A new species, Betula erkovetskiensis Blokhina et O.V. Bondarenko (Betulaceae), from the deposits of the Sazanka Formation (upper Middle?Upper Miocene) of the Erkovetskii Brown Coal Field (Amur Region, Russia) is described based on anatomical features of fossil wood. The new species shows some wood anatomical characters of the extant birch subgenus Betula, B. davurica, B. nigra (section Dahuricae), and B. papyrifera (section Betula). Fossil wood of Betula is found in the Amur Region for the first time.  相似文献

Investigation during the period of 3 years from 2007 to 2010 on the malacofauna of Chilika lake revealed the occurrence of 126 molluscan taxa belonging to 56 families, 18 orders of three classes in the bottom sediment. Of these 61 species belonged to Bivalvia, 64 species belonged to Gastropoda and one species belonged to Polyplacophora. Maximum Bivalvia and Gastropoda taxa were found in the outer channel region of the lake. The dominating species were Crassostrea cuttackensis, Saccostrea cucullata, Brachidontes undulatus, Meretrix meretrix among bivalves and Cerethideopsilla cingulata, Bullia vittata, Nassarious stolatus, Indothias lacera, Natica tigrina, Turritella attenuata were from the gastropods. Occurrence of a large number of marine taxa is most probably associated with the opening of new lagoon during 1st August 2008.  相似文献

The species composition of Chironomus in the Curonian Lagoon has been investigated. It was shown that three sibling species of the plumosus group, namely, Ch. plumosus, Ch. balatonicus, and Ch. muratensis, and a first-generation interspecific hybrid Ch. muratensis × Ch. plumosus lived here. The occurrence frequency in the lagoon was 87, 19, 6, and 3% for Ch. plumosus, Ch. balatonicus, Ch. muratensis × Ch. plumosus, and Ch. muratensis, respectively. The species Ch. plumosus was recorded in all the areas (southern, central, and northern), while Ch. balatonicus was found only in the northern area in the village of Juodkrante near the city of Klaipeda. Presumably, the distribution of these sibling species is due to the presence of a salinity gradient in the lagoon.  相似文献

The Kellwasser Crisis represents one of the most severe extinction events in the Phanerozoic. The ?umbera section (Moravo-Silesian Basin, Moravian Karst) spans the Upper rhenana to Palmatolepis minuta minuta (or younger) conodont zones and corresponds to the upper part of a carbonate ramp with material derived from shallower areas. A rich association of calcareous algae, cyanobacteria, and microproblematica, comprising renalcids (Izhella), Girvanella, Rectangulina cf. tortuosa, Rothpletzella, “solenoporaceans”, “Keega”-like microfossils, udoteacean alga Paralitanaia, volvocean and radiospherid calcispheres, palaeoberesellids, Umbellina bella, and Wetheredella, is similar in diversity to associations known from China, Australia, Canada, and Belgium. The ?umbera section represents a unique locality where changes in shallow-water biota at the Frasnian-Famennian boundary are well calibrated by detailed conodont biostratigraphy. We track in detail the evolution of shallow-water biota and the features that are often discussed in the context of “anachronistic” facies, such as flourishing microbial structures, enhanced early marine cementation, and flat-pebble conglomerates. Some features which could be indicative of environmental stress such as flat-pebble conglomerates developed during the Frasnian part of the Kellwasser Crisis (Upper rhenana to linguiformis Zones), whereas a renalcid boom started at the Frasnian-Famennian boundary.  相似文献

