Without developing new agronomic practices, present rates of improvement in seed yields of cereal crops globally are insufficient to fulfil the estimated increasing food demand for 2050 and beyond. Intercropping is one of the agricultural practices that can lead to greater crop yields. However, there exists leaf redundancy for maize in intercropping systems, and the top canopy leaves shade more competent leaves at middle strata of maize plants. Therefore, this work aimed to elucidate the effect of leaf excision treatments in maize to understand the optimum leaf area of maize plants under a maize–soybean relay‐intercropping system (MSR) and a sole cropping system (SM). The effects of four‐leaf excision treatments (T1, 0; T2, 2; T3, 4; T4, 6 leaves excised from the top of maize plants until 7 days after silking) on light interception, leaf area index (LAI), photosynthetic characteristics, total biomass accumulation at blistering stage (BS), dough stage (DS) and physiological maturity (PM), and seed yield of maize were investigated through field experiments for 2 years under MSR and SM. Results showed that, under MSR and SM, as compared to control (T1), optimum excision of leaves (T2) from the top of maize plants significantly improved the light interception (by 25, 18 and 16% at BS, DS and PM, respectively) to lower strata leaves and accelerated the biomass partitioning to maize seeds (by 13 and 12% at DS and PM, respectively). Importantly, plants under T2 exhibited higher green leaf area than control, that is, excision the top two leaves led to an increase in LAI at PM by 10%, suggesting that leaf senescence under T2 was delayed which enhanced the photosynthetic rate at PM by 7% in 2017 and 6% in 2018. Relative to T1, maize under T2 produced 19 and 13% higher maize yield under MSR and SM, respectively, and relay‐cropped maize had 90% of SM seed yield. These results suggest that by manipulating the canopy structure of maize plants we can enhance the biomass accumulation and seed yield of maize crops under MSR and SM.  相似文献

Botrytis fabae spore suspensions containing c. 1, 10, 102, 103, 104, 105, or 106 spores/ml were used to inoculate 5, 17 or 30-day-old field bean leaves. The percentages of the leaf areas covered by, chocolate spot lesions and the percentages of the leaf areas bearing conidiophores were assessed 1, 6, 12, 14, and 19 days after inoculation. The percentage of the area covered by lesions and the percentage of the area bearing conidiophores (logit-transformed) increased linearly with increasing spore concentration (log10-transformed). The proportions of leaf areas covered by lesions and bearing conidiophores were both greater on 17 and 30-day-old leaves than on 5-day-old leaves. The rate of lesion growth increased with both increasing inoculum dose and increasing leaf age. Generally there was no interaction between the effects of leaf age and the effects of inoculum dose on either lesion growth or sporulation. Two days after inoculation with suspensions of either 104 or 106 spores/ml, 7-day-old leaves grown at 15°C were transferred to –16°C or 2.5°C or kept at 15°C for 4 days. Two days later more spores had been produced on leaves which had been frozen (–16°C) than on, leaves kept at 2.5°C.  相似文献

Sucrose and starch concentration, sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) activity in leaves, and long distance transport were studied in maize seedlings treated with moderate chilling (14 °C/12 °C - day/night). Two inbred lines were tested: chilling-tolerant KW1074 and chilling-sensitive CM109. Seedlings were grown in phytotrone on water nutrient until the 4-th leaf appearance. The estimations were done on fully developed 2-nd leaf. Six days after the temperature was lowered, leaves of line KW 1074 plants contained 5-fold more sucrose and starch than the control ones. The same treatment of CM 109 seedlings resulted in accumulation of sucrose and starch by 2-fold and 8.5-fold, respectively. As the result of chilling-treatment, 14C assimilation rate (Pa), transport speed in the leaf blade (TS1) and along the plant (TSm) decreased by about 50 % in both lines. On the other hand, time necessary for radiolabel movement into the phloem loading region (AT) increased strongly, especially in chilling-sensitive line CM 109. It was also noted, that the radioactivity exported from leaves (R1) and imported by roots (Rm) decreased in line CM 109, and increased slightly in line KW 1074. The activity of SPS extracted from leaves of both lines decreased by about 3.3 when temperature was lowered form 30°C to 10°C. There was no effect of 6 day treatment of chilling on SPS activity. Changes in sucrose and starch concentration, SPS activity as well as differences in transport parameters observed in KW1074 and CM109 seedlings at moderate low temperatures are discussed in terms of mechanism of maize chilling-sensitivity.  相似文献

