珠芽是滴水珠(Pinellia cordata)的营养繁殖结构,为揭示滴水珠珠芽发育过程中的特征,该研究以野外采集材料进行盆栽观察试验,通过形态观察法和石蜡切片方法,探索滴水珠叶片和叶柄处珠芽发育过程中的形态学和解剖学结构特征。结果表明:滴水珠珠芽发育过程在形态上分为叶柄无现象时期、早期珠芽结构分化和珠芽膨大成熟时期三个时期;相应的解剖学发育时期为珠芽原基启动期和形成期、原基分化期和膨大成熟期四个阶段。叶片和叶柄珠芽起始细胞均由叶柄腹面表皮下层薄壁细胞组织脱分化形成,起始细胞不断分裂形成细胞团最后发育成珠芽原基;在原基分化期的特征是生长点形成,最终分化形成芽原基和鳞片叶;膨大成熟期的特征是珠芽结构不断生长,生长点侧生分化鳞片叶增多。叶片和叶柄处珠芽成熟脱落时期为灰色椭圆形结构,测得平均直径分别为(2.79±0.40)mm和(2.69±0.36)mm,外部有鳞片包裹,内部含大量营养物质。在环境适宜条件下,珠芽遇土萌发,萌发率达75%。这表明滴水珠珠芽与同属植物半夏珠芽发育过程差别不大,都是无性克隆营养繁殖体结构。  相似文献

通过形态学观察和石蜡切片方法研究了半夏[Pinellia ternata(Thunb.)Breit.]的珠芽发育过程,结果显示:半夏珠芽着生于叶柄的下部,起始于幼嫩叶柄的腹面最外轮维管束外周薄壁细胞;恢复分裂的薄壁细胞分裂形成珠芽原基细胞团,在原基生长突破叶柄表皮后分化形成具有生长点的珠芽结构,发育中的珠芽无根分化;珠芽的生长被动地终止于叶片衰老(倒苗),无明显的成熟发育过程。研究表明,半夏的珠芽是不定芽性质的无性繁殖结构,但在发育过程上明显区别于其它植物的珠芽发育。  相似文献

Gibberellin A1 (GA1), GA3 and GA4 inhibited the sprouting of nondormant bulbils of Chinese yam, Dioscorea opposita, where the effectiveness of the GAs was as follows: GA4>GA1+GA3. Uniconazole and prohexadione, plant growth retardants, promoted the sprouting of half-dormant bulbils. By contrast, these retardants inhibited the sprouting of nondormant bulbils. Gibberellin A3 (GA3) and A4 (GA4) which were applied to the stems of the sprouted bulbils, promoted stem elongation, but GAs applied to the bulbous parts inhibited this process. The effectiveness of the GAs on stem elongation was as follows: GA3+GA4 for the promotion and GA4 > GA3 for the inhibition. Uniconazole applied to the stem inhibited the stem elongation of the sprouted bulbils. These results suggest the possible involvement of endogenous GAs in the induction and maintenance of bulbil dormancy of D. opposita, as well as in the bulbil sprouting and subsequent stem elongation.  相似文献

Bulbils are small aerial rosettes that occur on the flowering stalks of semelparous Agave plants and in related families, and that are capable of acting as clones of the parent plant. We hypothesized that bulbil formation was inversely related to fruiting success in the flowering stalk, and we explored this hypothesis in A. macroacantha, a species from South-Central Mexico. Forty randomly chosen plants were divided amongst three treatments: (a) elimination of all floral buds, (b) exclusion of pollinators, and (c) control. We also studied 22 plants in which the flowering stalk had been felled by goat grazing. Between September and November 1991 we kept a record of the numbers of bulbils and capsules produced in each flowering stalk. Significant (P<0.0001) differences between treatments were found in the proportion of plants hearing capsules and bearing bulbils. The control treatment had the highest proportion of plants producing capsules, treatment a had the highest proportion of individuals bearing bulbils, while treatment b showed an intermediate response. In the goat-grazed group, 45% of the plants failed to produce any propagative structure after the stalk was cut, and half of all plants produced bulbils on the remaining stump. A significant inverse relationship between the numbers of capsules and the numbers of bulbils per plant was found for the three randomly assigned treatments. Our results suggest that once the production of the flowering stalk has been triggered and the death of the rosette is irreversible, bulbils may act as an insurance mechanism that increases the probability of successful reproduction of the genet.  相似文献

