The length‐weight relationships (LWRs) are presented for seven freshwater fish species (Odontobutis potamophila, Protosalanx chinensis, Acheilognathus chankaensis, Megalobrama skolkovii, Pelteobagrus vachelli, Macropodus chinensis, Pseudobrama simoni) from JiangSu province in China. A total of 1340 specimens were sampled and measured between August 2012 and September 2013. No information regarding the LWRs of these species was available in FishBase.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for 4 deep water fish species from Visakhapatnam coast, India. Specimens were collected fortnightly between December 2013 and November 2015 from commercial trawls at Visakhapatnam fish landing centre (16.98°N–20.2°N, Long.82.19°–86.53°E). Individuals were captured between 100 and 300 m depth with shrimp trawl net (head rope length: 37–46 m and cod end mesh size: 30–40 mm). Total length (TL) (nearest to 0.1 cm) and body weights (nearest to 0.1 g) were taken each individual. All LWRs were significant with r2 values ranged from 0.958 for Uranoscopus bicinctus Temminkc & Schlegel, 1843 to 0.983 for Uranoscopus chinensis Guichenot, 1882 and “b” values ranged from 2.832 for U. bicinctus to 3. 402 Synodus indicus (Day, 1873).This study provides a new maximum length data for three species (Uranoscopus bicinctus Temminkc & Schlegel, 1843; Uranoscopus chinensis Guichenot, 1882 and Uranoscopus marmoratus Cuvier, 1829).  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for three fish species: Zebrias zebrinus (Temminck & Schlegel, 1846), Setipinna termuifilis (Valenciennes, 1848) and Pampus echinogaster (Basilewsky, 1855). Samples were collected from the coastal waters of Yellow Sea, China, from early April to mid–April 2017 using bottom trawl nets (20 mm stretched mesh size of cod‐end) and set nets (15.6 mesh size). The values of exponent b in the fitted LWRs ranged from 3.101 to 3.427 for three fish species.  相似文献

The present study narrated the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of three fish species Salmophasia sardinella (Valenciennes, 1844), Amblypharyngodon microlepis (Bleeker, 1853) and Macrognathus aral (Bloch & Scheider, 1801) from the Arial Khan River, a south‐eastward outlet of the river Padma, Bangladesh. Fish samples were collected monthly basis from fishermen who used cast nets (mesh size <0.5 cm) and set bag nets (mesh size 0.5 cm) for catching fish species from January to December, 2016. The growth coefficient b in LWRs were 3.004, 3.001 and 2.936 for M. aral, S. sardinella and A. microlepis, respectively.  相似文献

Current study reports the length‐weight relationships (LWRs) of three marine fish species collected from the fishermen catches covering three seasons i.e., rainy, autumn and winter between June, 2016 and February, 2017. Fishermen caught the species using beach seine net (3.5 cm mesh size) and set bag net (0.5 cm mesh size) up to 200 m far away from the shoreline. The LWRs for fish species were W = 0.0180TL3.192 for A. longispinnis, W = 0.0109TL2.971 for R. russeliana and W = 0.0098TL2.942 for C. neglecta with their r2 values of 0.971, 0.962 and 0.997, respectively.  相似文献

The length–weight relationships (LWRs) for three native fish species of the Comacchio Lagoon (northwestern Adriatic Sea, Italy) were determined. The species Zosterisessor ophiocephalus (Pallas, 1814), Pomatoschistus canestrini (Ninni, 1883) and Knipowitschia panizzae (Verga, 1841), were sampled monthly from 2010 to 2014. Both Pcanestrini and Kpanizzae are listed as protected species in the Habitat Directive and the Berne Convention and there is no information on their LWRs in FishBase.  相似文献

From February to October 2016, a total of 9,754 fish specimens were collected from the Yiluo River, a tributary of the Yellow River, China's second longest river. Based on these samples, length–weight relationships (LWRs) and length–length relationships (LLRs) were estimated for 26 species. Among these data, LWRs for 1 species, LLRs for 11 species, and maximum total lengths for six species were not previously recorded in FishBase. The a values of the LWRs varied between 0.0019 and 0.0116, and b values from 2.805 to 3.883. All regressions for LWRs and LLRs were highly significant (< .001). These results will be useful for sustainable management and conservation of the fish resources in the Yiluo River and the Yellow River ecosystem.  相似文献

