Zusammenfassung Uferschwalben kehren aus den afrikanischen Winterquartieren in Trupps beiderlei Geschlechts zurück. Erste Beringungsergebnisse belegen, daß zunächst mehrjährige, vermutlich untereinander bekannte Vögel eintreffen, die den Brutplatz aus vergangenen Brutperioden her kennen. Die Masse der später ankommenden Vögel dürfte weitgehend aus einjährigen oder ortsfremden Uferschwalben bestehen, die sich größtenteils erst während der Paarbildung persönlich kennenlernen. Der anfängliche Schwarmzusammenhalt der nacheinander eintreffenden Trupps führt zur Bildung von Subkolonien, die für Brutplätze ab einer bestimmten Größenordnung typisch sind. Uferschwalben- gründen nacheinander mehrere Reviere, d. h. sie besetzen Steilwandbereiche, in denen sie ausschließlich mit den Füßen eine Röhre oder Mulde graben, singen und Bogenflüge starten. Bis auf singende oder bekannte werden Artgenossen im Revier geduldet. Uferschwalben- suchen besetzte Reviere auf. Ohne Röhrenbindung verhalten sie sich still und unauffällig, ihre Grabungsaktivitäten sind von untergeordneter Bedeutung. Die Bindung an ein bestimmtes Revier entwickelt sich individuell verschieden und entscheidet über den Abschluß des Röhrenbaues (Herstellung der Nistkammer). Reviere ohne dauerhafte -Bindung werden von den aufgegeben. Aktivitäten, die auf wachsende Revierbindung eines hindeuten, sind: häufige oder/und länger dauernde Aufenthalte des in einem besetzten Revier und sporadisches Mitgraben; aggressives Verhalten gegenüber Artgenossen (i. d. R. fremde ), die im Revier landen wollen; gemeinschaftlicher, leiser Gesang von und im Röhrenbereich. Aktivitäten, die für eine vollzogene Paarbildung sprechen, sind: Fertigstellen der Röhre durch Grabung der Nestkammer; längere gemeinsame Aufenthalte innerhalb und außerhalb der Röhre; Voranfliegen des beim Röhrenanflug; Übernachten von und in der Röhre; Nestbau; ausdauernde Verfolgungsflüge während der Kopulationsphase. Die Paarbildung ist demnach ein individueller Prozeß, bei dem die Aktivitäten der im Revier als Werbung, die der als Revierwahl interpretiert werden.
On pair-formation in the Sand Martin,Riparia riparia
Summary European Sand Martins arrive at their breeding sites in flocks of usually unmated and . Ringing results of a large population in NW-Germany and own observations indicate that the first flocks about a dozen individuals with an approximately balanced sex ratio appear at traditional breeding places and consist of older, experienced resident birds (presumably acquainted with one another). The birds arriving over the next several weeks are mainly first-year or non-resident individuals. The flocks arrive separately in areas with suitable sandcliffs, synchronize the pair-formation activities and avoid disturbances among paired and unpaired birds. This behaviour causes the formation of subcolonies, which are typical for all densely occupied breeding places. Each settles on a fixed area on the sandcliff (territory) in order to excavate a burrow, to sing the territory-song (fig. 2 b) and to perfor the territory-circle-flight (fig. 2 c, 4 a). Silent birds (normally ) are welcomed or tolerated by the resident . The sexes are monomorphic and therefore courtship displays of the are non-aggressive until establishment of pair-bonds. Only intruding singing or individually known neighbouring are driven away, usually at early stages of territory occupation. Unmated are normally shy and very sensitive to protracted disturbances. visit several occupied territories of the colony (fig. 1–3) in order to choose a burrow. leave territories which do not attract a . They settle new territories on the sandcliff, causing a surplus of burrows compared to breeding pairs in the colony. Activities which indicate completed pair-bonds are: completion of the burrow by digging the nestchamber, predominantly done by the ; both birds staying together over long periods, both inside and outside the burrow; invitation-flight by the (fig. 4 b); and spending the night together in the burrow; beginning of nest-building, first only by the , then by both birds and finally only by the , accompanied by the (guarding-flight;, fig. 4c); mate-pursuit flights (sexual chases) during copulation phase, in which the singing pursues the silent , often accompanied by other (cp. fig. 4 d). Pair-formation in the Sand Martin occurs on individual territories and not, according toHickling (1959), within the flock.

