Synopsis Histochemical investigations have been made on the localization of certain oxidative and hydrolytic enzymes in the different areas of rhesus monkey brain using unfixed, freshfrozen tissue and 3% glutaraldehyde-fixed material. After glutaraldehyde fixation, the oxidative enzymes lose most of their activity normally demonstrable in the fresh-frozen section. The hydrolytic enzymes are somewhat resistant to fixation but also lose about half of the enzyme activity observed after no fixing procedure. The glycogen is better preserved in the glutaraldehyde-fixed material compared to fresh-frozen or even formaldehyde-fixed tissue. DNA polymerase theta has been implicated in the process of somatic hypermutation in immunoglobulin variable genes based on several reports of alterations in the frequency and spectra of mutations from Polq(-/-) mice. However, these studies have contrasting results on mutation frequencies and the types of nucleotide substitutions, which question the role of polymerase theta in hypermutation. DNA polymerase eta has a dominant effect on mutation and may substitute in the absence of polymerase theta to affect the pattern. Therefore, we have examined mutation in mice deficient for both polymerases theta and eta. The mutation frequencies in rearranged variable genes from Peyer's patches were similar in wild type, Polq(-/-), Polh(-/-), and Polq(-/-)Polh(-/-) mice. The types of substitutions were also similar between wild type and Polq(-/-) clones, and between Polh(-/-) and Polq(-/-)Polh(-/-) clones. Furthermore, there was no difference in heavy chain class switching in splenic B cells from the four groups of mice. These results indicate that polymerase theta does not play a significant role in the generation of somatic mutation in immunoglobulin genes.  相似文献

In samples from twenty chronically cannulated ovine fetuses the plasma immunoreactive adrenocorticotrophin (ACTH) concentrations were 12.5 +/- 3.2(8), 15.2 +/- 4.1(9) and 21.2 +/- 5.6(8) pg/ml at periods, prior to parturition, of -30 to -35, -25 to -29 and -20 to -24 days respectively. Values are mean +/- SEM (number of samples). These values were not significantly different from each other but were significantly lower (P less than 0.02) than values in the next two age groups -36.0 +/- 4.9(7) pg/ml at -19 to -15 days, and 39.6 +/- 6.6(11) pg/ml at -14 to -9 days. A further significant increase (P less than 0.05) occurred in the -8 to -3 day period, ACTH being 53.9 +/- 5.4(12) pg/ml. On day of delivery two samples had values of 325 and 360 pg/ml. A single injection, intravenously of 1.0 microgram ovine corticotrophin-releasing factor (O-CRF), caused a significant increase in fetal plasma ACTH concentrations in fetuses of -6 to -23 days prior to delivery but not in fetuses -24 to -35 days prior to parturition. The maximum values of ACTH after O-CRF were significantly greater in fetuses -2 to 0 days prior to parturition than in younger fetuses (P less than 0.01). In 6 experiments in 4 fetuses (parturition -1 to -13 days) the effect of 1.0 microgram O-CRF persisted for at least 2.5 h. The results support the hypothesis that the pituitary release of ACTH changes sensitivity to hypothalamic O-CRF at least twice during the last fifth of gestation; an increasing sensitivity is seen as term approaches.  相似文献

NADPH oxidases (NOX) are the major source of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the vasculature and contribute to the control of renal perfusion. The role of NOX2 in the regulation of blood pressure and afferent arteriole responsiveness was investigated in NOX2(-/-) and wild-type mice. Arteriole constrictions to ANG II (10(-14)-10(-6) mol/l) were weaker in NOX2(-/-) compared with wild types. N(omega)-nitro-l-arginine methyl ester (l-NAME; 10(-4) mol/l) treatment reduced basal diameters significantly more in NOX2(-/-) (-18%) than in wild types (-6%) and augmented ANG II responses. Adenosine (10(-11)-10(-4) mol/l) constricted arterioles of wild types but not of NOX2(-/-). However, simultaneous inhibition of adenosine type-2 receptors induced vasoconstriction, which was stronger in NOX2(-/-). Adenosine (10(-8) mol/l) enhanced the ANG II response in wild type, but not in NOX2(-/-). This sensitizing effect by adenosine was abolished by apocynin. Chronic ANG II pretreatment (14 days) did not change the ANG II responses in NOX2(-/-), but strengthened the response in wild types. ANG II pretreatment augmented the l-NAME response in NOX2(-/-) (-33%), but not in wild types. Simultaneous application of l-NAME and ANG II caused a stronger constriction in the NOX2(-/-) (-64%) than in wild types (-46%). Basal blood pressures were similar in both genotypes, however, chronic ANG II infusion elevated blood pressure to a greater extent in wild-type (15 +/- 1%) than in NOX2(-/-) (8 +/- 1%) mice. In conclusion, NOX2 plays an important role in the control of afferent arteriole tone and is involved in the contractile responses to ANG II and/or adenosine. NOX2 can be activated by elevated ANG II and may play an important role in ANG II-induced hypertension. NOX2-derived ROS scavenges nitric oxide, causing subsequent nitric oxide-deficiency.  相似文献

