A new long-snouted whipray, Himantura lobistoma, is described on the basis of seven specimens collected from the southeastern sector of the South China Sea, off western Borneo. It belongs to a subgroup of Himantura species provisionally defined herein as the “uarnacoides” complex that includes five nominal species: H. chaophraya, H. granulata, H. hortlei, H. pastinacoides, and H. uarnacoides. These whiprays all have a similar lateral disc shape (i.e., pectoral-fin apices broadly rounded rather than narrowly rounded or angular), a plain colouration (i.e., usually uniform light to dark brown dorsally, and pale or whitish ventrally with or without a dark margin), a long and slender whiplike tail, and platelike denticles in a broad dorsal band in adults. Himantura lobistoma can be distinguished from the superficially similar H. hortlei by its highly protrusible mouth and pelvic girdle with prominent lateral prepelvic processes. It differs from other members of the “uarnacoides” complex by a combination of internal and external morphological characteristics (e.g., having an extremely elongate snout and very small eyes). Another long-snouted stingray from the region, Dasyatis microphthalmus Chen, inadequately described and known only from the lost holotype, is considered a nomen dubium. It had been assigned to Himantura based on the absence of an obvious ventral cutaneous tailfold but may be conspecific with D. acutirostra.  相似文献

This revision describes, illustrates and documents morphological variation inDoniophyton (Compositae, Barnadesioideae), restricted to Argentina and Chile. Two species are recognized,D. anomalum andD. weddellii (sp. nova), possessing distinct morphological and chromosomal features, elevational tolerances, and nearly allopatric distributions.Doniophyton weddellii occurs primarily in central to northern Andean Chile and Argentina from 1900–4000 m a. s. l.;D. anomalum is found principally in centralwestern Argentina and south into Patagonia at 0–1800 m a. s. l. Close relationship exists withChuquiraga of subfam.Barnadesioideae. It is hypothesized thatDoniophyton evolved out ofChuquiraga in the high central Andes between Chile and Argentina. It is suggested thatD. weddellii differentiated first, correlating with an aneuploid chromosomal decrease from n = 27 (inChuquiraga) to n = 25. Further evolution and chromosomal decrease to n = 24 resulted inD. anomalum, with accompanying migration into southern Andes and Patagonia. Nomenclatural changes result from examination of protologues and type specimens:Doniophyton anomalum replaces the commonly used nameD. patagonicum, and a new species,D. weddellii, is described for the taxon masquerading under the routinely used superfluous nameD. andicola. Female Edovum puttleri Grissell [Hymenoptera: Eulophidae], reared from eggs of Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say) or Leptinotarsa texana Schaeffer [Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae], were videotaped as they attacked egg masses of L. decemlineata containing 20 host eggs. We identified 15 components of ovipositional behavior. Parasitoids reared on L. texana attacked and oviposited in significantly more host eggs than did females reared on L. decemlineata. Ethometric analyses of behavioral transitions and a clustering analysis of 34 behavioral parameters showed that females reared on L. texana attacked the host egg mass in a different manner than those reared from L. decemlineata. It was concluded that differences were associated with the host species upon which they were reared. Contrary to previous reports, mortality of unparasitized hosts was caused by an ovipositor probe of short duration, which was not related to host-feeding.  相似文献

Roegneria grandis was hybridized withR. ciliaris var.japonensis (2n = 28, SSYY),Elymus caninus (2n = 28, SSHH), andPseudoroegneria spicata (2n = 28, SSSS). Chromosome pairing was studied in parents and hybrids. It is concluded from this study that: (i)R. grandis is an allotetraploid species and contains the basic genomes S and Y: (ii) a certain degree of homoeology exists between the S and Y genomes of the species studied.  相似文献

Xylosandrus mutilatus is an Asian ambrosia beetle that has recently established in Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, and possibly Florida, USA. We investigated the fungi associated with the mycangia (specialized fungus-transporting structures) of X. mutilatus in Mississippi. Mycangia consistently yielded an Ambrosiella sp. which was subsequently found to be closely related to, but distinct from, other Ambrosiella species affiliated with Ceratocystis. This Ambrosiella is described herein as Ambrosiella beaveri sp. nov. Also isolated were Geosmithia lavendula, G. obscura, and a yeast, Candida homelintoma. It is likely Ambrosiella beaveri was introduced along with the beetle into North America.  相似文献