Abstract

Experimental study of Pohlia populations that regularly produce axillary bulbils in Britain has shown that there are seven species present. The distinguishing bulbil characters of field populations of each species are retained when the plants are cultivated under uniform conditions, and can be used as a valid taxonomic criterion. Variation in bulbil morphology within and between populations of P. proligera is due to a combination of genetic, environmental and developmental variation. Bulbils show considerable phenotypic plasticity in P. drummondii but in the other five species studied variation is largely or entirely developmen tal.  相似文献

Bulbil formation in Curculigo orchioides is followed by asynchronous germination. The effect of alar and CCC incorporated in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium has been studied on bulbil induction from leaf explants and subsequent germination of bulbils. MS medium contained 1 mg/l BA and 0.1 mg/l morphactin for bulbil induction while germination medium contained 1 mg/l gibberrelic acid and both the media contained alar or CCC (0.5–5.0 mg/l). Growth retardants markedly reduces the bulbil formation, yield and fresh weight of bulbils. Incorporation of retardants resulted in 60% germination inhibition, thereby prolonging the storage conditions.  相似文献

Reproductive patterns in ten species of Gagea Salisb. were compared by counts and measurements of bulbs, bulbils and flowers in large cohorts including all life stages. Two types of bulbils were found: taxa with “type I bulbils” start to develop a single to several bulbils as soon as the replacement bulb has reached a certain diameter and then continue to form them indefinitely throughout the life of the plant. “Type II bulbils” are only temporarily produced in immature, non-flowering plants of some species, but not in fully grown, flowering individuals, a phenomenon termed “reproductive switch”. Patterns of bulbil formation are species-specific: G. davlianidzeae, G. nigra, G. peduncularis, G. pratensis, and G. spathacea produce only type I bulbils; G. angelae, G. fedschenkoana and G. lutea develop only type II bulbils. Both bulbil types occur simultaneously in G. fragifera and G. villosa. The quantitative investigations demonstrate the existence of species-specific thresholds for the development of bulbils as well as flowers. Compared to the adult volume of the replacement bulb (where 90% of all plants flower), both types of bulbils have usually low thresholds: 0–5% (type I, all but one species) and 3–13% (type II). Inflorescences develop if plants attain between 38 and 60% of the adult bulb volume. Minor changes in patterns of bulbil formation and thresholds for their development may ensure survival of highly sterile taxa (e.g. G. spathacea, G. fragifera). This, in turn, can facilitate speciation in the genus driven by both hybridization and polyploidization.  相似文献

The anamorphic fungus Synchaetomella lunatospora gen. et sp. nov. is described from a culture isolated from leaf litter in Singapore. The genus is characterized by the production of synnematous conidiomata with brown stipes, phialidic conidiogenesis with terminal and acropleurogenous conidiogenous cells, and falcate, 1-septate conidia, aggregating in white, mucilaginous heads. Its phylogenetic relationships, inferred from the partial nuclear small ribosomal subunit (18S) sequence, are with the coelomycetous genera Sphaerographium, Chaetomella, and Hainesia. However, the order and family affinities of this group are unclear.  相似文献

Background and Aims

Bulbils serve as a means of vegetative reproduction and of dispersal for many plants; this latter aspect making them analogous to seeds. However, germination of bulbils may differ considerably from seeds due to dissimilar anatomical structures and perhaps environmental cue perception. The few laboratory studies done on bulbils suggest that their germination is similar to that of seeds in the same habitats and to vegetative buds of winter-dormant plants. The present study is the first to examine how bulbil germination is controlled in nature in relation to dispersal (before vs. after winter of the same cohort) and to ambient temperatures.

