The investigation is dedicated to study sources of the carotid reflexogenic zone innervation in 43 tortoises (Testudo horsfieldi and Emys orbicularis). In 7 tortoises fine preparation of the vessels and nerves of the cervical area after V. P. Vorob'ev has been performed. In 13 animals descending branch of the glossopharyngeal nerve has been resected. In 4--the caudal ganglion of this nerve and in 9 tortoises the caudal ganglion of the vagus nerve have been resected. In 10 tortoises adrenergic nervous plexuses are studied after Falck-Govyrin method, and cholinergic ones--after Karnovsky-Roots. As demonstrate anatomical investigations, to the carotid reflexogenic zone of the tortoises, situating in the area of the common carotid artery base, the branches of the glossopharyngeal and of the vagus nerve approach. The experiments with resection of these nervous conductors demonstrate that by the end of 3 days after the operation myelin nervous fibers of various thickness are at the stage of granular decay. Cholinergic and adrenergic nervous fibers and plexuses are revealed histochemically in the carotid zone.  相似文献

In anesthetized monkeys, electrical stimulation (ES) of the pterygopalatine or geniculate ganglion dilated the ipsilateral ophthalmic artery (OA). The induced vasodilatation was unaffected by phentolamine but potentiated by atropine. Intravenous N(G)-nitro-L-arginine (L-NNA) abolished the response, which was restored by L-arginine. Hexamethonium-abolished vasodilator responses induced solely by geniculate ganglionic stimulation. The L-NNA constricted OA; L-arginine reversed the effect. Destruction of the pterygopalatine ganglion constricted the ipsilateral artery. Helical strips of OA isolated under deep anesthesia from monkeys, denuded of endothelium, responded to transmural ES with relaxations, which were abolished by tetrodotoxin and L-NNA but were potentiated by atropine. It is concluded that neurogenic vasodilatation of monkey OA is mediated by nerve-derived nitric oxide (NO), and the nerve is originated from the ipsilateral pterygopalatine ganglion that is innervated by cholinergic neurons from the brain stem via the geniculate ganglion. The OA appears to be dilated by mediation of NO continuously liberated from nerves that receive tonic discharges from the vasomotor center. Acetylcholine liberated from postganglionic cholinergic nerves would impair the release of neurogenic NO.  相似文献

Neuromediated behaviour of feline caudal femoral arteries was studied in vitro. Transmural stimulation of arteries, previously constricted by noradrenaline, caused an up to 58% relaxation of the induced tone. Atropine (10(-5) g/ml) blocked this response by 93%. The removal of endothelium did not affect the magnitude of the response. It is suggested that the caudal femoral artery is an example of a blood vessel which has muscarinic receptors located directly on its smooth muscles.  相似文献

We have previously shown that estrogen treatment increases cerebrovascular cyclooxygenase-1, prostacyclin synthase, and production of prostacyclin. Therefore, vascular tone and prostanoid production were measured to investigate functional consequences of estrogen exposure. Middle cerebral arteries were isolated from ovariectomized female Fischer-344 rats with or without chronic in vivo 17beta-estradiol treatment. In vivo 17beta-estradiol treatment increased cerebral artery diameter; functional endothelium was required for expression of these differences. The nonspecific cyclooxygenase inhibitor indomethacin constricted, whereas arachidonic acid dilated, cerebral arteries from estrogen-treated animals. Estrogen exposure increased production of prostacyclin by cerebral arteries. Conversely, in estrogen-deficient animals, indomethacin dilated and arachidonic acid constricted cerebral blood vessels. This correlated with vasorelaxation following inhibition of the thromboxane-endoperoxide receptor with SQ-29548 but not after selective blockade of thromboxane synthase with furegrelate, suggesting prostaglandin endoperoxide (i.e., PGH2) activity. Removal of the endothelium or selective blockade of cyclooxygenase-1 with SC-560 abolished estrogen-mediated differences in the effects of arachidonate on vessel diameter and on prostacyclin production by cerebral arteries. These data suggest 17beta-estradiol decreases cerebrovascular tone by shifting the primary end product of the endothelial cyclooxygenase-1 pathway from the constrictor prostaglandin PGH2 to the vasodilator prostacyclin. These effects of estrogen may contribute to the heightened thromboresistance and enhanced cerebral blood flow documented in pre-versus postmenopausal women.  相似文献