A 50-m-thick section in the Po?áry quarry, Prague Syncline (Czech Republic) spanning the upper Silurian (uppermost Ludlow and P?ídolí) to the lowermost Devonian (Lochkovian) has been studied using sedimentological and physical stratigraphical (gamma-ray spectrometry) methods combined with conodont biostratigraphy. Conodont data demonstrate the presence of local conodont biozones: “Ozarkodina” crispa (uppermost Ludlow)—Zieglerodina zellmeri (base of P?ídolí)—Zieglerodina ivochlupaciDelotaxis detorta—“Ozarkodina” eosteinhornensis s.s.—Zieglerodina klonkensisIcriodus hesperius-optima (lowermost Lochkovian). The studied section represents a transgressive–regressive facies succession characterized by a transition from distal calciturbidites deposited in a distally steepened carbonate platform during transgression and sea-level highstand (crispa to lower ivochlupaci zones) to mixed calciturbidites/coarse-grained bioclastic limestones (falling-stage systems tract, upper ivochlupaci to lower klonkensis zones). The upper part of the succession consists of bioclastic limestones corresponding to a subtidal setting between storm-wave and fair-weather wave base (lowstand systems tract in upper klonkensis and hesperius-optima zones). This interpretation corresponds to the late Silurian global sea-level pattern as recorded in other regions. Thus the depositional system is interpreted as mostly driven by eustasy with short-lived periods of influence from local tectonics.  相似文献

The Lower Jurassic (upper Sinemurian) of the Hronicum domain (Tatra Mts., Western Carpathians, Poland) represents typical tropical shallow-water carbonates of the Bahamian-type. Eight microfacies recognized include oolitic-peloidal grainstone/packstone, peloidal-bioclastic grainstone, peloidal-lithoclastic-bioclastic-cortoidal grainstone/packstone, peloidal-bioclastic packstone/grainstone, peloidal-bioclastic wackestone, spiculitic wackestone, recrystallized peloidal-oolitic grainstone and subordinate dolosparites. The studied sediments were deposited on a shallow-water carbonate platform characterized by normal salinity, in high-energy oolite shoals, bars, back-margin, protected shallow lagoon and subordinately on restricted tidal flat. Some of them contain the microcoprolite Parafavreina, green alga Palaeodasycladus cf. mediterraneous (Pia) and Cayeuxia, typical of the Early Jurassic carbonate platforms of the Western Tethys. The spiculite wackestone from the upper part of the studied succession was deposited in a transitional to deeper-water setting. The studied upper Sinemurian carbonates of the Hronicum domain reveal microfacies similar to the other Bahamian-type platform carbonates of the Mediterranean region. Thereby, they record the northern range of the Lower Jurassic tropical shallow-water carbonates in the western part of the Tethys, albeit the thickness of the Bahamian-type carbonate successions generally decrease in a northerly direction. The sedimentation of the Bahamian-type deposits in the Hronicum domain, located during the Early Jurassic at about 28°N, besides other specific factors (i.e., light, salinity, and nutrients) was strongly controlled by the paleocirculation of warm ocean currents in the Western Tethys.  相似文献

Massive parallel sequencing (the Roche 454 platform) of the 16S rRNA gene fragments was used to investigate microbial diversity in the sediments of the Posolsk Bank cold methane seep. Bacterial communities from all sediment horizons were found to contain members of the phyla Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Deinococcus-Thermus, Firmicutes, Nitrospirae, Chloroflexi, Proteobacteria, and the candidate phyla Aminicenantes (OP8) and Atribacteria (OP9). Among Bacteria, members of the Chloroflexi and Proteobacteria were the most numerous (42 and 46%, respectively). Among archaea, the Thaumarchaeota predominated in the upper sediment layer (40.1%), while Bathyarchaeota (54.2%) and Euryarchaeota (95%) were predominant at 70 and 140 cm, respectively. Specific migration pathways of fluid flows circulating in the zone of gas hydrate stability (400 m) may be responsible for considerable numbers of the sequences of Chloroflexi, Acidobacteria, and the candidate phyla Aminicenantes and Atribacteria in the upper sediment layers and of the Deinococcus-Thermus phylum in deep bottom sediments.  相似文献