Summary The appearance of and subunits of skeletal tropomyosin in early myogenesis was studied histochemically using monoclonal antibody to tropomyosin and affinity-purified polyclonal antibody to tropomyosin. In muscle cells, in both somites and limb buds, the and subunits are simultaneously expressed and first appear in the somites at the 30–36 somites. The relatively greater amount of than tropomyosin found in early myogenesis is thus likely to result from a higher rate of tropomyosin synthesis.  相似文献

-N-Acetyl-d-hexosaminidase from Aspergillus oryzae catalysed the stereo- and regiospecific formation of the 6-O-benzylated disaccharide derivatives GalNAc1-3(6- OBn)Gal-SEt and GlcNAc1-3(6-OBn)Gal-SEt, which were obtained in transglycosylation reactions employing ethyl 6- O-benzyl-1-thio--d-galactopyranoside as acceptor. Preparative amounts of the chitobiose derivative GlcNAc1- 3GlcNAc-OPhNO2-p was prepared as well. - N-Acetyl-d-hexosaminidase from bovine testes catalysed the specific synthesis of GlcNAc1-3(6-OBn)GlcNH2-SEt and GalNAc1-3(6-OBn)GlcNH2-SEt, employing ethyl 2-amino-6-O-benzyl-2-deoxy-1-thio--d-glucopyranoside as acceptor. -d-Glucuronidase from E. coli was found to catalyse the formation of GlcA1-3(6-OBn)GlcNH2- SEt employing the same acceptor.  相似文献

T-cell clones expressing the T-cell receptor (Tcr) were generated from peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) and from a thymus sample. In the panel of ten thymus-derived clones, four Tcr phenotypes [as defined by the reaction of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) directed against known V and V regions] were identified. All the clones lacked expression of the V3 V region, while seven clones were V1+ . V1 was found in combination with V9 or with undefined VVregions. In addition, two other Tcr phenotypes were identified on these clones: V9+ V1 V3 and V9 V1 V3 One of the clones expressed CD4 and another was CD8positive. The remaining clones were CD4 CD8. In the panel of 76 PBL-derived, Tcr-bearing clones, five Tcr phenotypes could be identified. In contrast to the thymus-derived clones, 30% of the clones were V3+ whereas V1 was expressed by a minority of the clones only. One clone was CD4-positive and approximately 30% of the clones were CD8-positive. Four of the five mAb-defined Tcr phenotypes could be identified on both thymus and PBL-derived T-cell clones. However, biochemical analysis of the Tcrs demonstrates differences in the usage of Ct- and C2-encoded y chains by T cells derived from the thymus and PBLs. The results therefore indicate that, at the clonal level, similarities and differences exist between the Tcr repertoires expressed in the thymus and by PBLs. Furthermore, they indicate that combinatorial Tcr heterogeneity is larger than has so far been described. The receptor diversity, combined with the potential of Tcr+ cells to express CD4 or CD8, indicates that these cells are a heterogeneous population that might mediate a number of immune functions.  相似文献

Conversion of methanol to CH4 has a large isotope effect so that a small contribution of methanol-dependent CH4 production may decrease the 13CH4 of total CH4 production. Therefore, we investigated the role of methanol for CH4 production. Methanol was not detectable above 10 M in anoxic methanogenic rice field soil. Nevertheless, addition of 13C-labeled methanol (99% enriched) resulted in immediate accumulation of 13CH4. Addition of 0.1 M 13C-methanol resulted in increase of the 13CH4 from –47 to –6 within 2 h, followed by a slow decrease. Addition of 1 M 13C-methanol increased 13CH4 to +500 within 4 h, whereas 10 M increased 13CH4 to +2500 and continued to increase. These results indicate that the methanol concentrations in situ, which diluted the 13C-methanol added, were 0.1 M and that the turnover of methanol contributed only about 2% to total CH4 production at 0.1 M. However, contribution increased up to 5 and 17% when 1 and 10 M methanol were added, respectively. Anoxic rice soil that was incubated at different temperatures between 10 and 37 °C exhibited maximally 2–6% methanol-dependent methanogenesis about 1–2 h after addition of 1 M 13C-methanol. Only at 50 °C, contribution of methanol to CH4 production reached a maximum of 10%. After longer (7–10 h) incubation, however, contribution generally was only 2–4%. Methanol accumulated in the soil when CH4 production was inhibited by chloroform. However, the accumulated methanol accounted for only up to 0.7 and 1.2% of total CH4 production at 37 and 50 °C, respectively. Collectively, our results show that methanol-dependent methanogenesis was operating in anoxic rice field soil but contributed only marginally to total CH4 production and the isotope effect observed at both low and high temperature.  相似文献

