It is clinically challenging to distinguish between ankle and subtalar joints instability in vivo. Understanding the changes in load-displacement at the ankle and subtalar joints after ligament injuries may detect specific changes in joint characteristics that cannot be detected by investigating changes in range of motion alone. The effect of restricting joints end range of motion with ankle braces was already established, but little is known about the effect of an ankle brace on the flexibility of the injured ankle and subtalar joints. Therefore, the purposes of this study were to (1) understand how flexibility is affected at the ankle and subtalar joints after sectioning lateral and intrinsic ligaments during combined sagittal foot position and inversion and during internal rotation and (2) investigate the effect of a semi-rigid ankle brace on the ankle and subtalar joint flexibility. Kinematics and kinetics were collected from nine cadaver feet during inversion through the range of ankle flexion and during internal rotation. Motion was applied with and without a brace on an intact foot and after sequentially sectioning the calcaneofibular ligament (CFL) and the intrinsic ligaments. Segmental flexibility was defined as the slope of the angle-moment curve for each 1 Nm interval. Early flexibility significantly increased at the ankle and subtalar joint after CFL sectioning during inversion. The semi-rigid ankle brace significantly decreased early flexibility at the subtalar joint during inversion and internal rotation for all ligament conditions and at the ankle joint after all ligaments were cut.  相似文献

Patients with subtalar joint instability may be misdiagnosed with ankle instability, which may lead to chronic instability at the subtalar joint. Therefore, it is important to understand the difference in kinematics after ligament sectioning and differentiate the changes in kinematics between ankle and subtalar instability. Three methods may be used to determine the joint kinematics; the Euler angles, the Joint Coordinate System (JCS) and the helical axis (HA). The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of using either method to detect subtalar and ankle joints instability. 3D kinematics at the ankle and subtalar joint were analyzed on 8 cadaveric specimens while the foot was intact and after sequentially sectioning the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL), the calcaneofibular ligament (CFL), the cervical ligament and the interosseous talocalcaneal ligament (ITCL). Comparison in kinematics calculated from sensor and anatomical landmarks was conducted as well as the influence of Euler angles and JCS rotation sequence (between ISB recommendation and previous research) on the subtalar joint. All data showed a significant increase in inversion when the ITCL was sectioned. There were differences in the data calculated using sensors coordinate systems vs. anatomic coordinate systems. Anatomic coordinate systems were recommended for these calculations. The Euler angle and JCS gave similar results. Differences in Euler angles and JCS sequence lead to the same conclusion in detecting instability at the ankle and subtalar joint. As expected, the HA detected instability in plantarflexion at the ankle joint and in inversion at the subtalar joint.  相似文献

The restoration of original range and pattern of motion is the primary goal of joint replacement and ligament reconstruction. The objective of the present work is to investigate whether or not a preferred path of joint motion at the intact human ankle complex is exhibited during passive flexion. A rig was built to move the ankle complex through its range of flexion while applying only the minimum necessary load to drive ankle flexion. Joint motion was constrained only by the articular surfaces and the ligaments. The movements of the calcaneus, talus and fibula relative to the stationary tibia in seven cadaveric specimens were tracked with a stereophotogrammetric system. It was shown that the calcaneus follows a unique path of unresisted coupled motion relative to the tibia and that most of the motion occurred at the ankle, with little motion at the subtalar level. The calcaneofibular and the tibiocalcaneal ligaments showed near-isometric pattern of rotations. All specimens showed motion of the axis of rotation relative to the bones. Deviations from the unique path due to the application of load involved mostly subtalar motion and were resisted. The ankle complex exhibits one degree of unresisted freedom, the ankle behaving as a single degree of freedom mechanism and the subtalar as a flexible structure. We deduced that the calcaneofibular and tibiocalcaneal ligaments together with the articular surfaces guide ankle passive motion, other ligaments limit but do not guide motion.  相似文献