New species of the pine fossil wood, Pinus priamurensis sp. nov. (Pinaceae) from the Sazanka Formation (upper Middle Miocene–Upper Miocene) of the Erkovetskii Brown Coal Field (Amur Region) is described. The new species shares some wood anatomical features with modern species of the subsection Pinus (section Pinus, subgenus Pinus). Cortinarius coalescens Kärcher & Seibt is a rare European species of the subgenus Phlegmacium, section Phlegmacioides, neglected in recent molecular studies. New primers (CortF and CortR) designed for species in the section Phlegmacioides allowed to obtain ITS rDNA sequence data from the holotype collection of C. coalescens; according to the results, this epithet has priority over C. crassorum Rob. Henry ex Rob. Henry, C. pardinus Reumaux, and C. parargutus Bidaud, Moënne-Locc. & Reumaux. Morphological and ecological observations on recent collections of C. coalescens from the Czech Republic in comparison with the co-occurring C. largus are discussed. Nomenclatural and taxonomic comments on C. tomentosus Rob. Henry, C. balteatotomentosus Rob. Henry, and C. subtomentosus Reumaux are also provided. So far, C. coalescens is known with certainty from Germany, France, and the Czech Republic, where it grows in deciduous forests on acid to neutral soils. Arsenic and its compounds were determined in C. coalescens and related species of the section Phlegmacioides: C. largus, C. pseudodaulnoyae, and C. variecolor. Total arsenic concentrations were in the range 3.6–30.2 mg kg?1 (dry matter) and arsenobetaine was the major arsenic compound.  相似文献

A total of ten taxa belonging to the class Ostracoda of the Crustacea (Darwinula stevensoni, Candona neglecta, Cypria ophthalmica, Ilyocypris bradyi, Prionocypris zenkeri, Herpetocypris chevreuxi, Psychrodromus olivaceus, Heterocypris incongruens, Scottia pseudobrowniana, Eucypris sp.) were collected from two rheocrene Darwinula stevensoni springs (Çetin Bey and Çaygökp?nar springs) on 15 separate occasions between November 2002 and November 2004. Almost all of the species identified exhibit cosmopolitan distributions – at least in the Holarctic region. The presence of Scottia pseudobrowniana represents the second recording of this species in the ostracod fauna of Turkey. The dominant taxa in both springs was Cy. ophthalmica, I. bradyi, Pr. zenkeri and Ca. neglecta. Correlation analyses suggested a significant positive relationship in relative abundance between I. bradyi, Pr. zenkeri and Cy. ophthalmica. Species composition differed significantly between the upper and lower study sites for each spring, but differences could not be detected between sites at the same elevation across sites. Environmental tolerance index (ETI) values suggest that species with high optima and tolerance ranges show cosmopolitan characteristics.  相似文献

An uppermost Triassic–lowermost Jurassic carbonate platform succession, which is 430 m thick, in northwestern Sicily is described with the aim to provide new data on the sedimentological and biological variations across the Triassic–Jurassic boundary in peritidal environments. The studied succession belonged to the rimmed carbonate shelf that developed during the Late Triassic along the margins of the Ionian Tethys. The peritidal sediments consist of meter-scale shallowing-upward cycles formed by subtidal, intertidal, and supratidal facies. Three main informal units are differentiated along the section on the basis of the variations recorded by the subtidal facies. The lower and middle units are attributed to the Rhaetian, on the basis of the common presence of the foraminifer Triasina hantkeni, associated with several benthic foraminifers, such as Aulotortus sinuosus and Auloconus permodiscoides. Megalodontids are particularly abundant and large in the lower unit, whereas they become rare in the middle unit and disappear in the upper unit. The last occurrence of T. hantkeni, along with the disappearance of the benthic foraminifer fauna, and the bloom of the calcareous alga Thaumatoporella parvovesiculifera is assumed as a proxy of the Rhaetian–Hettangian boundary. Recovery biota during the early Jurassic occurs about 20 m upward of the boundary zone, marked by the appearance of benthic foraminifers, such as Siphovalvulina sp. The observed biostratigraphic signature in the studied section is easily comparable to similar Tethyan sections already described from Italy, Greece, and Turkey; thus, it is believed that the faunistic turnover does not reflect local facies variations, in response to changes in the accommodation space of the platform, but regional changes in a more wide area of ocean Tethys.  相似文献

