This review summarizes the flavonoids isolated from three genera, namely, Aconitum, Delphinium, and Consolida, belonging to tribe Delphineae in the Ranunculaceae family for the first time. A total of 104 distinct flavonoid components, including 85 flavonols, 13 anthocyanins, four flavones, and two neoflavones, have been isolated from 44 members of tribe Delphineae. Flavonols account for the largest proportion and can be regarded as the dominant group of flavonoids in this tribe. Of the 104 isolated flavonoids, 55 are novel, indicating the high chemical diversity among the flavonoid constituents of Delphineae plants. Flavonoids in Delphineae plants exhibit chemotaxonomic significance, characterizing certain Delphineae species well. Flavonol glycosides, as the major flavonoid constituents in the investigated Delphineae species, could also serve as valuable chemotaxonomic markers in addition to diterpenoid alkaloids for the identification of Delphineae species.  相似文献

Podoimbricatin A (1), a diterpenoid possessing an unprecedented 6/6/5/6-fused tetracyclic ring system, and podoimbricatin B (2), a new abietane-type diterpenoid, together with four previously reported diterpenoids and a cyclic peptide were isolated from the twigs and leaves of Podocarpus imbricatus. Their structures were established on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analyses and the relative configuration of 1 was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. A plausible biogenetic pathway involving hetero-Diels–Alder cycloaddition as a key reaction is proposed for 1. Compounds 1, 5, and 7 showed inhibitory effects against the A549 and NCI-H292 cancer cell lines.  相似文献

One year after the deposition of radionuclides from the Fukushima 1 Nuclear Power Plant (A formal name is Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station) in March 2011, radiocesium (134Cs, 137Cs) concentrations ([Cs]) were comprehensively investigated in the wild plants of 99 species most of which were annual or summer green perennial herbs and started to grow from April 2012 at the heavily contaminated fields of paddy (three study sites) and upland (one study site) in Fukushima Prefecture. The survey was conducted three times (April, July and October) in the year. In each site, soils (soil cores of 5-cm depth) and plants (aerial shoots) were collected for determination of [Cs] on a dry weight basis, and then the transfer factor (TF) of radiocesium from soil to plant ([Cs]plant/[Cs]soil) was estimated in each species. The [Cs] values of both soils and plants largely varied. However, some species exhibited relatively high TF values (more than 0.4) (e.g., Athyrium yokoscense, Dryopteris tokyoensis, and Cyperus brevifolius), while others exhibited almost negligible values (less than 0.01) (e.g., Salix miyabeana, Humulus scandens, and Elymus tsukushiensis). In addition, judging from the 11 species grown in both paddy and upland fields, TF values were generally higher in the paddy fields. The estimation of phytoextraction efficiency of soil radiocesium by weed communities in the paddy fields suggests that the weed community is not a practical candidate for phytoremediation technique.  相似文献

Nigerian species ofPortulaca: P. grandiflora Hooker,P. oleracea L. andP. quadrifida L. combine inbreeding, outbreeding and vegetative propagation in the wild and in the oultivation. Observations have shown that the anthers ofPortulaca species dehisces before the flower bud opens, and are usually ripe at the time the stigmas are receptive. The essential oils of fourteen liverwort specimens from nine species of the Jungermanniales have been examined as to their sesquiterpenes. The barbatenes prove to be present in detectable amounts in all but one species. Bazzanene is frequently found with the barbatenes and new chemical evidence does not support the previously assigned structure but is consistent with a structure diastereomeric to trichodiene. This is consistent with a biogenetic rationale for the barbatene skeleton. Anasterptene, a novel crystalline tetracyclic hydrocarbon, has been found in numerous oils, and chemical degradation established a common skeleton with myliol. The samples of genus Scapania elaborate sesquiterpenes of the enantiomeric humulene-longifolene sequence. New members of this group found are (?)-β-longipinene, (?)-longipipanol, and (+)-γ-himachalene. The related germacrene series is represented by a cadinene, (?)-α-ylangene, and (?)-sativene. A series of cis-fused selinenes have also been found, which are more closely allied to the germacrene-sativene group than to typical trans-fused selinenes. One of these selinenes is shown to be the same as the material previously designated as sibirene. Scapania undulata also elaborates (+)-α- and β-chamigrene, and a number of novel hydrocarbons of still unknown structure.  相似文献