During a maximal isometric plantar flexion effort the moment measured at the dynamometer differs from the resultant ankle joint moment. The present study investigated the effects of contraction form and contraction velocity during isokinetic plantar/dorsal flexion efforts on the differences between resultant and measured moments due to the misalignment between ankle and dynamometer axes. Eleven male subjects (age: 31+/-6 years, mass: 80.6+/-9.6 kg, height: 178.4+/-7.4 cm) participated in this study. All subjects performed isometric-shortening-stretch-isometric contractions induced by electrical stimulation at three different angular velocities (25 degrees /s, 50 degrees /s and 100 degrees /s) on a customised dynamometer. The kinematics of the leg were recorded using the vicon 624 system with eight cameras operating at 250 Hz. The resultant moments at the ankle joint were calculated through inverse dynamics. The relative differences between resultant and measured ankle joint moments due to axis misalignment were fairly similar in all phases of the isometric-shortening-stretch-isometric contraction (in average 5-9% of the measured moment). Furthermore these findings were independent of the contraction velocity. During dynamic plantar/dorsal flexion contractions the differences between measured and resultant joint moment are high enough to influence conclusions regarding the mechanical response of ankle extensor muscles. However the relative differences were not increased during dynamic contractions as compared to isometric contractions.  相似文献

This study was designed to test the assumption that elastic tissues of the ankle are prestressed, by investigating the presence of simultaneous opposite passive elastic moments and thus, passive co-tension, at the ankle joint. A prestressed two-spring model used to generate qualitative predictions of the effects of stretching the posterior elastic structures of the ankle on the net passive moment of this joint was used. Twenty-seven healthy individuals were subjected to passive evaluation of the net elastic moment of the ankle in the sagittal plane, with the knee positioned at 90°, 60°, 30° and 0° of flexion, in order to change the length of the posterior biarticular elastic structures. The placement of the knee in the more extended positions caused changes in the net passive moment as predicted by the prestressed model. The ankle position in which the net passive moment was equal to zero was shifted to more plantar flexed positions (p<0.001) and there was a global increase in ankle stiffness since both passive dorsiflexion stiffness (p≤0.037) and passive plantar flexion stiffness (p≤0.029) increased. The normalized terminal plantar flexion stiffness also increased (p≤0.047), suggesting that biarticular posterior elastic structures are pre-strained and still under tension when the ankle is maximally plantar flexed and the knee is positioned at 60° of flexion. Resting positions were indicative of equilibrium between opposite passive elastic moments. The results revealed that there is passive co-tension at the ankle, demonstrating the existence of prestress in elastic structures of this joint.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to clarify how foot deformation affects the relationship between triceps surae muscle-tendon unit (MTU) length and ankle joint angle. For six women and six men a series of sagittal magnetic resonance (MR) images of the right foot were taken, and changes in MTU length (the displacement of the calcaneal tuberosity), foot arch angle, and ankle joint angle were measured. In the passive session, each subject's ankle joint was secured at 10° dorsiflexed position, neutral position (NP), and 10° and 20° plantar flexed positions while MR images were acquired. In the active session, each subject was requested to perform submaximal isometric plantar flexions (30%, 60%, and 80% of voluntary maximum) at NP. The changes in MTU length in each trial were estimated by two different formulae reported previously. The changes of the measured MTU length as a function of ankle joint angles observed in all trials of the active session were significantly (p<0.05) larger than corresponding values in the passive session and by the estimation formulae. In the passive session, MTU length changes were significantly smaller than the estimated values when the ankle was plantar flexed. The foot arch angle increased as the contraction level increased from rest (117 ± 4°) to 80% (125 ± 3°), and decreased as the ankle was positioned further into plantar flexion in the passive session (115 ± 3°). These results indicate that foot deformation profoundly affects the triceps surae MTU length-ankle joint angle relationship during plantar flexion.  相似文献

Ligament sprains, defined as tearing of bands of fibrous tissues within ligaments, account for a majority of injuries to the foot and ankle complex in field-based sports. External rotation of the foot is considered the primary injury mechanism of syndesmotic ankle sprains with concomitant flexion and inversion/eversion associated with particular patterns of ligament trauma. However, the influence of the magnitude and direction of loading vectors to the ankle on the in situ stress state of the ligaments has not been quantified in the literature. The objective of the present study was to search for the maximum injury tolerance of a human foot with an acceptable subfailure distribution of individual ligaments. We used a previously developed and comprehensively validated foot and ankle model to reproduce a range of combined foot rotation experienced during high-risk sports activities. Biomechanical computational investigation was performed on initial foot rotation from \(20{^{\circ }}\) of plantar flexion to \(15{^{\circ }}\) of dorsiflexion, and from \(15{^{\circ }}\) of inversion to \(15{^{\circ }}\) of eversion prior to external rotation. Change in initial foot rotation shifted injury initiation among different ligaments and resulted in a wide range of injury tolerances at the structural level (e.g., 36–125 Nm of rotational moment). The observed trend was in agreement with a parallel experimental study that initial plantar flexion decreased the incidence of syndesmotic injury compared to a neutral foot. A mechanism of distributing even loads across ligaments subjected to combined foot rotations was identified. This mechanism is potential to obtain the maximum load-bearing capability of a foot and ankle while minimizing the injury severity of ligaments. Such improved understanding of ligament injuries in athletes is necessary to facilitate injury management by clinicians and countermeasure development by biomechanists.  相似文献

