α-Amino acid Schiff-base complexes of oxovanadium(IV), whose ligands have amino acid side chains with coordinating functional groups, retained coordination geometries in which the amino acid side chains were probably coordinated in the axial position with a phenolate oxygen, a carboxylate oxygen, an imine nitrogen, and a solvent being bound in the equatorial plane. As for amino acid ester Schiff-base complexes, the amino acid side chains were coordinated in the equatorial plane in the place of the carboxyl group in the case of the amino acid Schiff-base complexes. The amino acid Schiff-base complexes of oxovanadium(V) were present as dimers in dichloromethane. Peroxo complexes prepared from the Schiff-base complexes of oxovanadium(V) converted methyl phenyl sulfide to the corresponding sulfoxide in 80-90% yield in CDCl3 and in 30-70% yield in CD3OD in 30 min. They converted the sulfide in a stereoselective manner yielding the sulfoxide in small enantiomeric excess (5-20%).  相似文献

Pentadentate Schiff-base complexes of oxovanadium(IV), the ligands of which were derived from salicylaldehyde derivatives with a variety of substituents and two kinds of amines (2,2-bis(aminoethyl)amine and 3,3-bis(aminopropyl)amine), were prepared, and their coordination geometries in the solid state were determined by X-ray diffraction and IR measurements and those in CH2Cl2 by EPR measurements. They were found to retain distorted octahedral coordination in the solid state. They showed the structural change depending on the type of the substituent. The complexes which reacted with tert-butylhydroperoxide converted methyl phenyl sulfide to the corresponding sulfoxide at lower rates of reaction than tridentate N-salicylidene-2-aminoethanolato oxovanadium(IV) ([VO(salae)]) and tetradentate (N,N-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediaminato)oxovanadium(IV) ([VO(salen)]).  相似文献

A series of Schiff base ligands (L1L5) and their cobalt(II) complexes (15) were designed and synthesized for MEK1 binding experiment. The biological evaluation results showed that Bis(N,N′-disalicylidene)-3,4-phenylenediamine-cobalt(II) 1 and Bis(N,N′-disalicylidene)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine-cobalt(II) 2 are much more effective than the parent Schiff bases (L1 and L2). Importantly, 2 exhibited MEK1 binding affinity with IC5071 nM, which is so far the best result for metal complexes and more potent than U0126 (7.02 μM) and AZD6244 (2.20 μM). Docking study was used to elucidate the binding modes of complex 2 with MEK1. Thus cobalt(II) complex 2 may be further developed as a novel MEK1 inhibitor.  相似文献

Herein, we report synthesis, characterization, antimicrobial and antimalarial activities of azines Schiff base ligands (L1−L4) and their palladium (II) complexes ( C1−C4 ) of [Pd(L)(OAc)2] type. The azine ligands (L1−L4) were prepared by condensation of carbonyl compounds with hydrazine hydrate and their complexes by the reaction of palladium acetate with L1−L4 ligands in 1 : 1 molar ratio. The prepared ligands and their complexes were characterized by spectral characterization using 1H &13C-NMR, FT-IR and mass spectral studies, which revealed that the ligands coordinates via azomethine nitrogen and heteroatom or aryl carbon with palladium. Moreover, Schiff bases and their palladium (II) complexes have been screened for their antibacterial (S. aureus, B. subtillis, and S. typhi, P. aeruginosa), antifungal (C. albicans, A. niger, and A. clavatus) and antimalarial (P. falciparum) activities. The Schiff base L4 showed good results for antibacterial against S. aureus (MIC, 50 μg/mL) and antimalarial against P. falciparum (IC50, 0.83 μg/mL). The complex C1 showed best antibacterial activity (MIC, 62.5 μg/mL) against S. typhi and the complex C4 exhibited remarkable antimalarial activity (IC50, 0.42 μg/mL) among the tested compounds. Thus, azines based ligands and their Pd complexes can be good antimicrobial and antimalarial agents if explored further.  相似文献