Establishing seedlings in subtropical plantations is very important for forest health, succession and management. Information on seedling nutrient concentrations is essential for both the selection of suitable indigenous tree species to accelerate succession of the established plantation and sustainable forest management. In this study, we investigated the concentrations of nitrogen ([N]), phosphorus ([P]), and N∶P ratio in leaves, stems and roots of seedlings of three indigenous tree species (Castanopsis chinensis, Michelia chapensis and Psychotria rubra) transplanted with removing or retaining understory vegetation and litter at two typical subtropical forest plantations (Eucalyptus plantation and native species plantation). We also measured the relative growth rate (RGR) of seedling height, and developed the relationships between RGR and leaf [N], [P] and N∶P ratio. Results showed that treatments of understory vegetation and associated litter (i.e. removal or retained) generally had no significant effects on leaf [N], [P], N∶P ratio and RGR of the transplanted tree seedlings for the experimental period. But among different species, there were significant differences in nutrient concentrations. M. chapensis and P. rubra had higher [N] and [P] compared to C. chinensis. [N] and [P] also varied among different plant tissues with much higher values in leaves than in roots for all indigenous species. RGR of indigenous tree seedlings was mostly positively correlated with leaf [N] and [P], but negatively correlated with leaf N∶P ratio. Considering the low [P] and high N∶P ratio observed in the introduced indigenous tree seedlings, we propose that the current experimental plantations might be P limited for plant growth.  相似文献

Incorporation of radioactivity from [6-14C]orotate into the pyrimidine constituents of shoots of Pisum sativum, Phaseolus vulgaris and Lathyrus tingitanus was examined with special reference to the unusual pyrimidine constituents. With each species, although 80% of the orotate supplied was catabolized to β-alanine, all the pyrimidine derivatives became radioactively labelled. With Pisum, the major part of the radioactivity incorporated into pyrimidines was located in UMP and the uracil derivatives, including the uracilyl amino acids willardiine and isowillardiine. With Phaseolus, UMP and the uracil derivatives were again the major radioactive products; incorporation of radioactivity into 5-ribosyluracil (pseudouridine), which accumulates in Phaseolus tissues, was comparable to the incorporation into orotidine and twice that found in cytidine. Lathyrus incorporated a substantially larger part of the presented [6-14C] orotate into pyrimidine derivatives than did the other two species. CMP was the most highly radioactive product, followed next by lathyrine and UMP. Surprisingly, 20% of the total radioactivity incorporated into pyrimidines by Lathyrus was located in the pyrimidine amino acid lathyrine. This confirms previous evidence that lathyrine is essentially a product of the orotate pathway. The overall recovery of radioactivity in all three species was 93–95%. The data emphasize the necessity of including the less common pyrimidine constituents, as well as the common ones, in quantitative studies of pyrimidine metabolism in plants.  相似文献

Flavone glycosides are the main flavonoid leaf constituents in the related genera Parahebe and Veronica (Scrophulariaceae), in agreement with former chemical studies of the family. In Parahebe there are groups of species in which there are mainly luteolin glycosides, and groups in which 6-hydroxyluteolin dominates. Small amounts of apigenin occur in many taxa. Glycosylation is usually in the 7-position but 4′- and 5-glycosides were also found. In Veronica a larger variety of flavone aglycones was found: e.g. luteolin, apigenin, chrysoeriol, tricin and three different 6-hydroxyflavones. They are often present in the plants in the form of glucuronides. Glycosylation is in the 7-or-5-position. Most species of both genera have a distinctive pattern of flavonoid glycosides in their leaves which can be used for identification. Populations of P. catarractae are an exception in showing three different patterns, but here the variety in flavone profiles corresponds to the pattern of morphological and geographic variation within this taxon. Anthocyanins are responsible for the blue, mauve and pink colours of the flowers in the two genera. In Veronica they are based on delphinidin, whereas in Parahebe catarractae on both delphinidin and cyanidin.  相似文献