Heterais exul, previously known from Brazil and Argentina, was collected from a number of lakes and streams in the Lakes Region of Chile (between Valdivia and Puerto Montt). It was found in a wide variety of habitats: on leaf litter, detritus, algae, rotting wood, emergent vegetation, and clean sandy bottoms. Heterias, Pseudasellus, and Fritzianira are placed in synonymy, but Fritzianira is maintained as a subgenus of Heterias because of its lack of an antenna) scale. The 3 Australian species of Heterias and H. exul are believed to have evolved from a common freshwater Gondwanaland ancestor.  相似文献

We describe a new extinct subspecies of the Javan lutung—Trachypithecus auratus sangiranensis—based on an isolated, tooth-bearing upper jaw. The specimen was in volcanic breccia situated between the Lower Pucangan and the Upper Kalibeng Formations 500 m south of the village of Sangiran, near Surakarta, central Java, Indonesia. The new fossil monkey bears morphological similarities to the two living species of leaf monkey from Java, Presbytis comata comata and Trachypithecus auratus auratus, and to the Middle Pleistocene form, Trachypithecus cristatus [=auratus] robustus, from Tegoean, central Java. It is significantly larger than any of these forms, and differs from them in details of dental anatomy. Because the greatest number of similarities are between the new fossil and Trachypithecus auratus subspecies, we designated the specimen as T. a. sangiranensis. The geochronological age of the breccia from which the fossil came, is 1.9± 0.05 Ma (million years), making T. a. sangiranensis one of the oldest fossil monkeys from eastern Asia.  相似文献

The new genus and species Teracosphaeria petroica is described for a perithecial ascomycete and its anamorph occurring on decayed wood collected in New Zealand. The fungus produces immersed, non-stromatic ceratosphaeria-like perithecia in nature, with hyaline, septate ascospores produced in unitunicate, non-amyloid asci. The anamorph produced in vitro is phialophora-like with lightly pigmented phialides terminating in flaring, deep collarettes that are often noticeably brown with conspicuous periclinal thickening. Phylogenetic analysis of LSU rDNA sequence data indicates that this fungus is distinct from morphologically similar fungi classified in the Chaetosphaeriales, the Trichosphaeriales or the Magnaporthaceae. It forms a monophyletic group with recently described, chaetosphaeria-like ascomycetes, such as the pyrenomycete genus Mirannulata, and shows affinity with the anamorphic species Dictyochaeta cylindrospora. The usefulness of describing anamorph genera for morphologically reduced anamorphs, when anamorph characteristics are actually part of the holomorph diagnosis, is discussed. An apparently contradictory example of the so-called Cordana and Pseudobotrytis anamorphs of Porosphaerella spp. is also discussed.  相似文献

Human biotransformation of the industrial solvent N,N-dimethylformamide gives raise to N-acetyl-S-(N-methylcarbamoyl)cysteine (AMCC) which has the longest half-life (about 23 h) among urinary metabolites of N,N-dimethylformamide. It could be used for monitoring industrial exposure over several workdays, by measuring it in urine samples collected at the end of the working week. This is consistent with the suggestions of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, which established a limit of 40 mg/l for the year 2000. An easy, cheap and user-friendly method has been developed for determination of urinary AMCC. Unlike currently available methods, it requires neither a time-consuming preparation phase nor gas chromatographic analysis with a nitrogen-phosphorus or mass detector. The method uses high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), with an UV detector at 436 nm. A 10-μl volume of urine is added to a carbonate–hydrogen carbonate buffer and mixed with a dabsyl chloride solution in acetonitrile. The reaction between AMCC and the reagent is performed at 70°C for 10 min. The ‘dabsylated’ product is stable for at least 12 h. After brief centrifugation, the solution is ready for HPLC analysis using a C18 column (250×4.6 mm, 5 μm). The method is sensitive (detection limit 1.8 mg/l) and specific. It identified urinary AMCC in urine of 40 subjects not exposed to N,N-dimethylformamide with a median concentration of 3.9 mg/l. In urine samples from 20 workers exposed to N,N-dimethylformamide (5–40.8 mg/m3), AMCC concentrations ranged from 16 to 170 mg/l. Industrial toxicology laboratories with limited instrumentation will be able to use it in the biological monitoring of workers exposed to N,N-dimethylformamide.  相似文献