Concurrent measurements of evaporation, leaf conductance, irradiance, leaf water potential, and osmotic potential of maize (Zea mays L. cv. Pa602A) in soil at either high or low soil water potential were compared at several hours on two consecutive days in July. Hourly evaporation, measured on two weighing lysimeters, was similar until 1000 hours Eastern Standard Time, but thereafter evaporation from the maize in the dry soil was always less than that in the wet soil; before noon it was 62% and by midafternoon, only 35% of that in the wet soil. The leaf water potential, measured with a pressure chamber, was between −1.2 and −2.5 bars and between −6.8 and −8 bars at sunrise (about 0530 hours Eastern Standard Time) in the plants in the wet and dry soil, respectively, but decreased quickly to between −8 and −13 bars in the plants in the wet soil and to less than −15 bars in the plants in the dry soil by 1100 to 1230 hours Eastern Standard Time. At this time, the leaf conductance of all leaves was less than 0.1 cm sec−1 in the maize in the dry soil, whereas the conductance was 0.3 to 0.4 cm sec−1 in the leaves near the top of the canopy in the wet soil. The osmotic potential, measured with a vapor pressure osmometer, also decreased during the morning but to a smaller degree than leaf water potential, so that by 1100 to 1230 hours Eastern Standard Time the leaf turgor potential was 1 to 2 bars in all plants. Thereafter, leaf turgor potential increased, particularly in the plants in soil at a high water potential, whereas leaf water potential continued to decrease even in the maize leaves with partly closed stomata. Evidently maize can have values of leaf conductance differing 3- to 4- fold at the same leaf turgor potential, which suggests that stomata do not respond primarily to bulk leaf turgor potential. Evidence for some osmotic adjustment in the plants at low soil water potential is presented. Although the degree of stomatal closure in the maize in dry soil did not prevent further development of stress, it did decrease evaporation in proportion to the decrease in canopy conductance.  相似文献

Fusarium infection of maize leaves and/or roots through the soil can stimulate the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It is also well known that VOC emission from maize plants can repel or attract pests. In our experiments, we studied VOC induction responses of Zea mays L. ssp. mays cv. ‘Prosna’ having Fusarium infection (mix of four species) in leaves or roots, then tested for VOC induction of uninfected neighboring plants, and finally examined wind-tunnel behavioral responses of the adult cereal leaf beetle, Oulema melanopus L. (Chrysomelidae: Coleoptera) behavior to four induced VOCs. In the first part of our experiment, we confirmed that several green leaf volatiles (GLVs; (Z)-3-hexenal, (E)-2-hexenal, (Z)-3-hexen-1-ol, (E)-2-hexen-1-ol, (Z)-3-hexen-1-yl acetate, 1-hexyl acetate), terpenes (β-pinene, β-myrcene, Z-ocimene, linalool, β-caryophyllene), and shikimic acid pathway derivatives (benzyl acetate, methyl salicylate, indole) were positively induced from maize plants infected by Fusarium spp. The quantities of induced VOCs were higher at 7 d than 3 d post-infection and greater when plants were infected with Fusarium on leaves rather than through soil. In the second part of our experiment, uninfected maize plants also showed significantly positive induction of several VOCs when neighboring an infected plant where the degree of induction was negatively related to the distance from the infected plant. In the third part of our experiment, a Y-tube bioassay was used to evaluate upwind orientation of adult cereal leaf beetles to four individual VOCs. Female and male O. melanopus were significantly attracted to the GLVs (Z)-3-hexenal and (Z)-3-hexenyl acetate, and the terpenes linalool and β-caryophyllene. Our results indicate that a pathogen can induce several VOCs in maize plants that also induce VOCs in neighboring uninfected plants, though VOC induction could increase the range at which an insect pest species is attracted to VOC inducing plants.  相似文献

