Intraventricular injections of vasopressin (VP) and antagonists with varying degrees of specificity for the VP receptors were used to identify the action of endogenous brain VP on 0.3 M NaCl intake by sodium-deficient rats. Lateral ventricular injections of 100 ng and 1 microg VP caused barrel rotations and a dramatic decrease in NaCl intake by sodium-deficient rats and suppressed sucrose intake. Intraventricular injection of the V(1)/V(2) receptor antagonist [d(CH(2))(5)(1),O-Et-Tyr(2),Val(4), Arg(8)]VP and the V(1) receptor antagonist [d(CH(2))(5)(1),O-Me-Tyr(2),Arg(8)]VP (MeT-AVP) significantly suppressed NaCl intake by sodium-deficient rats without causing motor disturbances. MeT-AVP had no effect on sucrose intake (0.1 M). In contrast, the selective V(2) receptor antagonist had no significant effect on NaCl intake. Last, injections of 100 ng MeT-AVP decreased mean arterial blood pressure (MAP), whereas 100 ng VP elevated MAP and pretreatment with MeT-AVP blocked the pressor effect of VP. These results indicate that the effects produced by 100 ng MeT-AVP represent receptor antagonistic activity. These findings suggest that the effect of exogenous VP on salt intake is secondary to motor disruptions and that endogenous brain VP neurotransmission acting at V(1) receptors plays a role in the arousal of salt appetite. 相似文献

The present study was designed to investigate brain stem responses to manual acupuncture (MA) and electroacupuncture (EA) at different frequencies at pericardial P (5-6) acupoints located over the median nerve. Activity of premotor sympathetic cardiovascular neurons in the rostral ventral lateral medulla (rVLM) was recorded during stimulation of visceral and somatic afferents in ventilated anesthetized rats. We stimulated either the splanchnic nerve at 2 Hz (0.1-0.4 mA, 0.5 ms) or the median nerve for 30 s at 2, 10, 20, 40, or 100 Hz using EA (0.3-0.5 mA, 0.5 ms) or at approximately 2 Hz with MA. Twelve of 18 cells responsive to splanchnic and median nerve stimulation could be antidromically driven from the intermediolateral columns of the thoracic spinal cord, T2-T4, indicating that they were premotor sympathetic neurons. All 18 neurons received baroreceptor input, providing evidence of their cardiovascular sympathoexcitatory function. Evoked responses during stimulation of the splanchnic nerve were inhibited by 49 +/- 6% (n = 7) with EA and by 46 +/- 4% (n = 6) with MA, indicating that the extent of inhibitory effects of the two modalities were similar. Inhibition lasted for 20 min after termination of EA or MA. Cardiovascular premotor rVLM neurons responded to 2-Hz electrical stimulation at P 5-6 and to a lesser extent to 10-, 20-, 40-, and 100-Hz stimulation (53 +/- 10, 16 +/- 2, 8 +/- 2, 2 +/- 1, and 0 +/- 0 impulses/30 stimulations, n = 7). These results indicate that rVLM premotor sympathetic cardiovascular neurons that receive convergent input from the splanchnic and median nerves during low-frequency EA and MA are inhibited similarly for prolonged periods by low-frequency MA and EA. 相似文献

为系统了解中国凋落物分解及其影响机制的研究进展, 基于当前常用的4个学术期刊数据库(中国知网、ISI Web of Science、ScienceDirect和Springer Link), 检索1986-2018年的相关文献并进行计量分析。中国凋落物分解研究以森林生态系统为主(占65%), 且多集中于易于观测的地上凋落物部分, 未来应加强地下部根系凋落物分解研究。凋落物分解研究对象通常选取当地优势种或主要组成物种(约占68%), 考虑到混合效应的存在, 仅依据单一凋落物分解研究结果来反映自然界中混合凋落物的实际分解特征具有局限性。目前中国凋落物分解研究主要集中在碳、氮、磷3种元素上, 应更多关注影响分解的重要化学组分(如钾、铁、锰、木质素、单宁等)和环境污染相关重金属元素的迁移转化及调控机理。未来需将植物-凋落物-土壤作为一个整体, 结合生态化学计量学, 系统研究各元素的生物地球化学循环过程、机制及耦合关系。氮沉降和气候变化对凋落物分解的影响是当前研究热点, 特别是氮、磷等多因子交互作用对凋落物分解的影响, 以及气候变暖背景下凋落物分解的温度敏感性、冻土区凋落物分解驱动机制的研究。 相似文献

In vivo voltage clamp recordings have provided new insights into the synaptic mechanisms that underlie processing in the primary auditory cortex. Of particular importance are the discoveries that excitatory and inhibitory inputs have similar frequency and intensity tuning, that excitation is followed by inhibition with a short delay, and that the duration of inhibition is briefer than expected. These findings challenge existing models of auditory processing in which broadly tuned lateral inhibition is used to limit excitatory receptive fields and suggest new mechanisms by which inhibition and short term plasticity shape neural responses. 相似文献

The nature of the neural basis of amblyopia is a matter of some debate. Recent neurophysiological data show correlates of amblyopia in the spatial properties of neurons in primary visual cortex. During development, the nervous system is confronted with a problem of enormous complexity; to progress from a large number of 'disconnected' neurons to a network of neuronal circuitry that is able to dynamically process sensory information and generate an appropriate output. To form these circuits, growing axons must make synapses with targets, usually the dendrites of postsynaptic neurons. Although a significant amount is known about the signals that regulate and guide developing axons, we are only now starting to understand how environmental cues like growth factors and activity regulate the formation and maintenance of dendrites in the developing and mature nervous system. 相似文献

