The interactive effects of citrus root residues and soil fungi on citrus replant problems were investigated. The results indicated that incorporation of citrus root residues in combination with the pathogenic fungiPhytophthora citrophthora, Pythium aphanidermatum andFusarium solani in soil caused more reduction to sour orange growth than did the root residues alone. Subsequent experiments showed that extracts of different parts of sour orange and leachates of some soil fungi increased the disease index of citrus roots grownin vitro. The citrus extracts did not affect growth of the test fungi.Thus, it appears that allelopathic compounds of plant and microbial origins build up in old citrus soil and may act as predisposal agents for the infection of citrus roots by soil pathogens.  相似文献

The role of soil fungi and nematodes in citrus replant problems was investigated. Several pathogenic and non-pathogenic fungi and the nematodeTylenchulus semipenetrans were isolated in about equal abundance from soils which displayed or did not display replant problems. However, in almost all trees showing evidence of decline, infection by the fungusPhytophthora citrophthora had advanced through the roots until it had reached the tree crown. Fumigation of old citrus soil with methyl bromide greatly increased the growth of sour organe. The application of Nemacure, Benomyl and Ridomil 5G confirmed the important role of pathogenic and non-pathogenic fungi and nematodes in the citrus replant problem. Inoculation of methyl bromide-treated soil with the pathogenic and non-pathogenic fungi separately or in combination further confirmed the previous experiments and also revealed an important role ofP. citrophthora andFusarium solani when replanting citrus in old citrus orchards.  相似文献

The role of allelopathy in the Chinese-fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata) replant problem was studied. The failure of Chinese-fir seedlings to grow normally in Chinese-fir replant woodland was not only caused by the depletion of nutrients and the deterioration of the structure of replant woodland soil, but also by biotic factors and allelopathy. Extracts of soils collected from replant woodlands significantly reduced the growth of Chinese-fir seedlings. Extracts and decomposing root residues also significantly inhibited the growth of Chinese-fir seedlings. Extracts of the replant soil and of the decomposing roots from Chinese-fir replant woodland were both toxic to other plants. The combination of the decomposing root residues and the pathogenic fungi reduced the growth of Chinese-fir seedlings the most when compared to the decomposing root residue alone and the control. Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch. is a medicinal plant cultivated at a commercial scale in China. However, replanting problems result in a severe decline in both the biomass and quality of its roots, which are of greatest medicinal value. This study attempted to remediate the replant soil using spent Pleurotus eryngii Quel substrate for alleviating this issue, and to investigate the underlying mechanisms. Results showed that R. glutinosa grew successfully in fresh soil and remedial replant soil, while no roots were harvested in the unremedied replant soil. Overall, the nutritional status in the remedial soil was higher than that of the unremedied and fresh soil, while the concentration of allelopathic phenolic acids was lower. When planted in unremedied soil, the growth of five plant pathogens was induced and one beneficial fungus was suppressed. When planted in remedied soil, four out of the five pathogens were suppressed, while two beneficial fungi were identified in the remedial soil. This study suggests that the spent P. eryngii substrate significantly alleviates the replant problem of R. glutinosa, and that the alleviatory function reflects a synergetic effect, including the supplementation of soil nutrition, the degradation of allelochemicals, and the remediation of unbalanced microbial community.  相似文献

Distribution of the citrus nematode (Tylenchulus semipenetrans) was studied over 18 months in a 6-year-old orchard of grapefruit (Citrus paradisi cv. Ruby Red) on sour orange (C. aurantium) rootstock. The 1.8-ha orchard was under chemical weed control, no tillage, and flood irrigation. Highest numbers of nematodes were found in the top 15 cm of the soil profile. The nematode population peaked in April and declined to lowest levels in August and September. Numbers of nematodes were negatively correlated (r = -0.95) with soil temperatures above 29 C. Soil populations of nematodes were not correlated with soil moisture. The distribution of the nematode in the field was highly skewed and was described by a negative binomial. In this 1.8-ha block, five soil samples of 12 cores each would provide an estimate within 20% of the true nematode population mean with 95% confidence.  相似文献