Abstract

Tomato yellow leaf curl disease caused by Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) is a serious threat to tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) production worldwide. A Begomovirus resistance gene, Ty-2, was introduced into cultivated tomato from Solanum habrochaites by interspecific crossing. To identify the Ty-2 gene, we performed genetic analysis. Identification of recombinant line 3701 confirmed the occurrence of a chromosome inversion in the Ty-2 region of the resistant haplotype. Genetic analysis revealed that the Ty-2 gene is linked to an introgression encompassing two markers, SL11_25_54277 and repeat A (approximately 200 kb). Genomic sequences of the upper and lower border of the inversion section of susceptible and resistant haplotypes were determined. Two nucleotide-binding domain and leucine-rich repeat-containing (NB-LRR) genes, TYNBS1 and TYNBS2, were identified around the upper and lower ends of the inversion section, respectively. TYNBS1 strictly co-segregated with TYLCV resistance, whereas TYNBS2 did not. Genetic introduction of genomic fragments containing the TYNBS1 gene into susceptible tomato plants conferred TYLCV resistance. These results demonstrate that TYNBS1 is a functional resistance gene for TYLCV, and is synonymous with the Ty-2 gene.

The lowermost carbonate beds of the Cerro San Pedro (San Pedro de la Cueva, Sonora State, Mexico) previously assigned to the Mississippian, belong in fact to the lower Ordovician. The limestone of this succession is often dolomitized and chertified, and displays gastropods, pelmatozoans, sponges, and trilobites as major bioclastic components. The different microfacies show that high-energy grainstones, proximal tempestites, and distal tempestites dominated the sedimentation. The paleoenvironments of deposition correspond to an inner ramp, a mid-ramp, and perhaps the upper part of an outer ramp. The strata are characterized by the incertae sedis cyanobacteria Nuia sibirica. A taxonomic revision and discussion of these cyanobacteria, often confused with ooidic grains, is emphasized. Some data are presented on other microfossils, such as primitive, monothalamous foraminifers: Rauserina sp., Vicinesphaera sp., and Neoarchaesphaera sp., leperditicopida and their endolithic microperforations, and primitive chaetetids. Compared to the contemporaneous deposits of the USA, some paleobiological components, e.g., the lithistid siliceous sponges Archaeoscyphia, stromatoporoids? Pulchrilamina, and receptaculacean algae Calathium, are quite rare in the studied section of Sonora, but the predominance of tempestites in the carbonate succession shows that boundstones formed before were systematically eroded and resedimented. The paleogeographic implications are the following: (1) a lower Ordovician intertropical Nuia Province is newly defined in the western part of the lower Ordovician intertropical belt; (2) San Pedro de la Cueva constitutes one of the westernmost outcrops of this new Nuia Province; (3) from Sonora, Nuia extends eastward as far as South China; (4) due to its westernmost paleoposition, San Pedro de la Cueva was frequently affected by tropical storms; and (5) northern lower Ordovician terranes of Mexico (Sonora, Chihuahua, and Baja California) are entirely distinct from the southern ones (Oaxaca). The paleopositions and paleogeographic connections of these northern Mexican terranes with Laurentia, Avalonia, and peri-Gondwanan parts of South America, through the Iapetus and Rheic oceans, still remain disputable or unknown.  相似文献