This paper provides length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for three freshwater cyprinid fish species: Barbodes carnaticus (Jerdon, 1849), Hypselobarbus kolus (Sykes, 1839) and Tor khudree (Sykes, 1839) from the Chalakduy River in South Western Ghats of India. Fish samples were collected on a monthly basis between April 2011 to March 2012 using gill nets of different mesh sizes (3.5–10 cm). Length-weight relationships (LWRs) and length-length relationships (LLRs) were evaluated for three endemic fish species sampled from the lower Yalong River and its biggest tributary (the Anning River), in China. Specimens were captured using set gillnet (mesh size 4 cm) and backpack electro-fishing (power output 400 W, depth fished 1 m, area covered 3 m2) from June to July 2018. The length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for three freshwater fish species in catchment area of Hoiya River, Republic of Korea, were analyzed. Fish samples were collected quarterly using scoop‐nets (5 mm mesh size), casting nets (7 mm mesh size) from 2017 to 2018. For LWRs using the general equation from Froese (2006), the parameter b ranges from 3.14 (Oryzias latipes) to 3.37 (Iksookimia longicorpa). Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for three cyprinid fish species [Acrossocheilus yunnanensis (Regan, 1904), Onychostoma simum (Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant, 1874) and Spinibarbus sinensis (Bleeker, 1871)] from southwestern China. The present study provides the length‐weight relationships (LWRs) of two Ambassid fish species, Parambassis dayi (Bleeker, 1874) and Parambassis thomassi (Day, 1870) from River Pamba in Southern Western Ghats, India. Fishes were collected on a monthly basis between April 2014 to March 2015 using gill nets (1.0–3.0 cm), cast nets (1.0–2.0 cm) and seine nets (1.0 cm). The b values in the LWRs were estimated as 3.01 for P. dayi and 3.14 for P. thomassi. No previous information is available on LWRs for these two species in FishBase.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for three fish species (Gymnodiptychus pachycheilus (Herzenstein, 1892), Triplophysa bleekeri (Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant, 1874) and Triplophysa pseudostenura (He, Zhang & Song, 2012)) from the Yalong River in China. Samples were obtained between March 2009 and July 2013 using gillnets (25 × 12 m, mesh size 0.5 cm) and fish cages (0.5 × 0.5 × 10 m, mesh size 0.5 cm mesh). For each species, the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. This study provides the first report of length–weight relationships (LWRs) for three fish species collected from the Yalong River, one of the tributaries to the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, China. The LWRs of these fish species were BW = 0.0070TL3.0539 (r2 = 0.9662) for Schizothorax wangchiachii, BW=0.0134TL2.8523 (r2 = 0.9676) for Schizopygopsis malacanthus, and BW=0.0143TL2.9253 (r2 = 0.8538) for Euchiloglanis kishinouyei, respectively. Also investigated were the spawning season, absolute fecundity and main food items of the three fish species in the natural environment. Length–weight relationships (LWRs) of six finfish species under two families of the order Perciformes collected from Pulicat lagoon (India) are presented in this study. The fish specimens were collected weekly from the catches of shore seine net (with a mesh size of 50mm at the main webbing and 10 mm at the cod end) operated in the lagoon at an average depth of 2.5 m by the local fishermen during the period from July 2018 to April 2019. This study reports the LWRs for five gobiid and one siganid fish species which have no earlier reports on LWRs. The calculated ‘b’ value ranged from 3.538 (Favonigobius reichei) to 2.677 (Oxyurichthys microlepis) and ‘a’ value varied from 0.0041 (Favonigobius reichei) to 0.0199 (Acentrogobius cyanomos). This study also reports the new maximum total length (TLmax) for the gobiid fish species Oxyurichthys microlepis.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for three Carangid fish, [Alepes vari (Cuvier, 1833), Uraspis uraspis (Günther, 1860) and Carangiodes oblongus (Cuvier, 1833)] inhabiting in the Bay of Bengal coast, Bangladesh. A total of 147 individuals of three species were sampled from four different sampling points of the Bay of Bengal coast, Bangladesh and examined from April 2017 to October 2017. Fishermen operated beach seine nets (mesh size BSN, 30 mm) and drift gillnet (10.5 cm) twice in each sampling campaign to catch the studied species. The calculated value for parameter “b” of LWRs were 3.003, 2.945 and 2.980 for A. vari, U.uraspis and C. oblongus, respectively.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) for five fish species which were captured by trap‐nets and gillnets (major mesh size: 1–10 cm) from the middle Yangtze River, China (29°47′ – 29°26′N; 112°51′ – 113°08′E) were determined in September 2017. These were Acheilognathus hypselonotus (Bleeker, 1871), Culter oxycephaloides Kreyenberg & Pappenheim, 1908, Distoechodon tumirostris Peters, 1881, Sarcocheilichthys nigripinnis (Günther, 1873) and Micropercops swinhonis (Günther, 1873). The LWRs were estimated using the logarithmic form of the formula =   ×  Lb. The b value ranged from 2.879 for A. hypselonotus to 3.285 for M. swinhonis. LWRs for four fish species and new maximum lengths for three species are presented to FishBase for the first time.  相似文献

This study evaluated the length-weight relationships (LWRs) for three teleost fish species sampled from the Stung Russei Chrum River basin, Kingdom of Cambodia. The fish were collected during two dry seasons (April 2019 and November 2019) and one rainy season (October 2018) using monofilament trammel nets (2–12 cm mesh size), cast net (mesh size 2 cm) and scoop-nets (mesh size with 0.3 cm). Results showed that all fitted regressions were highly significant and the coefficients of determination (r2) were high. This study expanded the value of maximum total length for Cyclocheilichthys apogon and Poropuntius laoensis while reported the wider ranges of total mass for Poropuntius laoensis. Moreover, our present study also provided the novel LWRs records for Hemibagrus filamemtus.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for three fish species from the River Ganga (India) is presented. Sampling was conducted from the lower stretch of the River Ganga (Patna: 25°36′51.66″N & 85°12′7.02″E to Freserganj: 21°35′40.58″N & 88°15′28.92″E) during April, June and September and December of 2017. Specimens were caught using gill nets (18 nos.; mesh 18–32 mm), and bag nets (3 nos.; mesh 14–22 mm). The values a and b from LWRs ‐were found to be 0.007 and 2.977 for Eutropiichthys murius; 0.003 and 3.001 for Coilia reynaldi; 0.009 and 3.010 for Johnius gangeticus.  相似文献
