Taxonomic studies of Pterostichus ishikawai Nemoto (Coleoptera: Carabidae)

A macrocephalic pterostichine carabid, Pterostichus ishikawai Nemoto, endemic to the Korean Peninsula, is taxonomically revised based mainly on the membranous parts of the genitalia (male endophallus and female vagina). Two species are separated from P. ishikawai (type locality: Mount Taebaegsan) and newly described: P. ishikawaioides (type locality: Mount Sobaeksan) and P. jiricola (type locality: Mount Jirisan). Since comparative male genital morphology does not support monophyly for these three species, the two novel species should be treated as distinct species, not subspecies of P. ishikawai.     

New species of the genus <Emphasis Type="Italic">Pyrausta</Emphasis> (Lepidoptera,Crambidae) from Southern Siberia and Transcaucasia

Two new species of the pyralid genus Pyrausta Schrank, 1802, P. anastasia Shodotova, sp. n. from southern Siberia and P. alexandra Shodotova, sp. n. from the Transcaucasia, are described. P. anastasia sp. n. is very similar to P. chrysitis (Butler, 1881) in coloration and the wing pattern, but differs in the darker brown fore wings, a wider pale yellow band on the hind wing, and the structure of the aedeagus. P. alexandra sp. n. is very similar to P. falcatalis (Guenée, 1854) in coloration and the wing pattern, but differs in the darker brown wings, in the number of pale yellow spots on the fore and hind wings, and in the structure of the male and female genitalia. The holotypes and paratypes of both species are deposited in the Zoological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg).     

狭胸天牛类雄性外生殖嚣分类研究——附一新种

该文就狭胸天牛类3属6种雄性外生殖器的形态结构,比较研究其系统发育及其归属,并记录太谷芫天牛Mantitheus tazguensts sp. nov.一新种和重新描述细点音天牛的雄性外生殖器。狭胸天牛类属较原始的类群,祖征为中茎突中央加厚,边缘极薄;阳基侧突基部还保留着一条横裂。狭胸天牛属与音天牛属和芫天牛属关系较密切,应为姊妹群,狭胸天牛属较始,其衍征为中茎突较长的分开,内囊具基骨片、骨化细长管和大小较一致骨化微刺。音天牛属和芫天牛属为姊妹群,芫天牛较原始,音天牛较进化,其衍征为阳基侧突背面因基部裂缝消失而完全合并,骨化细长管较细;外部形态表现为触角较短,较圆;中胸发音器中央无缝;而芫天牛内囊基骨片明显易见。     

Revision of the lygaeid genera Porta and Primierus (Hemiptera: Heteroptera), with the description of a new genus of Ozophorini from Papua New Guinea (Hemiptera)

Abstract. The lygaeid genera Porta Distant and Primierus Distant are revised and placed in the tribe Ozophorini. A key to all species is included. Phylogenetic relationships are discussed and a cladogram constructed. The following new species are described: Porta illustris (Philippines); P.longipes (Sabah), Primierus quadrispinosus (Sarawak, Sabah, Malaya), P.venustus (Sabah), and P.longirostris (Thailand). Gressittocoris intimidator is described as a new genus and species of Ozophorini from Papua New Guinea. Porta gracilis Distant is reported from Sabah, Sumatra and Thailand for the first time and records of P.gracilis from the Philippines are referred to Porta illustris sp.n. Illustrations include details of the genitalia and dorsal views of Primierus quadrispinosus, P.longirostris and Gressittocoris intimidator.     

Notes on Perlesta (Plecoptera: Perlidae) from Eastern North America

The identity of Perlesta nitida is reviewed and demonstrated to be a valid species. The male is redescribed with an emphasis on internal genitalia, and the egg stage is described for the first time. Morphological features distinguishing P. nitida from similar species are provided. New distributional records of additional Perlesta species are reported.     