Two olive (Olea europaea L.) genotypes, Frantoio and Leccino, were exposed to increasing concentrations of NaCl (0-30-60-120 mM) in an aeroponic cultivation system for 60 days. Dry weights and sodium and potassium contents of apical and basal leaves, new and old wood, and roots were measured to determine Na uptake rate, Na translocation rate and K-Na selectivity ratio (SK,Na). Frantoio showed a higher salt resistance than Leccino. Frantoio and Leccino had a similar Na uptake rate, but largely differed for Na translocation to the shoot. Furthermore Frantoio exhibited a higher K-Na selectivity than Leccino at both whole plant level and above all at the level of shoot system. Resistance mechanism of Frantoio is probably related to Na esclusion by roots and to the ability to maintain an appropriate K/Na ratio in actively growing tissues.Research supported by National Research Council of Italy, Special project RAISA.  相似文献

Summary Phytophthora infestans has three kinds of somatic nuclei: an oval shaped nucleus (approx. 3.1×2.7 ) which stains diffusely except for a crescent shaped Feulgen positive cap which stains intensely; a granular nucleus whose contents are organized into a fairly constant number of stained bodies, and, a deeply staining condensed nucleus. The capped nucleus is thought to be metabolic or resting and the granular nucleus is thought to be dividing as it is most commonly found in hyphal tips. Attenuated forms of all three kinds of nuclei are found.Nuclear division is mitotic and intranuclear. Eight—ten chromosomes are seen at metaphase.Sporangia have a mean of 6.3 nuclei which is constant for age and strain of culture. Sporangia become multinucleate as a result of nuclear migration and not by division in the developing sporangium. Zoospores are usually uninucleate.The nuclear cap is persistent throughout nuclear division when it also divides. The present study sought to identify and partially characterize the glycoconjugates specific to the double-layered ciliary body epithelium of the rat eye by lectin histochemistry and lectin blottings. Hydrated paraffin sections of Carnoy-fixed Sprague-Dawley rat eyes were stained with a panel of 21 different biotinylated lectins, followed by streptavidin-peroxidase and the glucose oxidase-diaminobenzidine-nickel staining procedure. The results of lectin histochemistry revealed that the inner epithelial layer was rich in GlcNAc(1,4)GlcNAc, -Gal, Gal(1,3)GalNAc, GalNAc(1,3)GalNAc/Gal, GalNAc(1,6)Gal, Fuc(1,2)Gal(1,4)GlcNAc and Gal(1,4)GlcNAc(1,2)Man(1,6) sugar residues as shown by its positive reactivities with S-WGA, PWA, DSA, GS-I-B4, PNA, DBA, SBA, WFA, UEA-I, LTA and PHA-E. The reactivities of GS-I-B4, PNA, DBA and SBA were restricted to the inner layer at the tips of the ciliary processes. On the other hand, the outer epithelial layer was stained evenly by DSA and Jacalin, and partly by MAA, showing that this epithelial layer was rich in GlcNAc(1,4)GlcNAc, Gal(1,3)GalNAc and NeuAc(2,3)Gal disaccharides. These lectin binding patterns of the ciliary body epithelium suggest a topographical and functional difference in this double cell-layered epithelium. Their possible roles in the secretion of aqueous humour and production of ciliary zonule are discussed. Some identified lectin markers specific to these two cell layers may be useful for further experimental studies. Glycoproteins extracted from the dissected ciliary body were separated by SDS-PAGE electrophoresis and analyzed by protein blottings with 8 different lectins. The results showed that at least 10 major membrane-bound glycoproteins, with molecular weights ranging from 30 to 150kD, rich in -GlcNAc, -Gal, /-GalNAc and NeuAc(2,6)Gal residues, were present in the microsomal fraction.  相似文献