T-bet and STAT4 play critical roles in helper T cell differentiation, especially for Th1 cells. However, it is still unknown about the relative importance and redundancy of T-bet and STAT4 for Th1 differentiation. It is also unknown about their independent role of T-bet and STAT4 in the regulation of allergic airway inflammation. In this study, we addressed these issues by comparing T-bet-deficient (T-bet(-/-)) mice, STAT4(-/-) mice, and T-bet- and STAT4-double-deficient (T-bet(-/-)STAT4(-/-)) mice on the same genetic background. Th1 differentiation was severely decreased in T-bet(-/-) mice and STAT4(-/-) mice as compared with that in wild-type mice, but Th1 differentiation was still observed in T-bet(-/-) mice and STAT4(-/-) mice. However, Th1 cells were hardly detected in T-bet(-/-)STAT4(-/-) mice. In contrast, the maintenance of Th17 cells was enhanced in T-bet(-/-) mice but was reduced in STAT4(-/-) mice and T-bet(-/-)STAT4(-/-) mice. In vivo, Ag-induced eosinophil and neutrophil recruitment into the airways was enhanced in T-bet(-/-) mice but was attenuated in STAT4(-/-) mice and T-bet(-/-)STAT4(-/-) mice. Ag-induced IL-17 production in the airways was also diminished in STAT4(-/-) mice and T-bet(-/-)STAT4(-/-) mice. These results indicate that STAT4 not only plays an indispensable role in T-bet-independent Th1 differentiation but also is involved in the maintenance of Th17 cells and the enhancement of allergic airway inflammation.  相似文献

Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) is a pleiotropic cytokine known to regulate cell growth, viral replication, inflammation, immune system functioning, angiogenesis, and tumorigenesis. These effects are mediated through two different receptors, TNFR1 and TNFR2 (also called p60 and p80, respectively), with p60 receptor being expressed on all cell types and p80 receptor only on cells of the immune system and on endothelial cells. Although the role of p60 receptor in TNF signaling is well established, the role of p80 is less clear. In this report, by using macrophages derived from wild-type mice (having both receptors) and mice in which the gene for either p60 (p60(-/-)), or p80 (p80(-/-)), or both (p60(-/-) p80(-/-)) receptor have been deleted, we have redefined the role of these receptors in TNF-induced activation of nuclear factor (NF)-kappa B and of mitogen-activated protein kinases. TNF activated NF-kappa B in a dose- and time-dependent manner in wild-type macrophages but not in p60(-/-), p80(-/-), or p60(-/-) p80(-/-) macrophages. These results correlated with the I kappa B alpha degradation needed for NF-kappa B activation. We also found that TNF activated c-Jun N-terminal protein kinase in a dose- and time-dependent manner in wild-type macrophages but not in p60(-/-), p80(-/-), or p60(-/-) p80(-/-) macrophages. TNF activated p38 MAPK and p44/p42 MAPK in wild-type but not in p60(-/-), p80(-/-), or p60(-/-) p80(-/-) macrophages. TNF induced the proliferation of wild-type macrophages, but for p60(-/-) and p80(-/-) macrophages proliferation was lower, and in p60(-/-) p80(-/-) it was absent. Overall, our studies suggest that both types of TNF receptors are needed in macrophages for optimum TNF cell signaling.  相似文献