中国尾蛱蝶属系统发育分析——基于雄性外生殖器形态特征

在对中国尾蛱蝶属雄性外生殖器解剖研究的基础上,选取了23个雄性外生殖器解剖特征,利用Paup4.0b10系统发育分析软件,分析探讨了中国尾蛱蝶属系统发育关系。结果表明:中国尾蛱蝶属9个种分为2个支系,一支系由凤尾蛱蝶Polyura arja、窄斑凤尾蛱蝶P.athamas及黑凤尾蛱蝶P.schreiber3种组成,另一支系由二尾蛱蝶P.narcaea、沾襟尾蛱蝶P.posidonius、忘忧尾蛱蝶P.nepenthes、异纹尾蛱蝶P.mutata、大二尾蛱蝶P.eudamippus及针尾蛱蝶P.dolon6种组成。两大支系均以渐次方式演化;凤尾蛱蝶与窄斑凤尾蛱蝶、大二尾蛱蝶与针尾蛱蝶各自互为姊妹群关系。     

世界黄阔祝蛾属分类概述及一新种记述(鳞翅目:祝蛾科)

列出了黄阔祝蛾属Lecitholaxa Gozmany世界已知7种的名录,包括1新种和2新组合种。新组合种Lecitholaxa pogonikuma(Wu et Park)和L.Mesosura(W u et Park)系由祝蛾属Lecithocera中移入。新种南林黄阔祝蛾Lecitholaxa adonia sp.nov.采自中国湖南,新种与L.kumatai Gozmany近缘,但本种雄性外生殖器的抱器瓣较短,阳茎内有片状的阳茎针;雌性外生殖器第8腹板的尾缘几乎直,囊突大而呈椭圆形。L.kumatai Gozmany则抱器瓣较长,阳茎内无片状阳茎针;雌性第8腹板的尾缘深凹,估小而呈横条状。模式标本保存在中国科学院动物研究所。     

中国沼蝇科二新种（双翅目：沼蝇科）

本文记述了采自中国东北沼蝇科的二个新种:Pherbellia orientalis sp.nov.属于该属的P.dorsata种团,其主要特征是翅部分为黑色,前足基跗节为鲜明的白色;Elgivamanchuricasp.nov.与该属的一个种E.divisa(Loew)相似,但可从新种光裸的前胸腹板和不同形状构造的雄性外生殖器予以区别。 新种的模式标本保存于德国波恩Alexander Koenig博物馆。     

Polycentropus cianficconiae sp. n. from Sicily and Descriptions of the Females of the Polycentropus Species Found in Sicily (Trichoptera,Polycentropodidae)

The male and female of Polycentropus cianficconiae sp. n. (Peloritani Mountains, Northeast Sicily) are described. This new species is related to P. divergens Mosely, 1930, of which the variability of some characters of male genitalia is examined. Female genitalia of the new species are compared to those of P. divergens, P. malickyi Moretti, 1981 and P. mortoni Mosely, 1930. The characters of female genitalia are useful for evaluating the relatedness and differences among the species. They agree with the findings of the study on male genitalia.     

Notes on two species of the subgenus Lyrothorax Chaudoir (Coleoptera: Carabidae; genus Pterostichus), Pterostichus amagisanus Tanaka and Ishida and Pterostichus fujitai Tanaka and Ishida

Two species of the subgenus Lyrothorax Chaudoir (Coleoptera: Carabidae; genus Pterostichus ), Pterostichus amagisanus Tanaka and Ishida and Pterostichus fujitai Tanaka and Ishida, were revised based on the male endophallus (inner sac everted from aedeagus). P. amagisanus was newly recorded based on a single male from Kyushu, southwest Japan, far from its known distribution (Honshu; the Fuji-Hakone-Izu volcano area), although additional materials are necessary to confirm this record. Despite a highly disjunct distribution, no conspicuous difference was recognized in either external or genital characters between the materials from Honshu and Kyushu. The nominal species P. fujitai was separated into two species, P. fujitai (Honshu) and Pterostichus eoyoritomus sp. nov. (Shikoku; type locality: Mount Jingayama); these two species have some significant differences in the endophallic structures. Character states in male genitalia suggest a sister relationship between P. eoyoritomus sp. nov. and Pterostichus yoritomus Bates.     

