P. acidilactici LAB 5 was 62 ± 2.742 μg/ml. Prebiotic sorbitol had a positive influence on the probiotic parameters like better cell growth, bacteriocin production and cholesterol removal capability. Anaerobic condition had influenced largely on bile salt deconjugation, cholesterol removal and bacteriocin production. Synbiotic treatment of P. acidilactici LAB 5 with sorbitol for 1 month lowered the plasma cholesterol level to 176.34 ± 12.66 μg/ml in comparison to untreated one (208.76 ± 20.27 μg/ml) in Swiss albino mice. Intestinal adherence of P. acidilactici LAB 5 was also more in synbiotic condition than only in probiotic and control treatments.  相似文献

A total of 220 samples comprising cereals, cereal byproducts, corn plants and corn silage as well as non-grain based feedstuffs was randomly collected during 2000 and 2001 from sources located in Germany and analysed for 16 Fusarium toxins. The trichothecenes scirpentriol (SCIRP), 15-monoacetoxyscirpenol (MAS), diacetoxyscirpenol (DAS), T-2 tetraol, T-2 triol, HT-2 and T-2 toxin (HT-2, T-2), neosolaniol (NEO), deoxynivalenol (DON), 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol (3-ADON), 15-acetyldeoxynivealenol (15-ADON), nivalenol (NIV) and fusarenon-X (FUS-X) were determined by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Zearalenone (ZEA) and α- and β-zearalenol (α- and β-ZOL) were analysed by high performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence and UV-detection. Detection limits ranged between 1 and 19 μg/kg. Out of 125 samples of a group consisting of wheat, oats, corn, corn byproducts, corn plants and corn silage only two wheat samples did not contain any of the toxins analysed. Based on 125 samples the incidences were at 2–11% for DAS, NEO, T-2 Triol, FUS-X, α- and β-ZOL, at 20–22% for SCIRP, MAS, T-2 tetraol and 3-ADON, at 44–74% for HT-2, T-2, 15-ADON, NIV and ZEA, and at 94% for DON. Mean levels of positive samples were between 6 and 758 μg/kg. Out of 95 samples of a group consisting of hay, lupines, peas, soya meal, rapeseed meal and other oilseed meals, 64 samples were toxin negative. DAS, T-2 triol, NEO and FUS-X were not detected in any sample. The incidences of DON and ZEA were at 14 and 23% respectively, those of the other toxins between 1–4%, mean levels of positive samples were between 5 and 95 μg/kg.  相似文献

A pentachlorophenol(PCP)-degrading Pseudomonas sp. strain UG30 was encapsulated in κ-carrageenan for use in PCP degradation. Free and encapsulated cells were compared for their ability to dechlorinate and mineralize 100–800 μg/ml sodium pentachlorophenate in broth. Dechlorination was measured with a chloride ion electrode, and mineralization was measured by 14CO2 evolution from radiolabelled [U-14C]PCP. Free and encapsulated Pseudomonas sp. UG30 cells mineralized up to 200 μg/ml and 600 μg/ml PCP, respectively, after 21 days. Encapsulation of UG30 cells provided a protective effect, allowing dechlorination and mineralization of high levels of PCP to occur. A putative multidrug efflux pump, EmrD-3, belonging to the major facilitator superfamily (MFS) of transporters and sharing homology with the Bcr/CflA subfamily, was identified in Vibrio cholerae O395. We cloned the emrD-3 gene and evaluated its role in antimicrobial efflux in a hypersensitive Escherichia coli strain. The efflux activity of this membrane protein resulted in lowering the intracellular concentration of ethidium. The recombinant plasmid carrying emrD-3 conferred enhanced resistance to several antimicrobials. Among the antimicrobials tested, the highest relative increase in minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 102-fold was observed for linezolid (MIC = 256 μg/ml), followed by an 80.1-fold increase for tetraphenylphosphonium chloride (TPCL) (156.2 μg/ml), 62.5-fold for rifampin (MIC = 50 μg/ml), >30-fold for erythromycin (MIC = 50 μg/ml) and minocycline (MIC = 2 μg/ml), 20-fold for trimethoprim (MIC = 0.12 μg/ml), and 18.7-fold for chloramphenicol (MIC = 18.7 μg/ml). Among the fluorescent DNA-binding dyes, the highest relative increase in MIC of 41.7-fold was observed for ethidium bromide (125 μg/ml) followed by a 17.2-fold increase for rhodamine 6G (100 μg/ml). Thus, we demonstrate that EmrD-3 is a multidrug efflux pump of V. cholerae, the homologues of which are present in several Vibrio spp., some members of Enterobacteriaceae family, and Gram-positive Bacillus spp.  相似文献

