The massive rugose coral Iowaphyllum rhenanum (SchlÜter 1880) is described from the Upper Devonian (Frasnian) of Breinigerberg, in the area of Stolberg near Aachen, Germany. The holotype is compared to the material from the Les Valisettes Formation in the Philippeville Massif and from the Upper Frasnian shales of the Vesdre Massif; the latter is the continuation of the Aachen Syncline in Belgium. All the Belgian material belongs to the Upper Palmatolepis gigas Zone and is associated with rugose corals such as Frechastraea pentagona pentagona (Goldfuss 1826) and F. pentagona minima (RÓ?KOWSKA 1953).  相似文献

Another juvenile specimen of the small carnivoranMiacis?kessleri Springhorn 1982 from the lower Middle Eocene oilshales (MP 11) of Messel near Darmstadt (South Hesse, Germany) is described. The nearly complete skeleton displays characteristics in dentition, skull, and limbs showing additional anatomical details and suggesting a taxonomic revision. Especially the assumption that there exist two molars only in the lower and upper jaw, as well as the trenchant talonid of the lower carnassial contradict the allocation to the genusMiacis. The species consequently is assigned to a new genusMesselogale. The higher taxonomic status of miacids in relation to the system of Carnivora is discussed.Messelogale kessleri shows basicranial characters, which indicate a classification within the Caniformia. On the other hand the loss of M3 suggests a relationship to the Feliformia. The species has an almost completely reduced (cf. holotype) or moderately well-developed dP3-Parastyl (this specimen), but it is not as enlarged as in primitive Feliformia, nor as reduced as in some Caniformia. Moreover, a calcaneal fibular facet cannot be excluded. Both attributes are representing the primitive morphology of the species. That does not ally the species with the Feliformia, but makes it, according toFlynn &; Galiano (1982), a very primitive Caniformia.  相似文献

A stromatoporoid fauna is described from the uttermost eastern quarry south of the Lenne river in Letmathe (Sauerland). The fauna consists of 8 species which have been found during a biostatistical study on the upper surface of a single limestone bed of Givetian age. The fauna can be interpreted as genuine community. — Most stromatoporoid species described from the German Paleozoic have been found in deposits of Eifelian, Givetian, and Frasnian age. The latest stromatoporoids found in the Rheinisches Schiefergebirge occur in biostromes of lowermost Tournai age near Aachen.  相似文献

  1. Rhizopod tests from 16 cores of sediments from lake Latnjajaure, in Swedish Lapland, were studied and found to show the development of the lake since its formation. Latnjajaure is a oligotrophic mountain lake.
  2. All cores contained many remains of rhizopods, most of them intact. Most broken tests could be reconstructed. Postglacial development of a lake could thus be elucidated for the first time.
  3. The sediment cores contained 24 species of Testacea, 41.6% of the recent fauna. The rank order of species forming 1 % or more of the total number in the cores is nearly identical with the rank order of recent species.
  4. The history of lake Latnjajaure is characterized by Centropyxis aërophila, an oligotrophic species. Periods of beginning eutrophication are indicated by a decrease of Centropyxis aërophila and an increase of Difflugia species, but typical eutrophic species were absent. A dystrophic phase in the development could not be ascertained by means of rhizopods.

The wall structure of some foraminifers from the Rupeliam of the Mainz Basin, formerly referred toSpiroplectammina Cushman 1927, is examined. They are classified asSpiroplectinella Kisel’man 1972 because of the occurrence of pseudopores. The genus neither belong to the Spiroplectamminacea nor to the Textulariacea. The proposition of Hottinger et al. (1990) to separate it from these superfamilies is confirmed.  相似文献

An extracellular acidic polysaccharide produced by Serratia piscatorum IFO 12527 was found to exhibit a marked antiinflammatory activity. The polysaccharide was purified by fractional precipitation with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and then by gel filtration on Sepharose 2B to give two homogeneous fractions, PLS N–I and PLS N–II, the former exhibiting the antiinflammatory activity.

PLS N-I was a complex polysaccharide composed of l-rhamnose, d-galactose and d-galacturonic acid in the molar ratio of 2: 1; 1, together with small portions of d-glucosamine, d-galactosamine, protein and fatty acids such as acetic, lauric, myristic, β-hydroxyrnyristic and palmitic acids. Physicochemical and biological properties of PLS N–I and PLS N–II were also described.  相似文献

Two new isolated upper anterior premolars (p1–3) of multituberculates are described from the Barremian of Galve in Spain. One specimen is tricuspid and belongs toEobaatar hispanicus Hahn &Hahn, 1992. The other is the first tetracuspid p1–3 known from Galve. It is very similar to respective teeth of the Paulchoffatiidae G.Hahn, 1969 from the Upper Jurassic of Portugal. Therefore, this very small tooth belongs very probably to the paulchoffatiid taxonGalveodon nannothus Hahn &Hahn, 1992 which is also characterized by tiny dimensions  相似文献

The study of two Miocene carnivore faunas (Petersbuch 2, Erkertshof en 2/fissure fillings/ Southern Germany) gave rise to a discussion of the taxonomic status of “Herpestes”aurelianensis (Schlosser) 1888. As a result the speciesfilholi (Gaillard) 1899 is regarded as a valid species andaurelianensis atavus de Beaumont 1973 must be raised to the status of a species. Diagnoses are given foraurelianensis, filholi andatavus and the genus nameLeptoplesictis Major 1903 is reintroduced to separate these species from the recent genusHerpestes Illinger.  相似文献
