Silver grids are attractive for replacing indium tin oxide as flexible transparent conductors. This work aims to improve the electrochemical stability of silver‐based transparent conductors. A silver grid/PEDOT:PSS hybrid film with high conductivity and excellent stability is successfully fabricated. Its functionality for flexible electrochromic applications is demonstrated by coating one layer of WO3 nanoparticles on the silver grid/PEDOT:PSS hybrid film. This hybrid structure presents a large optical modulation of 81.9% at 633 nm, fast switching, and high coloration efficiency (124.5 cm2 C?1). More importantly, an excellent electrochemical cycling stability (sustaining 79.1% of their initial transmittance modulation after 1000 cycles) and remarkable mechanical flexibility (optical modulation decay of only 7.5% after 1200 compressive bending cycles) is achieved. A novel smart supercapacitor is presented that functions as a regular energy‐storage device and simultaneously monitors the level of stored energy by a rapid and reversible color variation even at high current charge/discharge conditions. The film sustains an optical modulation of 87.7% and a specific capacitance of 67.2% at 10 A g?1 compared to their initial value at a current density of 1 A g?1. The high‐performance silver grid/PEDOT:PSS hybrid transparent films exhibit promising features for various emerging flexible electronics and optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

Nanostructured materials have greatly improved the performance of electrochemical energy storage devices because of the increased activity and surface area. However, nanomaterials (e.g., nanocarbons) normally possess low packing density, and thus occupy more space which restricts their suitability for making electrochemical devices as compact as possible. This has resulted in their low volumetric performance (capacitance, energy density, and power density), which is a practical obstacle for the application of nanomaterials in mobile and on‐board energy storage devices. While rating electrode materials for supercapacitors, their volumetric performance is equally important as the gravimetric metrics and more reliable in particular for systems with limited space. However, the adopted criteria for measuring the volumetric performance of supercapacitors vary in the literature. Identifying the appropriate performance criteria for the volumetric values will set a universal ground for valid comparison. Here, the authors discuss the rationale for quantifying the volumetric performance metrics of supercapacitors from the three progressive levels of materials, electrodes, and devices. It is hoped that these thoughts will be of value for the general community in energy storage research.  相似文献

Vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) layered nanostructures are known to have very stable crystal structures and high faradaic activity. The low electronic conductivity of V2O5 greatly limits the application of vanadium oxide as electrode materials and requires combining with conducting materials using binders. It is well known that the organic binders can degrade the overall performance of electrode materials and need carefully controlled compositions. In this study, we develop a simple method for preparing freestanding carbon nanotube (CNT)‐V2O5 nanowire (VNW) composite paper electrodes without using binders. Coin cell type (CR2032) supercapacitors are assembled using the nanocomposite paper electrode as the anode and high surface area carbon fiber electrode (Spectracarb 2225) as the cathode. The supercapacitor with CNT‐VNW composite paper electrode exhibits a power density of 5.26 kW Kg?1 and an energy density of 46.3 Wh Kg?1. (Li)VNWs and CNT composite paper electrodes can be fabricated in similar manner and show improved overall performance with a power density of 8.32 kW Kg?1 and an energy density of 65.9 Wh Kg?1. The power and energy density values suggest that such flexible hybrid nanocomposite paper electrodes may be useful for high performance electrochemical supercapacitors.  相似文献

Charging times ranging from seconds to minutes with high power densities can be achieved by electrochemical capacitors in principle. Over the past few decades, the performance of supercapacitors has been greatly improved by the utilization of new materials, preparation of unique nanostructures, investigation of electrolytes, and so on. However, the discovery of the related basic theory is very limited. Herein, a new view of a supercapacitor called the “integrated supercapacitor” is proposed. The electrode of the integrated supercapacitor consists of certain positive and negative materials. With this design, a single integrated electrode can work in both the positive and negative potential windows simultaneously. Additionally, the integrated full supercapacitor device shows a much higher capacitance and wider potential window than traditional single symmetric and asymmetric supercapacitors, which results from its multiple mechanisms, including the traditional positive//positive symmetric, positive//negative asymmetric, and negative//negative symmetric full supercapacitor mechanisms.  相似文献

Hierarchical NiMoO4 architectures assembled from well‐aligned uniform nanosheets or nanorods are successfully grown on various conductive substrates using a facile and effective general approach. Importantly, the nanostructures of NiMoO4 can be easily controlled to be nanosheets or nanorods by using different solvents. By virtue of their intriguing structure features, NiMoO4 nanosheets as integrated additive‐free electrodes for supercapacitors manifest higher Faradaic capacitance than NiMoO4 nanorods. Moreover, an asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) is constructed using the as‐prepared NiMoO4 nanosheets as the positive electrode and activated carbon (AC) as the negative electrode. The optimized ASC with an extended operating voltage range of 0–1.7 V displays excellent electrochemical performance with a high energy density of 60.9 Wh kg?1 at a power density of 850 W kg?1 in addition to superior rate capability. Furthermore, the NiMoO4//AC ASC device exhibits remarkable cycling stability with 85.7% specific capacitance retention after 10 000 cycles. The results show that these NiMoO4‐based nanostructures are promising for high‐energy supercapacitors.  相似文献

The charge storage characteristics of a composite nanoarchitecture with a highly functional 3D morphology are reported. The electrodes are formed by the electropolymerization of aniline monomers into a nanometer‐thick polyaniline (PANI) film that conformally coats graphitic petals (GPs) grown by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition (MPCVD) on conductive carbon cloth (CC). The hybrid CC/GPs/PANI electrodes yield results near the theoretical maximum capacitance for PANI of 2000 F g?1 (based on PANI mass) and a large area‐normalized specific capacitance of ≈2.6 F cm?2 (equivalent to a volumetric capacitance of ≈230 F cm?3) at a low current density of 1 A g?1 (based on PANI mass). The specific capacitances remain above 1200 F g?1 (based on PANI mass) for currents up to 100 A g?1 with correspondingly high area‐normalized values. The hybrid electrodes also exhibit a high rate capability with an energy density of 110 Wh kg?1 and a maximum power density of 265 kW kg?1 at a current density of 100 A g?1. Long‐term cyclic stability is good (≈7% loss of initial capacitance after 2000 cycles), with coulombic efficiencies >99%. Moreover, prototype all‐solid‐state flexible supercapacitors fabricated from these hybrid electrodes exhibit excellent energy storage performance.  相似文献