In a series of experiments excised leaves from take-all infected wheat plants and from control plants were inoculated with Septoria nodorum. Larger lesions, more lesions/leaf and more pycnidia/unit area of lesion were produced from take-all plants. Significant effects of predisposition were demonstrated when only 3% of the area of the total root system was infected by take-all. Microscopical investigations revealed that germ-tubes of S. nodorum grew more rapidly on leaves from take-all plants, but the time of penetration was not affected. It is proposed that the observed effects of predisposition arose because more germ-tubes produced successful infections and host tissue was more rapidly colonised. The importance of these results for the epidemiology of glume blotch is discussed.  相似文献

Abstract Leaf diffusion resistance and leaf water potential of intact Solanum melongena plants were measured during a period of chilling at 6 °C. Two pretreatments, consisting of a period of water stress or a foliar spraying of abscisic acid (ABA), were imposed upon the plants prior to chilling. The control plants did not receive a pretreatment. In addition to intact plant studies, stomatal responses to water loss and exogenous abscisic acid were investigated using excised leaves, and the influence of the pretreatment observed. Chilled, control plants wilted slowly and maintained open stomata despite a decline in leaf water potential to –2.2 MPa after 2 d of chilling. In contrast plants that had been water stressed or had been sprayed with abscisic acid, prior to chilling, did not wilt and maintained a higher leaf water potential and a greater leaf diffusion resistance. In plants that had not received a pretreatment, abscisic acid caused stomatal closure at 35 °C, but at 6°C it did not influence stomatal aperture. The two pretreatments greatly increased stomatal sensitivity to both exogenous ABA and water stress, at both temperatures. Stomatal response to water loss from excised leaves was greatly reduced at 6°C. These results are discussed in relation to low temperature effects on stomata and the influence of preconditioning upon plant water relations.  相似文献

Ten day old bush bean plants (Phaseolus vulgaris L. cv Contender) were used to analyze the effects of 3 micromolar Cd on the time courses of expansion growth, dry weight, leaf water relations, stomatal resistance, and abscisic acid (ABA) levels in roots and leaves. Control and Cd-treated plants were grown for 144 hours in nutrient solution. Samples were taken at 24 hour intervals. At the 96 and 144 hour harvests, additional measurements were made on excised leaves which were allowed to dry for 2 hours. From the 48 hour harvest, Cd-treated plants showed lower leaf relative water contents and higher stomatal resistances than controls. At the same time, root and leaf expansion growth, but not dry weight, was significantly reduced. The turgor potentials of leaves from Cd-treated plants were nonsignificantly higher than those of control leaves. A significant increase (almost 400%) of the leaf ABA concentration was detected after 120 hours exposure to Cd. But Cd was found to inhibit ABA accumulation during drying of excised leaves. It is concluded that Cd-induced decrease of expansion growth is not due to turgor decrease. The possible mechanisms of Cd-induced stomatal closure are discussed.  相似文献

The maize orange leafhopper Cicadulina bipunctata (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) induces galls characterized by growth stunting and severe swelling of leaf veins on various plants of Poaceae. Previous studies revealed that galls are induced not on feeding site but on distant, newly extended leaves during the feeding, and strongly suggested that some chemicals injected by the leafhopper affect at the leaf primordia. To approach the mechanism underlying gall induction by C. bipunctata, we examined physiological response of plants to feeding by the leafhopper. We performed high-throughput and comprehensive plant hormone analyses using LC-ESI-MS/MS. Galled maize leaves contained higher contents of abscisic acid (ABA) and trans-Zeatin (tZ) and lower contents of gibberellins (GA1 and GA4) than ungalled maize leaves. Leafhopper treatment significantly increased ABA and tZ contents and decreased GA1 and GA4 contents in extending leaves. After the removal of leafhoppers, contents of tZ and gibberellins in extending leaves soon became similar to the control values. ABA content was gradually decreased after the removal of leafhoppers. Such hormonal changes were not observed in leafhopper treatment on leaves of resistant maize variety. Water contents of galled leaves were significantly lower than control leaves, suggesting water stress of galled leaves and possible reason of the increase in ABA content. These results imply that ABA, tZ, and gibberellins are related to gall induction by the leafhopper on susceptible variety of maize.  相似文献