The effect of the fungicide, chlorothalonil, on vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal (VAM) symbiosis was studied in a greenhouse using Leucaena leucocephala as test plant. Chlorothalonil was applied to soil at 0, 50, 100 and 200 μg g−1. The initial soil solution P levels were 0.003 μg mL−1 (sub-optimal) and 0.026 μg mL−1 (optimal). After 4 weeks, the sub-optimal P level was raised to 0.6 μg mL−1 (high). The soil was either uninoculated or inoculated with the VAM fungus, Glomus aggregatum. The fungicide reduced mycorrhizal colonization of roots, development of mycorrhizal effectiveness, shoot P concentration and uptake and dry matter yields at all concentrations tested, although the highest inhibitory effect was noted as the concentration of the fungicide was increased from 50 to 100 μg g−1. Phosphorus applied after four weeks tended to partially offset the deleterious effects of chlorothalonil in plants grown in the inoculated and uninoculated soil which suggests that the fungicide was interfering with plant P uptake. The results suggest that the use of chlorothalonil should be restricted to levels below 50 μg g−1 if the benefits of mycorrhizal symbiosis are to be expected. The edeines analogs were tested in several in vitro and in vivo assays using the mouse model, with edeine B (peptide W1) and cyclosporine A as reference compounds. The peptides displayed moderate, stimulatory effects on concanavalin A-induced (ConA-induced) splenocyte proliferation, whereas their effects on pokeweed mitogen-induced (PWM-induced) splenocyte proliferation were inhibitory. The peptides inhibited lipopolysacharide-induced (LPS-induced) tumor necrosis factor alpha production but had little effect on interleukin 6 production. In the model of the humoral immune response in vitro to sheep red blood cells, peptide 1 was distinctly stimulatory in the investigated concentrations (1-100 μg/ml), whereas peptides 3 and 4 only stimulated the number of antibody-forming cells at the highest concentration (100 μg/ml). In the model of the delayed type hypersensitivity in vivo to ovalbumin, the peptides were moderately suppressive (3 being the most active). The reference peptide W1 stimulated ConA-induced cell proliferation at 1–10 μg/ml but was inhibitory at 100 μg/ml. It also inhibited PWM-induced cell proliferation in a dose-dependent manner. This peptide had no effect on the humoral immune response in vitro or on cytokine production, but inhibited DTH reaction in vivo. The relationship between structure and activity, and a possible mode of action of the peptides, is discussed in this paper.  相似文献

Summary Somatic proembryos of mango (Mangifera indica L. cv. Hindi) were co-cultivated withAgrobacterium tumefaciens strain A208 harboring pTiT37-Se::pMON 9749 (9749 ASE). Transformed somatic proembryos capable of growing on selection medium containing 200 μg/ml kanamycin produced the characteristic indigo blue precipitate in the presence of 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-glucuronic acid. These proembryos were chimeral consisting of transformed (blue) and nontransformed (yellow/white) cells. A stepwise selection strategy was found necessary to eliminate chimeras. a) Initial screening at 200 μg/ml kanamycin to enable growth of transformed cells, b) further screening at 400 μg/ml kanamycin to reduce chimeras, and c) recovery of pure transformed clones of proembryos in liquid selection medium with 100 μg/ml kanamycin. The integration of the NPT II and GUS genes into mango genome was confirmed by Southern hybridization.  相似文献

The root nodules of Phaseolus mungo (L.), a herbaceous leguminous pulse, contain high amounts of ascorbic acid (AsA). A glucose pool present in the nodule might serve as precursor for AsA production. From root nodule, a Rhizobium sp. was isolated. The symbiont produced a large amount of AsA (290.5 μg/ml) from glucose-supplemented basal medium. The production of AsA by the symbiont was much greater than that of the control when the glucose (0.5%)-supplemented mineral medium was enriched with thiamine hydrochloride (20 μg/100 ml), biotin (20 μg/100 ml), and L-asparagine (0.2%). The possible role of the rhizobial production of AsA on rhizobia–legume symbiosis is discussed.  相似文献

Fusarium graminearum Schwabe is the primary cause of Fusarium head blight (FHB) in North America. Chemically distinct F. graminearum sub-populations can be identified based on the type or composition of deoxynivalenol (DON) mycotoxin derivatives, including 3-acetyl (3-ADON) and 15-acetyl (15-ADON). The evaluation of randomly selected 3-ADON and 15-ADON isolates, collected from spring wheat throughout Canada, was performed using thin layer chromatography (TLC), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ice-nucleation activity (INA), and heat and cold tolerance tests conducted within a temperature range of −70°C to 65°C. The results indicated that the 3-ADON sub-population, which is responsible for the highest disease severity and has rapidly displaced the 15-ADON sub-population, produces more DON and zearalenone (ZEA) than the 15-ADON sub-population when exposed to heat and cold. Following exposures (1 and 2 h) to extremely high or low temperatures, 3-ADON isolates exhibited faster mycelial growth than 15-ADON isolates. In addition, the warmest temperature at which INA activity occurred was in 3-ADON (−3.6°C) vs. 15-ADON (−5.1°C). Taken together, these features suggest that the newly emerging 3-ADON sub-population is more resilient than the resident 15-ADON sub-population. Overall, the differences between the two sub-populations could provide new insights into FHB epidemiology and if validated under field conditions, may provide important information for predicting future FHB epidemics.  相似文献

