随着植株生长,不同耐荫性树种枝叶性状对资源的响应策略存在差异。探究不同耐荫性树种在不同径级间枝叶性状变异及其相关关系,对理解植物功能性状种内和种间变异以及植物对资源的响应策略具有重要意义。以黑龙江凉水国家级自然保护区阔叶红松(Pinus koraiensis)林中不同径级(小树、中等树和大树)的喜光树种(白桦Betula platyphylla、枫桦Betula costata)和耐荫树种(春榆Ulmus japonica、紫椴Tilia amurensis、色木槭Acer mono)为研究对象,测定其出叶强度、枝横截面积、枝干重、单叶面积、总叶面积、总叶干重共6个枝叶性状。利用单因素方差(LSD)分析检验不同耐荫性树种在不同径级间其枝、叶性状是否存在显著差异;以标准化主轴估计(SMA)对不同耐荫性树种枝叶性状间相关关系进行分析。结果表明:除枝干重外,耐荫树种枝叶性状均大于喜光树种;不同耐荫性树种大树枝横截面积均最大,中等树叶面积均最小;喜光树种不同径级间枝干重、总叶干重和出叶强度无显著差异,而耐荫树种均存在显著差异。随径级增大,不同耐荫性树种枝横截面积与叶面积均呈正异速生长关系,且除耐荫树种枝横截面积与单叶面积外,均存在共同斜率;不同耐荫性树种出叶强度与单叶面积存在共同斜率为-0.51和0.47,小树和中等树枝横截面积与总叶面积和总叶干重的异速生长指数均与1存在显著差异,而大树与1无显著差异。结果表明:不同耐荫性树种在不同径级间对资源的获取策略存在差异,不同耐荫性树种小树阶段均表现出资源获取策略,大树阶段则表现出资源保守型策略。与耐荫树种相比,喜光树种表现为快速生长策略,而随着径级增大不同耐荫性树种这种差异逐渐消失,本研究结果为森林演替过程中种内和种间的相互作用提供了一个新的视角。  相似文献

Summary The process of host race formation in the aphid Tetraneura yezoensis is examined in relation to its population structure. T. yezoensis induces pouch galls on new leaves of Ulmus davidiana and U. laciniata. Its populations on the two host species are often sympatric. Fundatrices found on one elm species, when reciprocally transplanted to the other, suffered greatly reduced average fitness. This shows that aphid populations associated with the two elm species are genetically differentiated in physiological traits. Individual trees of each elm species showed large differences in susceptibility to gall formation and in bud burst time, and such between-tree variations were consistent over years. Overwintered eggs taken in early spring from four trees (two from each species) were incubated under the same temperature conditions. The average hatching time differed significantly even between populations from conspecific trees, and the sequence of egg hatching paralleled that of the leafing of those four trees. This between-tree difference in hatching time was consistent over years and was found to be genetic, showing that gene flow between aphid populations on separate trees is often restricted. The heterogeneity in host traits may have promoted the evolution of philopatry in this aphid. Of the fundatrices that hatched on a tree of one elm species, a few precent were preadapted to gall formation on the other elm species. This suggests that the formation of a new host race proceeds parapatrically under disruptive selection and at a low level of gene flow. Evidence was actually obtained that a small fraction of Tetraneura alates are passively transported and land on non-host plants.  相似文献

Stable carbon isotope analysis has become a key tool in functional ecology, yet considerable natural variability often limits the interpretations. In this study we document the spatial, taxonomic, temporal and tissue-specific δ13C variability in 10 tree species of a temperate European forest. The Swiss Canopy Crane provided access to the three dimensional space within 55 trees 30–35 m high representing the genera Acer, Carpinus, Fagus, Prunus, Quercus, Tilia, Abies, Larix, Picea and Pinus. The results from six broad-leaved and four conifer species (seven deciduous, three evergreen) documented that the species effect was not significant in contrast to tissue-specific and spatial differences in the canopy. Year-to-year differences were not large but still significant.

