We investigated the nutritional effects of both food quantity and quality on Brachionus plicatilis. Decomposition of particulate and dissolved organic matter by rotifer digestive enzymes play a crucial role in rotifer nutrition. Among other enzymes, rotifers produce phosphatases, non‐specific enzymes that allow for the release of orthophosphate from a variety of organic phosphorus compounds. Phosphatase saturation was measured in B. plicatilis homogenates using the spectrofluorimetric method. We examined population growth rate, reproduction and phosphatase activity in the homogenate of rotifers (PARH) fed by nutrient‐replete algal food supplied at different quantities. Population growth rate, number of eggs per individual and PARH were affected by food quantity. Growth rate and number of eggs per individual significantly increased in rotifers fed by food supplied at the highest quantity. The highest population growth rate was reached by rotifers fed by nutrient‐replete food, while it did not significantly differ between rotifers fed on nitrogen (N)‐depleted and phosphorus (P)‐depleted food. The number of eggs per individual was more affected by N than P supply. PARH and rotifer RNA content were not influenced by different food quality. The results indicate that B. plicatilis is not able to regulate its digestive apparatus in terms of efficiently getting access to essential nutrients when scarce, but do this when nutrient‐replete food is available in different quantity. The amounts of high-mobility-group proteins (HMG) 1 and 2 in different mouse T-cell populations are studied. It is shown that the quantity of HMG 1 and 2 is different in functionally distinct T-cells. The level of these proteins in thymus cells is higher than in cortisone-resistant thymocytes and peripheral T-cells; it increases in the cytotoxic cells generated in mixed lymphocyte culture. The quantity of HMG is negligible in memory T-cells and increases when the latter cells are stimulated again. The differences found in the levels of HMG 1 and 2 could be related to the rate of cell proliferation and to the changes in chromatin structure at each functional stage of differentiating T-cells.  相似文献

以四川省南充市金城山的淫羊藿为研究对象,对小檗科淫羊藿产果数量,种子生产和种子质量与生境的关系进行了研究。研究表明:不同生境的淫羊藿植株高度和花序长度不同,单株结果率也不同,单果产种量差异较小,出种量一般在1~8粒之间,但每个生境单果主要出种量不同。对千粒重和不同果枝结果率单因素方差分析表明,不同生境的淫羊藿种子千粒重有显著差异,不同生境的淫羊藿植株的主次果枝结果率也有显著差异。不同生境中的淫羊藿果实的虫食率也不同。淫羊藿种子的低种子数,小粒种子,而不同生境的结实率虽有差异,但是总体偏低,是导致淫羊藿种子难以收集的主要内因,也导致种群受干扰后不易恢复。  相似文献

本文研究了富钒酵母对多刺裸腹蚤的寿命、存活率和生殖量的影响。结果表明: 不同钒浓度下富钒酵母组多刺裸腹蚤的平均寿命均长于相对应的无机钒组多刺裸腹蚤, 在相同钒浓度下, 富钒酵母和无机钒对多刺裸腹蚤的存活率和生殖量的影响差异更大, 富钒酵母比无机钒对多刺裸腹蚤的毒性要低。  相似文献

The mechanism of action on rabbit red cells of Treponema hyodysenteriae hemolysin was studied using volume analysis and release of hemoglobin. While fixation of the hemolysin on the erythrocytes is temperature independent, it appears that hemolysis is temperature dependent. The kinetics of hemolysis proceed according to a sigmoid curve characterized by a prelytic lag. The duration of the prelytic lag varies inversely with the quantity of hemolysin but the rate and the maximum value of hemolysis are directly proportional to the quantity of hemolysin. The effect of sucrose and trypan blue on the hemolysin and the red cells suggest that erythrocyte lysis is likely to be induced by the hemolysin in a way different from that known for other hemolytic agents.  相似文献