Residual toxicities of registered and selected experimental pesticides used on citrus against Agistemus industani Gonzalez (Acari: Stigmaeidae) were compared. Pesticides considered highly toxic to A. industani were: abamectin 0.15 EC at 731ml/ha+FC 435-66 petroleum oil at 46.8l/ha, pyridaben 75WP at 469g/ha, ethion 4EC at 7.01l/ha+FC 435-66 petroleum oil at 46.8l/ha, propargite 6.55 EC at 3.51l/ha, chlorfenapyr 2SC at 1.46l/ha applied alone or in combination with FC 435-66 petroleum oil at 46.8l/ha, sulphur 80DF at 16.81kg/ha, dicofol 4EC at 7.01l/ha, fenbutatin oxide 50WP at 2.24kg/ha, benomyl 50WP at 2.24kg/ha, benomyl 50WP at 1.68kg/ha+ferbam 76 GF at 5.60kg/ha, ferbam 76GF at 11.21kg/ha, neem oil 90EC at 46.8l/ha, and copper hydroxide DF (40% metallic copper) at 4.48kg metallic copper/ha+FC 435-66 petroleum oil at 46.8l/ha. Pesticides that were moderately to slightly toxic included: copper sulphate 98% at 4.48kg metallic copper/ha+FC 435-66 petroleum oil at 46.8l/ha, fenbuconazole 2F at 280ml/ha+FC 435-66 petroleum oil at 46.8l/ha, FC 435-66 petroleum oil applied alone at 46.8l/ha or 23.4l/ha, and diflubenzuron 25WP at 1.40kg/ha. Pesticides that were non-toxic included: fenbuconazole 2F at 585ml/ha, malathion 57EC at 5.85l/ha, FC 435-66 petroleum oil at 46.8l/ha, carbaryl 80S at 3.36kg/ha, chlorpyrifos 4EC at 4.68l/ha, and formetanate 92SP at 1.12kg/ha. Understanding the toxic effects of field weathered pesticides against key predacious mite species is important for effective IPM. The results of this study provide a comparison of direct and indirect toxic effects of various pesticides to A. industani under field conditions.  相似文献

We examined population traits of yellow American eels from nine sites with similar habitat characteristics in each of four rivers in Maine, U.S.A. Migrating silver eels were also collected to compare sex ratio, age and size at migration among the four rivers. Population density and biomass were not significantly different among rivers with mean ranges of 8.4–21.8 eels 100m–2and 380–1485gm–2. Pairwise comparisons of the slopes of weight–length relationships of log transformed data (pooled data: intercept = –6.007, slope = 3.094, r2= 0.99, and n = 3116) revealed no significant differences among rivers. Length–age relationships (pooled data: intercept = 87.826, slope = 23.444, r2= 0.76, and n = 2325) also showed no statistically significant pairwise differences in slopes among rivers. In all rivers, sexual differentiation was complete by 270mm total length and age eleven. The sex ratios of migrating silver eels were not correlated with yellow eel sex ratios among the four rivers. Mean age at migration among the four rivers was significantly different for males only, with a range of 1.3years. Both sexes had some significant differences in size at migration among rivers, but the biological importance of the differences is tenuous (male range: 15mm, female range: 36mm). The yellow and silver eel population traits from these four rivers showed little variation when riverine habitat was isolated. Variations in traits appeared to be greater when eels from non-riverine habitats may have been present.  相似文献

Phosphorylase kinase (PhK) from skeletal muscle is a structurally complex, highly regulated, hexadecameric enzyme of subunit composition ()4. Previous studies have revealed that the activity of its catalytic subunit is controlled by alterations in quaternary structure initiated at allosteric and covalent modification sites on PhK's three regulatory subunits; however, changes in the conformation of the holoenzyme initiated by the catalytic subunit have been more difficult to document. In this study a monoclonal antibody (mAb 79) has been generated against isolated subunit and used as a conformational probe of that subunit. The epitope recognized by this antibody is within the catalytic core of the subunit, between residues 100 and 240, and monovalent fragments of the antibody inhibit the catalytic activity of the holoenzyme, the -calmodulin binary complex, and the free subunit. Activation of PhK by a variety of mechanisms known or thought to act through its regulatory subunits (phosphorylation, ADP binding, or alkaline pH) increased the binding of the holoenzyme to immobilized mAb 79, indicating that activation by any of these distinct mechanisms involves repositioning of the portion of the catalytic domain of the subunit containing the epitope for mAb 79. The activating ligand Mg2+ also stimulated the binding of the PhK holoenzyme to immobilized mAb 79, as well as the binding of mAb 79 to immobilized subunit. Thus, Mg2+ increases the accessibility of the mAb 79 epitope in both the isolated subunit and in the holoenzyme. Our results suggest that previously reported influences of Mg2+ on the quaternary structure of the PhK holoenzyme are directly mediated by the subunit.  相似文献

