A new genus of Urodidae, Geoesthia gen. nov., is described with the type species, Geoesthia ceylonica sp. nov. from Sri Lanka. This is the second urodid genus from the Oriental Region. The new species is the only urodid recorded from Sri Lanka. The new genus is distinguished from all the known genera within Urodidae by a combination of four characteristics: the lack of scale tufts on the labial palpi; the absence of raised scales of two subbasal spots on the forewings; the presence of M-stem on the hindwings; and the female corpus bursae bearing five signa. Key to the genera and species of Urodidae from the Oriental Region is provided.  相似文献

The Ypsolophid genus Rhabdocosma Meyrick is reviewed. It comprises two known species: R. aglaophanes Meyrick and R. dolini Gershenson, and one new species from Japan, R. nematopogonites Sohn, sp. nov. Photos of imagoes and male genitalia are provided for all three species of Rhadocosma. A close relationship between R. dolini and the new species, and its significance in the biogeography and world species diversity of Rhabdocosma, are discussed.  相似文献

A new species of Oragua Melichar, 1926 is described and illustrated from the Atlantic rainforest of Rio de Janeiro State, southeastern Brazil, based on specimens collected in Casimiro de Abreu (Oragua casimirensis n. sp.). The new species can be distinguished from the other species of the genus by the following combination of features: dorsum dark brown with dispersed yellow dots and spots; male pygofer with well developed dentiform process, directed inwards, on posterodorsal portion; subgenital plates subtriangular and elongate, expanded basally, not extending as far posteriorly as location of dentiform pygofer processes; aedeagus slender and elongate, with pair of apical processes weakly connected to shaft; paraphyses with rami elongate, slightly asymmetrical, approximately parallel to each other. A key to males of the six Oragua species recorded from southeastern Brazil is provided. We propose a group of species within Oragua (linnavuorii group) based on features of the male genitalia of O. flavolineata Mejdalani, Silva & Takiya, 2016, O. linnavuorii Mejdalani, Silva & Takiya, 2016, and O. casimirensis n. sp.

Allorhogas cordobensis sp. nov. (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Doryctinae) is described from the province of Córdoba, Argentina. Its representatives can be distinguished from all other known species of the genus by the unusual morphology of the ovipositor tip and the expanded clypeus apically. Remarkably, this species is also characterized by having a tridentate mandible, a feature known only in exodont braconids, mostly of the subfamily Alysiinae. The new species was reared from stem galls on Lycium cestroides, which constitutes the second record of an Allorhogas species associated with galls on representatives of the plant family Solanaceae.  相似文献

A new species, Pagastia hidakamontana sp. nov., is described from the alpine zone of the Hidaka Mountains in Hokkaido, Japan. Pagastia orthogonia Oliver, so far known only from the Nearctic Region, is newly recorded from Japan and redescribed. Females of P. lanceolata (Tokunaga) and P. nivis (Tokunaga) are redescribed, and the synonymy of P. lanceolata with Syndiamesa (Lasiodiamesa) crassipilosa Tokunaga (= Pseudodiamesa crassipilosa) is proposed. Keys to males and females of Japanese species of the genus are provided.  相似文献

A new species Swartzia trimorphica Mansano & A. L. Souza (Leguminosae, Papilionoideae, Swartzieae) from the Amazonian Brazil, is described and illustrated. The new species is notable and distinct from all the other species of Swartzia by its highly unusual trimorphic stamens, while the other species have either an isomorphic or a dimorphic androecium. The new species is included in the section and subsection Swartzia , ser. Orthostylae based on its bracteolate pedicels, the cauligerous inflorescences, lateral style and the relative size of the ovary compared to the style. The atypically small gynoecium in the material suggests the possibility that flowers may be functionally unisexual. Field observations and more collections are needed to resolve this question.  © 2005 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society , 2005, 147 , 235–238.  相似文献

A second species of the poorly known sharpshooter genus Nannogonalia Young, 1977 is described and illustrated from the Atlantic Forest of south Brazil (state of Paraná). Types are deposited in DZUP. Nannogonalia inusitata n. sp. can be distinguished from the type-species (Tettigonia circumcincta Signoret, 1855) mainly by the color pattern and form of the male subgenital plates and female sternite VII. Nannogonalia circumcincta is newly recorded from the state of Paraná. The female genitalia of Nannogonalia are described in detail for the first time, based on the type-species and the new species. We discuss some peculiar features of the first and second ovipositor valvulae of this genus that were previously observed in Versigonalia Young, 1977.  相似文献

Abstract

The genus Ctenopseustis Meyrick (Tortricinae: Archipini) is reviewed. The species C. fraterna Philpot, 1930 and C. servana Walker, 1863 are reinstated, and the concept of C. obliquana (Walker, 1863) is redefined. Synonymies are given for each species, and characteristics are described and illustrated.  相似文献

Strophidon McClelland is a muraenid genus with characteristic appearance of a very elongated body, a large mouth cleft and anteriorly placed eyes. The nomenclature and taxonomic history of species within Strophidon are contentious and its members are easily misidentified. In the present study, species of the genus Strophidon are revised based on morphological and molecular data, and five species are considered valid, including S. dawydoffi Prokofiev, S. dorsalis (Seale), S. sathete (Hamilton), S. ui Tanaka and a new species, S. tetraporus. Strophidon tetraporus sp. nov. is described based on 15 specimens from Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam with the unique characteristic of the constant presence of the fourth infraorbital pore among species of Strophidon. The intraspecific variation of vertebral formula within S. dorsalis is discussed based on molecular data. Muraena macrurus Bleeker and Thyrsoidea longissima Kaup are synonyms of S. sathete that can be distinguished from the most similar congener S. ui by a longer tail, smaller eyes and more inner maxillary and inner dentary teeth. A key to identify species of Strophidon is provided. The distribution and maximum size of each species are also re-evaluated.  相似文献