Methods

Under laboratory conditions, temperature and light requirements for root and shoot emergences from bulbils of Dioscorea polystachya collected in September, 2005, February, 2006 (produced in 2005) and July, 2006 were determined. Effects of cold stratification and dry storage for releasing dormancy were tested on September and July bulbils. The phenology of dormancy release and of root and shoot emergences and the persistence of bulbils in soil were followed over time under field conditions.

Key Results

Although a low percentage of bulbils collected in July or in September produced roots, but no shoots, in the laboratory and field, these roots died within approx. 1 month. Regardless of collection date, cold stratification markedly increased root and shoot emergences. Bulbils sown outdoors in October produced roots and shoots the following March and April, respectively. The soil bulbil bank is short lived.

Conclusions

Bulbils of D. polystachya are similar to seeds of many temperate plants being mostly dormant when dispersed in summer or autumn and overcoming dormancy with cold stratification during winter. Adaptively, bulbil germination primarily occurs in spring at the beginning of a favourable period for survivorship and growth.  相似文献

The growth, duplication and fate of multikaryotic hyphae bearing true clamp connections, as derived from compatible matings of Schizophyllum commune, were studied by phase contrast microscopy. The nuclei (N) of multikaryotic apices maintained a near central position during hyphal growth. True clamp connection formation occurred with near synchronous mitosis followed by septal synthesis across the clamp neck and main hyphal axis. Nuclear progeny after mitosis in a hexakaryon included 6 N in the apex, 1 N in the clamp and 5 N in the penultimate cell; the solitary nucleus in the clamp later entered the penultimate cell. Similar events occurred for clamp connection formation and mitosis in the trikaryon, quadrikaryon or pentakaryon, whether in the apex or primary branches. Nuclear content of the multikaryotic apex (2 N through 10 N) had no apparent effect on the rate of individual hyphal growth. Reduction of the nuclear number in a trikaryon occurred by long-term entrappment of a solitary nucleus in the clamp and subsequent outgrowth of the dikaryotic penultimate cell. Occasionally, more than one nucleus became entrapped in the clamp cell. The ephemeral nature of the multikaryon was indicated by the fact that older cultures appeared to be exclusively dikaryotic hyphae at the colony periphery.  相似文献

As yam bulbils (Dioscorea batatas Decne.) grow on the motherplants, dormancy of the bulbils develops gradually. This isevidenced by the fact that the sproutability of bulbils decreasedin proportion to their sizes, 2–4 mm to 8–12 mmin diameter when bulbils are detached and sown in Petri dishes.This decreasing sproutability was seen until the stratificationat 5°C for dormancy release was completed. During the growth process of attached bulbils, the contentsof batatasins I and II increased markedly per surface area andper bulbil although on a fresh weight basis they remained constant.The increases of batatasin III and abscisic acid (ABA) weremore striking and were evident in all comparisons. These results corresponded to different localization of batatasinsand ABA in bulbil issues. All of 3 batatasins were localizedin the outermost layers of the bulbils, whereas ABA was distributedevenly throughout their tissues. Abstract

The taxonomy of Anomobryum julaceum and allied species with axillary bulbils in Europe and Asia is reviewed. A. concinnatum is regarded as a distinct species, occurring in W. and C. Europe, SW., N. and C. Asia and N. America. A. bavaricum has often been confused with A. concinnatum, but differs in its more numerous, small, reddish bulbils and in leaf shape; it is known only from the European Alps. The Asian A. nitidum also has numerous small reddish bulbils but it differs from A. bavaricum in leaf shape and bulbil form. A lectotype is designated for A. nitidum, of which A. gemmigerum and other nominal taxa are regarded as synonyms. Information is presented on geographical ranges and habitats of the four valid species.  相似文献

