Mitsugumin 29 (MG29) is a transmembrane protein that is normally found in the triad junction of skeletal muscle. Our previous studies have shown that targeted deletion of rag29 from the skeletal muscle resulted in abnormality of the triad junction structure, and also increased susceptibility to muscle fatigue. To elucidate the basis of these effects, we investigated the properties of Ca^2 uptake and -release in toxin-skinned Extensor Digitorium Longus (EDL) muscle fibers from control and rag29 knockout mice. Compared with the control muscle, submaximal Ca^2 uptake into the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) was slower and the storage of Ca^2 inside the SR was less in the mutant muscle, due to increased leakage process of Ca^2 movement across the SR. The leakage pathway is associated with the increased sensitivity of Ca^2 /caffeine -induced Ca^2 release to myoplasmic Ca^2 . Therefore, the increased fatigability of mutant EDL muscles can result from a combination of a slowing of Ca^2 uptake, modification of Ca^2 -induced Ca^2 release (CICR), and a reduction in total SR Ca^2 content.  相似文献

 The effects of 14 days of space flight on the glucose transporter protein (GLUT-4) were studied in the plantaris muscle of growing 9-week-old, male Sprague Dawley rats. The rats were randomly separated into five groups: pre-flight vivarium ground controls (PF-VC) sacrificed approximately 2 h after launch; flight groups sacrificed either approximately 5 h (F-R0) or 9 days (F-R9) after the return from space; and synchronous ground controls (SC-R0 and SC-R9) sacrificed at the same time as the respective flight groups. The flight groups F-R0 and F-R9 were exposed to micro-gravity for 14 days in the Spacelab module located in the cargo bay of the shuttle transport system – 58 of the manned Space Shuttle for the NASA mission named ”Spacelab Life Sciences 2”. Body weight and plantaris weight of SC-R0 and F-R0 were significantly higher than those of PF-VC. Neither body weight nor plantaris muscle weight in either group had changed 9 days after the return from space. As a result, body weight and plantaris muscle weight did not differ between the flight and synchronous control groups at any of the time points investigated. The GLUT-4 content (cpm/μg membrane protein) in the plantaris muscle did not show any significant change in response to 14 days of space flight or 9 days after return. Similarly, citrate synthase activity did not change during the course of the space flight or the recovery period. These results suggest that 14 days of space flight does not affect muscle mass or GLUT-4 content of the fast-twitch plantaris muscle in the rat. Aims Our objectives were to study the spatial distribution of soil organic carbon (SOC) density and its influencing factors in the main forest ecosystems in Guangxi. Methods A total of 345 sample plots were established in Guangxi, and the size of each plot was 50 m × 20 m. Based on the forest resource inventory data and field investigation, the SOC storage of the main forests in Guangxi was estimated. Geostatistics was applied to analyze the spatial pattern of SOC density and the main influencing factors on SOC density were also explored by principal component analysis and stepwise regression. Important findings The total SOC storage in the main forests in Guangxi was 1 686.88 Tg, and the mean SOC density was 124.70 Mg•hm2, which is lower than that of China. The best fitted semivariogram model of SOC density was exponential model, and the spatial autocorrelation was medium. The contour map based on Kriging indicated that northeastern Guangxi had high SOC density and northwestern Guangxi had low SOC density, which corresponded to high SOC density in non-karst region and low SOC density in karst region. The SOC density followed the sequence of bamboo forest > deciduous broadleaf forest > warm coniferous forest > mixed evergreen and deciduous broadleaf forest > evergreen broadleaf forest, and yellow soil > red soil >lateritic red soil > limestone soil. The dominant environment factors affecting SOC density included soil depth, longitude, latitude, and altitude. Soil depth was the most influential factor, which was mainly attributed to the karst landscape.  相似文献

Summary. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of pegylated interferon-alpha (PEG-IFN-α) on the plasma citrulline/arginine ratio, regarded as an index of nitric oxide (NO) synthesis, in patients with high-risk melanoma. Forty patients were randomly assigned to either PEG-IFN-α treatment (n = 22) or to observation only (control group, n = 18). The treatment group received 6 μg PEG-IFN-α/kg once a week during 8 weeks, followed by a maintenance dose of 3 μg/kg/wk. Blood was collected at different time points, plasma concentrations of citrulline and arginine were measured and the ratio of citrulline/arginine was calculated. Patients treated with PEG-IFN-α showed a significant decrease in the concentrations of citrulline and in the citrulline/arginine ratio during the whole study period, both compared to baseline values and to the control group. The data suggest that therapy with PEG-IFN-α results in a marked decrease in the synthesis of NO in melanoma patients.  相似文献

