Hedeoma pilosum andH. microphyllum are described as new. The former, an endemic of western Texas, is closely related toH. pusillum andH. apiculatum; the latter is intermediate betweenH. costatum andH. nanum. H. oblongifolium var.mexicanum andH. drummondii var.crenulatum are presented as two new varieties, both of which may have originated as hybrids.Hedeoma crenulatum is proposed as a new name to replaceH. montanum (Brade) Epling & Játiva. Three new combinations are made in the genusHesperozygis, and new status is accorded to two species.  相似文献

Presimoceras is a new genus of Idoceratinae. The biostratigraphical range ofPresimoceras is limited to theStrombecki, Divisum and lower part of theAcanthicum Zone within the Kimmeridgian (in the Southern European sense). The genusMesosimoceras (Idoceratinae) was instituted by Spath (1925), withSimoceras cavouri Gemmellaro as type species; this genus is here emended with the institution ofPresimoceras n. gen. The species groupcavouri-risgoviense is preserved in the emended genusMesosimoceras, while the groupherbichiludovicii-teres is accommodated inPresimoceras on account of the radical and numerous differences and the stratigraphical gap betweenMesosimoceras andPresimoceras. As type species of the new genusAmmonites nodulatus Quenstedt is designated. The new genus is here subdivided into three groups of species:herbichi, ludovicii andteres. Phylogenetically,Presimoceras is derived fromPassendorferia, Mesosimoceras fromNebrodites.  相似文献

A new genus of soft coral from the Republic of Congo is described, Complexum gen. n. Nine West African octocoral species previously described in the genus Alcyonium by Tixier-Durivault (1955) are referred to this new genus, and a new species is described and figured, Complexum pusillum sp. n. The new species is characterized by having encrusting growth form and abundant spiny clubs in the surface of the polyparium. It colonizes shallow calcareous rocky banks (5 to 20 m depth) existing in coastal water of the region of Pointe-Noire. Based on molecular phylogeny this new genus is well separated from Alcyonium species.  相似文献

The Afrotropical Cynipoidea are represented by 306 described species and 54 genera in four families: Cynipidae, Figitidae, Liopteridae and Ibaliidae, the latter represented by a single introduced species. Seven of these genera are only represented by undescribed species in the region. Seven new genus-level synonymies, one genus resurrected from synonymy, 54 new combinations, one combination reinstated, and one new replacement name are presented. We provide identification keys to the families, subfamilies and genera of cynipoid wasps occurring in the Afrotropical region (Africa south of the Sahara, including Madagascar and southern Arabian Peninsula). Online interactive Lucid Phoenix and Lucid matrix keys are available at: http://www.waspweb.org/Cynipoidea/Keys/index.htm. An overview of the biology and checklists of species for each genus are provided. This paper constitutes the first contributory chapter to the book on Afrotropical Hymenoptera.  相似文献

Balboa diversifolia Liebm., known only from the type collection and hitherto of controversial affinity, is here referred to the genusCracca Benth. As the epithetdiversifolia is preoccupied inCracca, the new nameCracca pacifica is proposed. This species is morphologically most similar to the widespreadCracca caribaea.  相似文献

The Tribe Hemilophini (Lamiinae) is reviewed for Hispaniola and an identification key is provided. Fifteen species are now known from the island, including one new species of Adesmus (Adesmus fortunei from Pedernales and La Vega Provinces, Dominican Republic), one new species of Oedudes (Oedudes anulatus from Peravia and La Vega Provinces, Dominican Republic), and five new species of Calocosmus (Calocosmus contortus from San Cristóbal Province, Calocosmus punctatus from Peravia Province, Calocosmus rawlinsi from Elías Piña Province, Calocosmus robustus from La Vega Province, and Calocosmus thonalmus from La Altagracia Province, all in the Dominican Republic). Oedudes and Adesmus are new island and country records for Hispaniola and Dominican Republic, respectively. Calocosmus holosericeus Gahan is a new synonym of Calocosmus janus Bates. In addition to the new species, five new country records and four new island records are presented for Calocosmus.  相似文献