Elevation of leaf auxin (indole-3-acetic acid; IAA) levels in intact plants has been consistently found to inhibit leaf expansion whereas excised leaf strips grow faster when treated with IAA. Here we test two hypothetical explanations for this difference in growth sensitivity to IAA by expanding leaf tissues in vivo versus in vitro. We asked if, in Arabidopsis, IAA-induced growth of excised leaf strips results from the wounding required to excise tissue and/or results from detachment from the plant and thus loss of some shoot or root derived growth controlling factors. We tested the effect of a range of exogenous IAA concentrations on the growth of intact attached, wounded attached, detached intact, detached wounded as well as excised leaf strips. After 24 h, the growth of intact attached, wounded attached, and detached intact leaves was inhibited by IAA concentrations as little as 1 µM in some experiments. Growth of detached wounded leaves and leaf strips was induced by IAA concentrations as low as 10 µM. Stress, in the form of high light, increased the growth response to IAA by leaf strips and reduced growth inhibition response by intact detached leaves. Endogenous free IAA content of intact attached leaves and excised leaf strips was found not to change over the course of 24 h. Together these results indicate growth induction of Arabidopsis leaf blade tissue by IAA requires both substantial wounding as well as detachment from the plant and suggests in vivo that IAA induces parallel pathways leading to growth inhibition.  相似文献

Aims

Heat stress is a growing concern in crop production because of global warming. In many cropping systems heat stress often occurs simultaneously with other environmental stress factors such as mineral nutrient deficiencies. This study aimed to investigate the role of adequate magnesium (Mg) nutrition in mitigating the detrimental effects of heat stress on wheat (Triticum aestivum) and maize (Zea mays).

Methods

Wheat and maize plants were grown in solution culture with low or adequate Mg supply at 25/22 °C (light/dark). Half of the plants were, then, exposed to heat stress at 35/28 °C (light/dark). Development of leaf chlorosis and changes in root and shoot growth, chlorophyll and Mg concentrations as well as the activities of major antioxidative enzymes were quantified in the experimental plants. Additionally, maize plants were analyzed for the specific weights (e.g., dry or fresh weight per a given leaf surface area) and soluble carbohydrate concentrations of sink and source leaves.

Results

Visual leaf symptoms of Mg deficiency were aggravated in wheat and maize when exposed to heat stress. In both species, root growth was more sensitive to Mg deficiency than shoot growth, and the shoot-to-root ratios peaked when heat stress was combined with Mg deficiency. Magnesium deficiency markedly reduced soluble carbohydrate concentrations in young leaf; but resulted in substantial increase in source leaves. Magnesium deficiency also increased activities of antioxidative enzymes, especially when combined with heat stress. The highest activities of superoxide dismutase (up to 80 % above the control), glutathione reductase (up to 250 % above the control) and ascorbate peroxidase (up to 300 % above the control) were measured when Mg-deficient plants were subjected to heat, indicating stimulated formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in Mg deficient leaves under heat stress.

Conclusions

Magnesium deficiency increases susceptibility of wheat and maize plants to heat stress, probably by increasing oxidative cellular damage caused by ROS. Ensuring a sufficiently high Mg supply for crop plants through Mg fertilization is a critical factor for minimizing heat-related losses in crop production.  相似文献

Simultaneous measurements were made with the xylem pressure probe on exposed, transpiring leaves and with the Scholander pressure chamber on both transpiring and covered, non-transpiring leaves of sugarcane and maize plants. Xylem tensions inferred from pressure chamber balancing pressures on non-transpiring leaves were similar to those measured directly with the xylem pressure probe in transpiring leaves. However, tensions inferred with the pressure chamber on transpiring leaves that were placed in plastics bags just prior to excision were up to 0.6 MPa greater than those measured concurrently with the xylem pressure probe. These findings suggest that relatively large differences in water potential between the xylem and bulk leaf tissue can exist during periods of rapid transpiration, and they confirm that the balance pressure of an excised, previously transpiring leaf is only a measure of the bulk average equilibrium leaf water potential and not of the true xylem pressure that existed prior to excision.Key words: Cohesion-Tension theory, xylem pressure probe, pressure chamber, xylem tension.   相似文献