Semi-thin plastic sections reveal that the carotid baroreceptor region in the rock hyrax comprising the origin of the internal carotid artery has a preponderantly elastic structure and a thick tunica adventitia. In contrast, the common carotid artery has a musculoelastic structure, whereas the cranial segment of the internal carotid artery (immediately distal to the baroreceptor areas) shows the features of a muscular artery. Electron microscopy discloses the presence of sensory nerve endings within the parts of the tunica adventitia adjoining the preponderantly elastic zone of the internal carotid artery. These nerve endings are characterized by varicose regions containing a large quantity of mitochondria. Bundles of collagen fibers in the tunica adventitia form convolutions or whorls around the nerve terminals and often terminate on the surface of the elastic fibers or into the basement membranes of the neuronal profiles. The large content of elastic tissue in the tunica media of the baroreceptor region may render the vessel wall highly distensible to intraluminal pressure changes. This, in turn, would facilitate the transmission of the stimulus intensity to the sensory nerve terminals located in the tunica adventitia. It is suggested that the stretching of elastic fibers may form the main mechanical event leading to the distortion of the associated nerve terminals. However, a change in the geometrical configuration of the bundles of collagen under the influence of the elastic fibers may provide a better insight into the mechanisms of distortion of the baroreceptors related to and/or in contact with collagen fibers.  相似文献

The ontogeny of vascular bundles in the nodal region of Populus deltoides Bartr. was examined to understand more thoroughly the structure-function relation between leaf and stem. Three vascular traces from the stem independently enter each leaf in the nodal region. At the base of each developing leaf a region was observed in which both bundle size and vascular development was reduced; this region was referred to as the constricted zone. The constricted zone was described quantitatively at 13 locations within the nodal region of a leaf at LPI 5 by determining the number of metaxylem vessels and the total metaxylem vessel area in each of the three leaf traces. A plot of these data showed a distinct minimum value for total metaxylem vessel area within the constricted zone of each trace; the location of this minimum value was referred to as the constriction plane. Each vascular bundle within the nodal region is composed of independent subsidiary bundles that originate within the constricted zone. These bundles provide a direct connection between the leaf lamina and the stem. The node was defined anatomically on the basis of the ontogenetic development of the subsidiary bundles. The node began at the initial exit point of the central trace from the vascular cylinder and extended distally to the constriction plane. This definition allowed us to quantify the limits of each node. The origin of the initiating layer and metacambium was also examined within the nodal region. These precursors of the cambium develop continuously and acropetally from the stem into the leaf. The developmental implications of the constricted zone and the metacambium within the nodal region are discussed with respect to wood formation.  相似文献

A sphincter is described in the a. pulmonalis in the frog Rana temporaria. The sphincter begins abruptly where the pulmonary artery branches off from the a. pulmo-cutanea. It is constricted by vagal stimulation and acetylcholine. It also contracts actively when the lungs are artificially collapsed and opens when the lungs are inflated. It is suggested that previously reported fibers in the vagus nerve, which come from stretch receptors in the lungs, act as the afferent reflex arch. When the pulmonary artery constricts, the cutaneous artery and vein are distended by increased pressure which contributes to increased cutaneous flow. The sphincter therefore seems to play an important role in the adjustment of circulation to exclusive cutaneous respiration as for instance in submerged, wintering frogs. It is suggested that the decrease of pulmonary flow in such situations causes increased mixing in the heart and, perhaps, complete break-down of the double circulation. In frogs with exclusive skin respiration this would seem to be a functional necessity. Sphincters of similar location in turtles seem to be homologous with the one in Rana.  相似文献