Although the surface properties of surfactant protein (SP)-B and SP-C are similar, the contributions that either protein may make to lung function have not been identified in vivo. Mutations in SP-B cause lethal respiratory failure at birth; however, SP-B null mice are deficient in both SP-B and SP-C. To identify potential contributions of SP-C to lung function in vivo, the following transgenic mice were generated and exposed to 95% O(2) for 3 days: (SP-B(+/+),SP-C(+/+)), (SP-B(+/+), SP-C(-/-)), (SP-B(+/-),SP-C(+/+)), (SP-B(+/-),SP-C(+/-)), and (SP-B(+/-),SP-C(-/-)). Hyperoxia altered pressure-volume curves in mice that were heterozygous for SP-B, and these values were further decreased in (SP-B(+/-),SP-C(-/-)) mice. Likewise, alveolar interleukin (IL)-6 and IL-1 beta were maximally increased by O(2) exposure of (SP-B(+/-),SP-C(-/-)) mice compared with the other genotypes. Lung hysteresivity was lower in the (SP-B(+/-),SP-C(-/-)) mice. Surfactant isolated from (SP-B(+/+),SP-C(-/-)) and (SP-B(+/-),SP-C(-/-)) mice failed to stabilize the surface tension of microbubbles, showing that SP-C plays a role in stabilization or recruitment of phospholipid films at low bubble radius. Genetically decreased levels of SP-B combined with superimposed O(2)-induced injury reveals the distinct contribution of SP-C to pulmonary function in vivo.  相似文献

The seven highly conserved 14-3-3 proteins expressed in mammalian cells form a complex pattern of homo- and hetero-dimers, which is poorly characterized. Among the 14-3-3 proteins 14-3-3sigma is unique as it has tumor suppressive properties. Expression of 14-3-3sigma is induced by DNA damage in a p53-dependent manner and mediates a cell cycle arrest. Here we show that the 14-3-3sigma protein exclusively forms homodimers when it is ectopically expressed at high levels, whereas ectopic 14-3-3zeta formed heterodimers with the 5 other 14-3-3 isoforms. The x-ray structure of 14-3-3sigma?revealed 5 residues (Ser5, Glu20, Phe25, Q55, Glu80) as candidate determinants of dimerization specificity. Here we converted these amino-acids to residues present in 14-3-3zeta at the analogous positions. Thereby, Ser5, Glu20 and Glu80 were identified as key residues responsible for the selective homodimerization of 14-3-3sigma. Conversion of all 5 candidate residues was sufficient to switch the dimerization pattern of 14-3-3sigma to a pattern which is very similar to that of 14-3-3zeta. In contrast to wildtype 14-3-3sigma this 14-3-3sigma variant and 14-3-3zeta were unable to mediate inhibition of cell proliferation. Therefore, homodimerization by 14-3-3sigma is required for its unique functions among the 7 mammalian 14-3-3 proteins. As inactivation of 14-3-3sigma sensitizes to DNA-damaging drugs, substances designed to interfere with 14-3-3sigma dimerization may be used to inactivate 14-3-3sigma function for cancer therapeutic purposes.  相似文献

Exoenzyme S (ExoS) is a mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase secreted by the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. ExoS requires a eukaryotic factor, the 14-3-3 protein, for enzymatic activity. Here, two aspects of the activation of the ADP-ribosyltransferase activity of ExoS by 14-3-3 proteins are examined. Initial studies showed that several isoforms of 14-3-3, including beta, zeta, eta, sigma, and tau, activated ExoS with similar efficiency. This implicates a conserved structure in 14-3-3 that contributes to the interaction between 14-3-3 and ExoS. One candidate structure is the conserved amphipathic groove that mediates the 14-3-3/Raf-1 interaction. The next series of experiments examined the role of individual amino acids of the amphipathic groove of 14-3-3 zeta in ExoS activation and showed that ExoS activation required the basic residues lining the amphipathic groove of 14-3-3 zeta without extensive involvement of the hydrophobic residues. Strikingly, mutations of Val-176 of 14-3-3 zeta that disrupted its interaction with Raf-1 did not affect the binding and activation of ExoS by 14-3-3. Thus, ExoS selectively employs residues in the Raf-binding groove for its association with 14-3-3 proteins.  相似文献