Plants display differential responses following mechanical damage and insect herbivory. Both caterpillar attack and the application of caterpillar oral secretions (OS) to wounded leaves stimulates volatile emission above mechanical damage alone. Volicitin ( N- 17-hydroxylinolenoyl- l -glutamine), present in beet armyworm (BAW, Spodoptera exigua ) OS, is a powerful elicitor of volatiles in excised maize seedlings ( Zea mays cv. Delprim). We consider some of the mechanistic differences between wounding and insect herbivory in maize by examining the activity of volicitin, changes in jasmonic acid (JA) levels, and volatile emission from both intact plant and excised leaf bioassays. Compared to mechanical damage alone, volicitin stimulated increases in both JA levels and sesquiterpene volatiles when applied to intact plants. In a bioassay comparison, excised leaves were more sensitive and produced far greater volatile responses than intact plants following applications of both volicitin and JA. In the excised leaf bioassay, volicitin applications (10–500 pmol) to wounded leaves resulted in dose dependent JA increases and a direct positive relationship between JA and sesquiterpene volatile emission. Interestingly, volicitin-induced JA levels did not differ between intact and excised bioassays, suggesting a possible interaction of JA with other regulatory signals in excised plants. In addition to JA, insect herbivory is known to stimulate the production of ethylene. Significant increases in ethylene were induced only by BAW herbivory and not by either wounding or volicitin treatments. Using intact plant bioassays, ethylene (at 1 µl l−1 or less) greatly promoted volatile emission induced by volicitin and JA but not mechanical damage alone. For intact plants, wounding, elicitor-induced JA and insect-induced ethylene appear to be important interacting components in the stimulation of insect-induced volatile emission.  相似文献

Conidia of Cladosporium allii and C. allii-cepae germinated over the temperature range 2–30°C on agar with optimal responses at 15–20°C (C. allii) and 20°C (C. allii-cepae). Conidia of both fungi germinated in water and at c. 100% relative humidity (r.h.) but not at lower humidities on leaf and glass slide surfaces. Germination was more rapid when spores were applied dry to agar or leaves than when applied in water or nutrient solution. More lesions developed when conidia of C. allii-cepae were deposited dry on onion leaf discs or leaf surfaces than when they were applied suspended in water. Conidia of both fungi required 18–20 h at c. 100% r.h. to germinate and infect when applied dry to leaves. Damaging the leaves or the addition of nutrients to the leaf surface increased the incidence of infection by C. allii-cepae compared to controls. Inoculated onion bait plants placed out-of-doors developed infection after at least 17 h at c. 100% r.h. or with leaf wetness. Similar conditions were necessary for infection of bait plants exposed in onion and leek crops infected by C. allii-cepae and C. allii respectively. Disease development and spread of infection occurred at different rates over the same period in two different cultivars of leeks, with spore concentrations increasing in proportion to disease. Spore numbers in the air fell considerably when infected leeks were ploughed under.  相似文献

We examined the DNA from chloroplasts obtained from young and fully expanded leaves of tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.), Medicago truncatula, pea (Pisum sativum L.), and maize (Zea mays L.). The changes in plastid DNA content and structure were monitored by four independent methods: 4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) staining with intact chloroplasts, in situ DAPI staining of cytological sections, ethidium bromide staining at the single-molecule level after exhaustive deproteinization of lysed chloroplasts, and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis. During leaf development, we found a decline of chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) in all four plants. For tobacco, for which plants can readily be regenerated from somatic cells, cpDNA persisted longer than in the other three plants. We also found a striking progression from complex multigenomic DNA molecules to simple subgenomic molecules during plastid development. Although the decrease in molecular size and complexity paralleled the decrease in DNA content per plastid, 6% of the chloroplasts in a fully expanded tobacco leaf still contained DNA in complex branched structure, whereas no such complex structures were found in mature leaves for the hard-to-regenerate maize.  相似文献