Inoculation of apple seedling roots withPenicillium claviforme reduced plant growth and resulted in morphological changes of roots resembling those found in seedlings growing in ‘apple replant problem’ soil (apple-sick soil). The introduced fungus persisted in the rhizosphere throughout the 30-month test period. The numbers of colony-forming units (CFU) ofPenicillium claviforme, as well as the ‘total’ number of CFU of micromycetes, were higher in the rhizoplane of the inoculated seedling in comparison with uninoculated plants. The numbers of CFU of phytotoxic micromycetes in the rhizosphere soil of inoculated seedlings were also proportionally higher. Apple tree growth was also reduced when seedlings were inoculated with the flucrescent bacteriumPseudomonas putida; however, no morphological changes were observed in the roots. Both micro-organisms introduced into the apple seedling rhizosphere caused changes in the microbial community. Inoculation withPenicillium claviforme andPseudomonas putida caused a decrease in the number of mycolytic bacteria in the rhizoplane of apple seedlings.  相似文献

为了加强植物生长调节剂在柑橘生产上的安全使用,对其登记信息现状的全面了解是非常有必要的.鉴于此,本文检索了目前在中国农药信息网上登记的产品,并对有效期内可用于柑橘生产的植物生长调节剂的种类、剂型与功效进行科学统计和分析,进一步提出安全施用建议及展望.结果表明,当前所登记的柑橘植物生长调节剂产品总共有75个,有效成分主要以单剂为主,产品有65个,占86.67%;剂型有12类,以可溶液剂和乳油为主,占46.7%;功效主要包含调节生长、增产、催熟、控梢、矮化、杀虫、促进生长、抗逆等作用.该结果为植物生长调节剂产业健康发展与柑橘的绿色生产提供参考.  相似文献

The long-term effects of biological agents alone and in combination with monoammonium phosphate on tree growth and fruit production of apple trees planted on apple replant soil was studied for five years. Application of monoammonium phosphate (MAP) in the year of planting increased shoot growth, cross-sectional trunk area and fruit yield of McIntosh on M.26 rootstock for the first two years. The application of bacterial agents alone were not effective in increasing young tree growth except BACT-1 in 1987. None of the bacterial agents increased fruit yield when applied alone. The addition of certain bacterial agents to MAP application increased young tree growth in various years. The combination of bacterial agent B-10 and MAP reduced young tree growth and yield compared with the MAP treatment alone. These results suggest that the application of MAP alone may be sufficient to alleviate the replant problem and the addition of BACT-1, EBW-4 or B8 bacterial agents to this treatment may be beneficial to increase tree growth in some years. 以宽皮柑橘“本地早”为试材 ,研究了 2 (4 甲基苯氧 )三乙基胺 (MPTA)处理对柑橘果实外观颜色的影响 ,并探讨其与相关类胡萝卜素消长的关系及与糖含量变化的可能联系。结果表明 :MPTA处理促进柑橘果皮组织中类胡萝卜素 (主要为番茄红素 )的生物合成 ,使果皮颜色由淡橙黄色转为红色 ;随着番茄红素的积累 ,其上游前体物质葡萄糖含量下降 ,而其下游产物β 隐黄质、玉米黄素的合成不受影响  相似文献

AIMS: To have a PCR-based detection method for Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri (Xac) using primers designed in a specific region of its genome. METHODS AND RESULTS: A Xac-specific region was identified inside the rpf gene cluster of strain IAPAR 306 in an analysis of its complete genomic sequence. Two primers were designed, Xac01 and Xac02, which, when used in a standard PCR assay, direct the amplification of a 581 bp fragment from DNA of strains belonging to Xac from different regions around the world including unusual American and Asian strains. This product was not observed when DNA from strains of the closely related X. a. aurantifolli and X. a. citrumelo were used as templates. Extracts prepared from 28 xanthomonads of other species, and epiphytic bacteria isolated from citrus also failed to produce products with these primers. Amplification was obtained from cells grown in vitro, from extracts of both fresh and dried citrus canker lesions and from washes of inoculated but asymptomatic leaf surfaces. In sensitivity tests, this PCR technique detected as few as 100 cells. CONCLUSIONS: Primers Xac01 and Xac02 provide specific and sensitive detection of Xac in all citrus tissues where the pathogen is found. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY: This PCR-based diagnostic test is suitable for monitoring asymptomatic plants in areas where the bacteria is endemic, in plant quarantine and regulatory situations, and also for obtaining an accurate diagnosis in a very short time. These are important characteristics for any assay to be used for the management of citrus canker disease.  相似文献

