Abstract. The mountain midges (Diptera: Deuterophlebiidae) of the Palaearctic Region are revised to include eight species. Four new species are described: D. brachyrhina sp. nov., D.oporina sp. nov. and D. blepharis sp.nov. from the Himalayas (Assam and Sikkim), and D.bicarinata sp. nov. from southern Korea. A lectotype is designated for D.mirabilis Edwards, and a key to adult males of all Palaearctic species is provided.
Larval, pupal and adult characters were used to reconstruct the phylogenetic and biogeographic relationships of world species of Deuterophlebiidae. Based on features of the adult male, the Himalayan species D. brachyrhina and D. oporina are considered the most primitive deuterophlebiids. The Nearctic species D. inyoensis is proposed as the sister group of the remaining species. Relationships among the latter are based primarily on larval and pupal characters; however, lack of information about the immature stages of several Palaearctic species contributes to a poorly resolved phylogeny. Several alternative hypotheses are presented and discussed. All phylogenetic alternatives suggest that the Nearctic fauna originated from at least two invasions of North America.  相似文献

本文报道采自西藏的有瓣蝇类7个新种,均属花蝇科。正模标本保存在中国科学院上海昆虫研究所。 银额泉种蝇Pegohylemyia argyrometopa,新种(图1—3) 雄:体长6毫米。复眼裸,额宽约为前单眼宽的2倍,间额黑,间额鬃1,下眶鬃7—8,侧额及侧颜黑色上具银白色粉被,侧颜宽为触角第三节宽的4/3倍,触角黑,第三节长为宽的2倍,芒具毳毛,最长毛与芒基宽相等,颊高为眼高的1/5,银白色粉被明显,上倾口缘鬃3行,下颚须黑,中喙具粉被,长为高的4倍,口上片与额齐,后头背区有小毛。  相似文献

Amphidoma is an old though poorly studied thecate dinophyte that has attracted attention recently as a potential producer of azaspiracids (AZA), a group of lipophilic phycotoxins. A new species, Amphidoma parvula, sp. nov. is described from the South Atlantic shelf of Argentina. With a Kofoidean thecal plate pattern Po, cp, X, 6′, 6′′, 6C, 5S, 6′′′, 2′′′′, the cultivated strain H-1E9 (from which the type material of Am. parvula, sp. nov. was prepared) shared the characteristic plate arrangement of Amphidoma each with six apical, precingular and postcingular plates. Amphidoma parvula, sp. nov. differs from other species of Amphidoma by a characteristic combination of small size (10.7–13.6 µm in length), ovoid shape, high length ratio between epitheca and hypotheca, and small length ratio between apical and precingular plates. Other morphological details, such as the number and arrangement of sulcal plates and the fine structure of the apical pore complex support the close relationship between Amphidoma and the other known genus of Amphidomataceae, Azadinium. However, Am. parvula, sp. nov. lacks a ventral pore, a characteristically structured pore found in all contemporary electron microscopy studies of Amphidoma and Azadinium. As inferred from liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry, Am. parvula, sp. nov. did not produce AZA in measurable amounts. Molecular phylogenetics confirmed the systematic placement of Am. parvula, sp. nov. in Amphidoma (as sister species of Amphidoma languida) and the Amphidomataceae. The results of this study have improved the knowledge of Amphidomataceae biodiversity.  相似文献

A new ice bug species, Galloisiana odaesanensis sp. nov., is described from Mt. Odae, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, South Korea. This species resembles the G. yuasai group in having a short body (less than 20 mm), distinct compound eyes, fewer than 35 antennomeres, and seven or eight cercomeres. The species is, however, clearly distinguished from the G. yuasai group by the following characters: slightly curved supra-anal plate with dull apical margin; rectangular pronotum that is straight on the posterior; 3rd antennomere 1.7 times as long as the 2nd. The distribution of the genus Galloisiana is discussed and a key for Galloisiana species is presented.  相似文献