【背景】奇异变形杆菌(Proteus mirabilis)是一种机会致病菌,广泛存在于周围环境中,常导致动物和人类感染。【目的】探究吉林省长春地区某养鸡场病鸡死亡原因,为疾病防控提供参考。【方法】从病死青年鸡脏器分离到病原菌TSA-1,通过革兰氏染色、生化试验和16S rRNA基因序列鉴定,并进行药敏试验、毒力基因检测、细胞毒性和黏附性试验、大蜡螟攻毒试验研究。【结果】分离株TSA-1在镜下呈短杆状、球状的革兰氏阴性菌,生化特性与奇异变形杆菌相一致,16S rRNA基因序列比对显示与奇异变形杆菌相似度为100%;药敏试验结果显示分离株TSA-1对氨苄西林、四环素、卡那霉素、头孢唑林等14种药物耐药,对环丙沙星、恩诺沙星等7种药物敏感;分离株还具有较强的生物被膜形成能力,携带ireAucaApmfAatfAptAzapAhpmAflhC这8种毒力基因,并对巨噬细胞RAW264.7表现出细胞毒性,而且对Caco-2细胞具有很强的黏附作用;同时对大蜡螟幼虫表现出比禽致病性大肠杆菌(avian pathogenic Escherichia coliO78,APEC-O78)更强的致死作用。【结论】从病死鸡脏器分离得到的奇异变形杆菌TSA-1具有多重耐药性,并携带多种毒力基因,对细胞和大蜡螟幼虫表现出强毒性作用,说明该菌是引起病鸡死亡的主要致病菌之一,应引起重视。  相似文献

Summary   Ceiba rubriflora Carv.-Sobr. & L. P. Queiroz, a new species of Malvaceae subfamily Bombacoideae from the State of Bahia, Brazil, is described and illustrated. It is considered to be endemic to calcareous outcrops in the valley of the Rio S?o Francisco, in the western region of the state. Notes on distribution, ecology and phenology are given. Relationships with related species are discussed and an addition to the key to species of Ceiba Mill. published by Gibbs & Semir (2003) are provided.  相似文献

Snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus spp.) are confined to isolated mountainous regions in China and North Vietnam. Their systematic classification and phylogenetic relationship has been controversial. The structures of mitochondrial DNA cytochrome b and 12S rRNA show that the 4 species of Rhinopithecus are quite different from other colobines. It is reasonable to regard them as an independent genus, as determined by external features, morphometric characters and behavior. However, whether or not there should be a subdivision between the Vietnamese and Chinese species at the subgeneric level remains to be clarified; more evidence from a large range of Asian colobine species is needed. The Guizhou species, Rhinopithecus brelichi, is a valid species, which is more closely related to Pygathrix than the other species ( R. roxellana, R. bieti and R. avunculus) are. Results also indicate that 3 species—Rhinopithecus roxellana, R. bieti and R. avunculus—might have diverged from R. brelichi, but the phylogenetic relationship of R. avunculus is not clear.  相似文献

Chlorophyllide a is a metabolite late in the biosynthesis of chlorophylls and bacteriochlorophylls. Isolation procedures for chlorophyllide a from Rhodobacter capsulatus CB1200 and barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) are described and compared. R. capsulatus CB1200 is a double mutant in the bacteriochlorophyllide a biosynthetic pathway, and chlorophyllide a is excreted by the cells when grown in Tween 80-containing liquid medium. It was purified by liquid or solid phase extraction, yielding 7 mg of chlorophyllide a from 1 L of culture. In a second approach, intrinsic chlorophyllase activity was used to dephytylate chlorophyll in an acetonic preparation of leaves of wild-type or chlorophyll b-deficient barley. Purification was achieved by liquid phase extraction, yielding 14 μg of chlorophyllide a per gram of barley leaves. Chlorophyllide a was identified by thin layer chromatography, absorption spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry.  相似文献