在大田对18个品种98-10-34、PI-矮、千斤早、XZ1三代、AmigoF3、98-10-30、98-10-35、Tm44、98-10-9、Amigo、XZ13三代、98-10-32、AmigoF2、AmigoF4、PI-高、XZ13母本、陕229及Largo进行耐害性测定,对小麦的感蚜量做了系统调查,分别分析各品种耐害补偿功能及自然感蚜特征之间的关系。结果显示:品种Tm44、AmigoF3、Amigo、AmigoF2、AmigoF4和98-10-9虽然自然感蚜率比较高,但与同类相比减产率却不高;品种Largo、98-10-32、陕229、98-10-35、XZ13母本、PI-高和XZ1三代自然感蚜率比较低,而且其减产率也相对较低;品种PI-矮不仅自然感蚜率高,减产率也排名第二;98-10-34为明显感虫品种,还有98-10-30、XZ13三代和千斤早因为虽然感蚜率最小,但减产率相对较高,所以也是感虫品种。采用室内网罩饲养实验系统研究4个小麦品种陕229、98-10-9、Tm44和largo对麦长管蚜Macrosiphum avenae(Fabricius)生命周期及生殖情况等的影响,同时通过组建不用品种上麦长管蚜繁殖特征生命表,从量的角度揭示小麦品种抗性与麦长管蚜增长之间的关系。结果表明:不同小麦品种对麦长管蚜的存活率,发育历期和净增值率的影响明显不同,品种间抗蚜性存在显著差异。  相似文献

用盘拍法调查褐飞虱虫量的查获率仅在30%~70%之间,查获率的高低因虫口密度、水稻生育期及盘面涂抹粘胶与否而异。在所拟会的24个查获率回归方程中,极大部分的拟会效果是比较好的。当盘拍虫量在水试验范围以内时,代入相应的方程内,即能求出查获率,换算出实有虫数。  相似文献

Field studies on a Daphnia galeata population in the mesotrophic man-made lake Saidenbach show that the fecundity of the animals depends on individual size, water temperature and the food supply (absolute quantity, specific food supply, food quality). These different factors are subsumed in the ingestion rate (rate of individual food intake per unit time), which is of an integrative character. The fecundity plotted versus ingestion rate yields a graph with the shape of a saturation curve. Attention is drawn to the consequences in terms of variation in population size.  相似文献

The stoichiometric and kinetic details of transmitter-receptor interaction (the number of conformations and the rate constants of conformation changes) in synaptic transmission have been investigated analyzing postsynaptic membrane noises by the aid of the fluctuation-dissipation theorem of stochastic chemical kinetics. The main assumptions are the following: (i) the transmitter-receptor interaction is modelled by a closed compartment system (a special complex chemical reaction) of unknown length,- (ii) the quantity of transmitter is maintained at a constant level,- (iii) the conductance is a linear function of the conformation quantity vector.- The main conclusion is: the conductance spectral density function is determined by three qualitatively different factors: (i) the length of the compartment system,- (ii) the precise form of the conductance-conformation quantity vector,-(iii) the matrix of the reaction rate constants.  相似文献

Adaptation of asexual populations is driven by beneficial mutations and therefore the dynamics of this process, besides other factors, depends on the distribution of beneficial fitness effects. It is known that on uncorrelated fitness landscapes, this distribution can only be of three types: truncated, exponential and power law. We performed extensive stochastic simulations to study the adaptation dynamics on rugged fitness landscapes, and identified two quantities that can be used to distinguish the underlying distribution of beneficial fitness effects. The first quantity studied here is the fitness difference between successive mutations that spread in the population, which is found to decrease in the case of truncated distributions, remains nearly a constant for exponentially decaying distributions and increases when the fitness distribution decays as a power law. The second quantity of interest, namely, the rate of change of fitness with time also shows quantitatively different behaviour for different beneficial fitness distributions. The patterns displayed by the two aforementioned quantities are found to hold good for both low and high mutation rates. We discuss how these patterns can be exploited to determine the distribution of beneficial fitness effects in microbial experiments.  相似文献

Summary Aspects of the demography of Monhystera disjuncta were investigated at different temperatures (in agnotobiotic cultures) and in different feeding conditions (monoxenic cultures with different bacterial strains, and different densities in the feeding suspension with one strain). Embryonic development time, minimum generation time, egg deposition rate and adult longevity depend on temperature, quality and quantity of food offered. Body mass at maturity is an allometric function of food density. It is shown that a previously inferred selectivity in food uptake is an artifact of culture conditions. pH buffering and addition of sterols permit culture of the species on a wide variety of bacterial strains. M. disjuncta is less well adapted to take advantage of high food density than are nematodes from polysaprobic environments. The animals channel surplus energy intake into a larger body mass, without being able to increase their rate of population growth accordingly.  相似文献