Abstract

Reaction of three aromatic sulfonamides possessing a primary amino group, i.e., sulfanilamide, homosulfanilamide and p-aminoethyl-benzenesulfonamide with heterocyclic and aromatic aldehydes afforded a series of Schiff bases. Metal complexes of some of these Schiff bases with divalent transition ions such as Zn(II), Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) have also been obtained. The new compounds were assayed as inhibitors of three isozymes of carbonic anhydrase (CA). Several of the new compounds showed a modest selectivity for the membrane-bound (bovine) isozyme CA IV (bCA IV) as compared to the cytosolic human isozymes hCA I and II, in contrast to classical inhibitors which generally possess a 17-33 times lower affinity for bCA IV. This greater selectivity toward bCA IV is due mainly to a slightly decreased potency against hCA II relative to classical inhibitors. However, metal complexes of these Schiff bases possessed an increased affinity for hCA II, being less inhibitory against bCA IV. The first type of compounds reported here (i.e., the Schiff bases of aromatic sulfonamides with heterocyclic aldehydes) might thus lead to the development of low molecular weight isozyme specific CA IV inhibitors. The difference in affinity for the three isozymes of the inhibitors reported by us here is tentatively explained on the basis of recent X-ray crystallographic studies of these isozymes and their adducts with substratesiinhibitors  相似文献

La(III), Ce(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Gd(III), Dy(III), Ho(III) and Er(III) complexes of Schiff bases derived from sulphamethoxazole and salicylaldehyde (I), and thiophene-2-aldehyde (II) have been characterized on the basis of IR, NMR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, elemental analysis, conductance measurements and molecular weight determinations. The Schiff bases act as monobasic bidentate ligands, rendering the metal eight-coordinated. The equilibrium constants have been studied in solution at 25, 30 and 35 °C. The nephelauxetic effect (1 - β), bonding parameter (β), b1/2 and Sinha covalency parameter (δ) have been calculated. The positive values indicate the covalent nature of the metal-ligand bond. The covalent nature of the complexes is also supported by molar conductance measurements. The toxicities of the Schiff bases and their complexes were evaluated against insects. The LD50 value for cockroaches and percent growth inhibition of the fungi show greater efficacy for the complexes than the Schiff bases.  相似文献

Oxovanadium(IV) complexes [VO(L)(B)] (1-3), where H2L is a Schiff base ligand 2-(2-hydroxybenzylideneamino)phenol and B is 1,10-phenanthroline (phen for 1), dipyrido[3,2-d:2′,3′-f]quinoxaline (dpq for 2) or dipyrido[3,2-a:2′,3′-c]phenazine (dppz for 3), have been prepared, characterized and their DNA binding property and photo-induced DNA cleavage activity studied. Complex 3 which is structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography shows the presence of an oxovanadium(IV) moiety in a six coordinate VO3N3 coordination geometry. The complexes show a d-d band within 800-850 nm in DMF. The complexes display an oxidative response near 0.7 V versus SCE for V(V)-V(IV) and a reductive response within −1.1 to −1.3 V due to V(IV)-V(III) couple in DMF-0.1 M TBAP. The complexes are avid binders to calf thymus DNA giving binding constant values of 4.2 × 104 to 1.2 × 105 M−1. The complexes do not show any “chemical nuclease” activity in dark. The dpq and dppz complexes are photocleavers of plasmid DNA in UV-A light of 365 nm via 1O2 pathway and in near-IR light (752.5 to 799.3 nm IR optics) by HO pathway. Complex 3 exhibits significant photocytotoxicity in visible light in HeLa cells giving IC50 value of 13 μM, while it is less toxic in dark (IC50 = 97 μM).  相似文献

Four new OH-functionalized orthopalladated complexes bearing an electron-donor and an acceptor group in a trans-like arrangement with respect to the metal have been prepared and characterized. The ligands are Schiff bases, bound as C,N- or N,O-chelating moieties. Four new polyesters were obtained by polycondensation from the monomeric complexes and pentyloxyterephthaloyl chloride. Two “model” complexes, each one related to one monomer, were also synthetized, in order to obtain further and more detailed characterization data, and in particular to perform measurements of μβ.  相似文献