A new stem dugongid species, Prototherium ausetanum sp. nov. (Dugongidae, Halitheriinae), is described based on a cranium from the middle Eocene of Mas Vilageliu (Tona, NE Iberian Peninsula). The new species displays a combination of features that enables its distinction from other halitheriines, including Prototherium veronense (type species of the genus), Prototherium? intermedium (which likely belongs to a different genus), and Prototherium? montserratense (here considered a nomen dubium), as well as Eotheroides spp. In overall morphology (e.g., dolichocephaly) the new species more closely resembles species previously included in Prototherium. However, a cladistic analysis based on craniodental features recovers the new species as the sister taxon of Eotheroides aegyptiacum (type species of this genus), further constituting a polytomy with P. veronense, Eotheroides lambondrano and the remaining Halitheriinae. Our analysis further indicates that P.? intermedium is more derived than other species of Prototherium, but it does not conclusively resolve the phylogenetic relationships between the included species of Prototherium and Eotheroides. A deeper taxonomic revision of these two genera would be required in order to better resolve the phylogeny of early dugongids.  相似文献

A new clausidiid copepod was found living in galleries of ghost shrimps Neocallichirus grandimana (Gibbes, 1850) in Natal, Brazil. The new species resembles to Clausidium senegalense Humes, 1957 and Clausidium vancouverense (Haddon, 1912) in the armature of P2–P5 of the female, and shares with Clausidium senegalense similar segmentation and armature of the antenna and maxilla of the female. Nevertheless, it can be easily distinguished from its congeners by the unique characteristics observed in the antenna, maxilliped and first leg of males, as well as by the anal somite, maxillule and maxilliped of the females. This new species extends the group distribution to the Southwest Atlantic and represents the first record of the genus in Brazil. A key for the identification of the species based on females of Clausidium is provided.  相似文献

We report here on gut contents in partial skeletons of the small pareiasaurParasaurus geinitzi and the archosauromorph reptileProtorosaurus speneri from the Kupferschiefer (Zechstein 1; Upper Permian) of the Richelsdorf Mountains (Hesse). They represent two of the stratigraphically oldest known records of gut contents in terrestrial tetrapods. The gut content of the partial skeleton ofParasaurus comprises a distinct mass of coarse clastic material with interspersed carbonized particles. The occurrence of numerous ovules of the coniferUllmannia frumentaria in the gastric content of the excellently preserved new specimen ofProtorosaurus confirms the suggestion of Weigelt (1930) that portions of this conifer formed part of the diet of this reptile. Surprisingly, the dentition ofProtorosaurus does not reflect this dietary specialization.  相似文献

The material collected in the outcrops of Fombuenaand Luesma allows to specify the distinctive characters of the genera Corylocrinus and Caryocrinites, to describe two new species and to complete the morphology of Heliocrinites rouvillei and Proteocystites hispanica. The Crinoid association of these localities shows a very close composition with that of Coat-Carrec (Finistère). The new observations establish definitively the structure of the dorsal cup and the oral face of Mespilocystites. The occurence of the genera Stichocystis, Eucystis and Mespilocystites is recorded for the first time in Aragon. Cystoids and Crinoids confirm the existence of Ashgillian in the western part of the Armorican Massive.  相似文献

Frasnian tentaculites from western part of Central-Afghanistan are described. Six of the 11 studied species are new:Dicricoconus dupliannulatus n. sp.,Dicricoconus ghukensis n. sp.,Dicricoconus gracilis n. sp.,Dicricoconus harundata n. sp.,Volynites kaminjensis n. sp. andAlternatus spatiosus n. sp. The fauna is appearing in two stratigraphic levels. The occurrence ofTentaculites donensis respectively ofDicricoconus tichomirovi, Dicricoconus tragula andUniconus livnensis confirmes the middle-upperfrasnian respectively the upperfrasnian age of both levels. The Devonian basin of Ghuk area was connected with the epicontinental sea of the Russian Plateform throughout the Frasnian and with the Libyan basin at least during upperfrasnian time.  相似文献

A new genus and new species of an ichthyodectiform fish, a new species of the pachyrizodontid Goulmimichthys, as well as specimens of Araripichthys sp. are described from the Agua Nueva Formation (Turonian) of Vallecillo, State of Nuevo León, NE Mexico. The ichthyodectiform fish shows a combination of characters from different families, warranting the creation of a new genus and questioning the monophyly of these families. We report herein the first record of Goulmimichthys and Araripichthys in North America. To cite this article: A. Blanco, L. Cavin, C.R. Palevol 2 (2003).  相似文献