Our analysis confirmed a significant difference between δ13C of foliage collected in the upper and lower canopy, but revealed no systematic differences with respect to azimuthal directions in tree crowns of the broad-leaved trees, as opposed to the conifers, which show clear differences between the sun-exposed and the shaded side. Tissue-specific differences were significant, despite surprisingly similar mean values for most tissue types. Such tissue effect was largely due to young branch xylem, which exhibited a systematic less negative deviation from the other tissue types. These findings were consistent across the species tested and provided some guidelines towards a representative sampling strategy for 13C analysis.  相似文献

细根直径变异是根系形态变化的常见形式, 对细根变异研究具有重要意义。为了揭示亚热带天然常绿阔叶林一级根直径变异特征, 该研究选取福建省建瓯市万木林自然保护区天然常绿阔叶林的89种木本植物进行研究。每个树种选取胸径或地径相近的3株, 用完整土块法进行根系取样, 用根序法对根系进行分级。采用单因素方差分析分别检验叶片习性(常绿、落叶树种)、生长型(乔木、小乔木或灌木、灌木)和主要科之间一级根直径的差异; 通过计算Blomberg’s K值以检验系统发育信号; 利用线性回归方法, 分析科水平的分化时间与一级根直径的相关性。结果显示: 1)亚热带常绿阔叶林一级根直径变异系数为23%; 2)常绿树种与落叶树种一级根直径没有显著差异, 但灌木一级根直径显著小于小乔木或灌木、乔木; 3)一级根直径系统发育信号不显著, 科水平分化时间与一级根直径呈正相关关系。研究结果表明, 亚热带天然常绿阔叶林木本植物一级根直径变异受系统发育影响较小, 但受生长型影响, 表现为一定的趋同适应。  相似文献

Very few differences between male and female trees were found in the volatile oil composition of Juniperus scopulorum Sarg. Differences were more apparent when the compounds were calculated as percent of total oil than as weight per g dry matter. Almost all of the sexual differences occurred in the growing season (March–May). Essentially no differences were observed during the rest of the year. The observed differences were very small and should not affect the choice of plant material used in revegetating efforts (when browse potential is important). These differences should not affect chemosystematic studies, particularly if sampling is done during the period of the year when the plants are dormant.  相似文献

Pollination by deceit in Myristica insipida, a beetle-pollinated nutmeg, was hypothesized to operate on intersexual differences in flower production and longevity, producing a daily fluctuation between floral display maxima and minima. Sticky traps were used to continuously monitor beetle activity. Flower production and naturally occurring intersexual differences in display were recorded. Male and female trees flowered in synchrony producing daily display maxima at 1800-0600 and display minima at 1400-1800. Rewarding male trees produced three times the number of flowers of female trees, but the greater longevity of female flowers reduced the intersexual difference in display maxima to a factor of two. There was no intersexual difference in display minima. Beetles were demonstrated to be sensitive to differences in both maximum and minimum displays on rewarding male trees, a necessary prerequisite for directional selection on display size. Beetle captures were significantly higher at male trees during floral display maxima, and no intersexual differences in capture rate occurred during floral display minima. However, capture rates at male trees did not decline as predicted, and the pattern of captures was consistent with crepuscular activity. Beetle captures at male and female trees were lower from 1800 to 0600 and 1000 to 1400, and higher from 0600 to 1000 and 1400 to 1800, but the differences were only significant at female trees. These data suggests that foraging errors are numerous, frequent, and the result of overall foraging activity.  相似文献

叶片暗呼吸是森林碳循环的重要组分,深入分析幼、成树的叶片暗呼吸及其光抑制性的差异,对生态系统总生产力(GPP)的准确估算具有重要意义.本研究以长白山阔叶红松林主要树种(红松和紫椴)的幼树和成树为研究对象,分别测算不同光照下叶片暗呼吸与无光暗呼吸,比较叶片暗呼吸及其光抑制性在幼、成树间的差异,结合幼、成树叶片生理生态参数的对比,对幼、成树叶片暗呼吸及其光抑制性差异的原因进行探讨.结果表明: 两个树种幼树叶片光下暗呼吸的值高于成树,在生长季(6—9月),幼树的值比成树高6.8%~39.6%;两个树种幼树叶片暗呼吸光抑制程度低于成树,幼树叶片暗呼吸光抑制性的值比成树低2.5%~14.1%;红松幼、成树间叶片暗呼吸光抑制性的差异总体高于紫椴幼、成树间叶片暗呼吸光抑制性的差异,差值最高可达18.6%;幼树中较高的光下暗呼吸值和较低的光抑制程度可能与最大净光合速率、比叶面积、气孔导度的变化有关,与叶片氮含量的变化无关.  相似文献