Acinetobacter sp. strain 20B was isolated based on the ability to utilize dimethyl sulfide as the sole sulfur source. Since strain 20B oxidized indole as well as dimethyl sulfide, indigo production by recombinant Escherichia coli clones carrying Acinetobacter DNA was used as a selection for cloning genes encoding dimethyl sulfide oxidation genes. The gene encoding an indole-oxidizing enzyme was also found to oxidize dimethyl sulfide. The dimethyl sulfide-oxidizing enzyme genes consisted of six open reading flames designated dsoABCDEF. The deduced amino acid sequences of dsoABCDEF were homologous with those of the multicomponent phenol hydroxylases. DsoABCDEF oxidized dimethyl sulfide to dimethyl sulfoxide, and dimethyl sulfoxide to dimethyl sulfone.  相似文献

The hydrazone ligands derived from salicylaldehyde and aliphatic carbonic acid hydrazides react with equimolecular amounts of ammonium metavanadate and 8-hydroxyquinoline in refluxing methanol to yield oxovanadium(V) complexes. The synthesis can alternatively be performed starting from [VO(acac)2] followed by aerial oxidation to form the corresponding oxovanadium(V) complexes. The molecular structures determined by X-ray crystallography feature in all cases a oxovanadium(V) moiety in an distorted octahedral arrangement with an oxygen and nitrogen rich environment. The obtained compounds posses very good solubility in organic solvents, permitting electrochemical investigation. Square wave voltammetric measurements revealed two reversible one-electron reduction steps at 0.355 and −1.638 V. The reduction of the oxovanadium(V) complexes to the corresponding vanadium(IV) species occurs at relatively positive potential, which is independently verified by ESR spectroscopy. While the second reduction step appears to be accompanied by a pre-wave exhibiting an unusual frequency dependence which can be attributed to ligand addition/elimination equilibria related to the 8-hydroxyquinoline coligand. The oxovanadium(V) complexes can be converted into the corresponding cis-dioxovanadium(V) compounds by reaction with aqueous NaOH. 51V NMR monitoring of this reaction reveals that one equivalent of base results in a full conversion with the cis-dioxovanadium(V) complex being the only species present in solution.  相似文献

Metal complexes of Schiff bases derived from sulfamethoxazole (SMZ) and sulfathiazole (STZ), converted to their β-lactam derivatives have been synthesized and experimentally characterized by elemental analysis, spectral (IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and EI-mass), molar conductance measurements and thermal analysis techniques. The structural and electronic properties of the studied molecules were investigated theoretically by performing density functional theory (DFT) to access reliable results to the experimental values. The spectral and thermal analysis reveals that the Schiff bases act as bidentate ligands via the coordination of azomethine nitrogen to metal ions as well as the proton displacement from the phenolic group through the metal ions; therefore, Cu complexes can attain the square planner arrangement and Zn complexes have a distorted tetrahedral structure. The thermogravimetric (TG/DTG) analyses confirm high stability for all complexes followed by thermal decomposition in different steps. In addition, the antibacterial activities of synthesized compounds have been screened in vitro against various pathogenic bacterial species. Inspection of the results revealed that all newly synthesized complexes individually exhibit varying degrees of inhibitory effects on the growth of the tested bacterial species, therefore, they may be considered as drug candidates for bacterial pathogens. The free Schiff base ligands (12) exhibited a broad spectrum antibacterial activity against Gram negative Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Proteus spp., and Gram positive Staphylococcus aureus bacterial strains. The results also indicated that the β-lactam derivatives (34) have high antibacterial activities on Gram positive bacteria as well as the metal complexes (58), particularly Zn complexes, have a significant activity against all Gram negative bacterial strains. It has been shown that the metal complexes have significantly higher activity than corresponding ligands due to chelation process which reduces the polarity of metal ion by coordinating with ligands.  相似文献

A new series of four biologically active triazole derived Schiff base ligands (L1L4) and their cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes (116) have been synthesized and characterized. The ligands were prepared by the condensation reaction of 3-amino-5-methylthio-1H-1,2,4-triazole with chloro-, bromo- and nitro-substituted 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde in an equimolar ratio. The antibacterial and antifungal bioactivity data showed the metal(II) complexes to be more potent antibacterial and antifungal than the parent Schiff bases against one or more bacterial and fungal species.  相似文献