Root density distribution of plants is a major Indicator of competition between plants and determines resource capture from the solh This experiment was conducted in 2005 at Anyang, located in the Yellow River region, Henan Province, China. Three cotton (Gossyplum hlrsutum L.) cultivars were chosen: hybrid Btcultlvar CRI46, conventional Btcultlvars CRI44 and CRI45. Six planting densities were designed, ranging from 1.5 to 12.0 plants/m^2. Root parameters such as surface area, diameter and length were analyzed by using the DT-SCAN Image analysis method. The root length density (RLD), root average diameter and root area Index (RAI), root surface area per unit land area, were studied. The results showed that RLD and RAI differed between genotypes; hybrid CRI46 had significantly higher (P 〈0.05) RLD and RAI values than conventlonal cultlvars, especially under low planting densities, less than 3.0 plants/m^2. The root area index (RAI) of hybrid CRI46 was 61% higher than of CRI44 and CRI45 at the flowering stage. The RLD and RAI were also significantly different (P = 0.000) between planting densities. The depth distribution of RAI showed that at Increasing planting densities RAI was Increasingly distributed in the soil layers below 50 cm. The RAI of hybrid CRI46 was for all planting densities, obviously higher than other cultivars during the flowering and boll stages. It was concluded that the hybrid had a strong advantage in root maintenance preventing premature senescence of roots. The root diameter of hybrid CRI46 had a genetically higher root diameter at planting densities lower than 6.0 plants/m^2. Good associations were found between yield and RAI In different stages. The optimum planting density ranged from 4.50 plants/m^2 to 6.75 plants/m^2 for conventional cultlvars and around 4.0-5.0 plants/m^2 for hybrids.  相似文献

Aims Forest carbon storage in Nei Mongol plays a significant role in national terrestrial carbon budget due to its large area in China. Our objectives were to estimate the carbon storage in the forest ecosystems in Nei Mongol and to quantify its spatial pattern. Methods Field survey and sampling were conducted at 137 sites that distributed evenly across the forest types in the study region. At each site, the ecosystem carbon density was estimated thorough sampling and measuring different pools of soil (0 100 cm) and vegetation, including biomass of tree, grass, shrub, and litter. Regional carbon storage was calculated with the estimated carbon density for each forest type. Important findings Carbon storage of vegetation layer in forests in Nei Mongol was 787.8 Tg C, with the biomass of tree, litter, herbaceous and shrub accounting for 93.5%, 3.0%, 2.7% and 0.8%, respectively. Carbon density of vegetation layer was 40.4 t•hm2, with 35.6 t•hm2 in trees, 2.9 t•hm2 in litter, 1.2 t•hm2 in herbaceous and 0.6 t•hm2 in shrubs. In comparison, carbon storage of soil layer in forests in Nei Mongol was 2 449.6 Tg C, with 79.8% distributed in the first 30 cm. Carbon density of soil layer was 144.4 t•hm2. Carbon storage of forest ecosystem in Nei Mongol was 3 237.4 Tg C, with vegetation and soil accounting for 24.3% and 75.7%, respectively. Carbon density of forest ecosystems in Nei Mongol was 184.5 t•hm2. Carbon density of soil layer was positively correlated with that of vegetation layer. Spatially, both carbon storage and carbon density were higher in the eastern area, where the climate is more humid. Forest reserves and artificial afforestations can significantly improve the capacity of regional carbon sink.  相似文献

The alterations of cardiac and lymphocyte β-adrenoceptors were observed in the rats with chronic heart failure produced by constriction of both abdominal aorta and renal artery. The results showed that β1-adrenocep-tor density and mRNA levels were increased, whereas these levels remained unchanged for β2 The concentration-contractile response curve for isoproterenol was shifted to the right in cardiac atrium, whereas the concentration-cAMP accumulation response curve for isoproterenol in myocardium was not changed. The number of β-adrenoceptors in blood lymphocyte was markedly reduced. Thus in the heart-failure rats the density of cardiac β-adrenoceptor was increased accompanying reduced β-adrenoceptor-mediated positive inotropic response, suggesting a post adenylate cyclase dys-function or impaired contractile components. In contrast, the alteration of β-adrenoceptor in lymphocyte is consistent with the reduced β-adrenoceptor-mediated inotropic response in heart.  相似文献