Occupational exposure to beryllium (Be) and Be compounds occurs in a wide range of industrial processes. A large number of workers are potentially exposed to this metal during manufacturing and processing, so there is a concern regarding the potential carcinogenic hazard of Be. Studies were performed to determine the carcinogenic potential of beryllium sulfate (BeSO4) in cultured mammalian cells. BALB/c3T3 cells were treated with varying concentrations of BeSO4 for 72 h and the transformation frequency was determined after 4 weeks of culturing. Concentrations from 50–200 g BeSO4/ml, caused a concentrationdependent increase (9–41 fold) in transformation frequency. Nontransformed BALB/c3T3 cells and cells from transformed foci induced by BeSO4 were injected into both axillary regions of nude mice. All ten Beinduced transformed cell lines injected into nude mice produced fibrosarcomas within 50 days after cell injection. No tumors were found in nude mice receiving nontransformed BALB/c3T3 cells 90 days postinjection. Gene amplification was investigated in Kras, cmyc, cfos, cjun, csis, erbB2 and p53 using differential PCR while random amplified polymorphic DNA fingerprinting was employed to detect genomic instability. Gene amplification was found in Kras and cjun, however no change in gene expression or protein level was observed in any of the genes by Western blotting. Five of the 10 transformed cell lines showed genetic instability using different random primers. In conclusion, these results indicate that BeSO4 is capable of inducing morphological cell transformation in mammalian cells and that transformed cells induced by BeSO4 are potentially tumorigenic. Also, cell transformation induced by BeSO4 may be attributed, in part, to the gene amplification of Kras and cjun and some BeSO4induced transformed cells possess neoplastic potential resulting from genomic instability.  相似文献

Summary The storage proteins of the endosperm of wheat grain which are known to be controlled by genes on the short arms of the homoeologous group 1 chromosomes are (1) the -gliadins, (2) most of the -gliadins, (3) a few -gliadins and (4) the major lowmolecular-weight subunits of glutenin. Several crosses were made between varieties or genetic lines which had contrasting allelic variants for some of these proteins and which were coded by genes on chromosomes 1A or 1B. The progeny were analysed by one or more of several electrophoretic procedures. The results of all the analyses are consistent with the hypothesis that chromosomes 1A and 1B each contain just one, complex locus, named Gli-A 1 and Gli-B 1 respectively, which contain the genes for the -, - and -gliadins and the low-molecular-weight subunits of glutenin.  相似文献

Summary Motor nerve terminals on white and intermediate muscle fibers of the Atlantic hagfish (Myxine glutinosa, L.) contain translucent synpatic vesicles and about 1–2% dense-core vesicles. Terminals on red muscle fibers contain up to 40% dense-core vesicles with diameter 800–1100 Å. Examinations for formaldehyde-induced fluorescence indicate yellow fluorescence (5-HT ?) apparently corresponding with terminal axons on red muscle fibers in craniovelar muscles. The seed storage globulins from sixHelianthus and four hybrids were studied using mono and bidimensional gel SDS electrophoresis (+ 2 mercaptoethanol). The polypeptide composition of each subunit was determined. Different pairs are specifically expressed according to the species studied. Three typical patterns were discriminated. All the studied species exhibit five subunits: two of them are expressed in all the species (11 and 22). The subunit corresponding to the 11 pair is present inH. petiolaris and in the three populations ofH. annuus studied. The 2b2 pair is common toH. annuus andH. argophyllus. H. petiolaris presents two specific 2a2 and 44 pairs andH. annuus a specific 33 pair. InH. argophyllus 11 33 or 44 are never observed but are replaced by 13 and 31 pairs. Some globulins, poorly represented, are of forms but present chains of higher molecular weights (in the range 54–56 kDa). Expressing variations in the banding patterns between these species by the use of a similarity index reveals complete identity between the three populations ofH. annuus. Identity between the twoH. petiolaris studied is also observed.H. annuus andH. argophyllus appear to be closer to each other thanH. petiolaris concerning the seed storage globulins.  相似文献