The introduction and expression of proteinase inhibitor encoding genes into sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) genome is an interesting strategy for conferring partial resistance to the sugarcane borer Diatraea saccharalis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), the major insect pest of sugarcane in Brazil. To investigate the role of soybean (Glycine max L.) Kunitz trypsin inhibitor (SKTI) and soybean Bowman–Birk inhibitor (SBBI) in the control of D. saccharalis, the cDNAs encoding these proteinase inhibitors were placed under the control of the maize ubiquitin promoter (Ubi-1), and introduced into sugarcane callus using particle bombardment. Putative transgenic plants were initially identified after regeneration from callus growing in the presence of 30 mg l–1 geneticin, while molecular characterization of transgenic plants revealed that both genes were incorporated into the sugarcane genome and expressed. We also carried out insect feeding trials using D. saccharalis neonate larvae and leaf tissue excised from propagated transgenic and untransformed plants, and found that the growth of larvae feeding on leaf tissue from transgenic plants containing BBI and Kunitz inhibitors was significantly retarded as compared to larvae fed on leaf tissue from untransformed plants. In greenhouse trials with transgenic sugarcane plants infested with D. saccharalis neonates, we found that these plants still presented the ‘dead heart’ symptom typically observed in susceptible plants in the field, suggesting that the retardation of the growth of D. saccharalis observed in the laboratory-based feeding trials was not sufficient to prevent this type of damage.  相似文献

Polyadenylated RNA was isolated from maize leaves and translated in vitro. In agreement with a previous report by others, we found among the translation products a 110-kilodalton pyruvate orthophosphate dikinase (PPDK) precursor that is about 16 kilodaltons larger than the polypeptide isolated from cells. This maize PPDK precursor polypeptide was taken up from the translation product mixture by intact spinach chloroplasts and yielded a mature PPDK polypeptide (94 kilodaltons). The uptake and processing support the proposal that the extra 16-kilodalton size of the polypeptide from in vitro translation of maize leaf mRNA represents a transit sequence which is cleaved after its entry into chloroplasts. Moreover, these results provide additional evidence that in vivo in maize leaf cells PPDK polypeptide is synthesized in the cytoplasm and is transported into the chloroplasts.

Location of PPDK in C3 plant leaves was investigated by immunochemical analysis. Intact chloroplasts were isolated from leaves of spinach, wheat, and maize. A protein blot of stromal protein in each case gave rise to bands corresponding to authentic PPDK polypeptide. This result indicates that PPDK is present in chloroplasts of C3 plant leaves as it is in the case of C4 plants.

The ch4 mutant of sweetclover (Melilotus alba) has previously been demonstrated to be partially deficient in chlorophyll and to have a higher ratio of chlorophyll a to b than normal plants. We were able to substantiate these findings when plants were grown at 23°C and lower (permissive temperatures). However, when grown at 26°C (nonpermissive temperature) the plants produced small yellow leaves which exhibited one-twentieth the chlorophyll content of normal plants. Affected leaves did not increase their chlorophyll content when plants were incubated at permissive temperatures, but leaves which developed at the lower temperature contained increased amounts of chlorophyll. Similarly, only new leaves, not previously grown leaves, exhibited the yellow phenotype when the mutant plant was shifted from the permissive temperature to the nonpermissive temperature. Ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase activity was decreased by half, relative to normal plants, in the mutant plants grown at the nonpermissive temperature, indicating that general protein synthesis was not greatly impaired and that the effect of the mutation was perhaps specific for chlorophyll content. HPLC analysis indicated that carotenoid content was not diminished to the same extent as chlorophyll and we have determined that the thylakoid protein kinase is not altered, as is the case for other chlorophyll b-deficient mutants. Experiments suggest that changes in photoperiod may be able to modulate the effect of temperature.  相似文献

Conserved eukaryotic signaling proteins participate in development and disease in plant-pathogenic fungi. Strains with mutations in CGA1, a heterotrimeric G protein G alpha subunit gene of the maize pathogen Cochliobolus heterostrophus, are defective in several developmental pathways. Conidia from CGA1 mutants germinate as abnormal, straight-growing germ tubes that form few appressoria, and the mutants are female sterile. Nevertheless, these mutants can cause normal lesions on plants, unlike other filamentous fungal plant pathogens in which functional homologues of CGA1 are required for full virulence. Δcga1 mutants of C. heterostrophus were less infective of several maize varieties under most conditions, but not all, as virulence was nearly normal on detached leaves. This difference could be related to the rapid senescence of detached leaves, since delaying senescence with cytokinin also had differential effects on the virulence of the wild type and the Δcga1 mutant. In particular, detached leaves may provide a more readily available nutrient source than attached leaves. Decreased fitness of Δcga1 as a pathogen may reflect conditions under which full virulence requires signal transduction through CGA1-mediated pathways. The virulence of these signal transduction mutants is thus affected differentially by the physiological state of the host.  相似文献