In the rat mesenteric artery ring, acidic solution (pH 7.0) inhibited the electrical field stimulation (EFS)-evoked response in a wide range of stretch. Acidosis potentiated the EFS-evoked constriction of the ring precontracted with 0.5 mu noradrenaline. The EFS dilated rings precontracted with 0.7 mu noradrenaline in control solution but contracted it in the acidic solution. Tone-dependent mechanisms of the acidosis effects on the EFS-evoked responses are discussed.  相似文献

Analysis of viscoelastic properties of blood vessel walls presents difficult analytical problems in view of their non-homogeneity, anisotropy, and non-linear viscoelastic characteristics. The analytical technique used in this study is the numerical method of direct stiffness which has been successfully applied in preliminary studies. The direct stiffness method constitutes a finite element analysis, where the wall structure in an electron micrograph is represented by an assembly of triangular elements. Different material properties can be assigned to each triangular element; the method is thus ideally suited for computer analysis of non-homogeneous biological structures. Anatomical components considered in the analysis were two types of collagen fibers and smooth muscle cells. Typical circumferential stress-time and radius-time histories for selected points have been obtained in relaxed and constricted arterioles under static pressure loads. Plots of the stress distribution in cross sections of the vessel wall have been obtained in relaxed and constricted arterioles.  相似文献

The vasoreactivity of the digital artery of the fallow deer, Dama dama, has been examined. The artery was constricted by adrenoceptor agonists such as noradrenaline and -phenylephrine, and dilated by histamine in an endothelium dependent, -NAME sensitive manner. No evidence could be found for muscarinic receptors using acetylcholine and carbachol. Arteries collected in the cold winter of 1995/96 were either insensitive, or had a reduced sensitivity to the vasodilator action of histamine, compared with arteries collected in summer or in the mild winters of 1997/98 and 1998/99. The vasodilator response to forskolin was considerably reduced in the cold winter arteries compared with the warm winter arteries, whereas the vasoconstrictor action of ODQ was unchanged. It is considered that the changes seen in the cold winter arteries were triggered by the external temperature and not by seasonal changes.  相似文献

Role of elastic fibers in cooling-induced relaxation   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
The objective of this work was to confirm the main role of elastic fibers in differing responses of certain vessels during cooling from 37 to 8 degrees C. Previous results have shown that the nature of the vessel (conduit vessel vs muscular vessel) determines the different behavior (dilatation vs contraction) of isolated vessel segments when temperature decreases from 37 to 8 degrees C. In this work, it has been demonstrated that vessels with a great amount of elastic fibers show a dilatation when cooling. On the other hand, muscular vessels with fewer elastic fibers, such as the renal artery, undergo a contraction. The output of calcium from intracellular stores causes contraction of the renal artery during cooling. In this vessel, vasodilatation occurs only when mechanisms of smooth muscle contraction are inactive, as is the case with vessels that have undergone a cold storage period of 48 h. The results presented in this work confirm that there are two main effects, which directly depend on the vessel origin. In conduit arteries, the decrease of temperature induces a vascular relaxation, dependent on the elastic component of the vessel wall. In muscular vessels, the predominant effect is cooling-induced contraction due to an increase of intracellular calcium. This cooling-induced contraction needs the vessel to be in optimal conditions with an active metabolism of the muscular cells. These results are a crucial issue in the sense of explaining several biomedical mechanisms where hypothermia is implicated. The type of vessel implicated in procedures, such as isolated organ perfusion, extracorporeal circulation, and bypass surgery, must be taken into account.  相似文献