Synaptic differentiation among crustacean phasic motoneurons was investigated by characterizing the synaptic output and nerve terminal morphology of the two axons to the adductor exopodite muscle in the crayfish uropod. The muscle is of the fast type with short sarcomeres (2–3 μm) and a low thin to thick filament number (6:1). On single muscle fibers, excitatory postsynaptic potentials generated by the large-diameter axon are significantly larger than those by the small-diameter axon suggesting a presynaptic origin for these differences. Nerve terminals arising from these two axons have typical phasic features, filiform shape and a low (6–8%) mitochondrial density. Synaptic contacts are similar in size between the two axons as is the length and number of active zone dense bars at these synapses. The large-diameter axon, however, exhibits a twofold larger area of nerve terminal than the small-diameter axon resulting in a higher density of synapses per muscle fiber. We investigated the effects of homocysteine (Hcy) and oxidized low density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) on DNA methylation in the promoter region of the estrogen receptor α (ERos) gene,and its potentialmechanism in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis.Cultured smooth muscle cells (SMCs) of humans weretreated by Hcy and ox-LDL with different concentrations for different periods of time.The DNA methylationstatus was assayed by nested methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction,the lipids that accumulated inthe SMCs and foam cell formations were examined with Oil red O staining.The proliferation of SMCs wasassayed by the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide method.The results showedthat ox-LDL in moderate concentrations (10-40 mg/L) induced de novo methylation in the promoter regionof the ERα gene of SMCs.However,high concentrations (50 mg/L) of ox-LDL,resulted in demethylation ofERα.The Hcy treatment resulted in de novo methylation in the promoter region of the ERα gene with aconcentration- and treating time-dependent manner,and a dose-dependent promoting effect on SMCproliferation.These data indicated that the two risk factors for atherosclerosis had the function of inducingde novo methylation in the promoter region of the ERα gene of SMCs. However,high concentrations (50rag/L) of ox-LDL induced demethylation,indicating that different risk factors of atherosclerosis with differentpotency might cause different aberrant methylation patterns in the promoter region of the ERα gene.Theatherogenic mechanism of Hcy might involve the hypermethylation of the ERα gene,leading to the proliferationof SMCs in atherosclerotic lesions.  相似文献