Community N-mixture abundance models for replicated counts provide a powerful and novel framework for drawing inferences related to species abundance within communities subject to imperfect detection. To assess the performance of these models, and to compare them to related community occupancy models in situations with marginal information, we used simulation to examine the effects of mean abundance \((\bar{\lambda }\): 0.1, 0.5, 1, 5), detection probability \((\bar{p}\): 0.1, 0.2, 0.5), and number of sampling sites (n site : 10, 20, 40) and visits (n visit : 2, 3, 4) on the bias and precision of species-level parameters (mean abundance and covariate effect) and a community-level parameter (species richness). Bias and imprecision of estimates decreased when any of the four variables \((\bar{\lambda }\), \(\bar{p}\), n site , n visit ) increased. Detection probability \(\bar{p}\) was most important for the estimates of mean abundance, while \(\bar{\lambda }\) was most influential for covariate effect and species richness estimates. For all parameters, increasing n site was more beneficial than increasing n visit . Minimal conditions for obtaining adequate performance of community abundance models were n site  ≥ 20, \(\bar{p}\) ≥ 0.2, and \(\bar{\lambda }\) ≥ 0.5. At lower abundance, the performance of community abundance and community occupancy models as species richness estimators were comparable. We then used additive partitioning analysis to reveal that raw species counts can overestimate β diversity both of species richness and the Shannon index, while community abundance models yielded better estimates. Community N-mixture abundance models thus have great potential for use with community ecology or conservation applications provided that replicated counts are available.  相似文献

Lotagnostus is a biostratigraphically important late Furongian (late Cambrian) agnostoid trilobite whose interspecific and intraspecific variability is currently under discussion. In this context, type material of Lotagnostus atenuatus Rusconi, from an open-marine black limestone allochthonous block (La Cruz Olistolith) of Quebrada San Isidro, Precordillera of Mendoza, western Argentina, is revised herein. It includes several three-dimensionally preserved sclerites, allowing for an emended diagnosis of this species and comprehensive comparisons with other forms of Lotagnostus. Although to date L. atenuatus can be identified with confidence only at Quebrada San Isidro, it strongly resembles fragmentary material of Lotagnostus sp. indet., from late Furongian dysoxic upper slope facies of the Central Appalachians in eastern North America. The olenid Mendoparabolina brevicauda Rusconi, which is recorded in association with L. atenuatus, is also redescribed here. Mendoparabolina is closely allied with Wujiajiania Lu and Lin and Bienvillia Clark, differing by having a proportionately long and transversely bilobate pygidium with a posteriorly truncate axis and a postaxial median ridge.  相似文献

Multilocus DNA sequence-based identification methods raised the number of known species assigned to the Aspergillus section Versicolores. Currently, there are 16 species accepted in the section, including A. amoenus, A. austroafricanus, A. creber, A. cvjetkovicii, A. fructus, A. griseoaurantiacus, A. hongkongensis, A. jensenii, A. protuberus, A. puulaauensis, A. subversicolor, A. sydowii, A. tabacinus, A. tennesseensis, A. venenatus, and A. versicolor. Based on morphological identifications, most of these species were identified as either A. sydowii or A. versicolor, with the latter reported to have a world-wide distribution, growing in many habitats. Aspergillus versicolor has been implicated in health hazards including sick building syndrome, human and animal mycoses, and contamination of food and feed were assigned primarily to this species. A. versicolor is still commonly isolated from indoor surveys, even though species such as A. jensenii and A. creber seem more common. From indoor air samples collected at a grain mill in Croatia, we isolated an undescribed species assigned to the Aspergillus section Versicolores. A polyphasic approach, including sequence-based methods, morphological and physiological studies, was used for species characterization and in this paper is described as Aspergillus pepii. Additionally, sterigmatocystin producing abilities have been confirmed. Based on a combined phylogenetic tree, morphological features and sterigmatocystin producing abilities, A. pepii is closely related to A. versicolor. Further studies should explore the frequency of the species in indoor environments and its medical, industrial, and environmental significance.  相似文献