When phylogenetic trees constructed from morphological and molecular evidence disagree (i.e. are incongruent) it has been suggested that the differences are spurious or that the molecular results should be preferred a priori. Comparing trees can increase confidence (congruence), or demonstrate that at least one tree is incorrect (incongruence). Statistical analyses of 181 molecular and 49 morphological trees shows that incongruence is greater between than within the morphological and molecular partitions, and this difference is significant for the molecular partition. Because the level of incongruence between a pair of trees gives a minimum bound on how much error is present in the two trees, our results indicate that the level of error may be underestimated by congruence within partitions. Thus comparisons between morphological and molecular trees are particularly useful for detecting this incongruence (spurious or otherwise). Molecular trees have higher average congruence than morphological trees, but the difference is not significant, and both within- and between-partition incongruence is much lower than expected by chance alone. Our results suggest that both molecular and morphological trees are, in general, useful approximations of a common underlying phylogeny and thus, when molecules and morphology clash, molecular phylogenies should not be considered more reliable a priori.  相似文献

A phylogenetic tree of guppies from seven introduced Japanese populations was constructed using a mitochondrial gene, and the relationship between these Japanese populations and indigenous South American populations was examined. Phylogenetic trees constructed by maximum parsimony and neighbor joining methods indicated four major groups: Group A: Trinidadian populations; Group B: the northernmost Okinawa populations; Group C: the northern Okinawa populations; Group D: Shimoda populations and the remainder of Trinidadian, Venezuelan, and southern Okinawa populations. Considerable genetic differences were observed among the haplotypes within each Okinawa population similar to that found among haplotypes of different native populations, but not within the Shimoda population, because each Okinawa population included haplotypes belonging to different groups. Genetic differences between Groups B, C, and D might reflect those of the introduced lineages; however, these differences might not result from the divergence after introduction events. These results suggested that multiple introductions of different breeding lineages might cause considerable divergence within and between Okinawa populations.  相似文献

The volatile oils of leaves of clonal, greenhouse grown trees of J. scopulorum cv. platinum were examined from young (juvenile or whip leaves) and mature (adult or scale leaves) foliage. Of 36 compounds subjected to analysis of variance, 19 showed significant differences between young and old leaves. In general, the hydrocarbon terpenoids were higher in concentration in new leaves while the oxygenated compounds were higher in the older leaves. This same pattern has been reported in several other gymnosperms. Numerical taxonomy using data on the volatile oils from young and mature leaves yielded the same relative similarities among the five trees examined. Surprisingly, the plants were more similar in the volatile oil from the young leaves than from the mature leaves. The difference in air temperature between the forest edge and interior was simultaneously compared at ten sites at 2‐h intervals over a 229‐day period in the East and West Usambara Mountains in Tanzania. Measurements were recorded with data loggers placed 1.5 m above the ground on the shaded side of trees and positioned 1–2 and 100 m from the forest edge. The difference in air temperature between the forest edge and interior varied regularly over a 24‐h period with mean maximum difference in air temperatures of 0.85°C occurring at 15:00 h and mean minimum diel difference in air temperature of 0.02°C occurring at 21:00 h. Diel variation in the difference in air temperature between the forest edge and interior varied little by season and was unrelated to elevation.  相似文献