Aims Our objective was to estimate the carbon storage in the forest tree layer in Qinghai Province, China. Methods Based on forest resource inventory data and field investigation data, we estimated the carbon storage, sequestration rate and potentials in the forest tree layer in the Qinghai Province. Important findings The carbon density and total carbon storage of forest tree layer in Qinghai Province was 76.54 Mg·hm-2 and 27.38 Tg, respectively, of which four forest types (Picea spp. forest, Cupressus funebris forest, Betula spp. forest and Populus spp. forest) accounted for 86.67% while their areas were 96.23% of total forest areas in Qinghai. The carbon density and carbon storage of Picea spp. forest was 106.93 Mg·hm-2 and 14.78 Tg, respectively, which was the largest among all forest types. The carbon storage of the forest tree layer at different stand ages followed the sequence of over-mature forest > middle-aged forest > mature forest > near-mature forest > young forest. In addition, the carbon storage of forest tree layer in the province increased from 23.30 Tg in 2003 to 27.38 Tg in 2011. The average annual growth of carbon and carbon sequestration rate were 0.51 Tg and 1.06 Mg·hm-2·a-1, respectively. The maximum and minimum of carbon sequestration rate were respectively found in Cupressus funebris forest (0.44 Mg·hm-2·a-1) and Betula spp. forest (-1.06 Mg·hm-2·a-1). The mean carbon sequestration potential reached 8.50 Tg in 2011, with the highest value found in Picea spp. forest (3.40 Tg). These findings suggested high carbon sequestration potential of forest tree layer in Qinghai Province. In vivo interactions of rabbit alveolar macrophages (AM) and Cryptococcus neoformans, a yeast pathogenic for humans, were studied. As a control, inert silica particles of a similar diameter (5–6 μm) were used. Of 16 rabbits, 6 were instilled intratracheally with fluorescein-labelled heat-killed C. neoformans, 6 with fluorescein-labelled silica particles and 4 with saline only. After 24 h, the AM were collected by lung lavage, and phagocytosis, oxidative metabolism, phagolysosomal pH and morphology were studied. The accumulated number of yeasts attached to the AM was almost the same for C. neoformans as for the silica particles. The ingested fraction of C. neoformans was even higher than that of the silica particles. Quantitative NBT reduction by the AM, reflecting their oxidative metabolism, was markedly increased by exposure to C. neoformans for 24 h. The phagolysosomal pH was on the average lower in phagolysosomes with C. neoformans than with the silica particles, although approximately 2% of the phagolysosomes with C. neoformans had neutral pH. Phagolysosomes with neutral pH was not observed for silica particles. Electron microscopy showed presence of C. neoformans in phagolysosomes of AM. The conclusion of this study is that the phagocytic activity, oxidative metabolism and phagolysosomal pH AM against C. neoformans are significant 24 h after the exposure. The inhibitory effect of parvovirus H-1 on the colonyforming ability.in vitro of QGY-7703,a cultured human hepatoma cell line,and on the formation and growth of its tumors in nude mice was studied.With higher multiplicity of infection(MOI) of H-1 given,survival of the QGY-7703 cells was found to be decreased.H-1 DNA amplification level at 30h postinfection(p.i.) was detected to be 7.4 times higher than that at 2h by dispersed cells assay,while the cells were delayed to enter into S phase.Plaques were formed in the indicator cells(new-born human kidney cell line,NBK) by progeny H-1 virus particles released from the infected QGY-7703 cells by infectious cell center assay.The formation of tumors in nude mice by QGY-7703 cells which were injected s c at 2h postinfection was observed to by prevented in 2 proups with given MOI 25 and 50.The tumor growth of MOI 10 group occurred at a lower exponential rate than that of control,after a 20d latent period.It was evident that parvovirus H-1 exhibited a direct inhibitory effect on the formation and growth of human hepatoma cells in vivo as well as in vitro.  相似文献

The present study was undertaken to examine possible aluminum (Al) accumulation in the brain of rats and to investigate whether subchronic exposure to the metal leads to behavioral and neurophysiological changes in both treated and control groups. Each of the groups consisted of 10 animals. Aluminum chloride (AlCl3) at a low (50 mg/kg/d) or high (200 mg/kg/d) dose was applied to male Wistar rats by gavage for 8 wk. Al-free water by gavage was given to the control group throughout the experiment. Behavioral effects were evaluated by open-field (OF) motor activity and by acoustic startle response (ASR). Electrophysiological examination was done by recording spontaneous activity and sensory-evoked potentials from the visual, somatosensory, as well as auditory cortex. The Al content of each whole brain was determined by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Subchronic Al exposure slightly caused some changes in the evoked potentials and electrocorticograms and in the OF and ASR performance, but these results were not statistically significant. The brain Al levels of the control and the low and high dose of Al-exposed groups were measured as 0.717±0.208 μg/g (wet weight), 0.963±0.491 μg/g (wet weight) and 1.816±1.157 μg/g (wet weight), respectively.  相似文献

The primary aim of the present study was to investigate the overexpression of the rice (Oryza sativa L. subsp, japonica var. Zhonghua 11) flowering control gene (rFCA-RRM2) in monocotyledonous model rice. Constitutive expression of rFCA-RRM2 from the Actl-5 rice promoter caused late flowering in transgenic rice and increased grain weight that was more than 50% higher than that of control plants, which is the first demonstration of rFCA-RRM2 being able to increase rice production. Late flowering was accompanied by strong phenotype and some morphological modifications. These observations suggest that rFCA-RRM2 is a useful tool for phenotype improvement and yield enhancement in cereal crops.  相似文献