Application of sodium-dikegulac reduced plant height with associated increase in branch and leaf number and root biomass inC. roseus (L.) G. DON. Chlorophyll content reduced significantly after first month of 100 and 250 μg/ml DK application. However, such reduction was replaced by significant rise after forth month in 250 μg/ml DK application and fifth month in 100 μg/ml DK application followed by appreciable decline only in 250 μg/ml DK treatment but 100 μg/ml DK maintained higher level till harvest. Total sugar content was significantly high during forth and fifth month stage of growth after DK application. Amino acid content was higher during third to fifth month in 100 μg/ml DK treatment and during third to forth month in 250 μg/ml DK treatment. Tryptophan, on the other hand showed higher content at the fifth month stage of growth after application of DK in both the concentrations. Leaf and root dry weight as well as total alkaloid content were highest in 100 μg/ml DK application. DK, therefore, appears to be a potential chemical for increasing biomass and alkaloid content inC. roseus.  相似文献

A marine Pseudomonas species WAK-1 strain simultaneously produces extracellular glycosaminoglycan and sulfated polysaccharide. Among the antiviral activities tested for these polysaccharides, the latter showed anti-HSV-1 activity in RPMI 8226 cells (50% effective concentration is 1.4 μg/ml). Oversulfated derivatives of these polysaccharides prepared by dicyclohexylcarbodiimide-mediated reaction for both polysaccharides showed antiviral activities against influenza virus type A (for glycosaminoglycan, 50% effective concentration is 11.0 μg/ml; for another, 2.9 μg/ml). Glycosaminoglycan, sulfated polysaccharide, and their chemically synthesized oversulfated derivatives did not show antiviral activities against influenza virus type B and human immunodeficiency virus type 1. No cytotoxicity of these products was noted against host cells at the 50% cytotoxic concentration of 100 μg/ml, except that naturally occurring sulfated polysaccharide had 50% cytotoxicity against MT-4 cells at 8–21 μg/ml. The goal of this study was to identify lentil-specific rhizobial strains with the ability to tolerate fungicide and synthesize plant growth regulators even in soils contaminated with fungicides. A fungicide-tolerant and plant-growth-promoting rhizobial strain was used to assess its impact on lentil grown in fungicide-treated soils. The tebuconazole-tolerant Rhizobium sp. strain MRL3 produced plant-growth-promoting substances when grown in the presence and the absence of tebuconazole. Tebuconazole at the recommended and two and three times the recommended doses decreased consistently the dry biomass, symbiotic properties, nutrient uptake, and seed yields of lentil plants. In contrast, the fungicide-tolerant strain MRL3 significantly increased the measured parameters when lentil was grown in soils treated with varying concentrations of tebuconazole compared to uninoculated plants. As an example, strain MRL3 with 100 μg tebuconazole/kg soil significantly increased the root nitrogen, shoot nitrogen, root phosphorus, shoot phosphorus, and seed yield by 31, 10, 41, 21, and 117%, respectively, compared to the uninoculated plants grown in soil treated solely with 100 μg tebuconazole/kg soil. In conclusion, the Rhizobium strain MRL3 may be applied as biofertilizer to enhance the performance of lentil plants in fungicide-applied soils.  相似文献

In the present work, we showed that a chalcone-enriched fraction (CEF) isolated from the stem bark of a Brazilian medicinal plant, Myracrodruon urundeuva, presents neuroprotective actions on 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA)-induced neuronal cell death, in rat mesencephalic cells. In the MTT [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium] assay, which is an index of cell viability, CEF (1–100 μg/ml) reversed in a concentration-dependent manner the 6-OHDA-induced cell death. While cells exposed to 6-OHDA (40 μM) showed an increased concentration of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), the pretreatment with CEF (10–100 μg/ml) significantly decreased the 6-OHDA-induced TBARS formation, indicative of a neuroprotection against lipoperoxidation. Furthermore, the drastic increase of nitrite levels induced by 6-OHDA, indicative of nitric oxide formation and free radicals production, was prevented by CEF. Double staining with acridine orange/ethidium bromide showed that cultures exposed to 6-OHDA (40 and 200 μM) presented an increase of apoptotic and necrotic cell numbers in a concentration-dependent manner. CEF (100 μg/ml) protected cells from apoptosis and necrosis and increased number of cells presenting a normal morphology. The immunohistochemical analysis for tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) positive neurons indicated that 6-OHDA (40 and 200 μM) caused a concentration-dependent loss of TH+ and TH− neurons. CEF protected both cells types from 6-OHDA-induced cell death. All together, our results demonstrated neuroprotective effects of chalcones, which are able to reduce oxidative stress and apoptotic injury caused by 6-OHDA. Our findings suggest that chalcones could provide benefits, along with other therapies, in neurodegenerative injuries, such as Parkinson’s disease.  相似文献