Despite the high economic impact of root rot disease, knowledge regarding the rhizosphere microflora of avocado trees affected by root rot is limited. Metagenomics was applied to identify the difference in the rhizosphere microflora of avocado trees with and without visible symptoms of root rot. Approximately, 446,970 common gene catalogues differed between them, confirming that root rot affected the bacterial and fungal communities in the rhizosphere. The proportion of bacterial genera, namely, Labilithrix, Sorangium, Sandaracinus and Pedosphaera showed a decrease while Phenylobacterium, Rhizomicrobium, Candidatus Solibacter and Silvibacterium genera were increased by root rot. The proportion of fungal genera, namely, Pseudogymnoascus, Moelleriella, Mortierella, Lepidopterella, Babjeviella, Lachancea, Macrophomina, Pneumocystis, Sugiyamaella and Cyphellophora showed an increase while Cryptococcus, Verticillium, Bipolaris, Pyrenochaeta, Rhizophagus, Cenococcum and Neonectria genera were inhibited by root rot. Moreover, the proportion of the top 10 bacteria in the rhizosphere of symptomatic trees was significantly higher, and that of the top 10 fungi was significantly lower, compared to the asymptomatic trees. Principal component analysis based on abundance analysis and function prediction showed that in symptomatic trees, the bacterial community was more concentrated, while the fungal community was more dispersed. The differences in the responses of bacterial and fungal genera suggested that the pathogenic fungi exert varying selection pressure on the microflora. Moreover, root rot affected the metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids and amino acids in bacteria, and the global and overview maps, carbon metabolism and processing of genetic and environmental information in fungi, which might result in differential selection pressure.  相似文献

以塞罕坝机械林场华北落叶松纯林及华北落叶松-白桦混交林为对象,研究林地边缘华北落叶松边界木与林内木径向生长、年轮细胞大小及数量的差异,分析林缘对不同林分类型华北落叶松径向生长及细胞特征的影响。结果表明: 纯林中边界木的径向生长显著快于林内木,年轮总宽、早材和晚材总生长量在边界木较林内木分别增加48.9%、58.9%和29.6%,而混交林边界木与林内木的径向生长差距并不明显。纯林边界木早材细胞总数、早材大细胞和小细胞数量较林内木分别增加63.3%、55.6%和70.0%,晚材细胞总数、晚材大细胞和小细胞数量边界木较林内木分别增加35.4%、37.5%和28.5%,而早晚材细胞大小在边界木与林内木间无显著差异。混交林边界木早晚材细胞数量与林内木无显著差异,但边界木早材细胞大小较林内木增大50.0%,边界木早材最大细胞、最小细胞、大细胞及小细胞的大小较林内木分别增大28.6%、33.3%、16.6%和25.0%。通过混交的方式营造混交林可以有效地缓解林缘导致的纯林中边界木生长过快而林内木生长较慢的现象。  相似文献

Long-eared owls Asio otus do not build their own nests. They occupy old corvid nests in either coniferous or deciduous trees. In my study area owls favoured coniferous over deciduous trees for nesting and occupied nest sites in that order. Comparing overall breeding output, I found no difference between the two kinds of nest sites, but among early nests there was a higher proportion of unsuccessful nests in deciduous trees. This difference was due to differences in predation rate, indicating that the owls' pattern of nest site occupation followed predictions from the ideal despotic distribution model. I also show that, due to a seasonal change in habitat quality, predator driven despotism, although present, can be well masked and hence difficult to detect.  相似文献

给出了一种新的系统树间的拓扑距离,使用NJ,MP,UPGMA等3种方法对13种动物的线粒体中14个基因(含组合的)DNA序列数据进行系统树的构建,利用分割拓扑距离和本文给出的通经拓扑距离对这14种系统树这间及其与真树进行比较。结果显示,NJ法对获得已知树的有效率最高,MP法次之,UPGMA法最低。这14种DNA序列所构建的系统树与已知树的拓扑距离基本上是随其DNA序列长度增加而减小,但两者的相关系数并未达到显著水平,分割拓扑距离在总体上可反映树间的拓扑结构差异,但其测度精确度比通经拓扑距离要低。  相似文献