Thymus caramanicus is an endemic species grown in Iran with interesting pharmacological and biological properties. In the present work, essential oil compositions and inter-simple sequences repeat (ISSR) markers were used to estimate the relationships among and within seven populations of T. caramanicus, belonging to three provinces in Iran. The studied individuals were distinguished on the basis of ISSR markers and constituents of essential oil. A total of 127 band positions were produced by 12 ISSR primers, of which 105 were found polymorphic with 82.68 % polymorphism. Genetic similarity values among individuals ranged between 0.15 and 0.82 which was indicative of a high level of genetic variation. On the basis of their genetic similarities, ISSR analysis allowed to group the samples into two main clusters. One of these included populations originated from Kerman and Isfahan provinces, and the other cluster consists of populations from Semnan province. Chemical compounds of essential oils were found variable in the various individuals and all samples were principally composed of phenolic constituents (carvacrol and/or thymol). As a consequence, the plants were classified into two major chemotypes including carvacrol and thymol/carvacrol. A relationship between genetic and chemical variability and geographic distribution has been observed in studied populations of T. caramanicus.  相似文献

In this report, a molecular phylogeny based on the plastid gene matK and on the region between the genes trnL and trnF, and a chemical relationship based on the pattern of sesquiterpenes, is proposed for Aristolochia species from southeastern Brazil. We found that Aristolochia is a monophyletic genus and species considered to be derived contain labdanoic acids (LAs) in their leaves. The phenetic relationship recovered with sesquiterpenes did not agree with the phylogenetic relationships for Aristolochia, and three main clusters were recognized, namely, germacrene-D, germacrene-C and Z-caryophyllene groups. The presence of different sesquiterpene structures in species that are phylogenetically closely related may reflect adaptations to avoid predation of herbivores specialized in feeding on Aristolochiaceae plants.  相似文献

Punica species are medicinally important plants belonging to the family Lythraceae. The pomegranate is widely reported to exhibit antiviral, antioxidant, anticancer, anti-proliferative activities. In the present study the ethanolic extract of the peel seeds of two species of Punica (Punica granatum and Punica protopunica) were subjected to GC–MS analysis. Twenty-one and 14 compounds were identified in P. granatum and P. protopunica peel seeds, respectively. The main chemical constituents in P. granatum-peel seeds were propanoic acid, benzenedicarboxylic acid, methoxypropionic acid and methyl amine. The corresponding constituents of P. protopunica peel seeds were benzenedicarboxylic acid, benzoic acid and propanoic acid. Moreover, the antioxidant effects of the aqueous ethanolic extracts were estimated in vitro. The two tested extracts contained significantly different phenolic and total flavonoid contents in P. granatum than in P. protopunica. Different in vitro methods of antioxidant activity determination produced varying results. In malondialdehyde (MDA), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) scavenging and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assays, the two peel seed extracts exhibited very high antioxidant activities, with higher activity observed for the P. granatum extract.  相似文献

Previous phytochemical studies on the leaf resin of dioecious plant species Dodonaea polyandra have identified the presence of furanoclerodane diterpenoids. As part of ongoing research on this species the chemical profile of an individual plant displaying male flowers was investigated. Repeated chromatographic separation of a resinous extract from the leaves of the plant yielded three labdane diterpenoids, 13,17-epoxy-13-methyl-15-oxo-labda-7-ene (1), 17-hydroxy-13-methyl-labda-7,13Z-diene-15-oic acid (2) and 13-methyl-17-oxo-labda-7,13Z-diene-15-oic acid (3) and a fourth known labdane diterpenoid (4) reported as being isolated from a natural source for the first time. Structural elucidation was carried out using conventional 1D and 2D NMR and mass spectrometry together with other complementary techniques (UV and IR). The leaf extract from this individual of D. polyandra with male flowers present displays a marked difference in the chemical composition of diterpenoids compared to previously studied extracts from the leaves of this species.  相似文献

Fleurya aestuans (Linnaeus) Miquel and Phragmenthera capitata (Spreng) are two plants endemic to central Africa that are used in traditional medicine. However, information on their molecular constituents is lacking. In the present study and as part of our research on the structure/bioactivity relationship of plant cell wall molecules, we investigated the structure of polysaccharides isolated from leaf cell walls of both plant species. To this end, we used sequential extraction of polysaccharides, gas chromatography, matrix assisted laser desorption ionisation-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) and immuno-dot assays. Our data indicate the presence of both pectin and hemicellulosic polysaccharides in the cell walls of both plants. In particular, cell wall of F. aestuans leaves appears to contain much more pectin than those of P. capitata. Structural analysis of hemicellulosic polysaccharides revealed differences in the structure of xyloglucan isolated from both species. While only the XXXG-type was found in P. capitata, both XXXG and XXGG types were detected in F. aestuans. No arabinosylated subunits were found in any of the xyloglucan isolated from both plant species. In addition, xylan structure with non methylated-α-d-glucuronic acid on side chains was only detected in F. aestuans leaf cell walls. Finally, structural analysis of rhamnogalacturonan-I (RG-I) and rhamnogalacturonan-II (RG-II) shows that unlike RG-II, RG-I is qualitatively different between F. aestuans and P. capitata leaves.  相似文献