Summary The occurrence and distribution of neurotensin-immunoreactive (NT-IR) perikarya was studied in the central nervous system of the guinea pig using a newly raised antibody (KN 1). Numerous NT-IR perikarya were found in the nuclei amygdaloidei, nuclei septi interventriculare, hypothalamus, nucleus parafascicularis thalami, substantia grisea centralis mesencephali, ventral medulla oblongata, nucleus solitarius and spinal cord. The distribution of NT-IR perikarya was similar to that previously described in the rat and monkey. In the gyrus cinguli, hippocampus and nucleus olfactorius, though, no NT-IR neurons were detected in this investigation. Portal hypertension initiates a splenorenal reflex, whereby increases in splenic afferent nerve activity and renal sympathetic nerve activity cause a decrease in renal blood flow (RBF). We postulated that mesenteric vascular congestion similarly compromises renal function through an intestinal-renal reflex. The portal vein was partially occluded in anesthetized rats, either rostral or caudal to the junction with the splenic vein. Portal venous pressure increased (6.5 +/- 0.1 to 13.2 +/- 0.1 mmHg; n = 78) and mesenteric venous outflow was equally obstructed in both cases. However, only rostral occlusion increased splenic venous pressure. Rostral occlusion caused a fall in RBF (-1.2 +/- 0.2 ml/min; n = 9) that was attenuated by renal denervation (-0.5 +/- 0.1 ml/min; n = 6), splenic denervation (-0.2 +/- 0.1 ml/min; n = 11), celiac ganglionectomy (-0.3 +/- 0.1 ml/min; n = 9), and splenectomy (-0.5 +/- 0.1 ml/min; n = 6). Caudal occlusion induced a significantly smaller fall in RBF (-0.5 +/- 0.1 ml/min; n = 9), which was not influenced by renal denervation (-0.2 +/- 0.2 ml/min; n = 6), splenic denervation (-0.1 +/- 0.1 ml/min; n = 7), celiac ganglionectomy (-0.1 +/- 0.3 ml/min; n = 8), or splenectomy (-0.3 +/- 0.1 ml/min; n = 7). Renal arterial conductance fell only in intact animals subjected to rostral occlusion (-0.007 +/- 0.002 ml.min(-1).mmHg(-1)). This was accompanied by increases in splenic afferent nerve activity (15.0 +/- 3.5 to 32.6 +/- 6.2 spikes/s; n = 7) and renal efferent nerve activity (32.7 +/- 5.2 to 39.3 +/- 6.0 spikes/s; n = 10). In animals subjected to caudal occlusion, there were no such changes in renal arterial conductance or splenic afferent/renal sympathetic nerve activity. We conclude that the portal hypertension-induced fall in RBF is initiated by increased splenic, but not mesenteric, venous pressure, i.e., we did not find evidence for intestinal-renal reflex control of the kidneys.  相似文献

The concentrations of free Na+, K+, Ca(+, and Cl(-)in endolymph and perilymph from the inner ear of the oyster toadfish, Opsanus tau, were measured in vivo using double-barreled ion-selective electrodes. Perilymph concentrations were similar to those measured in other species, while endolymph concentrations were similar to those measured previously in elasmobranch fish, though significantly different from concentrations reported in mammals. Perilymph concentrations (mean +/- std. dev.) were as follows: Na+, 129 mmol l(-1) +/- 20; K+, 4.96 mmol l(-1) +/- 2.67; Ca2+, 1.83 mmol l(-1) +/- 0.27; and Cl(-), 171 mmol l(-1) +/- 20. Saccular endolymph concentrations were Na+, 166 mmol l(-1) +/- 22; K+, 51.4 mmol l(-1) +/- 16.7; Ca2+, 2.88 mmol l(-1) +/- 0.27; and Cl(-), 170 mmol l(-1) +/- 12; and semicircular canal (utricular vestibule) endolymph concentrations were Na+, 122 mmol l(-1) +/- 15; K+, 47.7 mmol l(-1) +/- 13.2; Ca2+, 1.78 mmol l(-1) +/- 0.48; Cl(-), 176 mmol l(-1) +/- 27. The relatively high concentrations of Ca2+ and Na+ in the endolymph may have significant implications for the physiological function of the mechanoelectrical transduction channels in the vestibular hair cells of fish compared to those of their mammalian counterparts.  相似文献