为掌握园林常见蜘蛛对害虫的控制能力,在实验室条件下研究了不同发育期机敏异漏斗蛛Allagelena difficilis(Fox)对黑腹果蝇Drosophila melanogaster的捕食行为及其功能反应,并对雌、雄蛛捕食能力进行了比较。结果表明,机敏异漏斗蛛幼蛛和成蛛的捕食行为谱相似,均可分为靠近、奔向和试探、捕获、吸食、残体处理、清理附肢和休整,但具体行为稍有差异;对机敏异漏斗蛛雌性成蛛捕食黑腹果蝇的功能反应拟合,其结果符合HollingⅡ型方程:Na=1.003N/(1+0.002N),r2=0.98,其瞬间攻击率为0.95。雌蛛在未孕卵时其捕食量与雄性成蛛相近,但孕卵雌成蛛捕食量明显高于雄蛛。此结果可以为机敏异漏斗蛛的研究和利用提供依据。  相似文献

Dynamics of the total activity of genetic amylase systems was studied in ontogenesis of 102 Pekin ducks of different generations. Regularities are described showing the dependence of the detected changes on the growth rate of animals. The equations presented permit determining the amylolytic activity which is necessary to support the physiological regeneration and the growth rate. The time and quantity dependences are shown for changes in the amylase system activity in organs and blood with an increase in the live mass and mass of organs. Issuing from the data presented, possible mechanism of the organism growth control is discussed.  相似文献

Effects of food quality and quantity on consumers are neither independent nor interchangeable. Although consumer growth and reproduction show strong variation in relation to both food quality and quantity, the effects of food quality or food quantity have usually been studied in isolation. In two experiments, we studied the growth and reproduction in three filter-feeding freshwater zooplankton species, i.e. Daphnia galeata x hyalina, D. pulicaria and D. magna, on their algal food (Scenedesmus obliquus), varying in carbon to phosphorus (C∶P) ratios and quantities (concentrations). In the first experiment, we found a strong positive effect of the phosphorus content of food on growth of Daphnia, both in their early and late juvenile development. Variation in the relationship between the P-content of animals and their growth rate reflected interspecific differences in nutrient requirements. Although growth rates typically decreased as development neared maturation, this did not affect these species-specific couplings between growth rate and Daphnia P-content. In the second experiment, we examined the effects of food quality on Daphnia growth at different levels of food quantity. With the same decrease in P-content of food, species with higher estimated P-content at zero growth showed a larger increase in threshold food concentrations (i.e. food concentration sufficient to meet metabolic requirements but not growth). These results suggest that physiological processes such as maintenance and growth may in combination explain effects of food quality and quantity on consumers. Our study shows that differences in response to variation in food quality and quantity exist between species. As a consequence, species-specific effects of food quality on consumer growth will also determine how species deal with varying food levels, which has implications for resource-consumer interactions.  相似文献

用DNS法测木聚糖酶活力,分析测定条件对测定结果的影响。结果表明,在不同的条件下测定酶活力会得到不同的木聚糖酶活力测定值。其中,酶液用量、酶解反应的时间对测定结果的影响较大,酶液稀释度、DNS显色时间、DNS的用量,对测定结果也有一定的髟响。测定木聚糖酶活力的适宜条件为:酶液量/1%木聚糖液量1/9(V/V);酶解反应时间:10min;DNS用量2—2.5ml;DNS显色时间2—5min。  相似文献

A model of immune reaction is suggested, ahich takes into account the delay in the development of an immune response. The model depending on parameters values describes: an asymptotic decrease of antigene quantity, approach of its quantity towards constant value, periodic course of the illness, unlimited growth of the antigene quantity. It is shown that the course of the reaction essentially depends on the duration of delay. Parameters regions corresponding to different regimes are determined.  相似文献

Abstract. A comparison is made of the relative effectiveness of light quality and light quantity on the elongation growth of Sinapis alba hypocotyls. The results show that hypocotyl extension rate in plants which have not previously been exposed to light is controlled primarily by the prevailing photon fluence rate when the phytochrome photostationary state lies between ∼0.033 and ∼0.81. Below ∼0.033, changes in photostationary state also have a marked effect on extension rate. Elongation growth in light-adapted plants is controlled by both photon fluence rate and the spectral quality of the incident radiation at all photoequilibria. Photosynthesis can modify these responses but is not essential as a prior condition for a green plant to respond to changes in light quality and quantity.  相似文献