Summary The water relations of Picea abies in a healthy stand with green trees only and a declining stand with trees showing different stages of needle yellowing were investigated in northern Bavaria. The present study is based on observations of trees differing in their nutritional status but apparently green on both sites in order to identify changes in the response pattern which might be caused by atmospheric concentrations of air pollutants and could lead to the phenomenon of decline. Transpiration was measured as water flow through the hydroactive xylem using an equilibrium mass-flow measurement system. Total tree transpiration was monitored diurnally, from July 1985 until October 1985 at both sites. The relationship between transpiration and meteorological measurements indicated that transpiration was a linear function of the vapor pressure deficit. No differences in transpiration of green trees were observed between the two sites. Canopy transpiration was 57%–68% of total throughfall and 41%–54% of total rainfall. Due to this positive water balance, soil water potential at 10 and 20 cm depths remained close to-0.02 MPa (max.-0.09 MPa) for most of the summer. Soil water potential was correlated with the difference between the weekly precipitation and transpiration. No differences in the water relations of apparently healthy trees in the two P. abies stands were observed. It is concluded that differences between green trees at the two sites in terms of nutrient relations or growth rate cannot be explained by changes in whole-tree transpiration or soil water status.  相似文献

DNA was extracted from the buffy coats or serum of 212 rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) sampled throughout the species' geographic range. An 835 base pair (bp) fragment of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) was amplified from each sample, sequenced, aligned, and used to estimate genetic distances from which phylogenetic trees were constructed. A tree that included sequences from rhesus macaques whose exact origins in China are known was used to determine the regional origin of clusters of haplotypes, or haplogroups, defined by the trees. Indian rhesus sequences formed one large homogeneous haplogroup with very low levels of nucleotide diversity and no geographic structure, and a second much smaller haplogroup apparently derived from Burma. The sequences from Burma and eastern and western China were quite divergent from those in the major haplogroup of India. Each of these sequences formed separate clusters of haplotypes that exhibited far greater nucleotide diversity and/or population structure. Correspondingly, sequences from Indian rhesus macaques that are considered to represent different subspecies (based on morphological differences) were intermingled in the tree, while those from China reflected some, but not all, aspects of subspecific taxonomy. Regional variation contributed 72% toward the paired differences between sequences in an analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA), and the average differences between the populations of eastern and western China were also statistically significant. These results suggest that Indian and Chinese rhesus macaques were reproductively isolated during most, if not all, of the Pleistocene, during which time Indian rhesus macaques experienced a severe genetic bottleneck, and that some gene flow westward into India was subsequently reestablished. Samples from breeding centers in three different provinces of China included sequences from rhesus macaques that originated in both eastern (or southern) and western China, confirming anecdotal reports that regional breeding centers in China exchange breeding stock. Genetic differences among rhesus macaques (even those acquired from the same regional breeding center) that originate in different geographic regions and are employed as subjects in biomedical experiments can contribute to phenotypic differences in the traits under study.  相似文献

Summary Allelic frequencies and genotypic distributions in three polymorphic enzyme systems demonstrated genetic differentiation over extraordinarily short distances in a population of black pineleaf scale insects infesting ponderosa pine trees. A hierarchical analysis of the population genetic structure showed significant differences between demes on different twigs within individual host trees, between demes on neighboring trees, and between demes in pine plots on adjacent city blocks. Allelic frequencies at a malic enzyme locus were associated with deme-to-deme variation in ecological correlates of insect fitness, suggesting adaptive hypotheses about the causes of population subdivision.  相似文献

依据单果大小和口感等指标选择出39个唐古特白刺(Nitraria tangutorum Bobr.)果用优株。并以此为试验材料进一步就果序性状变异进行了研究,结果表明:白刺中选优株的果大小、果重、核果比等单果性状株间差异显著,而株内变异较小。在白刺天然群体内,果序性状差异极为显著,其中不乏果序重突出的单株。中选优株B12、B19等的平均果序重可达8.260g和8.271g,分别比对照高出6.86倍、6.87倍;比39个中选优株的平均值超出1.26倍、1.29倍。尽管白刺株内果序重变幅较大,但B12、B19的果序重最小值仍远远高出对照,甚至分别高出39株平均值79%和66%。由于与果序重密切相关的每序核果数与单果重等单果性状相对独立,因此从果用型白刺开发利用角度考虑,与产量相关更为紧密的果序重应该作为白刺优株选择以及亲本选择的主要依据。  相似文献