Effects of the anthelmintics, pyrantel and levamisole, on egg development of Angiostrongylus costaricensis were studied in vitro. After 7 days, about 80% of eggs developed to first-stage larvae in Ham's F-12 medium with 10% foetal calf serum under 5% CO2. Significant inhibition of development was caused by pyrantel (10(-9) - 10(-8) g ml(-1)) and levamisole (10(-9) - 10(-8) g ml(-1)) (Mann-Whitney U-test; ), and none of the eggs developed to first-stage larvae in higher concentrations of these anthelmintics (10(-7) g ml(-1)). Furthermore, incubation with these drugs at 10(-8) g ml(-1) for at least 3 h or at 10(-4) g ml(-1) for 1 h caused irreversible effects on egg development.  相似文献

Plasmodium pifanoi Scorza and Dagert B., known only from the type host, Ameiva ameiva, is redescribed from Kentropyx calcarata collected in Territorio Amazonas, Venezuela. Schizonts, 6.2 x 4.5 (4-8 x 3-6), produce on average 11.9 (7-16) merozoites. Gametocytes average 12.4 x 6.0 (8-16 x 4-10), with length x width (LW) 72.9 (52-112) and L/W 2.18 (1.1-3.3), and always contain 1-5 prominent vacuoles. Macrogametocytes in active infection are longer than microgametocytes, with greater LW, but gametocytes in chronic infection are not sexually dimorphic in dimension and are slightly smaller. Two additional malarial parasites are described from K. calcarata. Plasmodium lepidoptiformis has small schizonts, 4.6 x 3.2 (3-6 x 2.5-3), that produce 5.1 (4-8) merozoites and commonly resemble a butterfly in appearance. Gametocytes are elongate, 9.0 x 4.3 (7-10 x 3-6), with LW 38.3 (24-51) and L/W 2.2 (1.3-3.3), and sexually dimorphic, with macrogametocytes longer than microgametocytes, with greater LW. Plasmodium minasense calcaratae is characterized by very small, usually fan-shaped, schizonts. 3.4 x 2.6 (2.5-4.5 x 2.0-3.0), that produce 3.9 (3-4) merozoites. Gametocytes are spherical or ovoid, 6.7 x 5.0 (4.5-9.0 x 3.0-7.0), with LW 33.7 (15-54) and L/W 1.4 (1.0-2.3), with no sexual dimorphism in dimensions.  相似文献

A new species Syringophiloidus delichonum sp. n. (Acari: Syringophilidae) is described from quills of Delichon urbica (Hirundinidae) and S. glandarii (Fritsch, 1958) from Garrulus glandarius (Corvidae) is redescribed. Syringophiloidus glandarii, female: body length 650-680, width 160-180. Peritremes: longitudinal branch with 11-14 chambers, lateral--with 2 chambers. All propodosomal setae slightly serrate. Length of setae: vi 33-36, ve 87-96, sci 150-180, sce 180-240, h 200-230, dl 210-230, d2 140-170, d4 25-32, d5 33-40, l1 190-210, l2 150-170, l4 250-280, l5 310-320, pg1 140-150, pg2 120-160, pg3 190-200, g1, g2 40-45, a1, a2 25-33. Male. Body length 500-520, width 150-170. Peritremes: longitudinal branch with 13-14 chambers, lateral with 4 chambers. Length of setae: vi 32-36, ve 50-56, sci 74-80, sce 120-135, h 90-100, d1 135-140, d2 13-22, d5 20-22, l1 24-45, l2 13-22, l5 180-200, pg1 90-110, pg2 70-90. S. glandarii is closely related to S. presentalis Chirov et Kravsova, 1995. It is distinguished from the latter species by following characters. In female S. glandarii, setae vi, ve are thick and serrate, ve 87-96 in length. In female S. presentalis, setae vi, ve are thin and nude, ve 40-70 in length. Syringophiloidus delichonum sp. n., female (holotype): body length 900, width 135. Peritremes: longitudinal branch with 8 chambers, lateral--with 1-2 chambers. All setae nude. Length of setae: vi 45, ve 90, sci 200, sce 200, h 225, d2 90, d4 35, d5 33, l1 140, l2 ?, 155-160 in paratypes, l4 230, l5 320, pg1 135, pg2 120, pg3 170, g1, g2 40, a1, a2 17. Male Body length 506, width 135. Peritremes: longitudinal branch with 9 chambers, lateral with 2 chambers. Length of setae; vi 33, ve 78, sci 90, sce 123, h 130, d1 135, d2 15, d5 17, l1 22, l2 15, l5 180, pg1 105, pg2 45. S. delichonum sp. n. is closely related to S. presentalis, but differs by following characters. In female S. delichonum sp. n., body length is 850-920; longitudinal branch of peritreme includes 6-8 chambers; setae ve 85-90 in length; in male, longitudinal branch of peritreme include 9 chambers. In female S. glandarii, body length 630-700; longitudinal branch of peritreme include 10-11 chambers; setae ve 40-70 in length; in male, longitudinal branch of peritreme include 11-13 chambers.  相似文献