Aims Monitoring and quantifying the biomass and its distribution in urban trees and forests are crucial to understanding the role of vegetation in an urban environment. In this paper, an estimation method for biomass of urban forests was developed for the Shanghai metropolis, China, based on spatial analysis and a wide variety of data from field inventory and remote sensing. Methods An optimal regression model between forest biomass and auxiliary variables was established by stepwise regression analysis. The residual value of regression model was computed for each of the sites sampled and interpolated by Inverse-distance weighting (IDW) to predict residual errors of other sites not subjected to sampling. Forest biomass in the study area was estimated by combining the regression model based on remote sensing image data and residual errors of spatial distribution map. According to the distribution of plantations and management practices, a total of 93 sample plots were established between June 2011 and June 2012 in the Shanghai metropolis. To determine a suitable model, several spectral vegetation indices relating to forest biomass and structure such as normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), ratio vegetation index (RVI), difference vegetation index (DVI), soil-adjusted vegetation index (SAVI), and modified soil-adjusted vegetation index (MSAVI), and new images synthesized through band combinations such as the sum of TM2, TM3 and TM4 (denoted Band 234), and the sum of TM3, TM4 and TM5 (denoted Band 345) were used as alternative auxiliary parameters . Important findings The biomass density in urban forests of the Shanghai metropolis varied from 15 to 120 t•hm2. The higher densities of forest biomass concentrated mostly in the urban areas, e.g. in districts of Jing'an and Huangpu, mostly ranging from 35 to 70 t•hm2. Suburban localities such as the districts of Jiading and Qingpu had lower biomass densities at around 15 to 50 t•hm2. The biomass density of Cinnamomum camphora trees across the Shanghai metropolis varied between 20 and 110 t•hm2. The spatial biomass distribution of urban forests displayed a tendency of higher densities in northeastern areas and lower densities in southwestern areas. The total biomass was 3.57 million tons (Tg) for urban forests and 1.33 Tg for C. camphora trees. The overall forest biomass was also found to be distributed mostly in the suburban areas with a fraction of 93.9%, whereas the urban areas shared a fraction of only 6.1%. In terms of the areas, the suburban and urban forests accounted for 95.44% and 4.56%, respectively, of the total areas in the Shanghai metropolis. Among all the administrative districts, the Chongming county and the new district of Pudong had the highest and the second highest biomass, accounting for 20.1% and 19.18% of the total forest biomass, respectively. In contrast, the Jing'an district accounted for only 0.11% of the total forest biomass. The root-mean-square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE) and mean relative error (MRE) of the model for estimating urban forest biomass in this study were 8.39, 6.86 and 24.22%, respectively, decreasing by 57.69%, 55.43% and 64.00% compared to the original simple regression model and by 62.21%, 58.50%, 65.40% compared to the spatial analysis method. Our results indicated that a more efficient way to estimate urban forest biomass in the Shanghai metropolis might be achieved by combining spatial analysis with regression analysis. In fact, the estimated results based on the proposed model are also more comparable to the up-scaled forest inventory data at a city scale than the results obtained using regression analysis or spatial analysis alone.  相似文献

A prospective randomized trial was used to determine iron concentrations in intestinal cancer tissue and colorectum polyps. We investigated the possible difference between the concentrations of iron, ferritin, albumin, and hemoglobin in the serum of patients with colorectal cancer and polyps. We also determined the relationship between the iron and ferritin levels in cancer tissue, the localization of neoplasms, and the stage of their development. The study comprises 67 patients with colorectum cancer and 42 patients with colon and rectum polyps. The metal was determined by using the total-reflection X-ray fluorescence (TRXRF) method. The mean concentration of iron in colorectal cancer equaled 46.1 μg/g of the tissue and was higher than in the case of polyps (43.2 μg/g). The mean serum iron level in patients with colorectal cancer was statistically lower than in the serum of patients with polyp and in the control group (54.5, 91.3, and 108.0 μg/g, respectively). The determined average concentration of ferritin in the serum of patients with colorectal cancer equaled 60.4 μg/g and was statistically lower than the level of this enzyme in the serum of patients with polyps (85.2 μg/g) and in the control group (102.0 μg/g). There was no difference between the serum albumin and hemoglobin concentrations in patients with colorectal cancer, polyps, and the control. There was no difference in the levels of iron and ferritin depending on the location of the neoplasm and the stage of its development. Also, there was no difference between the concentrations of iron in the cancer tissue of malignant and benign tumors after taking into consideration sex and age of patients. During the examination we determined significantly higher concentrations of iron in the cancer tissue and not in the polyp. The low levels of iron in the serum of patients with malignant tumor may increase colorectal cancer risk.  相似文献