Two new species of diphyllidean cestodes, Echinobothrium mexicanum n. sp., and Echinobothrium fautleyae n. sp., are described, the former from the spiral intestines of the bat rays Myliobatis californicus and Myliobatis longirostris and the latter from the spiral intestine of the cownose ray Rhinoptera steindachneri, all caught in the Gulf of California, México. Echinobothrium mexicanum is most easily distinguished from the majority of the species of the genus by the number of large apical hooks in each dorsoventral group (23) and from the remainder in the number of lateral hooklets in each group on the scolex. Echinobothrium fautleyae differs conspicuously from all other members of the genus in that the first and last lateral hooklets in each group are distinctly larger than the other hooklets in each group. Serial sections of the scoleces of these 2 new species confirm that the attachment structures on the scolex are bothria, rather than bothridia, as has been described in other species in the genus, suggesting that the attachment structures of the scolex should be examined in more detail in the genus in general. Palmate microtriches of various forms cover the proximal bothrial surfaces of both new species and are also found on the dorsal bothrial surfaces of E. fautleyae. The distal bothrial surfaces of E. mexicanum are covered with slender spiniform and short filiform microtriches. The cephalic peduncles of both species possess short filiform microtriches only. Comparison of these 2 new species with the other 3 species in this genus that have been examined with SEM suggests that the various forms and distributions of these microtriches is unique in each of these 2 species. 记述了伞滑刃属线虫1新种,即弯尾伞滑刃线虫Bursaphelenchus curvicaudatus sp.nov..线虫样本自中国连云港口岸截获木质包装材料中分离获得.新种体长相对较长(雌虫767~960 μm;雄虫663~831 μm),口针较短(雌虫13.9~17.4 μm;雄虫13.9~16.5 μm),口针基部略微加厚,交合刺小(16.5~21.6 μm),末端盘状结构不明显,雌虫尾明显向腹面弯曲.另外,新种雄虫有6个尾乳突,与以前报道有7个尾乳突不同.交合刺形状、雌虫尾的形状及体长等特征能将新种与B.hofmanni、B.abietinus、B.fun-givorus、B.hellenicus、B. hylobianum、B.rainufi、B.eggersi以及B.corneolus区分开来.新种特有的限制性酶切图谱(PCR-ITS-RFLP图谱)是该分离物为1新种的分子证据.  相似文献

Bactrocera oleae (Rossi) (Diptera: Tephritidae) is the main pest of olive trees (Olea europaea L.), causing major damages in olive crops. Improvement of mass rearing is a prerequisite for the successful development of large-scale sterile insect technique (SIT) applications. This can be achieved through the enrichment of artificial diets with gut bacteria isolates. We assessed the efficiency of three gut bacteria previously isolated from Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann), and four isolated from B. oleae, as larval diet additives in both live and inactivated/dead forms. Our results showed that dead Enterobacter sp. AA26 increased pupal weight, whereas both live and dead cells increased pupal and adult production and reduced immature developmental time, indicating that its bacterial cells serve as a direct nutrient source. Live Providencia sp. AA31 improved pupal and adult production, enhanced male survival under stress conditions, and delayed immature development. Dead Providencia sp. AA31, however, did not affect production rates, indicating that live bacteria can colonize the insect gut and biosynthesize nutrients essential for larval development. Live and dead Bacillus sp. 139 increased pupal weight, accelerated immature development, and increased adult survival under stress. Moreover, live Bacillus sp. 139 improved adult production, indicating that Bacillus cells are a direct source of nutrients. Dead Serratia sp. 49 increased pupal and adult production and decreased male survival under stress conditions whereas live cells decreased insect production, indicating that the live strain is entomopathogenic, but its dead cells can be utilized as nutrient source. Klebsiella oxytoca, Enterobacter sp. 23, and Providencia sp. 22 decreased pupal and subsequent adult production and were harmful for B. oleae. Our findings indicate that dead Enterobacter sp. AA26 is the most promising bacterial isolate for the improvement of B. oleae mass rearing in support of future SIT or related population suppression programs.  相似文献