The adrenergic nervous plexuses of the pial arteries from 450- to 50 micron in diameter have been studied in dogs, cats and humans from 4 age groups (22-44 years, 55-64 years, 65-74 years and 75-86 years old). It has been found that the decrease in the vessel diameter was accompanied by a marked decline in the absolute number of nervous fibers in the nervous plexuses, however the concentration of the nerve fibers has not revealed any significant differences between human arteries from 450 to 100 micron in diameter and animal arteries from 300 to 80 micron in diameter. The number of varicosities-thickness along the nerve fiber--was the greatest in 200-100 micron human arteries and in 80-60 micron animal arteries. With ageing, the number of varicosities in the adrenergic nervous plexus of human pial vessels decreased faster than in the nerve fibers.  相似文献

During the larval development of S. mansoni in the snail host, morpho-anatomic changes occur in the daughter sporocyst by a sectorization of this larval stage. Three sectors can be distinguished: an anterior zone with a well-differentiated birth pore; dilated zones containing the developing cercariae; constricted zones without cercarial embryo. The photonic and electronic microscopical study shows variations in the tegumental structure of these sectors. This evolution of the daughter sporocysts is discussed in relation with the dynamics of larval stages and the replication process of sporocysts.  相似文献

Changes in contractile activity of saphenous artery in normotensive rats and in rats with regional hypotension have been investigated. The abdominal aorta was partially occluded in Wistar rats distally to the renal arteries. Four weeks later, a 5-7-mm segment of the femoral nerve in one hindlimb was resected to denervate the saphenous artery. After two weeks, the isometric contraction of innervated and denervated saphenous artery segments was studied. In normotensive rats, the denervation augmented vessel sensitivity to noradrenaline, phenylephrine, serotonin, and KCl (in the presence of phentolamine). Chronic hypotension also augmented vessel sensitivity to constrictor agonists, whereas denervation did not result in further increase of sensitivity. In glyoxilic acid-stained preparations obtained from hypotensive rats, a reduced intensity of fluorescence of adrenergic fibers was observed. It was assumed that the higher sensitivity of vascular smooth muscle in hypotensive rats is due to functional disturbances of sympathetic innervation.  相似文献

An experimental model of a seamless end-to-end joining of severed sciatic nerve (with gaps between the two ends 5-8 mm-wide) using an implanted arterial vessel was elaborated on random bred and inbred Wistar rats. Histological examination showed that nerve regeneration along the implanted arterial lumen was directly oriented and was not accompanied by neuroma formation which was always the case in the control. It took some nerve fibers 20 days to join the gap between the cut nerve ends. In 4 months myelination of regenerating fibers was observed in the blood vessel lumen, in 3 months the lumen was filled with bundles of myelinated fibers, and in 9 months the structure of the regenerating nerve was similar to that of the mature trunk observed in animals. The elaborated experimental model is to be employed in the studies of reparatory histogenesis in peripheral nervous tissues. The data obtained may be used in neurosurgery.  相似文献

By means of fluorescent-histochemical method distribution of monoaminergic structures has been studied in the sympatho-adrenal system of the carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) mesonephros. Catecholaminergic nervous fibers are revealed in the walls of adrenal and venous vessels and glomerular arterioles. In the glomerular capillaries they are not found. In the walls of the venous vessels, besides catecholamine-containing nervous fibers, chromaffin cells with long processes running along the vessel are observed. Some contacts of catecholamine-containing structures of the mesonephric vascular wall with the proximal and, very seldom, with distal parts of the nephron canaliculi are demonstrated. Structures containing indolamines are not revealed.  相似文献