The use of the bond valence sum to assign correctly the oxidation state of a metal ion in a complex is discussed. Cerium complexes are used as examples since the oxidation state of Ce has been incorrectly assigned in a surprising number of publications. The recommended R0 values for Ce(III)-O of 2.118 Å, Ce(IV)-O of 2.070 Å, Ce(III)-N of 2.251 Å, and for Ce(IV)-N of 2.202 Å were derived from analyses of homoleptic Ce-O, Ce-N, and heteroleptic Ce-O and -N complexes. These R0 values can be used to assign correctly the oxidation state of Ce in complexes containing any combination of Ce-O or Ce-N bonds. An incorrect oxidation state assignment usually arises when the oxidation state of Ce or Pr in the product is assumed to be same as that of the starting Ce or Pr compound, but an oxidation or reduction has occurred. Problems with two related Sn complexes may have arisen because of a mix up in the starting materials.  相似文献

Copper(II) complex with a new ligand 1,4,7-tris(carbamoylethyl)-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (L) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, ES-MS, UV-Vis and cyclic voltammetry. Determined by X-ray analysis, the crystal structure shows the metal center is six-coordinated. The compound can catalyze the oxygenation of ethyl phenyl sulfide (EPS) utilizing H2O2 under ambient conditions. EPS was converted to the corresponding sulfoxide and sulfone step by step which was confirmed by 1H NMR spectra. The existence of sulfoxide and sulfone was identified by GC-MS. The gradually disappearance of EPS’s ultraviolet absorption at 290 nm was significantly correlated with the rates of sulfide consumption. The initial reaction rate during the first 3 h is consistent with the first-order law in substrate concentration. The averaged pseudo-first-order rate constant is calculated to be (2.25 ± 0.42) × 10−3 min−1 at 25 °C and (4.44 ± 0.17) × 10−3 min−1 at 30 °C. The oxidation product is almost sulfoxide by choosing the molar concentrations of Cu complex (2% of substrate) and H2O2 (seven times as much as substrate).  相似文献

[MnL](ClO4)2 (L = N,N′,N″-tris(2-hydroxypropyl)-1,4,7-triazacyclononane) has been tested for catalyzing sulfide oxidation. In the presence of this complex, ethyl phenyl sulfide, butyl sulfide and phenyl sulfide are completely oxidized to the corresponding sulfoxides and sulfones with H2O2 as the oxidant. 2-Chloroethyl phenyl sulfide oxidation yield 2-chloroethyl phenyl sulfone and phenyl vinyl sulfone. In ethyl phenyl sulfide oxidation, effects of complex and H2O2 concentration and temperature on the reaction rate have been discussed. Through controlling reaction conditions, ethyl phenyl sulfoxide and ethyl phenyl sulfone may be produced selectively. The UV–Vis and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) studies on catalyst solution indicate that metal centre of the complex is transformed from Mn(II) to Mn(IV) after the addition of H2O2. At 25 °C, rate constant for ethyl phenyl sulfide oxidation is 4.38 × 10−3 min−1.  相似文献

The objective was to prepare mononuclear, binuclear, and insoluble polynuclear oxovanadium(IV)-Schiff base complexes and to use them for sulfoxidation and epoxidation of organic substrates. [VO(salen)] (complex 1) with tetradentate salen(salicylideneethylenediamine) being coordinated in the equatorial plane of oxovanadium(IV), [VO(salap)] (complex 2), and [(VO)2(sal2-dhdabp)] (complex 3) with tridentate salap(salicylideneorthoaminophenol) and sal2-dhdabp(salicylidene-3,3-dihydroxy-4,4-diaminobiphenyl) being bound, respectively, in the equatorial plane, of which polynuclear complexes were constituted as monomer units, were prepared and spectroscopically characterized. A sulfide and olefins were oxidized by use of complexes 1 and 2 (mononuclear), complex 3 (binuclear), and the polynuclear complexes (poly-1 and poly-3) synthesized with 1 and 3, respectively. The reaction rates for poly-1 and -3 were a little lower than those of the corresponding 1 and 3. On oxidation of sulfides, poly-3 exhibited lowering of activity by about 15% in three cycles, while poly-1 showed significant lose of activity with each use. Poly-3 was efficient for the oxidation of the olefins only in the first cycle. It was suggested that the loss of activity depends not only on the coordination geometry of the oxovanadium complex, but also on the kind of the substrate.  相似文献