The essential elements controlling trigeminal motoneurons during feeding lie between the trigeminal and facial motor nuclei. These include populations of neurons in the medial reticular formation and pre-motoneurons in the lateral brainstem that reorganize to generate various patterns. 心血管系统是胚胎发育中最先形成的器官之一, 为机体提供营养成分和氧气。血管发育包括两部分, 一是内皮祖细胞(Angioblast)聚集形成血管原基(Vasculogenesis), 二是从已有血管形成新的血管分支(Angiogenesis)。此后由初级内皮细胞管召集平滑肌细胞形成功能性血管(Vessel maturation)。内皮祖细胞起源途径包括:由Flk1阳性中胚层细胞到成血成血管细胞(Hemangioblast)到血管内皮祖细胞; 或由Flk1阳性中胚层细胞直接到血管内皮祖细胞。Flk1阳性中胚层细胞受到vegf、flk1、cloche、lycat、etsrp等关键基因或信号通路的调节, 其中核心问题是原肠期中胚层如何形成Flk1阳性中胚层细胞及进一步分化成血管内皮祖细胞和成血血管细胞。文章集中评述内皮祖细胞发育、分化及其分子遗传调控机制, 并展望本领域未来发展方向。 相似文献

Detailed multidisciplinary research on the effect of tea and the associated tea polyphenols has led to major advances on the underlying mechanisms. In most studies, green and black tea have similar effects, four of which are reviewed in this paper. 1) Tea polyphenols are powerful antioxidants that may play a role in lowering the oxidation of LDL-cholesterol, with a consequent decreased risk of heart disease, and also diminish the formation of oxidized metabolites of DNA, with an associated lower risk of specific types of cancer. 2) Tea and tea polyphenols selectively induce Phase I and Phase II metabolic enzymes that increase the formation and excretion of detoxified metabolites of carcinogens. 3) Tea lowers the rate of cell replication and thus the growth and development of neoplasms. 4) Tea modifies the intestinal microflora, reducing undesirable bacteria and increasing beneficial bacteria. The accumulated knowledge suggests that regular tea intake by humans might provide an approach to decrease the incidence of and mortality from major chronic diseases. 相似文献

Central cholinergic mechanisms are suggested to participate in osmoreceptor-induced water intake. Therefore, central injections of the cholinergic agonist carbachol usually produce water intake (i.e., thirst) and are ineffective in inducing the intake of hypertonic saline solutions (i.e., the operational definition of sodium appetite). Recent studies have indicated that bilateral injections of the serotonin receptor antagonist methysergide into the lateral parabrachial nucleus (LPBN) markedly increases salt intake in models involving the activation of the renin-angiotensin system or mineralocorticoid hormones. The present studies investigated whether sodium appetite could be induced by central cholinergic activation with carbachol (an experimental condition where only water is typically ingested) after the blockade of LPBN serotonergic mechanisms with methysergide treatment in rats. When administered intracerebroventricularly in combination with injections of vehicle into both LPBN, carbachol (4 nmol) caused water drinking but insignificant intake of hypertonic saline. In contrast, after bilateral LPBN injections of methysergide (4 microg), intracerebroventricular carbachol induced the intake of 0.3 M NaCl. Water intake stimulated by intracerebroventricular carbachol was not changed by LPBN methysergide injections. The results indicate that central cholinergic activation can induce marked intake of hypertonic NaCl if the inhibitory serotonergic mechanisms of the LPBN are attenuated. 相似文献

Host-induced gene silencing (HIGS) refers to the silencing of genes in pathogens and pests by expressing homologous double-stranded RNAs (dsRNA) or artificial microRNAs (amiRNAs) in the host plant. The discovery of such trans-kingdom RNA silencing has enabled the development of RNA interference-based approaches for controlling diverse crop pathogens and pests. Although HIGS is a promising strategy, the mechanisms by which these regulatory RNAs translocate from plants to pathogens, and how they induce gene silencing in pathogens, are poorly understood. This lack of understanding has led to large variability in the efficacy of various HIGS treatments. This variability is likely due to multiple factors, such as the ability of the target pathogen or pest to take up and/or process RNA from the host, the specific genes and target sequences selected in the pathogen or pest for silencing, and where, when, and how the dsRNAs or amiRNAs are produced and translocated. In this review, we summarize what is currently known about the molecular mechanisms underlying HIGS, identify key unanswered questions, and explore strategies for improving the efficacy and reproducibility of HIGS treatments in the control of crop diseases.A review of what is known and unknown about the molecular mechanisms underlying the silencing of pathogen and pest genes via the expression of complementary RNAs in the host plant. 相似文献

Abstract. Duetting between the sexes in insects involves the use of airborne acoustic signals, substrate vibration and bioluminescence. Unlike avian duets, in which females may initiate the interaction, among insects the duet starts with the male, and the female usually provides a brief reply. Insect duets are characterized by low variance in the reply latency of the female (the time between a key element in the male call and the onset of the female's response). Duetting is reviewed principally in Orthoptera but also in Plecoptera, Hemiptera, Neuroptera and bioluminescence in the Coleoptera. The mechanisms of the duet are examined first, followed by evolution and the associated change in searching strategies of each sex. As defined, the duet has distinct temporal characteristics and these are compared with acoustic interactions among males in those species that exhibit male–male synchrony and alternation. For insects, the key element of a duet for species' recognition is low variance in the reply latency of females. In cases in which the male's initiating signal is extremely short, reply latencies become indicators of species' recognition. However, in those species in which the initiating male call is under selection through female choice, the male call is predictably longer and occasionally more complex. Under these circumstances, reply latencies often increase, creating an opportunity for alternative male tactics. When alternative tactics exist in nature, males may decrease the intensity of their call, insert a trigger pulse that signals to the female the end of its complex call, or males may even add a masking signal that obscures the competing signal. 相似文献