Summary A dorsal-horn fiber system is revealed in the thoracic spinal cord of guinea pig by means of substance P immunocytochemistry. This system has repeated craniocaudal and/or caudo-cranial extensions and possesses five main components: (1) a superficial network, situated beneath the dorsolateral surface of the spinal cord. This network is connected with the dorsal root fibers and the accumulations of substance P-like immunoreactive (SP-LI) fibers in the Lissauer's tract; (2) an accumulation of SP-LI fibers in the Lissauer's tract at the border of the dorsal horn; (3) two collateral SP-LI fascicles (one lateral and one medial) emerging from the SP-LI fiber accumulation in the Lissauer's tract; (4) a transversal fascicle running through laminae III–V, and (5) an SP-LI network in the region of the lateral spinal cord nucleus. These components of the dorsal-horn fiber system show widespread connections with ipsi-and contralateral spinal cord areas, connecting them in cranio-caudal and/or caudo-cranial directions. The SP-LI dorsal-horn system has close relationship with groups of preganglionic sympathetic cells in the intermediate zone of the spinal cord, respective with the vegetative network of this zone. It is suggested that some fibers of the dorsal-horn system that originate from dorsal-root ganglia may represent primary sensory or visceral afferents. It is likely that the dorsal-horn fiber system and the vegetative network of the thoracic spinal cord may represent the morphological basis for the integration of (1) the central and peripheral vegetative nervous systems, and (2) the somatic and vegetative nervous system.  相似文献

In this paper an existing in vivo parameter identification method for arteries is extended to account for smooth muscle activity. Within this method a continuum-mechanical model, whose parameters relate to the mechanical properties of the artery, is fit to clinical data by solving a minimization problem. Including smooth muscle activity in the model increases the number of parameters. This may lead to overparameterization, implying that several parameter combinations solve the minimization problem equally well and it is therefore not possible to determine which set of parameters represents the mechanical properties of the artery best. To prevent overparameterization the model is fit to clinical data measured at different levels of smooth muscle activity. Three conditions are considered for the human abdominal aorta: basal during rest; constricted, induced by lower-body negative pressure; and dilated, induced by physical exercise. By fitting the model to these three arterial conditions simultaneously a unique set of model parameters is identified and the model prediction agrees well with the clinical data.

On frontal sections of the brain of albino rats, by means of peroxidase technique, studies have been made on peculiarities of distribution of cortical nervous fibers from somatosensory zone C2 in fugal and comissural directions. Horseradish peroxidase was administered electrophoretically in the focus of the response to electrical stimulation of the distal part of contralateral forelimb of the animal. The data obtained were compared with the results of the distribution of labeled fibers from other, more lateral and medial zones. Single retrogradely labeled cells in symmetrical (with respect to peroxidase application zones) C2 areas of contralateral hemisphere were found indicating the existence of single comissural connections between these parts of the brain cortex. It was established that among anterogradely labeled fibers emerging from the label zone in the focus of the response, comissural ones constitute 34-44%, whereas among fibers from the same zone outside the response focus their share increases up to 52-55%.  相似文献

To determine if vascular smooth muscle from teleost and agnathan fishes expresses receptors for signaling agents that are important in vascular tension in other vertebrates, we exposed rings of aortic vascular smooth muscle from the eel (Anguilla rostrata), the hagfish (Myxine glutinosa), and the lamprey (Petromyzon marinus) to a suite of putative agonists, including: acetylcholine, endothelin, nitric oxide, natriuretic peptides, and prostanoids. Acetylcholine constricted aortic rings from the eel, but had no effect on the rings from lamprey. On the other hand, endothelin constricted rings from all three species. Use of receptor-specific ET agonists demonstrated that only ET(A) receptors are expressed in the eel and lamprey aorta. The nitric oxide donor sodium nitroprusside or nitric oxide itself dilated rings from the eel, but both agonists constricted rings from the hagfish and NO produced a biphasic response (constriction followed by dilation) in the lamprey. Two natriuretic peptides, eel ANP and porcine CNP, produced marginally significant dilation in the eel aorta, human ANP dilated the hagfish rings, and pCNP and eANP dilated the lamprey rings. The prostanoids PGE(1) and PGE(2) both dilated the eel aortic rings, and PGE(1) and carbaprostacyclin (stable PGI(2) agonist) dilated the hagfish and lamprey rings. Our results suggest that receptors for a variety of vasoactive signaling agents are expressed in the aortic smooth muscle of the earliest vertebrates (lamprey and hagfish), as well as the more advanced teleosts (eel).  相似文献