Hydrochloric acid treatment of methyl 3-(4-isobutylphenyl)-3-methylglycidate and methyl 2-hydroxy-3-(4-isobutylphenyl)-3-butenoate, a rearrangement product of the former, in acetic acid gave 3-(4-isobutylphenyl)-3-methylpyruvic acid and 2-(4-isobutylphenyl)-pro-panal. The same treatment of 2-hydroxy-3-(4-isobutylphenyl)-3-butenoic acid gave 2-(4-isobutylphenyl)-propanal. Both 3-(4-isobutylphenyl)-3-methylpyruvic acid and 2-(4-iso-butylphenyl)-propanal were oxidized to 2-(4-isobutylphenyl)-propionic acid.  相似文献

The 14-3-3 proteins interact with diverse cellular molecules involved in various signal transduction pathways controlling cell proliferation, transformation, and apoptosis. To aid our investigation of the biological function of 14-3-3 proteins, we have set out to identify high-affinity antagonists. By screening phage display libraries, we have identified a set of peptides which bind 14-3-3 proteins. One of these peptides, termed R18, exhibited a high affinity for different isoforms of 14-3-3 with estimated K(D) values of 7-9 x 10(-)(8) M. Recognition of multiple isoforms of 14-3-3 suggests the targeting of R18 to a structure that is common among 14-3-3 proteins, such as the conserved ligand-binding groove. Indeed, mutations that alter critical residues in the ligand-binding site of 14-3-3 drastically decreased the level of 14-3-3-R18 association. R18 efficiently blocked the binding of 14-3-3 to the kinase Raf-1, a physiological ligand of 14-3-3, and effectively abolished the protective role of 14-3-3 against phosphatase-induced inactivation of Raf-1. The cocrystal structure of R18 in complex with 14-3-3zeta revealed the occupancy of the general binding groove of 14-3-3zeta by R18, explaining the potent inhibitory effect of R18 on 14-3-3-ligand interactions. Such a well-defined peptide will be an effective tool for probing the role of 14-3-3 in various signaling pathways, and may lead to the development of 14-3-3 antagonists with pharmacological applications.  相似文献

Role of ICAM-1 (CD54) in the development of murine cerebral malaria   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
In susceptible mouse strains, infection of mice with Plasmodium berghei ANKA (PbA) results in a lethal complication, cerebral malaria. Cerebral malaria is due to the immune response induced by the parasite, which results in an increased production of TNF, known to increase the expression of adhesion molecules on the endothelia. To investigate the role of the adhesion molecule ICAM-1 (CD54), we infected wild-type (+/+) and ICAM-1-deficient (-/-) mice with PbA. While +/+ mice died 6-8 days after infection, -/- mice survived > 15 days. Parasitaemia was similar in +/+ and -/- mice. Serum TNF concentration was increased by the infection and was significantly higher in infected +/+ than in -/- mice. However, TNF mRNA levels in spleen, lungs, and brain were elevated in both infected +/+ and -/- mice. For IFN-gamma, serum levels were similar in both groups. A breakdown of the blood-brain barrier was evident in infected +/+ mice only. Interestingly, thrombocytopenia was profound in infected +/+, but practically absent in -/- mice. Moreover, macrophage sequestration was evident in brain venules and lung capillaries of +/+ mice and was significantly less important in the alveolar capillaries of infected -/- mice. In contrast, neutrophil sequestration in the lung was similar in both +/+ and -/- mice. Sequestration of parasitized red blood cells was significantly greater in the alveolar capillaries from +/+ than -/- mice. These results indicate that while the immune response is similar in both +/+ and ICAM-1(-/-) mice, the absence of mortality in ICAM(-/-) mice correlates with a decrease of macrophage and parasitized RBC trapping and a less severe thrombocytopenia.  相似文献