以野生淡黄花百合(Lilium sulphureum)为实验材料,通过形态学观察、石蜡切片方法对珠芽的发生规律、发育过程中的形态学变化及解剖结构特征进行了研究,以阐明淡黄花百合珠芽繁殖的生物学机制。结果显示:淡黄花百合的珠芽形成于地上茎叶腋处叶柄的近基部位置,由叶柄表皮以内数层薄壁细胞不断分裂和分化形成;珠芽的发育过程可划分为启动期、膨大期和成熟期三个时期。成熟珠芽外观上成圆形或椭圆形,珠芽中部的薄壁细胞含有大量淀粉颗粒。淡黄花百合的珠芽具有很高的萌发率(90%以上)。研究表明,珠芽营养繁殖是其生态适应的一种重要机制。  相似文献

该研究选用的3种舞花姜属植物中,毛舞花姜(Globba barthei)和双翅舞花姜(G. schomburgkii)自然条件下开花不结实,以珠芽进行繁殖;异果舞花姜(G. racemosa)则同时以种子和珠芽进行繁殖。在人工栽培条件下,高养分处理显著增加毛舞花姜的珠芽干重((1.11±0.10) g vs. (3.08±0.69) g,p=0.010 7)、珠芽数量((30.58±2.92) vs. (74.74±9.73),p=0.000 4)、珠芽大小((10.5±1.48) mg vs. (53.50±11.42) mg,p=0.001 5)、植株营养体重((3.99±0.23) g vs. (9.67±1.17) g,p=0.000 2)和双翅舞花姜的珠芽数量((51.74±3.64) vs. (108.71±21.52),p=0.018 1)。不同养分条件下两种舞花姜的开花数量无显著差异。人工去除珠芽、花对两种舞花姜植株当年生花和珠芽的数量无显著影响(p<0.05)。自然条件下异果舞花姜不同居群间珠芽大小、珠芽数、珠芽重、果实重、种子数和营养体重等均存在极显著差异(p<0.001)。异果舞花姜各居群植株珠芽数和营养体重(r=0.901,p<0.05)、珠芽重和珠芽大小 (r=0.849,p<0.05) 呈显著正相关;果实重和种子数(r=0.998,p<0.05) 呈显著正相关。土壤因子主成分分析表明前3个主成分提供的信息量分别为50.575%、18.204% 和11.883%,其中第一主成分中的全氮(0.959)、速效氮(0.885)和有机质(0.821)负荷量最大,第二主成分中土壤速效磷(0.824)负荷量最大。植株营养体重和土壤速效磷极显著正相关(r=0.906,p<0.01),珠芽大小与全氮(r=0.798)、速效氮(r=0.780)和有机质(r=0.821)均呈显著正相关(p<0.05)。果实重和种子数与土壤因子相关性不显著(p<0.05)。3种舞花姜的无性繁殖器官更易受到养分供应的影响,有性繁殖器官对养分供应变化响应不显著,有性和无性繁殖之间似不存在补偿关系。  相似文献

Summary This is a report of a light and electron microscopic study of mitosis in the basidiomycetous fungusTulasnella araneosa. The study employs serial section analyses of nuclei preselected with fluorescence microscopy. It is the first such study of nuclear division in theTulasnellaceae and the first of conjugately dividing nuclei in basidiomycetous hyphal segments lacking clamp connections. Mitosis inT. araneosa is unusual in that the spindle pole body (SPB) develops asymmetrically; the SPB middle piece is large and transversely curved; and the nuclear envelopes of adjacent late anaphase nuclei fuse. Analyses of mitotic characteristics used for phylogenetic purposes indicate that, of the many characters available, only SPB characteristics are presently valuable. Available evidence indicates that the SPB ofT. araneosa is more different from that ofUredinales than it is from representatives of the other four orders ofBasidiomycotina that have been thoroughly studied.  相似文献