This study investigated the influence of tendon elongation (TE) on postcontraction doublet (PCD) torque in the assessment of activation in the plantar flexors of nine elderly men (EM, age 73.7 +/- 3.6 yr) and nine young men (YM, age 24.7 +/- 4.7 yr). Plantar flexion maximal voluntary contractions (MVC) and activation were assessed at ankle joint angles of -20 degrees (dorsiflexion), 0 degrees , and 20 degrees (plantar flexion). Across the ankle joint angles tested, compared with YM, the EM had a 36-49% lower plantar flexion MVC (P < 0.01), TE was greater by 25-31% (P < 0.01), and electromechanical delay was 65-108% greater (P < 0.01). Activation (PCD torque to interpolated doublet torque) was 15% lower in EM compared with YM at -20 degrees (P < 0.05), but no different at 0 and 20 degrees . In the EM, PCD torque relative to MVC torque was significantly lower at 20 degrees compared with 0 degrees (P < 0.05). Electromechanical delay was positively correlated with TE (R(2) = 0.489, P < 0.01). In conclusion, this investigation demonstrates that, although a negative association exists between TE and PCD torque, the consequence of a greater TE on the estimation of activation in EM is negligible. This is due to a greater influence of ankle joint angle on the occlusion of a superimposed doublet, which counteracts the lesser influence of joint angle on TE and PCD torque. However, a greater TE in EM was found to significantly increase electromechanical delay, which is expected to influence the time needed for postural readjustments.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of wearing figure skating skates on vertical jump performance and interjoint co-ordinations described in terms of sequencing and timing of joint rotations. Ten national to international figure skaters were filmed while performing a squat jump (SJ) on a force platform. Three experimental conditions were successively realized: barefoot (BF), lifting a 1.5 kg weight (LW) corresponding to the skates' mass, attached on the distal extremity of each leg and wearing skates (SK). Jump height, angular kinematics as well as joints kinetics were calculated. Relative to the SJ height reached in the BF condition, SJ performance was significantly decreased by 2.1 and 5.5 cm in the LW and SK conditions, respectively. The restriction of ankle amplitude imposed by wearing skates was found to significantly limit the knee joint amplitude while the hip angular motion was not affected. Neither the skates' mass nor the limited ankle angular motion modified the proximo-distal organization of joint co-ordination observed when jumping barefoot. However, with plantar flexion restriction, the delay between hip and knee extensions increased while it was reduced between knee and ankle extensions. Work output at the knee and ankle joints were significantly lowered when wearing skates. The decrease of work at the knee was shown to result from an early flexing moment causing a premature deceleration of the knee and from a reduction of knee amplitude. Taken together, these results show a minimization of the participation of the knee when plantar flexion is limited. It was proposed that constraining the distal joint causes a reorganization of interjoint co-ordinations and a redistribution of the energy produced by knee extensors to the hip and ankle joints.  相似文献

The relationships between neuromuscular performance and biomechanical variables were studied in maximum vertical jumps to examine the factors influencing the performance of a noncountermovement jump. Keeping their knee and hip joint fully extended, five healthy subjects performed four kinds of noncountermovement jumps and one countermovement jump, during which ankle joint angle, platform force, and surface electromyograms of a triceps surae muscle were recorded. In the four noncountermovement jumps, the magnitude of activation and force at the onset of a shortening contraction of the triceps surae muscle were controlled at four different levels. Performance parameters of the noncountermovement jumps, maximum angular velocity of the ankle angle and flight time, correlated with the platform force at the onset of the plantar flexion. Furthermore the integrated electromyograms of the triceps surae muscle before the plantar flexion were correlated with the maximum angular velocity of the ankle angle and the force at the plantar flexion onset. The findings suggest that the efficient utilization of the muscle characteristic contributes to an enhancement of the noncountermovement jump.  相似文献