Summary This paper deals with the ultrastructure of two types of intranuclear inclusions, nuclear bodies and membranous lamellar bodies, present in hypothalamic pericytes of intact adult rats. The nuclear bodies exhibited simple and granular forms, whereas the membranous lamellar bodies were entirely made up of myelin-like membrane whorls.The occurrence of these bodies in nuclei of pericytes has never been previously reported. The origin and functional meaning of such structures is discussed in the light of recent ultrastructural and biochemical studies on nuclear inclusions.  相似文献

Intracerebroventricular (i.c.v.) choline (50–150 g) increased blood pressure and decreased heart rate in spinal cord transected, hypotensive rats. Choline administered intraperitoneally (60 mg/kg), also, increased blood pressure, but to a lesser extent. The pressor response to i.c.v. choline was associated with an increase in plasma vasopressin. Mecamylamine pretreatment (50 g; i.c.v.) blocked the pressor, bradycardic and vasopressin responses to choline (150 g). Atropine pretreatment (10 g; i.c.v.) abolished the bradycardia but failed to alter pressor and vasopressin responses. Hemicholinium-3 [HC-3 (20 g; i.c.v.)] pretreatment attenuated both bradycardia and pressor responses to choline. The vasopressin V1 receptor antagonist, (-mercapto-, -cyclopenta-methylenepropionyl1, O-Me-Tyr2, Arg8)-vasopressin (10 g/kg) administered intravenously 5 min after choline abolished the pressor response and attenuated the bradycardia-induced by choline. These data show that choline restores hypotension effectively by activating central nicotinic receptors via presynaptic mechanisms, in spinal shock. Choline-induced bradycardia is mediated by central nicotinic and muscarinic receptors. Increase in plasma vasopressin is involved in cardiovascular effects of choline.  相似文献

Results of this investigation demonstrate that exposure to 17 -estradiol differentially and significantly regulates cortical nerve cell outgrowth depending on the cortical region. Parietal and occipital neurons treated with 1 nM 17 -estradiol showed a greater magnitude of neuronal outgrowth whereas outgrowth of temporal cortex neurons was decreased in the presence of 1 nM 17 -estradiol. Frontal cortex neurons showed a consistent enhancement of neuronal outgrowth that did not reach statistical significance. The dose response profile for 17 -estradiol regulation of the macromorphological features exhibited a bimodal dose response relationship whereas the dose response profile for 17 -estradiol regulation of the micromorphological features exhibited a dose response more characteristic of an inverted V-shaped function. An antagonist to the NMDA receptor antagonist, AP5, abolished the growth promoting effect of 17 -estradiol whereas the nuclear estrogen receptor antagonist ICI 182,780 did not. Lastly, neocortical neurons exposed to 17 -estradiol exhibited greater viability and survival than control neurons over a two week period. These data indicate that 17 -estradiol can enhance the growth and viability of select populations of neocortical neurons and that the growth promoting effects of 17 -estradiol can be blocked by an antagonist to the NMDA glutamate receptor and not by an antagonist to the estrogen nuclear receptor.  相似文献

Phosphate was fractionated in Guianese mangrove sediments. Fe(OOH)P was extracted using a Ca-EDTA + Na-dithionite solution buffered at pH 8. CaCO3P was extracted using Na2-EDTA solution at pH 4.5. Next, Acid Soluble Organic Phosphate (ASOP) was extracted by H2SO4 0.5 N. Finally, Residual Organic Phosphate (ROP) was digested with H2SO4 + H2O2. Four representative mangrove stages have been studied: sea edge pioneer mangroves, mature coastal mangroves, mixed riverine mangroves, and declining to dead mangroves. The sum of the P-fractions varied between 638 to 804 g g-1 in pioneer and mixed mangroves respectively. In all the stages, the percentage of inorganic phosphate was larger than 50% of the total P. Fe(OOH)P varied between 221 (pioneer mangrove) to 426 g g-1 (dead mangrove). CaCO3P varied between 75 to 102 g g-1 in mixed, dead or mature mangroves and attained 125 g g-1 in pioneer mangrove. The sum of the concentrations of organic phosphate (ASOP + ROP) increased markedly from the dead mangrove (189 g g-1) to the mixed mangrove (380 g g-1). Guianese mangroves, are relatively rich in total phosphate, possibly because they are narrowly related to the 'Amazon dispersal system. Each mangrove stage can be characterised by a prevailing form of phosphate. The concentrations of these different forms were ascribed to the marked relations with the seawater which controls import or export of suspended matters and to the wave action which controls the resuspension of the sediments and subsequently exchange of phosphate between the suspended matter and the water column.  相似文献
