This study reports the length–weight relationships (LWR) of 20 fish species from the Pahang River, Maran district, Pahang, Malaysia. The river supplies fishes mainly for local consumption and is a principal body of water for freshwater aquaculture in Malaysia. A total of 12 LWR of fishes were unknown to FishBase, and five new maximum lengths of fishes were identified from the study.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWR) were estimated for seven fish species inhabiting the intertidal mudflats in the Marajó Bay, northern Brazil. A total of 514 specimens were collected quarterly between November 1994 and December 1995 using a beach seine (5 mm mesh size between opposite knots). Slope b of the LWR varied between 2.93 and 3.11, with a mean of 3.02. This study represents the first reference on LWRs for seven species and a new maximum length record for one of these species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWR) were estimated for 17 species and total length at first maturity (L50) for three species of freshwater fishes from the Miranda River, southern Pantanal, Brazil. The b values were compared for some species in the Paraguay River basin with the northern (Cuiabá River) part of the basin; differences in length–weight relationships were significantly different for Pseudoplatystoma corruscans, P. reticulatum (syn. P. fasciatum). First references on L50 and LWR are presented for two and eight fish species, respectively, as well as the new maximum total length for two species.  相似文献

Length‐weight (LWR) and length‐length (LLR) relationships were estimated for 20 species and lengths at first maturity (L50) for six species of freshwater fishes caught in the Salto Santiago Reservoir, Iguaçu River Basin, Brazil. In nine species significant differences were found in the LWR between sexes. Average b‐value for species with no differences between sexes in LWR was 3.12 (SE = ±0.05). Average b‐value in LLR was 0.823. First references on LWRs and L50 are presented for 13 and four fish species, respectively, as well as the new maximum total lengths for eight species.  相似文献

The present study provides length‐weight (LWR) and total length‐standard length (LLR) relationships for 16 freshwater fish species collected in coastal rivers of the northern Brazilian, state of Amapá in 2015. Fishes were caught in heterogenic environments like ponds, stream and river channel with sieve and trawl. As result, we present novel information of LWR and LLR for 11 and 15 species, respectively. Maximum values (first values or new maximum values) of TL, SL and WT are presented for 14, 12 and 15 species, respectively.  相似文献

The study presents length–weight relationships (LWR) and length–length relationships (LLR) for 23 fish species captured in the Porto Primavera Reservoir, Upper Paraná River. Seventeen of the LWRs and 20 of the LLRs are reported for the first time. This study reports the length–weight relationships (LWR) of 15 fish species from Tembeling River, Pahang, Malaysia. The river flows adjacent to the National Park, Pahang, and supplies fishes for local consumption. In addition, this river also functions as a main water body for protection and breeding of commercial fish species. Length‐weight relationship (LWR) was estimated for three fish species from the northern coast of Yucatan peninsula in the Gulf of Mexico. All specimens were monthly collected from September 2015 to October 2016 by recreational fishing (handlining). A total of 408 individuals (15 Calamus campechanus, 9 Opsanus beta and 384 Sphoeroides nephelus) were sampled and analyzed. Information regarding LWR data for one of these species were not yet available in FishBase database, two of them have limited data and a new record of maximum length is presented.  相似文献

This paper presents length–weight relationships (LWR) for 11 freshwater fish species from the Sapucaí‐Mirim River, a tributary of the Grande River basin, São Paulo, Brazil. The specimens were captured in quarterly samplings between March 2011 and December 2014, using gillnets of mesh size: 1.5–9.0 cm between knots. This study describes the length–weight relationship (LWR) of Pseudophoxinus alii from the Yamansaz Lake, a coastal freshwater lake in Antalya, Turkey. A total of 105 specimens were obtained using a variety of nets between April 2007 and March 2008. Total lengths ranged from 3.4 to 14.3 cm. The length–weight relationship showed a positive allometric growth (b = 3.012; R2 = 0.988). The study presents the first reference on LWR for this threatened species. The results also indicate a new maximum total length not previously reported in the international literature.  相似文献

This paper provides the length–weight relationships of three fish species from the middle and lower reaches of the Jinsha River, China. Samples were obtained seasonally during 2013~2016 using fishing gear (drift gillnets and di long) and electroshock fishing techniques (backpack electrofishing control unit powered by 12 V). For each species, the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. This study provides new length‒weight (LWR) and length‒length relationships (LLR) for 25 indigenous fish species from Xingu River basin. Overall specimens were collected in different aquatic habitats in the Xingu River basin in quarterly collections between 2012 and 2018. The collections were carried out using distinct fishing gears, such as gill nets (20 to 180 mm mesh), seines (3 mm mesh), sieves (1 mm mesh), and casting nets (20 to 60 mm mesh). The present study shows the LWRs for 25 species, and the LLRs for 23 species. In addition, presents the new maximum total lengths for 20 species.  相似文献

The present study describes the length-weight (LWR) and length-length (LLR) relationships for three indigenous fish species from the Qingshui River, southwestern China. Fishes were collected by electrofishing in May 2015 in the middle Qingshui River. Total length (TL), standard length (SL) and fork length (FL) were measured to the nearest 0.1 cm with a digital calliper and weight (W) was determined with an electronic balance to an accuracy of 0.01 g.