Dengue fever(DF) is a vector-borne disease and a tremendous socioeconomic burden on tropical and subtropical countries worldwide. To explore the characteristics of DF epidemic in the Fujian province, information of DF cases in Fujian during 2004–2014 was collected and analyzed. The complete E genes of 48 viral isolates were amplified and sequenced for phylogenetic analysis. A total of 733 cases was reported, of which 612(83.5%) occurred during the peak period from August to October. Additionally, 76%(190/250) of imported cases originated from Southeast Asia countries, by the epidemiological investigation. Phylogenetic analysis of the 48 viral isolates revealed that three genotypes(I, IV, V) of DENV1, and one genotype each of DENV2(cosmopolitan) and DENV3(I) circulated in Fujian during 2004–2014. Similar to the results of the epidemiological investigations, the source of most of the viral isolates, including imported and indigenous cases, may be Southeast Asia countries; however, importation from adjacent provinces was also observed in recent years. Overall, DF is considered an imported epidemic disease in Fujian. Increasing diversity of the viral source and geographic expansion of the area affected by DF in recent years highlights the necessity for strengthening surveillance of the DF epidemic and developing strategies for DF prevention and control in Fujian.  相似文献

Aims Accurate estimation of carbon density and storage is among the key challenges in evaluating ecosystem carbon sink potentials for reducing atmospheric CO2 concentration. It is also important for developing future conservation strategies and sustainable practices. Our objectives were to estimate the ecosystem carbon density and storage of Picea schrenkiana forests in Tianshan region of Xinjiang, and to analyze the spatial distribution and influencing factors. Methods Based on field measurements, the forest resource inventories, and laboratory analyses, we studied the carbon storage, its spatial distribution, and the potential influencing factors in Picea schrenkiana forest of Tianshan. Field surveys of 70 sites, with 800 m2 (28.3 m × 28.3 m) for plot size, was conducted in 2011 for quantifying arbor biomass (leaf, branch, trunk and root), grass and litterfall biomass, soil bulk density, and other laboratory analyses of vegetation carbon content, soil organic carbon content, etc. Important findings The carbon content of the leaf, branch, trunk and root of Picea schrenkiana is varied from 46.56% to 52.22%. The vegetation carbon content of arbor and the herbatious/litterfall layer was 49% and 42%, respectively. The forest biomass of Picea schrenkiana was 187.98 Mg•hm2, with 98.93% found in the arbor layer. The biomass in all layers was in the order of trunk (109.81 Mg•hm2) > root (39.79 Mg•hm2) > branch (23.62 Mg•hm2) > leaf (12.76 Mg•hm2). From the age-group point of view, the highest and the lowest biomass was found at the mature forest (228.74 Mg•hm2) and young forest (146.77 Mg•hm2), respectively. The carbon density and storage were 544.57 Mg•hm2 and 290.84 Tg C, with vegetation portion of 92.57 Mg•hm2 and 53.14 Tg C, and soil portion of 452.00 Mg•hm2 and 237.70 Tg C, respectively. The spatial distribution of carbon density and storage appeared higher in the western areas than those in the eastern regions. In the western Tianshan Mountains (e.g., Ili district), carbon density was the highest, whereas the central Tianshan Mountains (e.g., Manas County, Fukang City, Qitai County) also had high carbon density. In the eastern Tianshan Mountains (e.g., Hami City), it was low. This distribution seemed consistent with the changes in environmental conditions. The primary causes of carbon density difference might be a combined effects of multiple environmental factors such as terrain, precipitation, temperature, and soil.  相似文献

Lobsters(Homarus americanus) were exposed to cadmium (6μg l−1, 30 days) in flowing seawater, then held for 7 days in aerated “clean ” seawater at either ambient (27 ‰) or low (17 ‰) salinity. Cadmium exposure alone (ambient salinity) induced a general elevation of enzyme activity (heart, antennal gland, and muscle MDH; heart LDH and GPI), despite the probability of some clearance of cadmium from body tissues during the “clean ” seawater holding period. Low-salinity alone (non-exposed lobsters) caused a decrease of enzyme activity (AAT, LDH, GPI, PK) in most tissues examined, except for tail muscle IDH, the activity of which was increased, and MDH, which was significantly elevated above ambient controls in all tissues except heart. Most low-salinity effects were observed in tail muscle, and most cadmium effects, in heart; low-salinity effects outnumbered cadmium stress by nine to four. In heart and tail muscle of cadmium-exposed lobsters held at low salinity, each of the two stresses apparently operated to nullify the other's effects. The most prominent single biochemical response to these sublethal stresses was the elevation of MDH activity. The ratio MDH: LDH gave the clearest indication of overall relative stress.  相似文献