Field experiments were conducted to study the influence of cabbage monoculture and mixed cropping on the parasitism of diamondback moth,Plutella xylostella (L.), a destructive pest of all crucifers, by 2 larval parasites,Diadegma semiclausum Hellén andCotesia plutellae Kurdjumov. There was no significant difference in parasitism by either species whether cabbage was planted in insecticide-free monoculture or in mixed cropping with 8 noncrucifers which were sprayed twice a week with chemical insecticides mevinphos, methamidophos and permethrin. Population ofP. xylostella increased as the cabbage plants grew older. Parasitism byC. plutellae was higher soon after cabbage transplanting but decreased as the plants grew older. Parasitism byD. semiclausum was very low soon after cabbage planting but increased as the plants grew older. A significant negative correlation was found betwen parasitism byC. plutellae andD. semiclausum. In a caged field study where only one parasite species was used in an individual cage, parasitism ofP. xylostella by both species decreased as theP. xylostella population increased. This is believed to be due to the absence of competition between the two parasites inside the cage. There was no relationship between host-plant age and parasitism ofP. xylostella larvae by either parasite species.  相似文献

Summary Portulaca oleracea L. seedlings do not develop in the direction of neighbours, even when these neighbours are small and distant. Neighbouring plants could be simulated by small rectangles of a plastic that resembled leaves in its spectral characteristics. Unlike seedlings, mature plants did not respond to objects that do not influence photosynthetic light. When light of equal intensity was received from all directions, Portulaca seedlings avoided the direction with higher far-red light. Portulaca is thus able to use spectral composition and direction of light as clues for the probability of the direction of future shade.  相似文献

Six species having characteristics of plants with the C4 dicarboxylic photosynthetic pathway, Echinochloa utilis L. Ohwi et Yabuno (Japanese millet), Cynodon dactylon L. (Bermuda grass), Kyllinga brevifolia Rottb., Amaranthus tricolor L. cv. Early splendour, Kochia childsii Hort., and Portulaca grandiflora Hook (rose moss), responded decisively to 0.1 milliequivalent per liter NaCl supplied to their culture solutions initially containing less than 0.08 microequivalent per liter Na. Chlorosis and necrosis occurred in leaves of plants not receiving sodium. Portulaca failed to set flower in the sodium-deficient cultures. Under similar conditions Poa pratensis L. (Kentucky blue grass) having characteristics of the C3 photosynthetic pathway made normal growth and did not respond to the addition of sodium. It is concluded from these results and previously reported work that sodium is generally essential for species having the C4 pathway but not for species with the C3 pathway.  相似文献

Most invading alien plants affect native biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. In a field survey, we assessed the impact of the invasive shrub Prunus laurocerasus on the native vegetation and soil properties in suburban deciduous forests in the region of Basel, Switzerland. We installed four pairs of plots in patches of P. laurocerasus and in adjacent not invaded areas in each of twelve forest areas. Native species richness, Shannon-diversity and species composition of the ground vegetation and shrub layer were assessed in each plot. Furthermore, in each plot we measured physical and soil chemical characteristics, enzyme activities and the carbon source utilization pattern of the soil microbial community using Ecoplates™. The maximum age of P. laurocerasus in each plot was determined using tree ring analysis, indicating the time elapsed since the invasive plant has established. A lower native plant species richness in both the ground vegetation and shrub layer was observed in plots with presence of P. laurocerasus. A different species composition of the ground vegetation was also found among plots with and without the invasive shrub. Plots invaded by P. laurocerasus had a lower soil moisture content than control plots. The intensity, diversity and substrate richness of the carbon sources were increased in soil from invaded plots compared to soil in control plots. However, the chemical soil characteristics examined and the activities of enzymes were not influenced by the invasive plant. The effects of P. laurocerasus became more pronounced with the time elapsed since the invasive plant has established. Thus, the removal of young P. laurocerasus individuals would be an appropriate management practice for this invasive shrub species.  相似文献