The purpose of this investigation was to determine the effect of different types of ankle sprains on the response latency of the peroneus longus and peroneus brevis to an inversion perturbation, as well as the time to complete the perturbation (time to maximum inversion). To create a forced inversion moment of the ankle, an outer sole with fulcrum was used to cause 25 degrees of inversion at the ankle upon landing from a 27 cm step-down task. Forty participants completed the study: 15 participants had no history of any ankle sprain, 15 participants had a history of a lateral ankle sprain, and 10 participants had a history of a high ankle sprain. There was not a significant difference between the injury groups for the latency measurements or the time to maximum inversion. These findings indicate that a previous lateral ankle sprain or high ankle sprain does not affect the latency of the peroneal muscles or the time to complete the inversion range of motion.  相似文献

In isokinetic experiments on human subjects, conducted to determine moments that can be exerted about a joint at different angular velocities, joint rotation starts as soon as the moment increases above the resting level. This contraction history differs from the one in experiments on isolated muscle, where the force is allowed to increase to an isometric level before shortening is initiated. The purpose of the present study was to determine the influence of contraction history on plantar flexing moments found during maximal voluntary plantar flexion on an isokinetic dynamometer. In ten subjects, plantar flexing moments were measured as a function of ankle angle at different angular velocities. They were also calculated using a model of the muscle-tendon complex of the human triceps surae. The model incorporates elastic tendinous tissue in series with muscle fibers. The input of the model consists of time histories of active state (the force generating capacity of contractile elements) and shortening velocity of the muscle-tendon complex. Different time courses of active state were offered at fixed length of the muscle-tendon complex. The time course yielding a close match between the calculated rise of plantar flexing moment and the rise measured during fixed angle contractions was used to calculate moment-angle curves for isokinetic plantar flexion. The active state value reached when a peak occurred in calculated moment-angle curves was found to be lower if the angular velocity was made higher. Comparing measured and calculated results, it was concluded that moment-angular velocity diagrams determined in studies of isokinetic plantar flexion in human subjects reflect not only the influence of shortening velocity of contractile elements on the force which can be produced by plantar flexors.  相似文献

Previous studies reported the effect of flatfoot deformity on tibiotalar joint contact characteristics. The lateral shift of the load which occurred in flatfeet may be responsible for degenerative changes in the ankle joint. The purpose was to assess the pattern of joint contact stress of the tibiotalar joint in intact, flat, and corrected specimens with subtalar arthroereisis. Seven fresh-frozen cadaver specimens were studied in the intact and flat-footed condition after transection of ligaments which support the medial arch. Ankle joint contact stress and plantar pressure patterns were determined from a capacitive pressure sensor inserted in the tibiotalar joint and a pressure distribution platform when the specimens were axially loaded in simulated mid-stance. Contact pressure was also assessed after subtalar arthroereisis with a 12 mm Kalix implant for correction of the flatfoot deformity. A maximum contact pressure of 1414.2±319.2 kPa was recorded in the middle-medial region in intact specimens. Flatfoot caused a lateral shift in the pressure distribution (p<0.05). In the flat specimens, the maximum contact pressure of 1394.7 8±470.5 kPa was in the anterior-central region. After subtalar arthroereisis with the Kalix implant for correction of the flatfoot deformity a maximum contact pressure of 1323.3±497.5 kPa was observed in the middle-lateral region. In a cadaver model, subtalar arthroereisis with Kalix implant failed to restore a normal intraarticular ankle joint pressure pattern. Further interventions should be considered to restore a normal pressure pattern.  相似文献