Two novel Aspergillus species, one belonging to the section Terrei and the other to section Flavipedes, were isolated from hypersaline soils of The National Park of Lake Urmia (Iran) and are here described as Aspergillus iranicus and Aspergillus urmiensis. A polyphasic taxonomic approach comprising extrolite profiles, phenotypic characters and molecular data (beta-tubulin, calmodulin and ribosomal polymerase II second largest subunit gene sequences) was applied to determine their novel taxonomic status. Aspergillus iranicus (CBS 139561T) is phylogenetically related to A. carneus, A. niveus, A. allahabadii and A. neoindicus, and it can be differentiated from those species by a unique extrolite pattern (citrinin, gregatins, and a terrequinone) and its conidial colour. Aspergillus urmiensis (CBS 139558T) shares a most recent common ancestor with A. templicola. The former species produces globose vesicles, and those of A. templicola are predominantly elongate. The Aspergillus urmiensis isolates produce several uncharacterized extrolites. Two other strains obtained during this study reside in a clade, together with the type strain of A. movilensis (CCF 4410T), and are identified accordingly. Based on the phylogenetic data presented in this study, A. frequens is reduced to synonymy with A. micronesiensis and A. mangaliensis is considered to be a synonym of A. templicola.  相似文献

The microbiota of whole crop corn silage and feces of silage-fed dairy cows were examined. A total of 18 dairy cow feces were collected from six farms in Japan and China, and high-throughput Illumina sequencing of the V4 hypervariable region of 16S rRNA genes was performed. Lactobacillaceae were dominant in all silages, followed by Acetobacteraceae, Bacillaceae, and Enterobacteriaceae. In feces, the predominant families were Ruminococcaceae, Bacteroidaceae, Clostridiaceae, Lachnospiraceae, Rikenellaceae, and Paraprevotellaceae. Therefore, Lactobacillaceae of corn silage appeared to be eliminated in the gastrointestinal tract. Although fecal microbiota composition was similar in most samples, relative abundances of several families, such as Ruminococcaceae, Christensenellaceae, Turicibacteraceae, and Succinivibrionaceae, varied between farms and countries. In addition to the geographical location, differences in feeding management between total mixed ration feeding and separate feeding appeared to be involved in the variations. Moreover, a cow-to-cow variation for concentrate-associated families was demonstrated at the same farm; two cows showed high abundance of Succinivibrionaceae and Prevotellaceae, whereas another had a high abundance of Porphyromonadaceae. There was a negative correlation between forage-associated Ruminococcaceae and concentrate-associated Succinivibrionaceae and Prevotellaceae in 18 feces samples. Succinivibrionaceae, Prevotellaceae, p-2534-18B5, and Spirochaetaceae were regarded as highly variable taxa in this study. These findings help to improve our understanding of variation and similarity of the fecal microbiota of dairy cows with regard to individuals, farms, and countries. Microbiota of naturally fermented corn silage had no influence on the fecal microbiota of dairy cows.  相似文献

The Upper Cretaceous-Paleogene genus Trinocladus that is based on T. tripolitanus Raineri, 1922, originally described from Libyan material, is morphologically well constrained. Its species are commonly distinguished on the basis of their biometrics. However, the narrow Gaussian distribution reported for some measurements may result from post-mortem dynamic sorting as suggested by a review of the surrounding microfacies. An examination of Brazilian material of the type-species suggests a slightly club-shaped thallus morphology. Two “false Permocalculus” species originally described by Johnson and the type-material of which has been reexamined are formally reascribed to the genus Trinocladus. T. budaensis, the smallest one, has slightly club-shaped thallus, too. T. elliotti is poorly mineralized and insufficiently documented. In addition to T. tripolitanus, Raineri described a tiny species which was later revised by Pia, i.e., Dissocladella ondulata. D. bonardii, a name recently introduced by Radoi?i? et al. and which is based on Raineri’s original material, is considered here as an objective junior synonym of D. ondulata.  相似文献