Schiff bases derived from condensation of 2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde with various primary amines, such as 1-adamantanamine hydrochloride, 2,6-dimethylaniline, 2,6-diethylaniline and 2,6-diisopropylaniline, react with palladium(II) acetate to give the corresponding bis(N-arylsalicylaldiminato)palladium(II) complexes. These complexes have been found to be active catalyst precursors for the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl bromides and iodides with aryl boronic acids using water as a solvent.  相似文献

The new tetradentate unsymmetrical N2O2 Schiff base ligands and VO(IV) complexes were synthesised and characterized by using IR, UV-Vis and elemental analysis. The electrochemical properties of the vanadyl complexes were investigated by means of cyclic voltammetry. The oxidation potentials are increased by increasing the electron-withdrawing properties of functional groups of the Schiff base ligands according to the trend of MeO < H < Br < NO2. The thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermoanalysis (DTA) of the VO(IV) complexes were carried out in the range of 20-700 °C. The complexes were decomposed in two stages. Also decomposition of synthesised complexes is related to the Schiff base characteristics. The thermal decomposition of the studied reactions was first order.  相似文献

A new and efficient synthesis of (L)-(trimethylsilyl)alanine (TMSAla) with suitable protection for use in Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS) has been accomplished starting from glycine tert-butyl ester and using hydroxypinanone as chiral inductor. The silylated side chain was introduced by alkylation of the Schiff base intermediate with iodomethyl(trimethylsilane) at ?78 °C. Among the different synthetic routes that were tested including several chiral inductors and different Schiff bases, this strategy was selected and afforded (L)-TMSAla in good chemical overall yield with 98 % ee.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of the Schiff base ligands, 4-[(4-bromo-phenylimino)-methyl]-benzene-1,2,3-triol (A1), 4-[(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxy-phenylimino)-methyl]-benzene-1,2,3-triol (A2), 3-(p-tolylimino-methyl)-benzene-1,2-diol (A3), 3-[(4-bromo-phenylimino)-methyl]-benzene-1,2-diol (A4), and 4-[(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxy-phenylimino)-methyl]-benzene-1,3-diol (A5), and their Cd(II) and Cu(II) metal complexes, stability constants and potentiometric studies. The structure of the ligands and their complexes was investigated using elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-Vis, 1H and 13C NMR, mass spectra, magnetic susceptibility and conductance measurements. In the complexes, all the ligands behave as bidentate ligands, the oxygen in the ortho position and azomethine nitrogen atoms of the ligands coordinate to the metal ions. The keto-enol tautomeric forms of the Schiff base ligands A1-A5 have been investigated in polar and non-polar organic solvents. Antimicrobial activity of the ligands and metal complexes were tested using the disc diffusion method and the strains Bacillus megaterium and Candida tropicalis.Protonation constants of the triol and diol Schiff bases and stability constants of their Cu2+ and Cd2+ complexes were determined by potentiometric titration method in 50% DMSO-water media at 25.00 ± 0.02 °C under nitrogen atmosphere and ionic strength of 0.1 M sodium perchlorate. It has been observed that all the Schiff base ligands titrated here have two protonation constants. The variation of protonation constant of these compounds was interpreted on the basis of structural effects associated with the substituents. The divalent metal ions of Cu2+ and Cd2+ form stable 1:2 complexes with Schiff bases. The Schiff base complexes of cadmium inhibit the intense chemiluminescence reaction in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) solution between luminol and dioxygen in the presence of a strong base. This effect is significantly correlated with the stability constants KCdL of the complexes and the protonation constants KOH of the ligands; it also has a nonsignificant association with antibacterial activity.  相似文献