Doxomysis algoaensis sp.nov. is described from Algoa Bay, South Africa where it is common in nearshore marine waters just beyond the breaker line. D. algoaensis sp.nov. is morphologically similar to D. australiensis, but can readily be distinguished by the shape and armature of the telson and the length of the exopod of the fourth male pleopod. The apical cleft is one fifth the telson length in the former species and one third the length in D. australiensis. The telson apex on each side of the cleft is also armed with five and four stout spines in the two species, respectively. In D. australiensis, the exopod of the fourth male pleopod is almost three times the length of the endopod; in D. algoaensis sp.nov., the exopod is only slightly longer than the endopod. Other distinctive features of D. algoaensis sp.nov. include the maxillary palp, which is only slightly broader than long and the greater number of spines on the endopod of the uropod.  相似文献

记述了中国台湾尼蝗属 Niitakacris Tinkham, 1936 的3新种。新种阿里山尼蝗 Niitakacris arishanensis sp. nov.后足股节内侧非红色和雄性尾须基部的最大宽度为端部宽度的4倍,可与本属所有已知种相区别。新种夏氏尼蝗 Niitakacris xiai sp. nov.与红胫尼蝗 N. rosaceanum 和台湾尼蝗 Niitakacris taiwanensis sp. nov.近似,不同之处为中胸腹板中隔的长度大于最狭处,前翅不到达腹部第1节背板后缘。新种台湾尼蝗 Niitakacris taiwanensis sp. nov.与红胫尼蝗 N. rosaceanum 近似, 不同之处为复眼较小,纵径为眼下沟长的1.4 倍;两尾片分开;肛上板基部纵沟较短,不到达中部,沟端圆,不尖。列出了尼蝗属全部5个种的检索表。  相似文献

Calyptraeid gastropods are well know for the taxonomic difficulties caused by their simple, phenotypically variable shells. In this paper I demonstrate that what was previously considered to be a single species, Crepidula aculeata , is an ancient (3–15 Myr) cryptic species complex made up of at least eight species, and that this group should be placed in the genus Bostrycapulus . Despite the difficulty in finding diagnostic adult shell and anatomical features upon which species can be unambiguously identified, DNA sequences, protoconch morphology, embryonic morphology and developmental characters clearly differentiate these eight species. A single species with direct development and nurse eggs is present in the South Atlantic, and a species with planktotrophic development occurs in the equatorial Pacific. The species from Japan, Australia, Florida, the Pacific coasts of Mexico and Central America, and the Cape Verde Islands all have direct development. Most of these species are separated by > 15% divergence in COI sequence data. The fossil record of Bostrycapulus goes back to the Miocene, which agrees with genetic estimates of divergences within the genus ranging from 3 to 15 Mya. Surprisingly, these ancient species differ only slightly in morphology from each other and genetic differentiation does not correlate with geographical distance. I revise the genus Bostrycapulus on the basis of differences in adult morphology, embryonic morphology, mode of development, protoconch morphology, and DNA sequence data. I also describe four new species ( B. pritzkeri sp. nov., B. odites sp. nov., B. latebrus sp. nov. and B. urraca sp. nov. ) and remove three others ( B. gravispinosus , B. calyptraeformis , and B.  cf. tegulicius ) from synonymy with B. aculeatus .  © 2005 The Linnean Society of London, Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society , 2005, 144 , 75−101.  相似文献

Abstract The present paper describes two new species of Microgaster Latreille, 1804, viz: M. longiterebra sp. nov. (♂) and M. longicaudatus sp. nov. (♂). M. longiterebra sp. nov. is described from Kunming, Yunnan Prov. in China closely related to M. subcompletus, but differs from the latter in the combination of the following features: 1) APOL as long as OD; 2) Mesonotum strongly punctate on anterior 2/ 3) r shorter than width of stigma; 4) cu‐a of hind wing medially curved; 5) Apex of hypopygium ending far beyond apex of abdomen. M. longicaudatus sp. nov. is described from Tianmushan, Zhejiang Prov. in China closely related to M. ductilis, but differs from the latter in the combination of the following features: 1) middle and hind femora reddish yellow only with apical 1/4 blackish; 2) 1‐SR 0.5 times as long as 1‐M; 3) the hairy part of ovipositor sheath 0.5 times as long as hind tibia; 4) tergite 3 with slightly weaker rugosity.