In a simple bipedal walking model, an impulsive push along the trailing limb (similar to ankle plantar flexion) or a torque at the hip can power level walking. This suggests a tradeoff between ankle and hip muscle requirements during human gait. People with anterior hip pain may benefit from walking with increased ankle pushoff if it reduces hip muscle forces. The purpose of our study was to determine if simple instructions to alter ankle pushoff can modify gait dynamics and if resulting changes in ankle pushoff have an effect on hip muscle requirements during gait. We hypothesized that changes in ankle kinetics would be inversely related to hip muscle kinetics. Ten healthy subjects walked on a custom split-belt force-measuring treadmill at 1.25m/s. We recorded ground reaction forces and lower extremity kinematic data to calculate joint angles and internal muscle moments, powers and angular impulses. Subjects walked under three conditions: natural pushoff, decreased pushoff and increased pushoff. For the decreased pushoff condition, subjects were instructed to push less with their feet as they walked. Conversely, for the increased pushoff condition, subjects were instructed to push more with their feet. As predicted, walking with increased ankle pushoff resulted in lower peak hip flexion moment, power and angular impulse as well as lower peak hip extension moment and angular impulse (p<0.05). Our results emphasize the interchange between hip and ankle kinetics in human walking and suggest that increased ankle pushoff during gait may help to compensate for hip muscle weakness or injury and reduce hip joint forces.  相似文献

The present study aimed to clarify the effects of knee joint angle on the behavior of the medial gastrocnemius muscle (MG) fascicles during eccentric plantar flexions. Eight male subjects performed maximal eccentric plantar flexions at two knee positions [fully extended (K0) and 90° flexed (K90)]. The eccentric actions were preceded by static plantar flexion at a 30° plantar flexed position and then the ankle joint was forcibly dorsiflexed to 15° of dorsiflexion with an isokinetic dynamometer at 30°/s and 150°/s. Tendon force was calculated by dividing the plantar flexion torque by the estimated moment arm of the Achilles tendon. The MG fascicle length was determined with ultrasonography. The tendon forces during eccentric plantar flexions were influenced by the knee joint angle, but not by the angular velocity. The MG fascicle lengths were elongated as the ankle was dorsiflexed in K0, but in K90 they were almost constant despite the identical range of ankle joint motion. These results suggested that MG fascicle behavior during eccentric actions was markedly affected by the knee joint angle. The difference in the fascicle behavior between K0 and K90 could be attributed to the non-linear force–length relations and/or to the slackness of tendinous tissues.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between the ankle joint angle and maximum isometric force of the toe flexor muscles. Toe flexor strength and electromyography activity of the foot muscles were measured in 12 healthy men at 6 different ankle joint angles with the knee joint at 90 deg in the sitting position. To measure the maximum isometric force of the toe flexor muscles, subjects exerted maximum force on a toe grip dynamometer while the activity levels of the intrinsic and extrinsic plantar muscles were measured. The relation between ankle joint angle and maximum isometric force of the toe flexor muscles was determined, and the isometric force exhibited a peak when the ankle joint was at 70–90 deg on average. From this optimal neutral position, the isometric force gradually decreased and reached its nadir in the plantar flexion position (i.e., 120 deg). The EMG activity of the abductor hallucis (intrinsic plantar muscle) and peroneus longus (extrinsic plantar muscle) did not differ at any ankle joint angles. The results of this study suggest that the force generation of toe flexor muscles is regulated at the ankle joint and that changes in the length-tension relations of the extrinsic plantar muscle could be a reason for the force-generating capacity at the metatarsophalangeal joint when the ankle joint angle is changed.  相似文献

This study examined the impact of lower extremity joint stiffnesses and simulated joint contractures on the muscle effort required to maintain static standing postures after a spinal cord injury (SCI). Static inverse computer simulations were performed with a three-dimensional 15 degree of freedom musculoskeletal model placed in 1600 different standing postures. The required lower extremity muscle forces were calculated through an optimization routine that minimized the sum of the muscle stresses squared, which was used as an index of the muscle effort required for each standing posture. Joint stiffnesses were increased and decreased by 100 percent of their nominal values, and contractures were simulated to determine their effects on the muscle effort for each posture. Nominal muscle and passive properties for an individual with a SCI determined the baseline muscle effort for comparisons. Stiffness changes for the ankle plantar flexion/dorsiflexion, hip flexion/extension, and hip abduction/adduction directions had the largest effect on reducing muscle effort by more than 5 percent, while changes in ankle inversion/eversion and knee flexion/extension had the least effect. For erect standing, muscle effort was reduced by more than 5 percent when stiffness was decreased at the ankle plantar flexion/dorsiflexion joint or hip flexion/extension joint. With simulated joint contractures, the postural workspace area decreased and muscle effort was not reduced by more than 5 percent for any posture. Using this knowledge, methods can be developed through the use of orthoses, physical therapy, surgery or other means to appropriately augment or diminish these passive moments during standing with a neuroprosthesis.  相似文献

