The genus Meiothrips Priesner (Thysanoptera, Phlaeothripidae, Idolothripinae) with a key and a new species from China

The genus Meiothrips Priesneris reviewed, with Meiothrips fuscicrussp. n., and Meiothrips nepalensis Kudo & Ananthakrishnan recorded and described from China, and a key provided to the five known species. COI sequences of the new species and Meiothrips nepalensis are also provided.     

The Old World species of Pygothrips (Thysanoptera: Phlaeothripidae)

Abstract. The Old World species of the genus Pygothrips are studied. Nine species are included. Four of them are previously known: P.mikrommatos (Moulton) from Fiji, P. pygus (Mound), P. rugicauda Hood and P. shavianus (Bagnall) from Australia. A further five species are new to science: P. breviceps from Japan, P. flavomaculatus from Obi Is., Indonesia, P. fusculus from Ogasawara Is., northwestern Micronesia, Japan, P. postocellaris from Fiji and P. vicinus from the Ryukyus, Japan. A key to species is provided.     

A revision of the grass-living genus Podothrips (Thysanoptera: Phlaeothripidae)

The genus Podothrips Hood is redefined, and three new species are described: orion and australis from Australia and moundi from New Guinea. Two new synonymies are recorded in Podothrips and fuscus Moulton and monsterae Moulton are excluded. A key to the nineteen species and an annotated catalogue are provided. The distribution and biology of the genus are briefly discussed.     

The genus Speleocola lipovsky (Acari: Trombiculidae) with descriptions of two new species from Venezuela

Speleocola Lipovsky 1952 is redescribed. New species S. clangula off Rhipidomys sp., Venezuela, and S. nolae off Peropteryx kappleri, Venezuela, are described. A key to the 5 included species is given.     

The genus Keilbachia Mohrig from Mainland China, with descriptions of two new species (Diptera, Sciaridae)

Seven species of Keilbachia Mohrig are recognized, and among them, two new species, Keilbachia subacumina Wu & Zhang, sp. n. and Keilbachia fengyangensis Wu & Zhang, sp. n. are described and illustrated. Five species, Keilbachia orthonema, Keilbachia flagrispina, Keilbachia demssia, Keilbachia oligonema and Keilbachia acumina are reported for the first time from China. A key to the 15 Chinese species of this genus is also provided.     

匙管蓟马属(Mystrothrips)-中国缨翅目管蓟马科-新纪录属记述

本文记述了中国缨翅目管蓟马科一新纪录属,匙管蓟马属（Mystrothrips）。该属的主要特征为：全身、触角和足布满网状花纹,前胸背板具5对发达的鬃。本文还详细描述了黄匙管蓟马（Mystrothrips flavidus）的形态特征,并首次描述了该种的长翅型。该种原记载于日本,现于我国广东省发现。研究标本保存在华南农业大学昆虫标本室。     

A new genus Woonpaikia Park,gen. nov. (Lepidoptera: Lecithoceridae) with descriptions of two new species

A new genus Woonpaikia Park, gen. nov. (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea: Lecithoceridae) is established, based on the type species, Woonpaikia villosa Park, sp. nov. from Thailand. Another new species, Woonpaikia angoonae Park, sp. nov. is also described.     

One new species and two new records of the genus Aeolothrips from Iran (Insecta,Thysanoptera, Aeolothripidae)

Aeolothrips gundeliae sp. n. is described, and two bicolored species of the same genus, Aeolothrips ericae Bagnall and Aeolothrips albithorax Pelikan are newly reported from northeast of Iran. Diagnostic characters are provided for each species as well as illustrations to distinguish these species.     

Eriophyoid mites (Acari,Eriophyoidea) associated with tea plants,with descriptions of a new genus and two new species

A new genus and two new species of mites in the family Eriophyidae, Theaphyes rapaneae gen. n. and sp. n. which is found on the type host Rapanea neriifolia (Sieb. et Zucc.) Mez (Myrsinaceae) and Paracaphyllisa theacea sp. n., are described and illustrated. They are vagrants on the tea plant Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze and no apparent symptoms were detected. A key to the eriophyoid mites including thirteen species associated with tea plants all over the world is provided.     

Key to the fungus-feeder Phlaeothripinae species from China(Thysanoptera: Phlaeothripidae)

In China, 31 genera and 95 species of fungivorous Phlaeothripinae are recorded here, of which 7 species are newly recorded and illustrated. An illustrated identification key to the 94 species is also provided, together with the information of specimens examined, and distribution of each species.     

The genus Andraca (Lepidoptera, Endromidae) in China with descriptions of a new species

The six species of the genus Andraca Walker hitherto known from China are reviewed, and a new species, Andraca gongshanensis, sp. n., described from Yunnan Province, China. Adults and male genitalia of all examined species are illustrated, together with a distributional map. A key to all seven Chinese Andraca species is provided. The types of the new species are deposited in SCAU (South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, China) and HUNAU (Hunan Agricultural University, Changsha, China).     

Carcinothrips: A genus of Acacia phyllode-glueing thrips with grossly enlarged fore legs (Thysanoptera: Phlaeothripidae)

Members of the Australian thrips genus Carcinothrips Moulton have the front legs modified into massive chelate structures, with elongate and expanded fore femora bearing a row of stout tubercles, and foreshortened fore tibiae that close onto these tubercles. Females of Carcinothrips leai , the only previously described species, and also of a new species, Carcinothrips tania , secrete a ring of glue from their anus to fix together pairs of Acacia phyllodes. Adults and larvae live within the shallow cell so produced, and feed on the phyllode walls of their domicile.