锦织蛾属Promalactis Meyrick一新种及多刺锦织蛾P. spinosa雌性记述(鳞翅目:织蛾科)

记述锦织蛾属1新种：内乡锦织蛾Promalactis neixiangensis Wang, sp. nov., 并首次报道多刺锦织蛾Promalactisspinosa WangetLi的雌性个体。新种可通过下列特征与该属其它种类区别：前翅沿外缘有1条明显的白色细带;雄性外生殖器抱器背基部有1个背缘具齿的大突起,抱器瓣右侧端部有1个被棘刺的圆形背突和1个近三角形的腹突。研究标本保存在南开大学生命科学学院昆虫标本室。     

Interesting findings of rare geometrid species (Lepidoptera,Geometridae) in the Altai

Five rare species, Macaria halituaria (Guenée, [1858]), Chelegnophos ravistriolaria (Wehrli, 1922), Ch. tholeraria (Pungeler, 1901), Scotopteryx transbaicalica (Djakonov, 1955), and Xanthorhoe stupida (Alphéraky, 1897), are described. Chelegnophos tholeraria was found for the first time in the territory of Russia, and Ch. ravistriolaria and S. transbaicalica, in the territory of the Altai. Drawings of genitalia are given for all the species studied, and some differences from closely related species are presented. The male genitalia of X. stupida and Scotopteryx burgaria and the female genitalia of S. transbaicalica are described for the first time.

尖顶小卷蛾属Kennelia全世界已知2种,中国均有分布.本文记录3种,包括1新种:凹尖顶小卷蛾K.apiconcava sp.nov..文中给出了尖顶小卷蛾属的分种检索表,提供了成虫图和外生殖器特征图.研究标本及模式标本均保存在南开大学生命科学学院昆虫标本室.新种与鼠李尖顶小卷蛾K.xylinana(Kennel)在雄性外生殖器上相似,两者的主要区别是:前者较后者个体小;爪形突末端凹陷呈"M"状,不膨大;尾突端部尖锐;抱器瓣颈部很细,约为抱器端宽的1/4;抱器端近圆形.鼠李尖顶小卷蛾K.xylinana(Kennel)个体较大;爪形突端部膨大,末端平截;尾突端部钝圆;抱器瓣颈部粗,约为抱器端宽的1/2;抱器端斜卵圆形.     

墨蚜蝇(双翅目,食蚜蝇科,食蚜蝇亚科)八种雄性外生殖器比较

作者对墨蚜蝇族中3属8种昆虫:东方墨蚜蝇Melanostoma orientale,方斑墨蚜蝇M.mellinum,梯斑墨蚜蝇M.scalare,天台墨蚜蝇M.tiantaiensis,黑腹宽跗蚜蝇Platycheirus albimanus,叉尾宽跗蚜蝇P.bidentatus,斜斑宽跗蚜蝇P.scutatus,圆斑宽扁蚜蝇Xanthandrus comtus进行了雄性外生殖器的比较研究,并分别予以绘图和描述。结果表明,雄性外生殖器在属内种间形态结构很相似,仅在尾器颜色、阳茎基部形状等方面有微小的区别;而在属间主要是背针突和上叶的形态和结构存在较大的不同。     

中国发小卷蛾属研究及二新种记述（英文）

发小卷蛾属Pseudohedya Falkovitch全世界已知5种,分布在古北区东部（日本,韩国,俄罗斯远东地区及我国长白山）,本研究中首次在东洋区发现该属。本文报道了中国所有种类,其中记述2新种：梵净发小卷蛾P. fanjingica sp. nov.（贵州梵净山）与刘氏发小卷蛾P. liui sp. nov.（河南王屋山）;缩发小卷蛾P. retracta Falkovitch为中国新纪录种（河南,陕西,天津,湖北,广东,四川,甘肃）。文中提供了分种检索表、形态特征图、雄性外生殖器图及部分种的雌性外生殖器特征图。模式标本保存在南开大学昆虫标本室。     

Phenotypic and genetic variation in male genitalia in the seedbug, Lygaeus equestris (Heteroptera)

Male genitalia evolve through sexual selection and, in insects, tend to show negative static allometry, low phenotypic variation, and are usually relatively small. Much less is known about the genetic variation and heritability of male genitalia. Additionally, in instances where the intromittent organ is greatly elongated, it is unclear whether typical patterns of genital scaling and variation also apply. In the present study, we investigated the allometry, variation, and heritability of male genital length in the seedbug, Lygaeus equestris , a species with a greatly elongated intromittent organ (i.e. almost as long as male body size). We found that genital length was negatively allometric, in spite of its great length, and was no more variable than nongenital traits.