All phytometallophores are derived from methionine through S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) via nicotianamine. Ethylene is synthesized from methionine via SAM and 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC). This close similarity in biochemical pathways suggests that root-ethylene may play a role in regulating Fe(III)-phytometallophore homeostasis in cereal (Strategy II species) roots as well as in the regulation of Fe(III)-chelate reductase activity in Strategy I species. Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) seedlings were grown in chelate-buffered nutrient solutions with increasing levels of Fe (i.e., 5, 25 or 100 µM Fe) as Fe(III)-HEDTA. Seedlings at each level of Fe were treated with either an inhibitor or a promoter of ethylene action. Treatment with the promoter, ACC (1 µM), had no significant effect of phytometallophore root efflux or Fe uptake by 19-d-old barley seedlings at all Fe levels. However, treatment with the inhibitor, aminooxyacetic acid (AOA, 10 µM) repressed the ability of cereal roots to absorb sufficient Fe to meet metabolic needs, but surprisingly enhanced phytometallophore root efflux rates at all Fe(III)-HEDTA levels. These results support a possible role of root-ethylene in Fe(III) uptake in cereals, but the mechanism remains unclear.  相似文献

In broken chloroplasts the presence of 100 mM sodium formate at pH 8.2 will specifically lengthen the Photosystem II relaxation times of the reactions S′2 → S3 and S′3 → S0. Rates of reactions S′0 → S1 and S′1 → S2 remain unaffected. Evidence is presented which indicates the discrimination among S-states by formate cannot be attributed to a block imposed on the reducing side of Photosystem II. The results are interpreted in context of the known interaction of formate and CO2 which is bound to the Photosystem II reaction center complex. It is proposed that those S-state transitions which show extended relaxation times in the presence of formate must result in the momentary release and rebinding of CO2. Furthermore since formate is acting on the oxygen-evolving side of Photosystem II, it would seem that CO2 is released in reactions that occur there. A chemical model of oxygen evolution is presented. It is based on the hypothesis that hydrated CO2 is the immediate source of photosynthetically evolved oxygen and explains why, under certain conditions formate slows only the S-state transitions S′2 → S3 and S′3 → S0.  相似文献

Oleocellosis, a physiological rind disorder of citrus fruit, is an unattractive surface blemish caused by phytotoxic effects of released rind oils. The development of oleocellosis in Washington navel orange (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) was examined by following a time sequence of surface symptoms and microscopic rind changes. The two natural causes of oleocellosis were simulated: mechanical damage to the fruit and transfer of rind oil between fruit. Mechanical fruit injury resulted in rupture of the epidermis above oil glands. Released surface oil appeared to infiltrate the rind via the ruptured epidermis resulting in rapid degeneration of cortical, but not epidermal, cell contents. Oil application to the rind surface produced a more severe blemish than did mechanical damage. The oil appeared to diffuse through the cuticle causing degeneration of the contents of all cell layers, including the epidermis. Loss of membrane integrity was detected within 30 min, followed by cell content degeneration and cell collapse. The resulting blemish, characterized by rind collapse and darkening, developed substantially within 3 d and was attributed to the cellular damage.  相似文献

The effect of vasopressin, angiotensin II and phorbol myristate acetate on the alpha 1-adrenergic action (induced by epinephrine + propranolol), was studied. We selected three conditions: (a) ureagenesis in medium without added calcium and containing 25 microM EGTA; (b) ureagenesis using cells from hypothyroid animals, and (c) gluconeogenesis from dihydroxyacetone. Under these conditions epinephrine + propranolol produces clear metabolic effects, whereas the vasopressor peptides do not (although they stimulate phosphoinositide turnover). It was observed that the vasopressor peptides and the active phorbol ester inhibited in a concentration-dependent fashion the effect of epinephrine + propranolol. It is suggested that activation of protein kinase C by phorbol esters or physiological stimuli (hormones that activate phosphoinositide turnover, such as vasopressin or angiotensin II) modulate the hepatocyte alpha 1-adrenergic responsiveness.  相似文献