To obtain a homothallic mutant in Lentinula edodes, basidiospores derived from the common Bmut dikaryon (A1B1mut × A2B1mut) were treated with UV irradiation. Of a total of approximately 5000 monosporous cultures recovered, a single basidiospore isolate was found to produce the hyphae bearing clamp connections without mating. This mutant strain could form fruit bodies, and all its single basidiospore isolates developed into colonies with clamp connections. Such homothallic behaviors were transmitted from the mutant strain to the next generation. During the germination and following hyphal elongation in a single basidiospore of mutant strain, clamp connections were clearly detected in multicellular hyphae, which contained two nuclei in each cell. Their clamp connections were morphologically variable, viz., pseudo, abnormal, and true clamps. Amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) profiles among the basidiospore isolates of mutant strain were identical, indicating that the mutant strain produced isogenic basidiospore progeny. Titanotrichum oldhamii (a monotypic genus from Taiwan, Okinawa, and adjacent regions of China) has inflorescences bearing either showy yellow flowers or asexual bulbils. Asexual reproduction by bulbils is important in natural populations, and bulbil production increases in August and September at the end of the flowering season (which runs from June to the end of September). The bulbils are small (~1-2.5 mm long) and numerous. They consist of a small portion of stem (bract-stem) topped by opposite storage bracts that enclose a minute apical meristem. A secondary root develops from the side of the bract-stem. The floral meristem of T. oldhamii has three possible fates: (1) bulbil formation, (2) flower formation, or (3) bracteose proliferation. Bracteose proliferation rarely occurs and appears to be a developmental transition between the bulbiliferous and racemose inflorescence forms. It is strongly reminiscent of the floricaula and squamosa mutants of Antirrhinum. In the bulbiliferous form a single floral primordium, which would normally produce one flower, gives rise to ~50-70 bulbils by repeated subdivision of the meristem. This form of bulbil production appears to be unique to Titanotrichum. Occasionally a floral meristem divides, but the subdivision forms multiflowered units of up to four flowers rather than bulbils, suggesting that meristem fate is reversible up to the first or second meristem subdivision. In Titanotrichum, therefore, primordium fate is apparently not determined at inception but becomes irreversibly determined shortly after the appearance of developmental characteristics of the floral or bulbil pathway.  相似文献

Sedum bulbiferum forms bulbils at superterranean nodes under long-day conditions, and the detached bulbils sprout after exposure to short-days [1]. When gibberellic acid was applied to the mother plant at the start of the long-day induction period, the number of bulbils formed increased slightly and these bulbils sprouted on incubation in the dark but not under short days of continuous light. However, when gibberellic acid was applied directly to detached bulbils during incubation, the short-day requirement for sprouting was conserved. Gibberellic acid application to the mother plants enhanced sprouting ability of detached bulbils when incubated under illumination with blue, green or far-red light. However, presence of gibberellic acid during bulbil exposure to light did not induced marked enhancement in sprouting under blue, green of far-red light. Thus, gibberellic acid application to the mother plant modified light and photoperiodic requirements for the sprouting of detached bulbils of S. bulbiferum.  相似文献

以盾叶薯蓣(Dioscoreazingiberensis)试管植株为材料,选取带芽茎段为外植体,转接到株芽诱导培养基上15d后,原茎段基部开始产生株芽突起,30d后每一茎段可产生3-5个已生根的株芽,株芽诱导率为100%,株芽诱导数为180个/40株,其移栽成活率可达90%以上。株芽形成的适宜培养条件:温度为26±2℃,光照时间14hd-1,光照强度为1500-2000lx;适宜培养基组成为:MS+6-BA4.0mgL-1+IBA1.0mgL-1+蔗糖6%-9%+活性炭0.5%+琼脂7%。离体诱导的盾叶薯蓣试管株芽能直接发育为新植株,为盾叶薯蓣的快繁提供了一种新的方法。  相似文献