Over 500 microorganisms isolated from Korean traditional foods, Maeju (source of soybean paste) and Nuruk (Korean koji), were screened to obtain an isomaltulose-producing microorganism. It was identified as Enterobacter sp. FMB-1 by 16S rRNA sequencing and the API 20E system. It had a greater than 90% conversion of sucrose (as 4 g/l) to isomaltulose in 2 days. Small amounts of trehalulose, glucose, and fructose were produced as byproducts, implying that this strain could be possibly employed in the production of isomaltulose in industry.  相似文献

椰子织蛾是棕榈植物的重要入侵害虫,在印度和斯里兰卡严重危害椰子树。2013年在海南省万宁市首次发现椰子织蛾。目前,该虫已在海南多个市县及广东和广西危害,对我国棕榈科植物的安全生产构成严重威胁。2014年11月,作者等人在万宁兴隆和三亚海棠湾镇调查椰子织蛾危害时,发现其重要天敌昆虫——褐带卷蛾茧蜂。为了进一步了解褐带卷蛾茧蜂,本文对其形态特征、分布、寄主和生物学习性进行了报道,以便更好地用于椰子织蛾的生物防治。  相似文献

To determine the evolutionary positions of the conifer genera Amentotaxus, Phyllocladus, and Nageia, we obtained 18S rRNA sequences from 11 new taxa representing the major living orders and families of gymnosperms. With the published Chlamydomonas as an outgroup, phylogenetic analyses of our new data and available sequences indicate that (1) the Gnetales form a monophyletic group, which is an outgroup to the conifers, (2) the conifers are monophyletic, (3) Taxaceae, Cephalotaxaceae, Cupressaceae, and Taxodiaceae form a monophyletic group, (4) Amentotaxus is closer to Torreya than to Cephalotaxus, suggesting that Amentotaxus is better to be classified as a member of Taxaceae, (5) Phyllocladus, Dacrycarpus, Podocarpus, and Nageia form a monophyletic group, and (6) Pinaceae is an outgroup to the other families of conifers. Our finding that Phyllocladus is a sister group of the Podocarpaceae disagrees with the suggestion that the phylloclade of the genus is an ancient structure and that the genus is a terminal taxon within the Podocarpaceae. The genus Nageia is more closely related to Podocarpus than to Dacrycarpus and was derived from within the Podocarpaceae. In conclusion, our data indicate that in conifers, the uniovulate cone occurred independently in Taxacaeae and Cephalotaxaceae, and in Podocarpaceae after the three families separated from Pinaceae, and support the hypothesis that the uniovulate cone is derived from reduction of a multiovulate cone.Correspondence to: S.-M. Wing scales of male Euploea mulciber (E. mulciber) and Troides aeacus (T. aeacus) butterflies were investigated from interest in photonic crystal by scanning electron microscopy and optical reflectance measurement. On the basis of the structural observation, the colouration in different areas in their wings was discussed. It was particularly deduced that a violet-green iridescence characteristic of E. mulciber’s forewing is caused only in a wavelength range from ∼380 to ∼510 nm by multiple interference from a highly tilted, triple-layered cuticle arrangement on the brown scales. It was also found that T. aeacus does not produce a blue-green sheen such as observed by Troides magellanus because its scales have no multiple cuticle layers but microrib layers unable to produce any backscattering diffraction.  相似文献

银白色葡萄球菌(Staphylococcus argenteus)是金黄色葡萄球菌(S. aureus)的近缘新种,于2015年正式被鉴定、命名。在此之前,银白色葡萄球菌一直被认为是金黄色葡萄球菌种内的一个远源支系。该物种绝大多数菌株分离自人体,基因组上含有大量与金黄色葡萄球菌同源的毒力基因,可导致与金黄色葡萄球菌类似的临床感染和食物中毒症状。因为与人类健康相关,银白色葡萄球菌受到了越来越多的关注,目前已在20多个国家被报道。但是由于出现较晚,与金黄色葡萄球菌难以区分,银白色葡萄球菌的全球分布状况、原始生境和传播过程尚不清楚。本文从发现过程、分布、致病性和鉴定方法等方面综述了银白色葡萄球菌的最新研究进展。  相似文献