The gastrocnemius has been viewed as an important contributor at the knee joint as a joint flexor and stabilizer across all the knee and ankle joint angles. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of knee and ankle joint angles on the knee flexor function of the gastrocnemius. Seventeen participants were tested on a Biodex dynamometer with the gastrocnemius muscle selectively stimulated at a standardized level of electrical current. The results indicated that both ankle and knee joint angle influence the knee joint flexion moment produced by the gastrocnemius. Further analysis revealed that the flexion moment was greatest with the knee joint straight (180 degrees ) across all ankle joint angles. The greatest reduction in knee flexion moment occurred between 180 and 165 degrees of knee angle. No significant difference was observed in the knee flexion moment between 165 degrees and 115 degrees knee flexion, and little knee flexion moment was observed at knee angles of 90 degrees and 75 degrees. The dramatic reduction of moment between 180 degrees and 165 degrees knee angle is possibly due to the change of moment arm while the little moment production during extreme flexion (90 degrees and 75 degrees ) may be due to the reduction of muscle length.  相似文献

The in-vitro, three dimensional kinematic characteristics of the human ankle and subtalar joint were investigated in this study. The main goals of this investigation were: 1) To determine the range of motion of the foot-shank complex and the associated range of motion of the ankle and subtalar joints; 2) To determine the kinematic coupling characteristics of the foot-shank complex, and 3) To identify the relationship between movements at the ankle and subtalar joints and the resulting motion produced between the foot and the shank. The tests were conducted on fifteen fresh amputated lower limbs and consisted of incrementally displacing the foot with respect to the shank while the motion of the articulating bones was measured through a three dimensional position data acquisition system. The kinematic analysis was based on the helical axis parameters describing the incremental displacements between any two of the three articulating bones and on a joint coordinate system used to describe the relative position between the bones. From the results of this investigation it was concluded that: 1) The range of motion of the foot-shank complex in any direction (dorsiflexion/plantarflexion, inversion/eversion and internal rotation/external rotation) is larger than that of either the ankle joint or the subtalar joint.; 2) Large kinematic coupling values are present at the foot-shank complex in inversion/eversion and in internal rotation/external rotation. However, only a slight amount of coupling was observed to occur in dorsiflexion/plantarflexion.; 3) Neither the ankle joint nor the subtalar joint are acting as ideal hinge joints with a fixed axis of rotation.; 4) Motion of the foot-shank complex in any direction is the result of rotations at both the ankle and the subtalar joints. However, the contribution of the ankle joint to dorsiflexion/plantarflexion of the foot-shank complex is larger than that of the subtalar joint and the contribution of the subtalar joint to inversion/eversion is larger than that of the ankle joint.; 5) The ankle and the subtalar joints have an approximately equal contribution to internal rotation/external rotation movements of the foot-shank complex.  相似文献

Increased boot shaft stiffness may have a noticeable impact on the range of motion of the ankle joint. Therefore, the ability of the ankle joint to generate power for propulsion might be impaired. This might result in compensatory changes at the knee and hip joint. Besides, adaptability of the subtalar joint to uneven surface might be reduced, which could in turn affect stability. The aim of the study was therefore to investigate the influence of boot shaft stiffness on biomechanical gait parameters.Fifteen healthy young adults walked over coarse gravel wearing two different hiking boots that differed by 50% in passive shaft stiffness. Leg kinematics, kinetics and electromyography were measured. Gait velocity and indicators for stability were not different when walking with the hard and soft boot shaft over the gravel surface. However, the hard boot shaft decreased the ankle range of motion as well as the eccentric energy absorbed at the ankle joint. As a consequence, compensatory changes at the knee joint were observed. Co-contraction was increased, and greater eccentric energy was absorbed. Therefore, the efficiency of gait with hard boots might be decreased and joint loading at the knee might be increased, which might cause early fatigue of knee muscles during walking or hiking. The results of this study suggest that stiffness and blocking of joint motion at the ankle should not be equated with safety. A trade-off between lateral stiffness and free natural motion of the ankle joint complex might be preferable.  相似文献
